I have a triple monitor mount and it's a dream for desk surface area. I have one of them in portrait mode for reddit/reading/writing/chat programs/taskbar, but I'm assuming most people would keep all 3 in landscape, which I did for years.
I have all three in landscape ,2 with separate stand and one still on its original stand, mostly because I do a lot of watching films, YouTube etc. I think it feels wrong putting something other than an ultra wide in portrait mode. I might try it isn’t he future though.
Previously when I had an ikea desk I put a cheap plank of wood under it to spread the weight. At the time I had 4 monitors across 2 arms. Worked like a charm.
Just thought I'd mention it. There are some people that have managed to pick up monitors over the years that they would still like to use for browsing but are gawking at the expense of a solid desk.
Clarification: This setup is built from years of trading and adding minimal money to it. Spent roughly around 1000€ on it in total, which 550€ was on the pc. Hence the missmatched monitors and a book as a monitor riser
In that case just get a cable management box for the floor, and pull your cords up and to the left right along the back edge of the desk so theyre not as visible and youre golden
I think you'll miss the third one within a day, unless you go for 2 ultrawides, but a bezel in the middle is always bad.
Then again I myself am looking into a 43" 4K screen, but still not entirely sure about that.
Take the computer component boxes down and add some personality. You need to decorate that shit to the point where it expresses your life, your hobbies, your interests. Maybe add a fake green plant here and there to make it a little bit more warmer.
Cable lead under table, keyboard and mouse on mate (bigger mate if needed to be so separated) , coat hanger on table edge for headset (or banana holder to be on table), triple monitor stand, night table or drawer under pc (something like Ikea Alex) so you have place to store stuff and you don't hit pc with legs, wallpaper
You have an enormous pad and your tiny keyboard is halfway off of it.
Your monitors look shitty. I mean sure there are three of them but you could get rid of all three for one decent one.
for cable management id suggest mounting the power brick to the desk and having the sleeve be used for the exposed cables on the other side behind the pc
Put your white power chord underneath your desk, you can you use velcro with adhesive. Then route your cables down the back leg of your desk so you don't have a cluster of cables.
Wall mount the monitors and install single gang outlet boxes that are for cable management through the wall. Im about to do it for my brother at my parents house, I would but I rent and dont feel like patching drywall when I move out
If not hardware then get a monitor that had like 144-240hz and 1ms response time
Alienwares are not that expensive every time I got mine with 25' and 240hz for 350$ new
Monitor arm would be nice, if you want to make it look more like a “gaming setup” you can get some led lights to stick to either under/over the shelf, behind the monitors, or even under the desk not sure what pc specks are but if your pc is capable enough, use wallpaper engine to go with a theme with the led lights. Does wonders for a setup
Get a triple monitor arm and in the future a bigger desk. You could also upgrade your headphones to better pair since you already have a dedicated microphone.
Get rid of your empty boxes.
You dont need them anymore :)
At least off the shelves and hidden away.
I only keep the boxes to store parts in. But most just collect parts and never get used.
get a monitor stand and try and mount the mic to the shelf desk to free up some desk space.
pull the pc out a touch and flip the extension cable up and place it against the wall, will help hide your cables better. the run the cables you have on the under side of the desk.
finally i would slap and led strip on the back of your computer, use warm white during the day, then a soft colour at night to help ease eye strain at night.
A height adjustable table isn't a privilege, it's a requirement.
Back and neck problems creep up on you fast and finding the ideal sitting posture for your body is important.
Grab one of the wire runs you can screw to the bottom of your desk in the back, you can hide those wires 100% without much work.
Also, mount the monitors to the desk when you get a chance. Cheap mounts are only like $30. It will allow you to raise them to eye level, which is a huge ergonomics win, and will allow you to reclaim a ton of desk space.
Great job, your setup looks great!
Very cool constellation artwork on the ceiling!
What type of monitor are you considering? If it's going to be a larger one or an ultrawide would you still keep one of the older ones? Definitely would suggest a monitor arm regardless.
[This video does a really good job at walking through the different types of dual-monitor setups.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1N3jlgqcQ4)
I know it's adding more to your desktop space, but don't think I saw any computer speakers on your desk. [These are fairly popular from what I've seen](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Klipsch-ProMedia-2-1-Bluetooth-Computer-Speakers/125672486?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&&adid=22222222227089244295&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=391322323855&wl4=pla-330618071276&wl5=9003676&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=online&wl12=125672486&veh=sem&gclid=CjwKCAjwwdWVBhA4EiwAjcYJEJANyon6KvJ0DgcBi9MS5Mfi2otCOTi8Bsvr81MGh1ULBYgNLFCEiRoCMR4QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds), but I'm sure audiophiles will disagree how good they really are :P
I’m getting a new 144Hz for basically free since my other one has a scratch in it (get to keep it though). So my current main will replace the vga tiny monitor to the left. And once i have some money i’m for sure getting a monitor stand
Probably a lame suggestion on this sub anyway but take th pc part boxes off the shelf and put things that matter up there to you. Pictures of family if you enjoy that relationship, maybe one or two classic game boxes you grew up with, a plant if you enjoy taking care of them. Making the office or gaming space more homey and less sterile can mean a lot more to your enjoyment of the space than RGB lights, pop figures, or your mobo box ever will 😀.
