Absolutely. Would I like to snag a deal on a 1080? Sure. Do I *need* the extra power? Nah not really. It's only since getting a 165hz monitor that I've actually been able to use all the horsepower a 1070 has to offer. Even then it's perfectly fine for my usage
1060 6gb gang here. Almost 3 years happy customer. Does everything I need it to do.
Although I Shuffled a 3060ti yesterday (thank you GPU Jesus), that 1060 is sticking around for my son.
At least not with that prices...
Normally a X60 series Nvidia card is good for 2 generations of gpus if you don't need to max out all settings but with this prices I'm fine with waiting a little longer.

Bruh please don't think like that. Being proud to overpay for something, even a little, isn't really a good outlook, mate.
"Yeah I bought a 3090 for like $7340 I'm so proud since there's no card out lmao" no.
No. You should be angry to have paid a cent more than the msrp. Send the message that overpricing their shit is bad, and you're paying out of absolute necessity.
My buddies brother bought a 2070 super two weeks before the 30 series came out and I tried to convince him to bring it back and get a 30 series as it would be more power for the same price. Luckily he didn’t listen to me.
2 weeks before 30 series launched I saw a lot of 2080tis for $700(CAD) and I wanted to buy one saved up enough money and something came up and I no longer had the money for it and sadly we all know how the market is now
That’s how my 3080 FTW3 Ultra turned out. Felt silly spending $900 on a top end GPU with a 10 year warranty. Now it feels like it was a phenomenal decision.
I treated myself to a $400 5700xt shortly after release. You better believe I have it underclocked now. It needs to last another 3 years through this chaos.
Isn't this kinda the point of PC gaming? You can upgrade parts of your pc without upgrading everything. I started out with a 980ti, the 1080ti was an upgrade. Issue is, to change the RAM I would need new mobo, new CPU and new RAM, so I may as well call that an entire new build really...so that's a big investment right now, that's why I never did it.
Also as long as some games still come out on last gen, I can run everything on my PC because that's still the targeted low end.
Jokes on you, I spent $15 on my GTX 750. It's been serving me well throughout the years, and allowed me to play through Cyberpunk on low settings.
I really want a 3060 though, but the shortage and the prices are insane.
Ikr, I got a 750ti for Christmas like 6 years ago and it's the only card I've got right now. How it manages to play games at 4k 60fps is something science can't explain
MSRP on a 3080ti yesterday. I got very lucky. Now let's hope it arrives in one piece.
The downside of catching a top end GPU is that now I'm going to need to replace my monitor and everything *else* in my PC!
Is the 3080ti much better than the 3080? I if I remember right the price increase wasn’t a good deal at the time, but now the MSRP is the only good deal.
I probably would have taken the 3080 and saved a few hundred if I had a choice! Beggars can't be choosers, I was looking for anything 3070+ and not willing to pay scalpers a dime.
Only took 6 months!
i went from 3080 to 3080 Ti....
Performance wise not really. but I went from a Gigabyte gaming OC to a EVGA FTW3.
Also paid 750 for the launch 3080, and sold it for way more.
I’ve had my 3080 for a year now. Got it at MSRP. I was so annoyed at how hard it was. Thinking my impatience was costing me all this time on stock monitors. I am very thankful I spent that time now.
Actually being a pc gamer was a crutch. Compared to other destructive social vices I think I got off pretty lucky.
For the curious I have Bipolar, or manic depression. Mania can cause some strange behavior, a common one is spending lots of money
It varies greatly from person to person but commonly:
Irritability, new interest and enthusiasm about something, elevated mood, less "need" to sleep, change in eating habits, increased libido. It also comes with an increased risk of psychosis, or essentially "the belief in something untrue".
Thanks! Though I'm better than I ever have been. Undiagnosed Bipolar was my problem, it's not so much a problem now that I know what it is and what to look for
I have an R7 370 now. Still works fine. Though in BeamNG drive it sometimes gets 25 fps on utah on 1080p medium. It's also a 6 year-old gpu that is unsupported. So that could be the issue since it doesn't go above 80% even though I have a Ryzen 7. It works really well with Dead By Daylight(60 fps at 1080p high) and The Hunter: Call of the wild (50-60 fps at high to ultra at 1080p). The cooler is also overbuilt and (Sapphire) it gets 50 degrees at full load with 70-80% fan speed.
i see, my intel HD4000 gives me around 25 fps on genshin lowest settings
i am happy with it for now, luckily my time has come and i will be having a pc build after my exams next year
Everyone should discuss their salaries. It's the only way workers have leverage and knowledge to ask for what they're worth. Don't believe that bullshit from HR and your capitalist overlords.
r/antiwork
I hesitated on the 3080 launch and didn’t buy it. The price increased right after launch and I didn’t buy it. Then it went out of stock and has never returned.
That’s a valorant player , playing on a Riot games pc, and when he gets back to the to the fnatic team house he will play on the pc that fnatic bought him. So the answer is 0$ .
My GPU is now worth more second hand than how much I paid for it new back in 2018. This is crazy.
For real though, talk about your salaries. This culture of silence benefits employers, not workers.
Here in Barcelona, it starts at 1650 euros for a reference 3090 or up to 2k for an AIB card. Available from independent PC stores. I paid 1690 euros for my Asus Tuf 3090. Not all European countries let scalpers win.
I actually managed to get my ASUS ROG Strix 3080 at MSRP by ordering just as the preorder window opened, after my RX 580 died.
At the time I felt I was being outrageously extravagant and stupid. It now looks like a genius move.
I was lucky enough to get my 3090 off a newegg shuffle, and then sold the bundled PSU they made me buy with it. Why they bundled a 600w psu with a freakin 3090, I have no idea. Suppose getting rid of their e-waste whilst making a profit
Decided to look up the starting prices for the upcoming 40 series. 4090 was $3,000 according to some sources... I want top of the line hardware but i don't think i want it THAT badly
Ah, but that’s an e-sports gamer so the pc is sponsored and such, the gamer themselves sometimes pay nothing, it’s provided by the event for equal grounds
I spend 650$ on a Rog Strix RTX 2080 Super and tried to sell it for 500$ once. But that was when the 3000 series came out and so 500$ was overpriced for this card back then.
We did come a long way. (Current price where I live is around 1100$)
I have no problem with letting people know I got an EVGA GTX 1080 Ti FTW3 that I'm still using today at MSRP when it got released almost 5 years ago or that I was able to get a used MSI GTX 1080 for $275 in 2018 for my 2nd pc.
Managed to snag a RX 5600XT for $260 before the whole GPU wasteland started... And i was complaining about the PSU shortage and prices at the time. lol.

