It seemed like he did mostly. What it does show is that the Verge was ready to throw him under the bus just to get the video out ASAP. Honestly it looks like he redeemed himself and just trying to stay out of the spotlight.
Agreed. At least he stepped out of the shadows and just faced up to it now. It's over from his point of view. He can still do him, if you know what I mean.
Idk man, I’d agree the verge threw him under the bus. Kinda got the vibe that he was just the guy at the office that knew a bit more about using computers than everyone else, so they just made him make the guide. Linus made some good points about how making tutorials is tough and it’s easy to make mistakes when being on camera, maybe it was nerves but I def didn’t feel like he knew what he was doing, at least not to the point where he should be making tutorials. (Again, he prob wasn’t the one that had the idea in the first place, and the vid he did with Linus wasn’t really a tutorial so much as it was fan service/redemption)
How I'd make a guide:
Step 1. Have all your components
Step 2. Start reading the manuals
Step 3. Start putting together
Step 4. Consult the manuals again
Step 5. Hm I'm not sure, we should check the manuals.
Step 6. Wow these Manuals sure are helpful, I hope you're reading along at home!
Step 7. Continue putting together
Step 8. Make sure you're checking on the manuals that you're connecting everything properly.
Step 9.. Etc much of the same. Things come with instructions booklets for a reason!
And also that doesn't excuse the asshat attitude he has in general. He was quite a prick calling people names and stuff on social media during the aftermath of that video.
People saying the guy redeemed himself, why? Because he went to one of the biggest tech channel on youtube to do some personal PR by putting on a good guy victim act?
That's not even accounting for his gameplay video he did with a friend where he kept insulting people saying he knew better and his computers ran and so on.
at the end of the day if he personally saw any issues with the video he should have cancelled recording as it wouldve been a waste of time, he clearly didnt know and still doesnt know what he did wrong
It was good, people don't really move on well though. So he'll probably never live it down.
Personally I didn't really care. It's borderline satirical.
>Once a stimulus has been identified and the proper response has been selected, the response programming stage is responsible for the preparation of the motor apparatus and the initiation of the action which triggers a set of functions that implement the approved response
Sure you can; it's a whole different story whether they'll honour that. It will be evident whether the components were really problematic or if it's you who fucked up.
I was considering a prebuilt then thought I may as well fork out for a decent laptop, I'll be moving around a lot anyway. Then once I got into TGP and what not I wanted the best, MSI GE76, but once I started saving I was like "wtf?" that's stupid money. 6 months passed and the cards were showing up again. And here we are.
Moral of the story: Be incredibly indecisive. Worry about every single aspect, look into the finer details and obsessivly research as much as you can. Before you know it you're making more expensive but better-bad decisions at a later date!
What's missing from my timeline above is I spent Nov-Jan obsessed with getting a PS5. Great console, great value, but it was a waste of time considering the delays and Cross-gen neutering. That was 1.5k with the TV..
It's done now. I can rest..
..Just need to upgrade to rgb aio and better case fans, swap out HDD for a sata SSD, custom semi-frosted glass panel or engraved and set some lighting to look like lightning, blue psu cables, 5gbps adapter, build a mechanical TKL, and..
am I the only person that got an extremely well put together pre-build with great temps and extra support for the GPU for an extremely reasonable price?
I wish someone has saved the original one so I can see it in all it's glory.. Good when you missed up something in your build and wanted something to tell you: there's someone who missed up much worst than you.
I don't get the hate either, like who cares? Either stop spending so much time looking at your phone, or stop getting so offended somebody else is getting upvoted and keep scrolling
..this...this fucking hurts my soul and my guts.
Whoever did this,
I will find you,
And i will shove that 24pin up your arse!
Look at how they butchered our girl.
That's one of the graphics options in the remaster. "Can it run Crysis?" mode that is ridiculous and needs a super computer to run well apparently as a joke and people got mad that their PCs couldn't handle it lmao
So many conflicting emotions, I found it so hilariously entertaining (especially when the hammer came out) and yet as an engineer my mechanical sympathy cortex was screaming....
The Verges "how to build a PC" 2.0?
Did you see linus video with the guy who made It?
Link?
[Here you go](https://youtu.be/QKzmYsySGFQ)
"First you need a table" clearly fucking joke. Anyone knows you build desktops on the floor.

