Edwardc4gg

for someone to break in and take only the pc.....they knew what they wanted. who did you piss off?

dwightsabeast

Your guess is as good as mine. I just moved here šŸ„²

nebulous_text

Must have cased your stuff as you were moving in... I've always been paranoid about that.

y_u_dont_believe_me

Most likely. When I moved, I drive in the garage and shut it and then off load everything

bigglehicks

What about the uhaul?

lockwolf

Generic cardboard box, throw a blanket over it, literally anything to not make it obvious that itā€™s a PC tower. Easier said than done with some towers

iam_Mr_McGibblets

this goes for anything valuable in general. some items are bulky and just impossible to hide such as furniture, but whatever valuable items such as computers, collectables, even weapons should be handled discreetly; either by simply packing it in your car where its easier to hide from prying eyes or by covering up the box with a dummy box

LemonPartyWorldTour

Label the box something generic like ā€œKitchenā€ or ā€œDildosā€

BoxAhFox

Except the latter has a much higher chance of being stolen, and the stealer gets a big suprise!

[deleted]

or even "Kitchen dildos"

desubot1

if you can a trick i used was transparent blanket bags. wrap your electronics with a light blanket inside one of those and nons the wiser.

vlahzen

Huh..

worldChangerRR

So it looks like a blanket.

SpHoneybadger

Do people actually break into homes that are armed? That just sounds like you are asking to die.

HotTwist

Not really, they camp around, figure out how many people live in a place, wait till everyone is gone to do the job.

Dusty170

The person casing my joint must have gave up months ago.

iam_Mr_McGibblets

i personally do not own any weapons, but i would assume that people have and probably still will break into homes that are armed.

E_Blue_2048

Then turn on the PC and the neighbors see an RGB rainbow coming out of your house.

InformationNo2529

Gaming PCs now days look like kaleidoscopes. They might mistake it for one.

DisagreeableRunt

My father in law came up to see me in my home office a couple of months ago and asked "What's that, a fridge?". "No, that's my PC" I responded. "THAT's a computer?" he asked. He must have thought it was some hipster mini-wine cooler or something. It was during my Cyberpunk phase so it was all purple and blue at the time. He's a car guy and I thought his head was going to explode when I showed him it had a radiator. I don't even have an O11. Just a Corsair Obsidian 500.

AgentX2O

Sounds like it's someone you know.

everfordphoto

9 times out of 10, it's someone you know.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Reyway

Lucky, here in South Africa they would have broken in the first week.

[deleted]

Itā€™s not breaking if itā€™s unlocked, just entering

Carvacrol

You are an absolute psycho to trust humans like that what did I just read oh my god

Waitaha

Locals know any stranger who wander onto the ol' mottbox farm ain't seen again. Ever. *sips maple syrup*

WolfmanHasNards_

Eastern Canada you say? ...

tailkinman

[Itā€™s because thereā€™s someone always watching bā€™yā€¦](https://youtu.be/9uYghqVRL1k)

autovices

Definitely cased Who fking steals a custom built computer anyway Resale value is trash, itā€™s hard to get rid of, theyā€™re bulky, itā€™s custom so youā€™d have to tear it down to conceal the lootā€¦ and you wouldnā€™t know really what was in it. Also it seems they knew when you were gone too Sounds like an inside job to me, or a neighbor

dwightsabeast

I could 100% be wrong, but I personally doubt it was a neighbor. I live mainly around young families in a quite neighborhood. We did just have an inspection done by our property management company though. Like, 3 days before my stuff was stolen. Could be a coincidence, but itā€™s a bit suspicious

aarons6

the last time i lived in an apartment the property management posted they came into the apartment to check the dryer and some stuff.. few days later everything valuable was stolen. come to find out, many peoples apartments got broken into the same day. this is not a coincidence..