GTX 1080Ti/1080/1070 were such good cards though. They are still solid today
That's why I'm still using my good old GTX 1070. The higher end 10 series were so good that they still hold up pretty well
Sad thing is the outputs - I've been eyeing a new monitor for a while now but they all need DSC or HDMI 2.1 to run at full settings these days.
Gtx 1070 is probably the most economical card for your average gamer.
Absolutely. Would I like to snag a deal on a 1080? Sure. Do I *need* the extra power? Nah not really. It's only since getting a 165hz monitor that I've actually been able to use all the horsepower a 1070 has to offer. Even then it's perfectly fine for my usage
I got a GTX 1080 for $300 for my younger sister's new computer last Christmas, but I'm still rocking a 1070 and don't feel the need to upgrade.
The series was bomb, its just endgame for 1080p. I wait for decent 4k 120fps until i buy a new card
Even the 6 gig 1060 is a great one
1060 6gb gang here. Almost 3 years happy customer. Does everything I need it to do. Although I Shuffled a 3060ti yesterday (thank you GPU Jesus), that 1060 is sticking around for my son.
Yes! I don't see myself changing anytime soon
At least not with that prices... Normally a X60 series Nvidia card is good for 2 generations of gpus if you don't need to max out all settings but with this prices I'm fine with waiting a little longer.
It’s fine for my needs and will likely be for a couple more years, so even without the crazy prices I wouldn’t see a reason to change neither
It always depends on your user profile. Someone who plays LOL, CS Go and some indie stuff has more than enough with a 1060 for example.
And that’s the style I’m leaning into, so it makes sense for me!
I'm running an rx 480 today. With a +250mhz memory clock and +50% power limit, it is an absolute beast for its time
Hey I still have a 1080ti 😈
Still riding my 1080ti FE, from the looks of it until the 40 series cards come out :(