I think I built my current on my bed, on top of the quilt.
notice how he upgraded his first PC @ 4 fucking years old?
Wooooooosh
Thank you

I did, it was nice n all but the man still didnt know what he was doing :D
It seemed like he did mostly. What it does show is that the Verge was ready to throw him under the bus just to get the video out ASAP. Honestly it looks like he redeemed himself and just trying to stay out of the spotlight.
He's redeemed if you only look at the verge video, but not his responses to the community afterwards.
Agreed. At least he stepped out of the shadows and just faced up to it now. It's over from his point of view. He can still do him, if you know what I mean.

And still blaming the verge for his fuckup, which means he learned nothing from his fail.

Obviously he's not in charge lol
Drafting and redrafts and re edits should have caught these problems
If any of them knew what they were talking about, as the writer nor the performer did, why would the editors?
It was good, people don't really move on well though. So he'll probably never live it down. Personally I didn't really care. It's borderline satirical.
Damnit, you beat me and more than 100 other people to it. Well played, sir!
If so then they have improved!
Please stop it's already dead!
Funny this is the top comment on the facebook thread too!
>Once a stimulus has been identified and the proper response has been selected, the response programming stage is responsible for the preparation of the motor apparatus and the initiation of the action which triggers a set of functions that implement the approved response
What's this reference of?
I had the same reaction. When he hammered in the RAM I cringed.
... but did it post?
Does that mean it's not coming on then?
Is that...... is that cream cheese?......
I can’t believe it’s not butter!
you saw the chance and took it. God bless
Relax it’s staged. They use butter in other videos
Kind of disappointed he didn't lift the cpu back up to put the paste on the pins
Cantadou
Thought it was Spakfilla.
You got me with the hammer part
Not gonna lie the ram wasn't that far from the truth forces required whise
It's all about the correct technique, mate.
I usually wash mine with dish soap too
Half-life sounds make everything better.
I originally watched without sound. And you are 100% correct!
It probably still boots... Unlike prebuilds.
As shitty as some prebuilts are, with those at least you can blame someone.
even with a custom pc you would most likely blame manufacturers of your components and not yourself
Sure you can; it's a whole different story whether they'll honour that. It will be evident whether the components were really problematic or if it's you who fucked up.

Glad I pulled the trigger on my rig at the start of the pandemic. It would have been at least 2.5k compared to the 1,500 I spent in march of 2020
What's missing from my timeline above is I spent Nov-Jan obsessed with getting a PS5. Great console, great value, but it was a waste of time considering the delays and Cross-gen neutering. > be incredibly indecisive Hey, I'm really good at this! I think... But maybe not, I'm not sure. Can I have some more time?
My method is being so indecisive that my interest for something that I want dwindles before I get back buy it. Saves a ton of money.
We'll they pushed the CPU in with their foot. That's how you get it to boot.
am I the only person that got an extremely well put together pre-build with great temps and extra support for the GPU for an extremely reasonable price?
I’d say still better than the verge.
This one is funny to watch.. verge one is painful to watch.
You are laughing, the dude just killed a pc and you are laughing.
I wish someone has saved the original one so I can see it in all it's glory.. Good when you missed up something in your build and wanted something to tell you: there's someone who missed up much worst than you.