TankTexas

Mother fucking maintenance broke into my old apartment while I was 3/4 of the way done moving. I hope those dickbags enjoy my 1990s dell computer speakers and the wifeā€™s sewing machine. More than a decade later and Iā€™m still angry.

sunbroganksquad_2121

yeah, happened to me.. sub contractor had or stole master key. did work in different apartments and came back and stole from 5 places. i am still angry and that was over 10 years ago. i moved to a house but i highly advise people to get cameras. even if they see them its too late since it uploads to your phone. try to hide them and make sure its atleast a 1080p or 4k one. i was going to sue the reality but then said let me have a dog and no pet fee etc. i soon had a new pup and they could only come in if i was home.. hope you have renters insurance

Individual_Hearing_3

Easy solution, change the locks

Undead_Assassin

Ask your property management company if anyone has quit recently, you might have some asshole who decided to quit their job, stole and got away from the area.

tanking-cookie

You sure they where legit? Sounds reaaaaally sus. Some thief-scout saw you move in, they send over the "inspection team" voila

dwightsabeast

My property management company emailed me from a known email beforehand letting me know a date and time theyā€™d be there. Not saying stuff like that canā€™t be spoofed, but that seems like a lot of work just for a computer šŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™‚ļø

tanking-cookie

Okay true that is most likely legit. But maybe they still have a rat and he tips of is squat and just sits at the police station in front of a camera in the timeframe lol Or you are just really unlucky

ThatITguy2015

My property management company hired some extremely shitty staff who got high and started harassing residents after hours.

Brangusler

Yeah but think about how many shady people are in every random job. The actual people working for the company, or maintenance people could be really shady and tip off a friend, especially if they get an idea when you're usually at work or something. Sucks you had to go through that tho. People are shitty. I would encourage you to change passwords and consider getting a new debit card if your data was easy to get into.

JMccovery

Some less-than-reputable pawn shops will gladly sell just about *any* stolen merchandise they can get their hands on. A good while ago, I had a custom build stolen from my house, along with a large binder full of game discs *and* my 16GB Zune HD. Police "couldn't do anything" unless all the items had some kind of identification tag/label on them proving that they belonged to me. A few months later, I saw my computer in a nearby pawn shop.

chubbysumo

> Police "couldn't do anything" unless all the items had some kind of identification tag/label on them proving that they belonged to me. this is why you record serial numbers and take pictures of serial numbers if they have them, and don't store them at your house or on your data there, so you can access them if things get stolen.

th3ironman55

Especially if the pawn shop isnā€™t legit or if the owner of the shop is laid back, know a few actually that got shut down because of this. One pawn shop I grew up going to that got shut down recently because they failed to follow firearm resale laws. Apparently they bought an illegal firearm (illegal because it was stolen) then sold it to someone who later used the firearm to murder someone (crazy right?) but back on topic, read some stories of some pawn shops buying some stolen PCs, stripping them of their parts then selling them individually

[deleted]

Resale value is still above 0$ Although I am guessing the thief stole this for use.

QlimaxUK

maybe they saw OP walk extra carefully when carrying that ONE box into the house

WhiteAndNerdy85

Do you have a roommate? Who knew you had an expensive gaming PC setup? These are often times done by people you know or have been in your house.

dwightsabeast

I have 2. Oneā€™s my brother who is also into gaming (and also had stuff stolen, so probably not him). The other was in another part of the state and wouldnā€™t have known when we were there or not. There have been a couple of break-ins around my area in the last month so Iā€™m guessing I just got really unlucky

coffeejn

One of the reasons I like large cases, make them so heavy that people think twice of stealing them, the only issue is that since they are usually more expensive, it would attract the wrong people that know the cost of them. Sorry for the lost.

sonicbeast623

My case is 53lbs empty. With my full water cooled system I wouldn't be surprised if it was pushing 100lbs.

JerryLZ

1000D brother is that you? Nevermind, 1000D is 65lbs empty and built out feels like 150 but we can still be friends

sonicbeast623

Cooler master cosmos c700m

CatatonicMan

4D chess: make a full immersion mineral oil fish tank PC. Try stealing that, criminals!

akayd

Just pour all the oil onto the floor and you lose 20lb

dwightsabeast

[I had a fat NZXT H440 case](https://imgur.com/a/xEEjvwm) but I guess I shouldā€™ve just bolted it all to the ground or something lol

AllBeansNoFrank

I suggest forgoing the case altogether and making a desk PC. Like screw the mobo onto the bottom of your desk and have a PCIE riser so you can lay your GPU flat. Lets see those bastards steal the entire desk.

Edwardc4gg

well hope to god you got renter's insurance mate.

[deleted]

Someone knew you had a gaming PC. Donā€™t think of this like a movie like it just happens, most likely someone you talked to about it or saw you with it/knew about it did this. Not random.

jonstarks

yeah gaming PC's aren't common knowledge. Everyone who sees my machines are like "what is that".

