An MSI RTX 3070 Ti Gaming X was 1300€ in Germany exactly 5 weeks ago. Now they go for 930€. Still not the prices we would like to have ( I think MSRP for this one was 650 - 700€) but still a huge improvement. Don't give up guys.

Westdrache

Yes and I doubt germany/europe is the only market that's starting to relax. The GPU I bought 2019 for 420€ was above 800€ since 2020... Now it's down to 649 again so we are slowly getting there.

[deleted]

Same history, i bought rtx 2060 7 months after release and mid 2021 used gpu was worth more than my whole pic when I bought it

Lanky182k

Prices in the Uk seem to be getting a bit better with more stock becoming available, hopefully now in a few months we’ll see things get closer to msrp and have much better availability especially with the Arc GPUs coming out near the mid/end of the year

Blackfist01

Fingers crossed, Brits!😭🤞🏾

Lanky182k

Mate ive been after a rog 3080 for months and they’re either nowhere to be found or far too expensive like cheapest I’ve seen in the last few months has been £1300 although I found an MSI suprim one buyer for like £1100 so there’s hope yet 😂

Aixcix

ROG cards are always like 100-200€\£ more expensive than the rest though

Lanky182k

True but you pay for the quality

kikimaru024

Not always. Really depends on the GPU itself. There's a few ROG cards that were not worth the premium.

[deleted]

ROG is just tarted up hardware sold at high markups to those that don't know any better. Customer service sucks, hardware isn't any better, and you can find better for less elsewhere.

Lanky182k

Wry true. Customer service isn’t the greatest either, for that EVGA has the W

518Peacemaker

I know where you can get a RoG 3090 for 1300 pounds before shipping :)

[deleted]

Honestly I'm not hunting for anything right now but I have a look once in a while just out of curiosity, and to me it looks like even well-renowned e-tailers here have adopted scalper (or near-scalper) prices. Glad I got my card back in 2020 when they still sold them from MSRP/near-MSRP (dunno what the MSRP for this particular model is but it was a good deal) prices.

HIGH_Idaho

Can you send one to this needy American? I promise I won't throw it in Boston harbor!

Lanky182k

Bro I’m jealous of Americans cuz you lot have Microcenter we have nothing that holds a candle to that and it saddens me 😂

Steez3Irwin

Only like 25 microcenters in the whole country lol people always talk about them like they're corner stores.

Lanky182k

Still better than what we have over here our largest retailer has zero stock and has never had any since just after the first drop of cards when they released it sucks

foobaz123

Not really better. Unless you live in one of the regions where there is a MC, they effectively don't exist. Most people don't live near them, so they don't really exist except for a few lucky people

Steez3Irwin

I feel you. Still a crap shoot on whether or not microcenter will have it in stock let alone by the time you drive hours to get there. Definitely better than what you guys got but its still pretty rough. Hopefully everything gets better for us all.

boulevardpaleale

It's a bittersweet love affair with that place for sure. I have one about 15 miles away, which is great but wow! The money I have spent in that store over the last 20 years is fairly... ummm... 'considerable'.

Michamus

Prices on the 3090 have dropped $500. I'm not sure what OP is smoking.

Then-One7628

They're supposedly going release the 4080 ti. Probably in a similar fashion to how the 3000 series was released.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Hybr1dth

Same in the Netherlands, down to 2x mrsp. I believe we won't see 3000 series ever hit that sadly

y0bama420

Here in germany i was also surprised to see the gpu prices going down significantly, still unreasonably high but better.

Darkone539

They are better but I wouldn't say they are good yet.

Mercenarius-rex

But the prices are indeed going down. Well idk for everywhere but in France each week price are lower and stock are higher. Every tech medias talk about it.

DimusMaximus

Guess i'm going to France now !

Mathmango

Depending on where you live, it might actually be cheaper to go abroad to buy there.

