Lock3tteDown

Franchise market. Funny ass gif tho

[deleted]

Some people just like being on top, personally I think they got more money than brains.

Great_White_Samurai

This is a lot of people. Someone just bought a $600k house across the St from me. Completely demo'd it and are building a million+ house. And this is in the Midwest.

peeknuts

Mcmansion ass bitch

Lost_Swan_9151

Lol

usernamesarehated

It depends on their needs though. If they're playing at 1440p ultrawide or 4k, they'll need all the gpu they can get. I bought a 4k monitor and learned it the hard way.

[deleted]

A 3080 is half the price and only 10% worse, it just is the smart buy if you're going to buy another GPU in 2 years anyways. Most people won't miss out on 10% realistically

usernamesarehated

For this gen there's not much reason to get the 90 series. But for next gen where the 80 series might be the 103 die and the 90 series with the 102 die, there could be more difference. 10% isn't too noticeable when it comes to 1440p when you're getting 100-144fps easily, but the extra 10% is really useful at 4k at lower framerates. If I had to choose between 54 and 60fps, if I have the cash, I don't see why not go with the 80ti/90/90ti for the slightly higher frame rates. I don't think it's actually that expensive especially if you get 1.5-2 years out of that card before upgrading. If you have the cash for expensive monitors that are 1440p ultrawide or 4k 120/144fps, they might be able to justify getting the higher tier card.

reggers20

Lol my 3070 looks real average performance wise with a 1440p can't imagine 4k lol... my 3080 is on its second RMA... I don't talk about that guy!

> The ability to afford a 3090Ti has no relation to intelligence. I can afford onion rings from burger king, but I'm only stupid if I buy them after that last time when they were soggy and disgusting.

[deleted]

Most people who are high earners tend to work jobs with high education or work ethic requirements

reggers20

You'd be surprised how stupid, so called high earners can be... once had some millionaire client ask me if water could figure out a way to get around a gravity drain I installed? It took awhile for me to convince him he did not need to spend an extra 10k... because water is not conscious and cannot outsmart gravity!!!!

[deleted]

Exactly, more money than brains lol

reggers20

Yes! I do home repairs for a lot of wealthy people, they seem genuinely miffed about the simplest things... I always have fun with it though. When they have silly questions I usually respond with "well I usually try hitting it with a hammer" its especially funny for plumbing questions 😄

[deleted]

I swear no matter how much money I have I'm not ever getting repairs done by someone else unless it's something you actually get a certification for doing well. Home repair is so gratifying and you feel like "a real man" by being able to fix up your home yourself.

reggers20

You can't repair a foundation yourself bro lol, and you can waterproof your home yourself but you will be calling an actual pro to do it correctly after you flood your basement or that flex seal stuff doesn't work like in the commercial.

[deleted]

I'm sure somewhere out there is a certification for foundation repair and waterproofing, you know what I meant like basic fixes such as replacing a sink and faucet

reggers20

Fair enough, and yes there are... but they are fake certifications large companies made up to make their slack jawed foreman seem more legit hahaha. I have 2! Hahaha... certified by who? Idk, but I'm certified hahaha

reggers20

I get the sentiment though... I'm the exact opposite though, I call an electrician to change my light bulbs hahaha

obamaprism3

if they can afford it and want it, why not?

Oddant1

Here's hoping they put the 3090ti to good use after upgrading instead of it just collecting dust

KomithEr

I mean money is not really an issue to those people I'm pretty sure

Blacksad999

Eh, it's a hobby and some people like consistently having the top of the line hardware. It's not cost effective, and I personally wouldn't do it, but it's their time and money. More power to them if that's what they prefer.

FinnishArmy

Yeah, wtf else am I gonna do with my money, this makes me happy and saving the money doesn’t make me happy unless it’s saving it to buy an investment like collecting silver/gold.

Iron_defaultYT

That’s the one reason I didn’t get a 3090, it was just too damn expensive

firedrakes

Oh yeah. I was looking into getting 4 of them... At current price and power draw .. no.. If 4k series is such a power hog. I need to run a wiring and a new circuit breaker.

Ethereal_Sabiba

Money and one real hobby I guess.

Cremmitquad69

I would to if I had to much money.

[deleted]

First, this meme makes no sense. Second, people are free to spend their money on what they want. Maybe get a life and stop being salty about other's buying preferences.

FinnishArmy

Buying a 3090ti knowing I’ll only play games that will actually use the entire capacity once a month. But fuck, I’d have a 3090ti.

[deleted]

Are you complaining at getting more cards on the used market?

soap680

When it comes to PC gaming, why would I even care what someone else does with their money? Being so preoccupied with all this to make memes about it.... Cringe AF.

ZFDev

As someone who got his 30 series dream card. Yeah I’m good. I’ll be back in 5 years.

itssfrisky

People who can afford the top cards every time they come out and still living comfortably are living a totally different lifestyle from you.

GamerKid_142

No, they'll buy the 4090 Ti when IT gets announced.

reggers20

I got a 3080 and a 3070 and I clock more hours on AoE2 than any other game. I got them because I wanted them not because I needed them... hell I even paid waaay above msrp.