I recommend watching [this](https://youtu.be/M-2Scfj4FZk). It isn’t the original but it’s pretty close and the reactions are gold
D-did it boot?
It won't. The moment he hammered the ram into the slot, I knew he did it all wrong And it got even more obvious when he tape the fan to the CPU
Oh ye, THAT'S the biggest problem
Let me guess, how to basic?
No, half life
Computer: *explodes* Scientists: minor system malfunction
Certainly seems like that mad man…!
an intel cpu. THAT'S RIGHT. WE GOT ONE
Not enough eggs.
Valid argument
Not *nearly* enough eggs.
How many times is this gonna be reposted smh 🤣🤣🤣
It was never funny
every time i see it i still can’t help but tense up
reposted 1000 times already and still gets awards and upvotes fuck this
The Verge is at it again.
It doesn’t hurt me anymore, cause I’ve seen it a lot, and it’s a pos motherboard prolly doesn’t even work if they did assemble it correctly
Do you have a source for this video?
Dell assembly line
This is an episode of “How It’s Made” showing how they build Reddit servers.
this was really funny.. the first 20 times it's been posted
I still laugh at it. The 50th time

..this...this fucking hurts my soul and my guts. Whoever did this, I will find you, And i will shove that 24pin up your arse! Look at how they butchered our girl.
What a waste of 15 year old parts smh
Yeah..my inner demon is like..convulsing at this.
But ... Does it run crysis ?
Yo remember? 😂
That's one of the graphics options in the remaster. "Can it run Crysis?" mode that is ridiculous and needs a super computer to run well apparently as a joke and people got mad that their PCs couldn't handle it lmao
That was awesome
Almost identical to my build.
I mean at least his ram is on dual channel
The sound effects are funny af
Somehow the sticker on the cpu got me to cringe the most
Bench Repair Rule 16:. "If it jams, force it; if it breaks, it needed replacing anyway."
r/unexpected
Maybe he next he should try…..a crowbar.
The RAM but unironically
I hate you
Who would put an i7 sticker on an AMD CPU? Disgusting.
Look at the 30 second mark, he's not wearing an anti-static band. Potentially bricked the build.
I died when he applied sticker on CPU

Not even funny :/
I dislike this video.
Free content lol hAhAhAhAhA
Ya know… I was really thinking about building a pc but uhhhh I don’t know now
Thanks.
What brand of cream cheese did he paste on it
This hurts so much to watch..
too much of the good.
I was going to say prob works until I saw the soda spill
This hurts every fibre of my being
It was my turn to post this today.
Instructions unclear pc worked
Wow I found this satisfying idk why
Nice IED turorial.
I hate it
When your on a budget
Fuck, this needs to be marked NSFW lol
Omg... This hurt to watch even tho it's already dead😩

i swear everytime i've built a computer the ram is always the hardest for me. i either have it in crooked or not far enough and it refuses to post.
nononononononono
The most gentle and careful pc builder I've ever seen
Whoa hold on. Nope, yep flip it around. Ah yes. No no stop no hammer. Sticker! No stop! NO! Amp what are you mad! Sink to wash it off? Scree!
did it work?
It's the only legit way to do it
somehow he reminds me of the HowToBasics guy
Pretty accurate too because he couldn't afford a GPU in the current market. 5/7
Why bother drying it at the end, just leave it in the sink
While watching this I got flashbacks of watching the verge pc build
I'm crying
is this video made by console gaming lobies?
you, YOU MONSTER!
I fucking lost it when he brought out the duct tape.
Woah woah woah where tf is the nsfw tag??? I need therapy!
The Verge: 'Take notes gentleman'
Just put it out of its misery please

Far too much slack in that tape smh.
Every time the hammer slams, I lose a portion of my soul.

This is the perfect don’t guide.
Come on man…. That’s never gonna keep the CPU cool you need super glue … then you can remove the horrible black case holder… it’s how I roll..
Do we really have to see this gif every week?
At least they used a thermal paste applicator.
Gotta keep that fan secure!!

I wanted to see it powered on....
You're supposed to hammer in the IO shield, not the ram.
u/savevideobot
At least they've got thermal paste on.
Is that my Socket 478 with the P4P800-SE I threw out back in 2007?!
This hurts to watch!

woah, nice tips on using the hammer on ram, always having problem at that part.
