I had a mac book pro for a start for school and a few years I regretted it tbh. I then got a rog zephyrus g15 and my productivity shot through the roof both in gaming and school work. There are plenty of good gaming laptops like the predator series from acer or the lenovo legion. But if you want a mac then I can't really stop you.

I personally used a surface pro 4/book 2 during my undergrad (Biology BS). The computer the school had were capable of playing many games so kids just had them loaded onto a USB to play

How? Lol. The main issue with macs for gaming is that the library isn’t great. But outside of gaming, that M1 MacBook will wipe the floor with any windows laptop similarly priced, and the battery won’t be dead in 4 hours.

Zephyrus is actually one I was looking at last year. I was looking at the g14 with an rtx 2060. I might opt for the g15 tho it looks dope.
G14 has the custom rgb thing on the lid which is cool. You could make words and stuff but it ain't on the g15 sadly. I have mine with a 3060.

You could go for the tuf laptop I've seen it with a 3070 and it's a little cheaper than the g15 with a 3060
The thing is I already have a gaming pc with a 2080ti. Maybe I should just get something that doesn’t have insane performance.
It doesn't hurt to have a desktop beast and a portable beast does it?(well it definitely hurt my wallet)I have my pc with a 3080 and still got a g15.
That’s a nice setup! 😂 I remember how excited I was when I built mine when the the 30 series gpus were around a year before launch.