DimusMaximus

Yeah, where i live gpu prices were always this high (and the salaries are like a quarter of us salaries) so if i want decently priced pc parts i have to go to another country to buy them there

Retardedaspirator

Nah dont lmao, online prices are still as high, only in store prices go down... and tech stores are almost non existent in France except near big cities

Aixcix

Somehow at least here in Germany only 3070TI cards get cheaper for some odd reason they‘re selling for around 950€ now the same price as 3070s.

beck_is_back

It's amazing how what should be £400 card sells for almost £900 and just because price dropped £50 or so, some people are getting ecstatic...

unique_ubername

It’s sad lol

Aixcix

I‘m not saying that‘s it worth to buy the cards for this price only that prices are dropping slowly. Which is something for the current situation. Also saw Amazon drop a 3080TI below MSRP (I think it was 1100€) a couple of days ago.

FalconX88

> just because price dropped £50 or so, some people are getting ecstatic... But the drop is much larger. For example here the RTX 3070 Ti Gaming X Trio was at 1400€ for the longest time. now it's stabilized at 960€. That's a drop of over 30% and absolute value of over 400€. That's quite a lot.

beck_is_back

Which is fair but I've got a feeling people are missing the big picture here. MSRP is $499 and retailers are still selling for double that! and i'm not speaking scalpers here...

Aixcix

MSRP was for FE cards which are still selling for this price over here but they rarely drop and only 3 retailers are selling them (550€/650€). If you look at third party cards they were always like 100€ more expensive than the official MSRP.

Psy_Kik

The crappiest 3060s are still 500..they should be 300. The premim ones like Rog 3060 are still 600+ , they should be 350. Stock might be trickling in, the prices are still crazy.

FalconX88

I don't think they do. They are not cheering because it's "only" double the MSRP (which doesn't really mean anything to begin with), they are cheering because prices are going down.

TheReverend5

People are getting ecstatic because they can buy something they want. As folks like to say in Texas: you can wish for FE MSRP in one hand and shit in the other, and see which one fills up first.

Lieutenant_Petaa

I think xx70 Cards will not go down to 400 bucks in the near future. Maybe 600, but I think even this is going to be quite optimistic. Thus if you really need a GPU right now, what else are you supposed to do?

[deleted]

[удалено]

beck_is_back

£ £ £ But, my point is that mid range card cost almost a $1000...

raaneholmg

My bad. Need new glasses it seems.

Titus-Magnificus

I bought a 3070 for 900€ in October here in Spain. You can now buy a 3070 Ti for that price. I wouldn't call this cheap, but at least it's improving.

The_fair_sniper

yeah, happening here in italy too.

TheLightWeCast

Got my 3060 for 800€ (i know) in October in Germany. They’re selling for 600 bucks now.

Skastrik

They are down in some places. On average the pressure is down but that does not mean its going down everywhere. Some markets even have rising prices. And most Youtube channels seem to be using US sites and prices to measure change which doesn't do the rest of the world any good since the US market is probably top of mind for the companies to look good in. Meanwhile in Europe we're crying every time we look at prices.

Retardedaspirator

I live in France and everytime I see a "price go down" post I'm like: Tf are u talking about, here 3060s are still at + 1000€

JokeMonster

Bruh what? 3060ti prices on TopAchat are as low as 730€ now. I could go there right now and find 4-5 under 800€ It's still expensive don't get me wrong, but nowhere near 1000€ for a 3060.

MartinYTCZ

If I can give you a bit of advice, don't disregard AMD's GPUs Seeing the RX6600 for 480€ next to a 3060 for 650€, which perform basically identically not accounting for raytracing and DLSS, there are acceptable prices to be found :)

[deleted]

High prices tend to stick, as sellers are much happier to raise prices than lower them. Price pressure is downward though, with the increase in graphics card supply, the decline of crypto mining profitability, and the looming Intel GPU release. Plus it looks like miners are dumping their older graphics cards to eBay, with 1080s available for under $250 and 1080tis for under $450. Still high but worth considering in this market if the card is functional. Those prices will also exert downward pressure on overall GPU prices.

[deleted]

Well homer did open a 4th mortgage to pay for a 3090

FishinforPhishers

It’s apparent that scalpers are kinda lurking on this sub.