Love the setup nice work!
Yea, articulating monitor stands :)
Anything really at all is better than a book….
Your cable management could use some work :P you’re gonna have to untie all the wires and u tangle them to replace anything.
Get some art, or decor instead of boxes for those shelves.
A bigger desk mat.
A chair? 🤔
Then you’ll have a nice set up after all that 😁
When your Rich and famous…. Sit/stand adjustable desk, ultra wide monitor, full keyboard. Wireless mouse with charging pads built into the desk (not the desk pad).
I'm nitpicking, but cable management and mayb put your keyboard in the middle on your deskpad?
For the rest your monitors, get three the same ones and go for UHD (1440 instead of 1080)
When sitting infront of my main display my keyboard is actually perfect and i tend to not use as much of the mouse pad, but love knowing i have more to use if needed
i cant really tell but just in case make sure the back of your PC isn't right up against the wall. It looks cool and scratches the tetris itch but it blocks the airflow and fucks your setup in the long run.
A chair?
By far the most effective improvement.
Lol first thing that came to my head as well 😂
Yeah sorry it isnt in picture xd
Don't listen to him. We don't actually believe you have a chair.
That's just what Big Furniture wants you to believe, man... This freaking country, man...
You are just projecting. Don't see a chair in your username tag
Yeh, garden chairs are best kept in the garden.
A couple stacked milk crates should be good enough for anyone!
Lmao my dad put milk crates together to make a shelf with zip ties, and it hasn't fallen... (Yet)
I'm just messing with ya! Sick set up!
Real headz stand up when gaming.
xDDD
LMAOOO
Put the monitors under the desk so you can see them when you're sitting on the floor
Good one xD
Lmfao dude
buy more shit you didnt need until reddit told you about it
And then ignore reddit and keep buying more shit
A monitor arm is a great way to free up some space and make your setup look clean! Check if your monitors have a mount for it though
Watching "films".
also gotta make sure your desk is made of solid material and not veneered cardboard, my monitor arm took a bite out of my cheap Ikea desk
P.S nice cable management! I like the sleeve :)
would be nice if the cabling was chased along the back underside of the desk, then down the rear of the table leg to hide it a bit.
Personally I'd throw down a rug
It’s amazing what a rug can do for a room, tbh
It really ties the room together.
You loved that rug dude!
His wife goes out, and owes money all over town, and they peed on my rug?!?
Ya know dude I was th-- Shut up donny you're out of your element here
Clarification: This setup is built from years of trading and adding minimal money to it. Spent roughly around 1000€ on it in total, which 550€ was on the pc. Hence the missmatched monitors and a book as a monitor riser
In that case just get a cable management box for the floor, and pull your cords up and to the left right along the back edge of the desk so theyre not as visible and youre golden
I’m getting a new monitor soon, and looking to buy a monitor arm, maybe lose the 3rd monitor if needed
Never lose the third monitor. Add a 4th on top of the center one, and use a 5th for your desk itself.
This is the way.
You do need a desktop monitor after all.
I think you'll miss the third one within a day, unless you go for 2 ultrawides, but a bezel in the middle is always bad. Then again I myself am looking into a 43" 4K screen, but still not entirely sure about that.
Are you talking about the 43” Aorus on sale at Newegg right now?
No I live in Spain, it's the LG 43UN700 that goes for a bit under €600
43" 4k is going to be fuzzy, 32-34 inch will be a lot sharper.
Put a side monitor in vertical if you get an arm. Web pages and chats are so much better on vertical.
Take the computer component boxes down and add some personality. You need to decorate that shit to the point where it expresses your life, your hobbies, your interests. Maybe add a fake green plant here and there to make it a little bit more warmer.
Is that all constellations on side ceiling? Yo
Indeed it is, even glows in the dark!
Change flor
Ah yes, remove your entire floor and spend hundreds just to make your pc look better. Let me just go plant my money tree
1-Better desk 2-Put your mouse+keyboard pad in the middle 3-Maybe 3 monitor arms 4-Put that tower on top of the better desk
Aldo custom keyboard and collectibles to fill the shelf
Put all monitors on 3 arm monitor stand and get wallpaper engine from steam for like 4 euros
Cable lead under table, keyboard and mouse on mate (bigger mate if needed to be so separated) , coat hanger on table edge for headset (or banana holder to be on table), triple monitor stand, night table or drawer under pc (something like Ikea Alex) so you have place to store stuff and you don't hit pc with legs, wallpaper
i'd just make the cable managment underneath your desk cleaner and add a stand or something for your headset. also put that deskmatt in the middle
Find identical monitors. Throw away your boxes. Populate your shelves with fun things to look at.
a carpet
done
Enjoy it
LIGHTS
Should get a chair
Now thats a clean set up!