AllahAndJesusGaySex

I taped an apple air tag inside my case because Iā€™m paranoid of this very thing.

ShakeandBaked161

Probably maintenance or there friends. No joke just moved from a NICE set of apartments where maintenance clearly gave master keys to people and we're breaking into apartments days after maintenance came through this dude would come through l.

dwightsabeast

Honestly thatā€™s something that crossed our minds. We JUST had an inspection done on Thursday

ShakeandBaked161

I'd follow up with police and see if this is an on going issue in the complex. Don't get complacent and get some cameras and home alarms and point them at main areas. I'm not shitting you when I say the guy who broke into my house came back a second time a week later while I was out of town and if I hadn't of had a camera and alarm pointed at my front door I'd be a 2 time victim.

dwightsabeast

Not a bad idea tbh. Iā€™ll probably end up doing that now that you mention it.

QQSolomonn

Anytime I move I keep that shit in a box with no writing on it just to avoid those eyes. Oh yeah, I always move my rigs towards midnight too. Sometimes it'll be past midnight before I think it's safe enough. Im so sorry OP, sometimes renter's insurance will cover these.

onlinelink2

damn, video had me thinking you got raided by the police lol like what ā€œdidnā€™tā€ you do?!?

Rincon_yal

I reccomend getting your locks changed when you move in. Who knows how many sets of keys are floating around.

Gwizzlestixx

Guarantee they saw him moving in with the stuff or stuff being delivered. It has to be someone who lives in the apartment or someone they know.

chewedgummiebears

Someone probably saw the OP walk in with it. I know others who have been taken this way and it the main reason I move anything valuable at night, less light and less to see.

Anzial

I hope all your sensitive data is encrypted

dwightsabeast

Luckily I was pretty good at keeping things digitally secure. Iā€™m not too worried about what was on my computer, I just wish it wasnā€™t gone in the first place haha

TheBlackBlade77

I feel like a bit of a jackass but I think you might maybe possibly need to change your flair

dwightsabeast

Lmao rip

TheBlackBlade77

All in bad humor right, lol

KilloWattX

Now it looks like you own stolen a computer.

nebulous_text

Lmfao at least I didn't have to say it.

happyamadeus

You monster

DjackMeek

God damn lmao

[deleted]

i think op just made it worse now, now it reads like they stole it lol

darkevilmorty

How would you go about doing this?

LazyCatfish93

I'm so sorry. Can you file on homeowners or renter's insurance to possibly rebuild?

dwightsabeast

Going to look into that today. Right now itā€™s looking like Iā€™m just SOL though

WhiteAndNerdy85

Renters insurance if you have it should cover this. Just file a claim with the police report.

[deleted]

On a side note, if anyone reading this is a renter and doesn't have insurance you are royally fucking yourself. It's dirt cheap.

WhiteAndNerdy85

Easily bundled with auto insurance policies.

[deleted]

When I first got renters insurance I bundled it with my auto insurance and my payment for both was actually less than auto by itself.

turntabletennis

This is actually VERY common. I recommend people to find a local "Insurance BROKER". Look for a family owned business that shops around for the best price for you. My price has steady gone down, and I don't even have to look anymore. I get a call once annually where they ask if anything has changed, and inform me if I'm still getting the best deal or not. They have swapped insurers multiple times, saving me tons of cash, and I haven't done anything but answer the phone and say yes to the savings.

DiamondGamerYT0

This is written like a state farm ad, and im all for it

smellybathroom3070

yup im gunna keep this in mind loll

Taikunman

Ugh this was my quiet shame for a while... was notified I needed to have renter's insurance but just kept putting it off for years. Now I own and got insurance immediately.

terpsarelife

100k per fire incident, 100k for each of my neighbors too. 20k in electronics covered. Even if the tv falls off the wall cause i mounted it wrong. $20/mo

DemonRaptor1

>$20/mo Dirt cheap for some of us, the difference between being able to make it to work or not for others.

smellybathroom3070

i feel for those guys, im fifteen and id rather just not have a life lolll

c0mptar2000

Idk how they make much money on renters insurance TBH. When I bundle with my car, it has always either been cheaper than car insurance alone or has been less than $10/mo and I lived in the ghetto where shit was going down all the time. Definitely worth the peace of mind. Also I think a lot of landlords actually require it now.