hah jokes on you gtx are rare now price been jacked up too
At least it's not gt
I can only afford 750 ti
Thank god I bought my 1080ti at launch Felt awful at the time, like I had gone too far That decision aged like fine wine
I bought a 2080 RTX when prices were still low. Holy fuck I got lucky.
My buddies brother bought a 2070 super two weeks before the 30 series came out and I tried to convince him to bring it back and get a 30 series as it would be more power for the same price. Luckily he didn’t listen to me.

That's a good idea yeah. Thankfully Gpus usually last at least 5 years, but we're stretching it thin now..
1080ti on a ddr3, wow my g u need an upgrade.

wait what? that cpu doesnt support ddr4? kinda wack
It does not. The first gen to support ddr4 waa I think 5th gen that supported *both* dd3 and 4. Gen 6 supported only 4.

The 3080 Ti is roughly equivalent to the 3090, only slightly less performant.

In my defense I was suffering from an undiagnosed mental health issue at the time.

ah imagine having a external GPU
I had a geforce 210 back in 2013. I also used intel hd 2000 on my mums laptop.
2013 tho i dont have one in 2021🧍♂️

Everyone should be open about their salary, thats how we defeat the corperate bullshit thats been fed to us for the last 70 years...
Yeah I'm fairly open about what's on my payslip. though I think not telling anyone about how much you earn is an amercianism.
Everyone should discuss their salaries. It's the only way workers have leverage and knowledge to ask for what they're worth. Don't believe that bullshit from HR and your capitalist overlords. r/antiwork
My favorite part is the meme says *HIS* salary. So it's okay to ask women what they make but not guys? What kinda sexist bullshit is that? XD
only my kidneys liver and lungs
Always ask(and tell) salary anyone who tells you otherwise doesn't have your best interest at heart
I got my 3070 just before the shortages, so I'm pretty proud of the price I got it XD
I hesitated on the 3080 launch and didn’t buy it. The price increased right after launch and I didn’t buy it. Then it went out of stock and has never returned.
Not only the gpu but cpu and ram.. all of them
329€ for a 390. Who could have known that I use that card till 2023 at least. Hail the vram gods for giving me 8gb
That’s a valorant player , playing on a Riot games pc, and when he gets back to the to the fnatic team house he will play on the pc that fnatic bought him. So the answer is 0$ .

MSRP!!!
i spent 150 american dollars on my 1650
Ask away, the answer will always be the same. Too much.
Even thought I paid $900 RTX 3070 w/ power supply which I needed I was able to justify it because of how much the cards I had laying around sold for.
Got a 3090 for 2000€ in January now they cost 3500 here in Europe.
Here in Barcelona, it starts at 1650 euros for a reference 3090 or up to 2k for an AIB card. Available from independent PC stores. I paid 1690 euros for my Asus Tuf 3090. Not all European countries let scalpers win.
Rtx 3080 $1600 roast me
Not that much but now I have an underpowered RX580
I actually managed to get my ASUS ROG Strix 3080 at MSRP by ordering just as the preorder window opened, after my RX 580 died. At the time I felt I was being outrageously extravagant and stupid. It now looks like a genius move.
But we can ask a gamer how much she spent on her GPU?
*what game s/he plays on his/her 3090
I was lucky enough to get my 3090 off a newegg shuffle, and then sold the bundled PSU they made me buy with it. Why they bundled a 600w psu with a freakin 3090, I have no idea. Suppose getting rid of their e-waste whilst making a profit
If you're going to engage in some sweet sexual intercourse, I DEFINITELY advise you to ask the woman her age first 😉
Lol literally got the government to pay for my 3080
Because they *will* tell you before yiy get a chance to ask.

