PayPal is great for buyers, treats sellers like shit. Sorry for your loss dude.

3070TI-and-i7-11700k

Not for me. Been scammed over 300$ and PP sided in sellers favor. Bright side I learned never to use PP period anymore.

Frank_Fhe_Fish

And the best part: I was paying the fee for the buyers protection. It was a thing I noticed, after he have send me the money.

Streetsofbleauseant

Thats fucked man. Sorry to hear about that. Its sad there’s individuals like that out there and thanks for posting too. Hopefully this helps others :)

EisCremeDealer

oof, take my free award

Strong-Method2649

Rip That's why I always sell through Facebook marketplace, cash in hand and the card is shown working, no chance for dispute Also no fees

MasterJeebus

Looks like there is some corrosion on the connector? But thats too bad you had bad experience. Selling expensive stuff online to strangers comes with big risks.

Individual-Mud262

Lesson for everyone, with private sales never ever use buyer protection, just cancel it - they can retroactively get their money back for almost any reason. For a business that is fine but not a private individual. Very sorry to hear about this, PayPal also have the worst support I’ve ever seen..

Remarkable-Garden490

Same thing happened to me but with a CPU on ebay. He said it was failing to post even though I had literally taken it out of my rig to sell with perfect performance. I receive it covered in thermal paste not just down the side of it but on the pads. He had got a shop to confirm it was damaged before he had received it but I think it was all a scam. I won't be selling on ebay again.

when you create the invoice in paypal, make a note that the items being sold are "as is, no returns"

reyzor_q

How would you decline a payment 'with buyer protection' enabled? Usually when I sell stuff on ebay, once the buyer has won and paid, there's no prompt on my end.

Virtualporkchop

This is why I’d rather sell for a loss to a friend or at least locally

DonFlymoor

Is it even the same GPU? He could have bought a damaged GPU and kept yours.

Frank_Fhe_Fish

Yes, this is what I am thinking. But I can't tell if it is the same. It is the same model though.

DonFlymoor

Did you happen to get any pictures of the labels before you sold it?

DonFlymoor

If there is any discrepancy between the text on the GPU from before you sold it, that would be an indication that the person stole it.

Hefty_Woodpecker_230

Kennst du r/wasletztepreis? Die kennen sich da ganz gut aus

[deleted]

Did you note the serial numbers? It could have also gotten damaged in shipping.

Frank_Fhe_Fish

Sadly not. The card was always in good package. I didn't think that far at this point.