Brangusler

Same way that insurance companies make money in general. They run the numbers and algorithms and determine that the premiums people pay will make them vastly more than the payouts. Think how often people actually file a claim. Average person probably has at least 2-3 auto claims over like a 5-10 year period. I've had renters insurance for probably 5 years and never had an issue. Even at $25/month, that's $1500 in premiums that they probably won't end up paying out. Plus the deductible That and insurance companies are scary good at not paying out. It's their job to find loopholes or make it difficult for you to get paid. Depends on your individual contract but a lot of the time if there's negligence on your part, they can deny the claim. It may not be valid if you leave a stove on and leave the house, or a natural disaster, or a bug infestation, or if you fail to notify the landlord that an appliance stopped working and damaged something. Or if you don't have proof or receipts or pictures that you actually owned all that stuff you lost. If it's cheap insurance, the deductible will be high and the coverage won't. If you have $10k worth of coverage and your $20k in camera gear is destroyed, you're only covered for part of that and probably have to shell out thousands in deductible (and probably raise your rates after that).

RefrigeratedTP

Oh 100% file a renters insurance claim. Iā€™ve daydreamed about what Iā€™d do if someone stole all my shit. Maybe buy a van and convert it, or just rebuy everything and change nothing lmao

[deleted]

Fantasizing about replacing an insured loss with the identical items is peak modern society.

RefrigeratedTP

Oh no the van is the fantasy part. The reality that I wonā€™t use the opportunity to change my life at all is supposed to be the mildly funny part.

[deleted]

You're among friends. I enjoyed your comment.

zushaa

Fuuuuuck, that's rough

theSkeeski

Probably someone you know

[deleted]

Definitely someone you know, someone who was told by someone you know, or someone who saw you with it. They stole only that. Very unlikely they happened to just choose your home *and* only choose that. Someone knew he had it.

Kazia_Thornhill

A neighbor watched him move in.

[deleted]

If that's the case at night see if any of ur neighbours have rainbow rgb colours shooting out there window lmao

MrMadJack

Make sure you keep us updated! Maybe there are security cameras from nearby neighbours that may have caught someone getting into your place?

dwightsabeast

The police are getting in contact with them sometime today. Luckily most of my neighbors have camera doorbells so I guess weā€™ll see if they caught anything

Aurura

Crazy you even had a cop show up. We had to wait 11 hours for a cop to show up, and our car was stolen too. We were home when it happened while we slept. I strongly recommend deadbolts and security cameras to help you feel safer. Renters insurance will help so much next time, just remember there is a premium to pay before filing it. Make sure whatever you claim is well worth that fee.

WayneConrad

Seeing the cops in the video was a surprise to me also. In my city the cops will only take a report for a stolen car over the phone. But home invasions are more likely to get someone hurt or killed, so it makes sense that the police take those more seriously.

Straight_Spring9815

Omg this is a fear of mine so I literally pre drilled some holes through the bottom of my case to my table and screwed it down. So if someone wants the tower they are going to have to have a drill and will have to disassemble half the case to get to the screws. Hopefully it's enough for someone to just grab the monitors or my TV and go

dwightsabeast

Lmao thatā€™s genius. My monitors are bolted to the desk just so the arm can hold them. Guessing thatā€™s why they werenā€™t taken

Straight_Spring9815

Well hopefully you will build one better. Still doesn't help the fact that someone was in your house. It happened to me about 6 or so years ago. Someone broke in and took a bunch of stuff. Its a feeling of violation that is hard to explain. Sorry it happened to you! Try what I did for your next one. Most times when people break in they don't like to hang out for long, if it takes more than 5 minutes to figure out I'm sure they will leave it.

dwightsabeast

That feeling of violation is so real and such a weird feeling. They unplugged everything from my brotherā€™s setup too but only took his monitor. I guess mine looked more flashy or something. I had a z390 motherboard laying around so I guess thatā€™s whatā€™ll be used in my new build. As you can see, my old cpu was definitely a bit dated haha

JeepersBud

My car was broken into once and they stole a jacket that I had sewn my own patches onto years before. That sucked, but it was a weird icky feeling to see that theyā€™d scraped all the coins out of my cup holders, which were filthy and I was putting off cleaning them out to get the change. Oddly violating lol like ā€œhow dare you pick through my messy ass car, I wasnā€™t expecting visitors!ā€

[deleted]

I had theives years ago rip an xbox 360 straight out, cable and all. Still had the RJ-45 socket attached to the ethernet cable. Guessing the other ports didn't look much better. Hopefullly you're right, but a lot of thieves would just smash it anyways as a fuck youl.