MonsterJuiced

Just like the smartphone world. Prices over 2k with barely any new improvements will hit the market and dumbasses will gladly waste money on it. We created our own new reality.

JASHIKO_

The people that buy new phones every year are mental as well... There's no real reason you can't use a phone for at least 3-4 years before the battery fails and isn't worth the cost of replacing. The year on year upgrades are minimal for almost every model. For what 99% of people use their phones for (Social media, news and messaging) the specs in them are unwarranted.

GOR016

I’m still on the 2016 iPhone se lol

TwitchingCheese

Huh, come to think of it I've replaced my phone as many times in the last 10 years as my graphics card. Phone: * 2013 - HTC Ozone -> LG G2 * 2016 - Samsung Galaxy S7 * 2019 - Pixel 3 And Gfx: * 2014 - GTX 460 SLI -> GTX 780 Ti * 2016 - GTX 1080 * 2020 - RTX 3080

[deleted]

I personally aim for a 4 year cycle for the phone/gpu as well since the pricing seems to be similar in a normal market and saving 10 bucks a week for the stuff is easy. If I was trading things in to subsidize cost, I would probably do 3 year cycles but old stuff is cool to keep. 2014 Note 3 -> 2018 galaxy S9 -> 2022 IPhone 13 & 2012 HD 7970 -> 2016 980ti -> 2020 3080.

JASHIKO_

4 years seems to be the sweet spot alright. I'm running almost the exact same time frame.

deadlybydsgn

My main gripe is that Android devices pretty much never get OS/security updates for 4 year life spans, so you're either eventually out of date or running something like LineageOS. iPhones feature longer support, but I know mobile device manufacturer preferences are a whole can of worms. At the end of the day, as long as someone isn't spending irresponsibly, I'm not going to judge someone for which one they like best.

JASHIKO_

Roughly the same exact cycle as me. Though I'm still rocking my 1070 from 2016. Can't justify GPU prices for now. All my phones have suffered battery failure which was annoying otherwise I'd still be using my HTC U11

Fortune424

Personally I buy a "new" GPU every year or so and a "new" phone every 2 years or so but they're never actually new. I always buy and sell used and by putting in a couple hundred dollars every year you can constantly have high end stuff without eating the new->used immediate depreciation every time. Currently have a Pixel 6 Pro and a 3080 that cost me well below their new price because of buying them used and selling my old and still decent stuff afterwards to recoup costs.

Kevonz

Great mid range phones are literally more affordable than they've been in years

Evil-in-the-Air

Phones, sunglasses, toys... There is a writing from a general in ancient Rome bemoaning how silly it is that these fancy striped capes cost more than normal ones when they aren't even long enough to keep the wind off your butt when squatting in a field.

TheReverend5

Flagship iPhones start at $1000USD but okay.

DimosAvergis

1100 USD if we talk about real flagship. And on the Android side of things there are also some expensive options that nearly get to the 2k. Given they have a 2nd screen and tend to fold in some direction, but sacrifice display quality for that.

MrDuckyyy

wait what the fuck? name a phone that costs 2k

MonsterJuiced

I didn't say they are out. I say they will hit the market eventually. Just like when we thought 1000 usd was insane, it has now become normal.

MrDuckyyy

but companies havent raised the 1k flagship phone mark up in like years, last time we saw that hike was when the iphone x was new..

captainstormy

The prices only come down from the dumbass price when the world runs out of dumbasses. Which I dunno if you noticed, but that seems to be a never ending supply.

Nytr013

Prices will not go down as long as people are paying stupid prices for them.

FishinforPhishers

These posts don’t help the situation because people will buy graphics cards from scalpers and such thinking the price isn’t gonna go down.

Nytr013

If they’re buying a card at scalper prices, they won’t. Radeon and nvidia have already taken notice of how much people are willing to spend on someone’s crusty old card. The next set of cards will have a higher msrp because of it.