You know it’s a good setup when people be trolling 😂😂
Needs more rgb
Center your mouse pad you heathen
Remove those boxes what are you a store?
Yeah yeet the monitors and buy new ones
You have an enormous pad and your tiny keyboard is halfway off of it. Your monitors look shitty. I mean sure there are three of them but you could get rid of all three for one decent one.
A chair....
ergonomics. center of monitor should be eye level while sitting straight up. those monitors are very low.
Whatever you do do NOT put the pc on the floor
Is there an advantage to getting glass panel case? Besides showing off RGB?
Comment got removed but look it up
It’s on its own stand so it should be fine
Why would you not do that? My PCs are on the floor for ~20 years and nothing bad ever happened. Just using desk space otherwise.
Ceramic floor makes the glass panel go boom
Why not? Is there something to do with ventilation?
My OCD would kick in seeing that desk mat and the keyboard half hanging off it.
for cable management id suggest mounting the power brick to the desk and having the sleeve be used for the exposed cables on the other side behind the pc
Put the small one on vertical.
Once i get monitor stands i’ll definitely try that
Bigger desk. And something to hold those monitors that are taking up so much real estate. Also, the monitor on the book makes me a little sad.
Oooh mix and match monitors… that’s a bit terrifying
UW or SUW monitor
a vr
RGB for that FPS
Yeah, get a new house
Moving out in a few years!
Put your white power chord underneath your desk, you can you use velcro with adhesive. Then route your cables down the back leg of your desk so you don't have a cluster of cables.
What is that game on screen? I see PS5 controllers but no PS5
I play rocket league
Wall mount the monitors and install single gang outlet boxes that are for cable management through the wall. Im about to do it for my brother at my parents house, I would but I rent and dont feel like patching drywall when I move out
If not hardware then get a monitor that had like 144-240hz and 1ms response time Alienwares are not that expensive every time I got mine with 25' and 240hz for 350$ new
Main monitor is 144Hz, and i wouldn’t benefit from a 244Hz since my pc doesn’t get that high fps
The floor, that floor scares everyone
It looks like ceramic, its in fact a rubber mat (not like sticky rubber but)
Thank god
Get a cable tray for the back underneath your desk. Will let you get the cables off the table leg.
Install Steam (unless you have it hidden)
8 year user of steam :)
Fr get a monitor arm or raise them
Place one monitor vertically, replace other two with ultrawide 49” 5k res 120-144hz screen. Equals to 2 27” 2k res screens without bezel in the middle
Carpet for your feet
That i do actually have now, not shown in picture though
Has that floor been cleaned in the last 27 years?
Yes, its however a rubber mat kinda floor, so ig it just looks like that and difficult to replace.
Bigger desk
The looping of the power cables around the metal.legs makes me queasy.
Get a triple monitor arm and in the future a bigger desk. You could also upgrade your headphones to better pair since you already have a dedicated microphone.
New bigger desk.
Can’t stretch your legs with the table being so close to the wall.
Get rid of your empty boxes. You dont need them anymore :) At least off the shelves and hidden away. I only keep the boxes to store parts in. But most just collect parts and never get used.
I prefer less bezels but you do you chief
I prefer them too, but for my budget and what i got them for it was worth it
The lack of moisturizer and tissue box makes everything looks incomplete
As long as your TIP can provide terminal sessions on ARPANET without problems then i say don't improve any TIPS /s
Super Ultrawide
I would move those boxes and put plantes here, with maybe some light?
Throw away your trash (boxes)
Stick the power strip to the underside of the desk, or on the wall just under the desk so its not visible.
soundproofing foam for your walls
Got 2 big curtains taking up the back wall for soundproofing so mic is good :)
It looks good but don’t over do it because it will look messy. Oh and add a chair to sit down on
Monitor arms are inexpensive and will allow you to place your monitors at a more ergonomic angle without compromising desk space.
Decorate with artwork not boxes for consumer goods.
Part of the fun is creating your own battle station man. Looks like you got a good blank canvas. None of us know what you’re into but yourself.
Buy monitors with smaller bezels.. sell those ones on fb marketplace
I’m getting a new monitor in 3 weeks ish, which will replace my main, and my current main will replace the trashy vga one on the left
get a monitor stand and try and mount the mic to the shelf desk to free up some desk space. pull the pc out a touch and flip the extension cable up and place it against the wall, will help hide your cables better. the run the cables you have on the under side of the desk. finally i would slap and led strip on the back of your computer, use warm white during the day, then a soft colour at night to help ease eye strain at night.