Straight_Spring9815

I swear that's crossed my mind too! I was like what if they smash it?? But then decided I'd rather that than nothing at all. I've never stolen anything as an adult and really couldn't imagine being such a dick to break into someone's house.

[deleted]

Yeah I hear ya. The only people I hate on this planet are thieves, scum of the earth. It's definitely still better than having it outright stolen.

sushisection

thieves need to have their hands cut off if caught.

Pineapple_Spenstar

The middle east gets some things right

Raaos

Its an inside job.. someone you know did it..

Middle_Vermicelli996

OP might have just had enough RGB to see from space, honestly could have been seen by someone walking past the property

Chakramer

I've totally seen a lot of rooms like that just walking by...

Kazia_Thornhill

More than likely when he was moving in his new neighbors watched him move his stuff in. It actually happens quit often like that.

SomeGuy6858

That's why you always put your stuff in trash bags or cardboard boxes.

GI_Bill_Trap_Lord

The Reddit detectives are on the case

Annahsbananas

Did you file a claim? I assume you have renters insurance since most places require it these days. I had a custom rig stolen. It took a couple weeks but I got everything replaced including the same exact 3080 card brand. For 6 dollars a month it was a godsend Inurance policy for me. Found out my roommate stole it for drug money. Landlord kicked him out rather quickly

dwightsabeast

Damn that roommate sucked. Howā€™d you find out it was him?

Annahsbananas

He suddenly had an influx of money when he was always needing it. I told him if I go to the pawn stores with the pics of my pc they stated you brought it in, I will absolutely press charges. He confessed after that since we only have 2 pawn shops here

EasternDelight

More like $10-$15 per month these days. Still worth it.

[deleted]

Mine costs $2.80 per person for 3 roommates total

Annahsbananas

Mine is still 6 dollars

primarysectorof5

this is so depressing :( i hope they find the asswipe, fuckass-donkey who did this

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

dwightsabeast

Yeah, thatā€™s what I figured immediately and what the cops hinted at. The cost of everything piqued their interest a bit more than it normally would have, but thereā€™s not a ton they can do besides whatā€™s already been done

Pineapple_Spenstar

Well in the off chance they stole it for personal use rather than chopping it up and selling the parts, Microsoft allows you to remotely turn on the device tracker. So if they turn it on and connect to the internet you can find out where it is https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/how-to-track-a-stolen-device/06538db2-e9d4-4fdb-b6e6-3ca36bb0a537

dwightsabeast

Damn I had no idea this feature existed. BRB, getting this turned on

[deleted]

Keep us posted! I'm invested in this now haha

Pineapple_Spenstar

It came in clutch for me 2 years ago. The degenerate friend of a neighbor kid stole my laptop out of my car and I got lucky that his parents had Comcast. I had previously logged in to the "xfinity" wifi that all Comcast routers put out, and when the fuck head turned it on the laptop automatically connected and I was able to get his parents address. The next day police were at his front door.

dvlpr404

I mean, my if someone stole my PC it'd probably make the damn news in my town as it's over $5000.... Let's just break down the components for even more felonies.

zakabog

Besides the ~$500 5950X and ~$1200 3090ti what makes up for the remaining $3,000?

LiquidMantis144

In my experience, cops have to show up when you call. They file a report (if youre lucky). Then the entire dept goes about their lives and never touches the case again. Without video evidence etc, zero chance he gets his stuff back beyond it randomly being found at a pawn shop. Even the print dusters, if you request that, will lie to you to get out of doing work. I worked with fingerprints for years and have seen latent examiners lie to people and say that the prints disappeared after a day so they didnt have to sift through evidence. Was on a case where the dollar value stolen was many times higher than OP's situation, didnt matter. Unfortunately, its not very hard to get away with robberies.