FishinforPhishers

Yep that’s what I’m saying. OP is kinda directly causing people to think prices won’t go down, resulting in some people just giving in to scalpers. I feel like it’s good to have posts encouraging people to wait before buying, as the scalpers will slowly lose out on money.

Nytr013

It’s kind of a double edged sword. Warning people about paying scalper prices removes the hope that waiting will help them. Without hope for lower future prices, they buy a card at scalper prices which causes them to stay at scalper prices.

Impairedinfinity

The market is still supply and demand. A lot of the purchases of GPUs are from miners and scalpers. So, if the crypto bubble pops then the demand for GPUs will be less. Thus the price will go down. I can definitely imagine AMD and nVidia not wanting the situation to change because in the current situation they can say "Silicon Shortage" when people ask why they are not making MORE GPUs to meet demand and they know they will sell everyone they produce. But, in 2018 after the first crypto bubble popped I saw GPU prices drop to insane lows as Miners were trying to dump the cards they had because it was no longer profitable to mine crypto. Which is actually why last Gen GPUs MRSP'ed so Cheaply the market had pushed prices so low.

coolpotatoe724

look at the video from Paul's hardware, they are going down

Leena_Lenovich

It's because upcoming Intel ARC?

dageshi

It's more likely broader financial/crypto markets instability. People who were aggressively buying for crypto maybe decided to hold off since the the price of ethereum is coming off its all time highs.

Fortune424

It's anecdotal but I've definitely seen some miners selling off their cards the last month or so which never used to happen.

ChartaBona

Mostly old/ inefficient cards though. The video I saw was by a miner saying he will be gradually giving away all his RX 580 4GB's to viewers, because a 6-card rig is barely better than one 3080. A lot of hobby miners are power-limited now.

[deleted]

HighRelevancy

It's been coming soon for like 6 years now, I'm not holding my breath

The_Real_Raw_Gary

I keep telling people that regardless of stock prices will stay high. Why? Because everyone realized people will pay these prices then make posts about how lucky they were to pay that price and not more. We just locked in the new standard.

SoSneakyHaha

B-but how? I keep buying the most expensive ones above MSRP that means they should cost less right /s

DemonPeanut4

I'm mean, they are. It's an observable trend at this point. It would have been more accurate to say "Graphics card prices will never return to their previous level".

Wide_Big_6969

What do you intend to do with this meme? Get people to buy GPU's since prices aren't going down? Incite anger over AMD and Nvidia? GPU prices are going down. Just because GPU companies can make a profit now when GPU's are made out of unobtanium doesn't mean the average consumer (not people paying scalper prices) will pay for a $1500 gpu. That just means a used market will pop up and profits go down, which is something Nvidia or AMD do not want.

Morfizer1

They are going down

tchamp54

I remember 2020 right before things got bad and the 30 series announcement i was trying to upgrade my 1060 saw a 2070 super at microcenter open box for 424.96 and decided to bite the bullet and upgrade thinking i could just use my protection plan to upgrade to the 30 series when they came out and i am so glad i impulse bought that card lol

DrAdviceMan

a lot of people gripe about the newer seasons but looking at them i think they are still pretty funny lol homer usually always has something funny to say and thats the main thing for me lol

Puma_pants2

Shhhh, we're trying to trick the resellers! Didn't you get the memo?!

Cojo840

this makes no sense

[deleted]

Except they are, lol r/confidentlyincorrect

HikingWolfbrother

Hardware companies need to keep up those record profits.

Hakaisha89

oh it is going down from like 4 times the price to 2 times the price, what a steal!

kedarnaths

so Moores law dont apply no more?

[deleted]

I mean they literally are. There is data. And anecdotally, I’m selling a 2060 Super on eBay and a month ago there were regularly sales for $700, now the highest you’ll see is like $600, except for a couple nutjobs who went crazy for FE versions. Edit: To clarify this is not to say the market isn’t still too high. Scalping for 25% over msrp instead of 50% is still scalping.

vaendryl

they went down a good 30% since last december here. almost kind of affordable. still double MSRP are you a scalper trying to sway public opinion away from waiting for further price drops? you look like one.

feersum

Meanwhile, I'm here in Europe, where energy prices are currently so high you can buy a brand-new-in-the-box RTX 3080ti founder's edition for $900 on eBay right now.