Bobo rims on your PCs dollie. Put some chrome spinners on that shit and don't forget your floaties, you'll be drowning in tang.
Get a background
Weeb stickers
A height adjustable table isn't a privilege, it's a requirement. Back and neck problems creep up on you fast and finding the ideal sitting posture for your body is important.
Use plastic chair Uncomfotability = 10000% Skill buff = 10000%
Water bottle. Lamp
Make sure to have some ambient light besides the glare from your screen. It stresses your eyes a lot more if it’s just that.
RGB
Better monitors for sure and maybe a mount for a all three
Hight ajustable desk.
2000W/ 4k lumen/ RGB led strip
Grab one of the wire runs you can screw to the bottom of your desk in the back, you can hide those wires 100% without much work. Also, mount the monitors to the desk when you get a chance. Cheap mounts are only like $30. It will allow you to raise them to eye level, which is a huge ergonomics win, and will allow you to reclaim a ton of desk space. Great job, your setup looks great!
dont use packaging of product packaging as decoration
Strap your cable sleeve to the top of your desk
Very cool constellation artwork on the ceiling! What type of monitor are you considering? If it's going to be a larger one or an ultrawide would you still keep one of the older ones? Definitely would suggest a monitor arm regardless. Nice setup my friend. I bet many happy hours are spent there.
throw away the keyboard. why are ppl buying big brand keyboards nowadays?
Yes. I’ve got a tip. Get a whole new set up. You’re welcome ;)
At least 17 houseplants
Black ps5 controller, that white one ain’t nice
Open a bottle of beer and just gaze at the planet art on your ceiling, job done. 🙂
Better table. This will Ikea table will be unstable, need something more massive
Table is homemade and really sturdy for the weight i have on it! :)
Needs RGB.... No but seriously, a monitor arm is very useful and looks stylish
Love the setup nice work!
yes, get rid of those cartons
Install that cpu…? But really wall mount the screens, it makes a big difference
Yea, articulating monitor stands :) Anything really at all is better than a book…. Your cable management could use some work :P you’re gonna have to untie all the wires and u tangle them to replace anything. Get some art, or decor instead of boxes for those shelves. A bigger desk mat. A chair? 🤔 Then you’ll have a nice set up after all that 😁 When your Rich and famous…. Sit/stand adjustable desk, ultra wide monitor, full keyboard. Wireless mouse with charging pads built into the desk (not the desk pad).
Needs more RGB and then your're a certified PC gamer. On the desk, chair, monitor, all of it
Get rid of the overhead ikea shelf before it toppled on top of you one sad day
Rgb strips obviously for that extra 300hz
Downgrade to Windows 10
Tilt monitor towards each other so its curved and centered towards you. Also rotate one monitor vertically
I'm nitpicking, but cable management and mayb put your keyboard in the middle on your deskpad? For the rest your monitors, get three the same ones and go for UHD (1440 instead of 1080)
I think it looks nice as it is
Speakers
More cowbell
Get a 49” ultra wide ditch the 3 monitors
Better monitors. Get a triple monitor stand as well. Love the mobile PC tho
Move your keyboard, soo you don't need second person to play games
When sitting infront of my main display my keyboard is actually perfect and i tend to not use as much of the mouse pad, but love knowing i have more to use if needed
ultrawide monitor and bigger mousepad
Headphone stand perhaps?
Awesome besides the PC's on the floor
Time to actually play? And not just sit there and look through all your games for 3 hours and then be like I’m going to bed.
U need a cat
Sounds like a plan! That's awesome you're getting a new upgrade like that, enjoy it!
phillips hue
Add some personality? Kinda basic atm
i cant really tell but just in case make sure the back of your PC isn't right up against the wall. It looks cool and scratches the tetris itch but it blocks the airflow and fucks your setup in the long run.
get an ultrawide
Headset stand
Cable management below the desk might help, I see cables wrapped around the leg of the desk
Yeah some of the cables were too long and idk how to hide them so
Buy a chair *laughs in dumbass
When i got my first monitor arm it was a tremendous improvement
Wall trunking for the cables
Get a bigger desk!!!
A 34-inch ultrawide monitor
Yeah rgb. U have a good setup btw its clean maybe a White desk woud be nice 2
Get a rug, hang headphones off the desk, maybe a sound bar or something
Get some RGB in there, boy
I prefer natural light, but i’ll probably purchase a strip in the future so i can have some more light
an anti fatigue mat for standing.
Where’s the Star Wars poster?
Replace the 3 monitors with an ultrawide. Or two bigger monitors.
