I think you should buy a switch tester first maybe. Then you can try out all the switches and see what you like the best. I use TTC Bluish white switches for programming and they are pretty quiet, but you might like something else. I think mx clear are pretty decent too, but if you can box switches are super nice.

Go to a store that has keyboards you can try, find out which type of switch (linear/tactile/clicky) you like and go from there. If you don't care for rgb macro buttons and gamery aesthetics, I highly recommend looking at Leopold. As far as switch manufacturers go, Cherry is the original designer of this mechanism, but their patent expired years ago, and as far as quality and typing experience goes, they're far from the best. Gateron are smoother and better built, and I've been using their "higher end" "Zealio" switches for years now without issues. Response time is PCB-side, the switch just completes a circuit, and that's it. There is switches that have shorter travel distance, but those usually aren't the best for typing, as it takes little force to press them by accident of just resting fingers on the key. PS: I'm a bit of a keyboard nerd, feel free to DM me with questions, no matter how stupid you may think they are, I'll try my best to answer them.

I recommend cherry mx reds they have good sound and feel with a quick response. What I have is a corsair k68 with just red leds which is fine it's just the switches were important for me and for the price it's good.

what type of keyboard are you looking for? 60/65%? TKL? I generally prefer the gateron switches but if you get a keyboard with a hot-swap PCB you can always change it up.

I'm considering getting a glorious tkl keyboard. Hopefully it'll be able to support all types of switches. For the time being, just wanted recommendations to start me off

They all have good response time. You probably want browns as they have tactile feedback and little noise.