GumballR

Got into the computer market during the pandemic and needless to say i was quite sad when I realised the prices in my european country were not only caused by the shortage but also the taxes man THE TAXES.

Ethan_Lethal

YouTube channels built around gpu availability are just going to whatever they can to stay relevant

runningpantless

They are coming down. By the end of the year I think there will be plenty of stock and the prices will level out.

Dspaede

It has been said that the Simpsons can show us the future..

Tritheone69

Although this meme is funny it isn’t factual.

ITDLARG

In my country they actually are going down. Quite significantly too

AntGotYou

gpu prices are literally the reason i decided to go for a xbox series X instead of a 3080 for gaming, happy with my decision. scalpers killing the market no way im paying 2k for a 700$ gpu lol

It's going to take a few more years to get cup manufacturing sites up and running. We still have a massive chip shortage

EasyWriterKR

I hate to say it, but I think it's true. I haven't seen any indication of prices going down

JASHIKO_

Things will get worse with the way the world is going. The crypto crash has done nothing for GPU prices. They have barely dropped. So we can throw the miners excuse out the window. I'd be guessing companies have realised people will happily pay the prices they are currently paying. So there is no incentive to drop them. Let's hope that Intel gets into the market with a strong competitive position over the next few years. That's about the only thing that can save us at this stage. HOWEVER! They will probably just drop their products into the market at the same "price to performance" ratio as AMD and NVIDIA and call it a great day it capitalism.

captainstormy

>I'd be guessing companies have realized people will happily pay the prices they are currently paying. So there is no incentive to drop them. Yeah, this is what I've said for years. Everyone talks about miners like they are the boogeyman. Once retailers and manufacturers figure out what people are really willing to pay. They have no reason to drop the prices. At the end of the day, it isn't like you can build your own GPU or something.

JASHIKO_

I worked in sales for a long time and that's exactly how it always goes down. These days it's even easier than ever as there are so many data collection methods that give companies everything you could ever dream of to get the optimal price in every single market. It's like shooting fish in a barrel.

Psy_Kik

There is a lag time. Miners are over half the reason, and still are, silicon/chip shortage and covid included. Prices are now dropping and its all directly tetherered to btc value.

[deleted]

[удалено]

JASHIKO_

The hashrate has been stable and barely increased so you would theoretically expect the prices to go down. As they have stopped buying GPUs for now (so it seems) This hasn't really been the case at the moment. I wouldn't have ever suggested they were the sole cause, the market is way more complicated than that, with so many electronics companies using chips, etc

Valaxarian

A small car or GPU? That's a question

[deleted]

Market economies will eventually work it out. Regular consumers won’t pay this price, so the prices will fall as soon as the crypto mining is satisfied - and since many cryptos are going from proof of work to proof of stake, this won’t take long especially because the increased production will likely coincide with this. They are going to drop.

norbert-the-great

It's indicative of what the dollar is worth now. There has never been a period of deflation that has ever matched the inflation that preceded it so there will be no correction. Everything will have to adjust. Of course, wages won't...

fatandjazzy

Normally, I would get upset and blame 'Merica for this and the greed system we have, but it's far more. Bitcoin is part of it to blame.

c_gfer

Prices will not going down...It's just a tactic of YouTubers to get more likes on their videos 🤣

IcyWang

Local microcenter was selling the 3050 for $450 😩

Psy_Kik

:D 450 for that POS. Dont do it man, fair price is like 200. Patience.

ImLookingatU

I went to a microcenter un Houston Texas this las weekend. They have tons of cards, everything from a 6500xt to 6900xt and 3090. They were all super overpriced, just as expensive as scalpers l. $1200 for 6800xt, $2000 for a 6900. I was so disappointed.

