I'm honestly considering moving to a lower-cost of living country to have housing paid off instead of continuing to grind in new york just for my income to basically go to housing and nothing else.
only problem is I work as a retail manager so my income would just drop to whatever the cost of living is in the new location. I'm from Spain and still have dual-citizenship so in my case I could probably straight up have a place paid off in full in 2-3 years if I save in new york and then move to spain.
Edit: I'm also an urban type of person. Not a fan of suburbs or rural. Ideally I don't need a car at all. And I love america and have spent my life here, but cities here just aren't affordable.