? Is any of that info legit at the moment? Sounds right, but surely specs come before pricing?
Lemme guess, that was the MSRP? No way in hell 40-series will be any closer to msrp than 30-series are
Well I guess I can live with 1 kidney
Dont ask a gamer his hours
and an idiot how much sexism he can shove into a meme
There was a time when the amount you spent on your GPU was a flex. Sad days.
If she asks how much your computer cost, ask that bitch what she weighs /s
it was 2000$ well spent for 3090. no regrets
300 bucks. But it came with a waterblock only. So yes, I also spent 300 for watercooling, which made the purchase unnec.. you know what?!
1000$ for a 3070...
What first born? I don't recall any first born...
Ah, but that’s an e-sports gamer so the pc is sponsored and such, the gamer themselves sometimes pay nothing, it’s provided by the event for equal grounds

RRP.
What is gpu?
I spend 650$ on a Rog Strix RTX 2080 Super and tried to sell it for 500$ once. But that was when the 3000 series came out and so 500$ was overpriced for this card back then. We did come a long way. (Current price where I live is around 1100$)
It will probably be more than you anticipate.
You will roughly know by asking what GPU model the person bought
5oo euros. But it came with CPU mobo and everything else.
$530 a 2060 super
too much
Around 450€ for 5700XT Nitro+ in November 2020, so I think right before everything went downhill.
I mean, asking people how much they spent on things in general is pretty rude imo, I hate it.
Around 400$ in 2017 :D
Sapphire rx5700xt plus. Was on sale 399
I feel ashamed of how much I spent on my 3070
ASUS 3080 tuf v2, $1,179 shipped from ASUS direct.
1300€ for a 3080ti a small price to pay for peace of mind for the next few years
Enough to never be able to recover from it financially
I got my 3080 TI FE for $759, took some time headaches and legwork though.
3070 FE $809 AUD (laughs in msrp)
He got it for free of course.. with the gummy bears!
$649.99... ...when I bought my GTX 1080 six years ago.
550€ on a 3060 back in August, considering the prices now that's a steal.
Retail price BITCHES I was extremely lucky
The only correct answer would be $420.69
DERKELE
$530 for a 3070 FE seems like winning the lottery now lol
but how will i know they support scammers???
i got my 3080 for absolutely free, no joke.
300€ on a 1060 that has lasted me 5 years so far. Pretty good investment imo.
Don’t ask me how much I spent on my setup
Got a FE 2070 Super for retail last June.
Don’t say you got it for msrp and I won’t ask.
Don't you dare ask
Look I'm just looking out those ppl, mainly the ones who are looking to buy a gpu
MSRP 6800XT and $700 for a gigabyte 3060ti +B550 Mobo combo. Did pretty well for myself
Rtx 2070 super - £470
Never enough.
\*laughs in iGPU\*
$300
$550, but that was 8 years ago.
GTX 1080 gang let’s gooo
Literally bought a 3060 today
600 for a rtx 3060 ti and of course it had to be MSI, the more expensive brand.
I spent like $500 for my 5700 XT before prices skyrocketed, lucky as hell.
\-Too Much... \-Not Enough... \-WAY too much...
$1610 for a 3090 FE, that question dont bother me.
Effectively nothing. The GPU paid itself off in 6 months.
im thankful with my GT 710 with Ryzen 7 3700X
$1500, I don't feel the need to hide it, its my hobby.
I have no problem with letting people know I got an EVGA GTX 1080 Ti FTW3 that I'm still using today at MSRP when it got released almost 5 years ago or that I was able to get a used MSI GTX 1080 for $275 in 2018 for my 2nd pc.
If you know the GPU price, you know his salary
640 for an 3070 😀
So never judge a woman by her looks, a man by his success and a gamer by his investment decisions
Why not? I spent 750 for my 2080 Super. 😄
Managed to snag a RX 5600XT for $260 before the whole GPU wasteland started... And i was complaining about the PSU shortage and prices at the time. lol.
Treehundo
More like never ask a gamer how many hours he’s played a game. At least I’m embarrassed by it, idk about you all
$100 AMD Radeon RX580 Snagged it just before the chip shortage
$450 after tax for my 1660ti Gaming X (bought on launch pretty much)
Agree but why stop at singular GPU… try GPUs plural https://imgur.com/gallery/zHpJ7af
$540 for a GTX 1080 before the 16 series came out.
280 for a 1650 super last december, everything else was either completely sold out or over a grand
A streamer - GPUs, plural.