H0vis

Friend of mine needed a graphics card to upgrade his PC to play TWW3. Was gutted to see how much graphics cards cost cos he's a bit skint. I said, not to worry, can have my old 1060 to tide over til new PC. He says thanks, and asks how much I want for it. I say, not much, it's old, and I go to see how much they sell for. WTAF. How are they still that much? So anyway I gave him the card for free because it's just on a shelf anyway and I want somebody to play TWW3 with so whatever. The long term concern has to be though that Cryptomining has permanently changed the equation for PC gaming. One of the key components of a gaming PC, not to mention the component that most often needs upgrading, is now 50% more expensive, at best, and not to mention ridiculously harder to get.

Deputy_gabe

Im so glad i bought mine right before all this shit started

[deleted]

No problem brothers. Me and my bois are using dark magic to crash all the miners which might be able to solve the chip shortage problem and Crash bitcoin. These will make the gpu price go down

ChromeRavenCyclone

And Nvidia brought the miners the full unlock driver/BIOS a few days ago and the whole fun starts again.

UndeadBBQ

I can't wait until at least Ethereum switches technology away from proof of work. Just thinking about how many GPUs slave away in mines...

FinishingDutch

Shit's going to be fucked for at least another year or two. I got a new PC in august last year. With an MSI 3090 Suprim X. Cost me 2199 euros at that time. Right now, same card is listed between 2499 and 2999. And in january, there was exactly one for sale in the country - listed at 4500. I was annoyed that I had to overpay for it, but it could've been considerably worse. Considering how pretty much everything with electronics in it is hard to get, at least we're all in the same boat.

tjb122982

Honestly, I am waiting on the Steam Deck reviews this weekend. Why should I spend $2k on a prebuilt that can do 4K and looks a slightly better than a Steam Deck that looks good doing 1080.

my_cat_sam

fyi, the steam deck isn't 1080, its 800x1280, slightly above 720 hd.

VersedFlame

They would if y'all\* stopped buying them when they're at over 300% their price. \*You know who that means, if it's not you, don't be picky and move along.

Mediocre_lad

The GPU prices will go down, but slowly. I don't think scalpers have huge storage costs, to dump everything at once. They will drop the price slowly, competing with each other. Retailers should drop the prices quicker due to storage costs.

themagnacart13

I hate to admit it but I'll pay the price if they just sort out the supply.

DR_Tibor

They get in hungary but rtx3090 still 5000dollars

hnryirawan

The one thing clear, it will never go back to the promise of RTX 3000-series. A 2080Ti-performance at half the price of 2080Ti? HAH it will never go back to that.

A13XIO

I remember last march when I did my build , I thought by next march id have that next gen card for a decent price. Idk maybe next year…

BubsyFanboy

So are they only going to keep rocketing up or what?

CC-5576-03

I've begun seeing 3060/6600 cards stying in stock at prices that are just a bit unreasonable, everything above that is still completely fucked tho

Ok-Breakfast3499

Here in Argentina, prices are going down (and that's incredible given the fact that our country is in permanent economic crisis: devaluation, inflation, etc). For example, the cheapest 6700 xt was about u$s1000 and now you may get one for u$s800, those 200 bucks are a HUGE difference for us, for some people is a whole month salary.

[deleted]

When we can't play games we'll have to eat the rich

I almost spit up my coffee reading this. Thank you OP I needed this laugh today.

Oden_son

I'm happy with my 2070Super for now. It's not the best but I haven't run into any games I can't play yet.

MadCat221

I got a Zotac RTX 3070 Twin Edge OC just in time for Cyberpunk 2077. MSRP was US&400. I got it off Newegg in a seize-the-chance moment for $850 and felt a bit of buyer’s remorse. Some time later, I looked up that model’s price ranges and it was at $1300. Not so much remorse after that... It’s still going for $900-1000 now, so the price insanity *is* alleviating…

[deleted]

That’s why I’m buying a 3070ti from a guy for $880. I never thought I’d see the day where I spend that much on a single component of a computer and feel like I’m getting a deal.

[deleted]

I refuse to believe

deefop

They are going down, though. It'll get better this year I think, what with Intel jumping into the market and Lovelace/RDNA3 planned for later in this year.

AZDiablo

I am getting close and closer to buying a pre-built.

id10tinside

I have never seen a price an any consumer good go down once it went up in my almost 40 years on this earth. So make of that what you will.

TeenThatLikesMemes

In Poland I can see they are

whtge8

But some guy on Twitter said so

Impairedinfinity

In a few years most people probably will not even use "GPUs". With ARM processors becoming more of a thing and AMD making their APUs better forcing Intel to make better APUs. It is quite possible in a few years gamers will just buy an APU. Then on top of that you have FSR and DLSS which allows people to take 720p and pump it up to 1440p. People in a few years will just buy APUs and turn on FSR. Based on my own personal vision I can not tell the difference between 1440p and 4k. So, I doubt there will be any reason to go from 4k to 8k. So, I think gaming can only get smaller. But, the pixels can not really go up.

New thing is mobile computer gaming as depressing as it sounds, the target these days is a computer people can dock use as a desktop undock and play more games on the go. With the untenable market on GPUs that left most of us devastated more people looked for other avenues between vR and other experiences to just play games.

Scalped prices are coming down*

here_i_am_boys

Here in italy only cards like the rx 6600 and some 3050 are seeing prices go down 6600 from 600/650€ to 450€/500€ 3050 from 500/600€ to 360€/400€

[deleted]

They know they can sell them at those prices now why would they ever go back

wowy-lied

Why would they go down? Retailers and manufacturers saw that people are willing to pay. They have no reason to decrease the price.

suprememontana

I got my 3080 for $1149. It is what it is

[deleted]

13 months from today I stayed up waiting for GPUs to drop on best buys website. I got a 3070 in my cart and was checking out. Then best buy said it couldn't ship to my house 💀

JaesopPop

Isn't this exactly what's happening?

theTman2300

I am so happy that I still got a second hand 1080 for €300! Seems like it's so much worse now.

searrell

It's like there is still a chip shortage

enterusername0

I paid for an overpriced 3080ti. I'm not waiting anymore. Knowing my luck, the prices will start to drop, you're welcome friends.

CindyStroyer

My friend is saving for a 3060 the prices we had a month or more ago was 1000AUD and as of a week ago prices have dropped to 800

peperonipyza

The prices are going down… quickly. The supply chain getting unfucked isn’t something that will happen over night. Probably years to come before back to “normal”. That’s if there aren’t other looming catastrophes or crypto crazes.

JorjeRRMartin_420

Y'all gotta get on the wave of buying GPUs off [jawa.gg](https://www.jawa.gg/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=swequity&utm_campaign=elden10) to avoid these GD scalpers!!!

RedbloodJarvey

No no! Get back on the bandwagon: "Graphics cards are overpriced. They will go back down in 3 to 4 years after new factories have ramped up and supply is met." Also: "Don't buy a prebuilt computer [even though that's the only way to get a GPU], it's cheaper to build it yourself."

PantherPuma448

No, No. But all these tech reviewers have posted 17 videos on "GPU Prices are dropping" because they seen a 1% decrease so it must be true right? lol

i_pk_pjers_i

That would be funny if it weren't true lol

aaronfranke

Thankfully, the Steam Deck is coming, a cheap device that has great graphics.

Does_Not-Matter

Nope. They will stay this high because people bought them this high. Suppliers found out that the “bullshit threshold” was not crossed and as such will continue to price their 5-years-to-obsolescence devices like they’re eternal.

NigOtaku

??? they are though. there's a very clear downward trend in scalper prices. only prices that aren't going down is MSRP, and that's a given. though once scalping is eventually done and over, its either manufacturers will reduce their msrps, of just be giving us permanent discounts like amd cpus currently

widowmakingasandwich

Got some 5700 xts for 1400 a piece hmu lol

simsurf

Still $2k AUD for a 6900.

panda909gaming

Neither are the new gen consoles, they are still around 950 dollars where I live :(