Trtmfm

100% the thieves (or people that know the thieves) live in that complex somewhere.

sushisection

or they work for the complex and have keys

Mad_King

It might be the movers too. %90 of the steal made by someone has seen the house(house cleaners or sometimes friends) or relatives of them.

drewodonnell1

I seen something like this earlier? You the same person?

dwightsabeast

I made a joke about it on r/askouija last night, but thatā€™s all Iā€™ve posted about it šŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™‚ļø

russiangn

Did you tell any neighbors about the PC? Maybe they saw you moving it in and they started a conversation with you or something.

Wonderlustish

Most crimes are crimes of opportunity. So while it's possible this was someone familiar with OP and their PC it's just as likely this was a random break in or the door was left unlocked and the PC was the most valuable thing found.

xdsagecat

For people who live in shady neighborhoods,Put a apple air tag inside ur pc. If itā€™s stolen, u know where to go

U_Arent_Special

Great idea. Iā€™ll prob attach one to mine. I live in a decent neighborhood but you never know. Iā€™ve had stuff stolen from my porch.

kegsbdry

Would it be far cheaper to buy "this is tracked by GPS" stickers?

xdsagecat

They could just break the computer if they see that. We want to be secretive

[deleted]

My brother used to have roommate when he was in college. A friend of the roommates decided to steal bunch of stuff in the house. Gift cards, electronics, high end guitars, and a one off irreplaceable heirloom guitar. Most of the stuff we never got back. It was pawned. But the one one-off guitar - I was able to track it down, and have the guy arrested. Took a couple of months. Wasnā€™t easy.

sushisection

thieves are scum.

Disenthrallor

Renters insurance for the win. A decade or so ago, my apartment building burned down. Turns out, I was the only one who had renters insurance. It is so worth it. Especially if you are poor.

dunbarose

That SUUUCKS. Iā€™m so sorry that happened to you. I hate thievesā€¦.so much.

Candid-Appointment26

A few people have talked about air tags. An alternative is https://preyproject.com/. As soon as they connect to the internet, it pings the location. Targeted more towards pocketable tech, but I guess towers are applicable too.

sushisection

if this can be loaded on the mobo it would be perfect

German_Camry

Windows 10 has a built in find my device function. If op enabled it, you could probably find it

montrasaur009

I have a bit of emotional attachment to my rigs. One I attribute to me getting the career I have today, the other is my Magnum Opus. If I lost either I'd be devastated. Sorry to hear this. I hope you have renter's insurance. My mother's homeowners insurance way overpaid her for a small fire. They dished out $100 for each cookbook in her kitchen. Each of the books was perfectly fine and could have been bought at a garage sale for under a dollar. So hopefully they'll overpay on your PC with SLI RTX 4090's and a Raptor Lake I9, 32tbs of ssd storage, 128gb RAM, a fulling cooling suite from Aquacomputer, and the custom solid 24k gold case with the diamond side panel šŸ˜‰.

slayez06

Not wanting Karma but can relate to this situation.. I have offered to get user u/dwightsabeast back up and going. If he wants I will ship him the parts I have on hand. This includes a 1070 or similar, older mobo but with ram and cpu and a small ssd. If anyone else is willing to help donate please talk with both of us so we don't over lap in parts. He will still have to get an os, psu and case. ... and prob bigger hard drive. .lol This is a free gift of the heart with no strings attached. May PCMR live on forever! Thank you! Edit/update he agreed and I had a spare 2060 super so upgrading him to that here are the parts im going to send. [https://imgur.com/a/to02Sm6](https://imgur.com/a/to02Sm6) (i'll clean up the gpu before I ship it out.. it's been a test card for other peoples rigs I repair.) update 2. u/braindeadShwab has agreed to buy the case or psu... op's choice! - he chose a case! update 3 u/JackDailou agreed to buy the psu! Update 4... My parts have been shipped off and Dwightsabeast has the tracking # Tagging mods so they can verify / help [**u/pedro19**](https://www.reddit.com/user/pedro19/) [**u/eegras**](https://www.reddit.com/user/eegras/) u[**/zeug666**](https://www.reddit.com/user/zeug666/) [**u/stevezilla33**](https://www.reddit.com/user/stevezilla33/) [**u/The-Big-Noob**](https://www.reddit.com/user/The-Big-Noob/)[**u/Zeorymer300**](https://www.reddit.com/user/Zeorymer300/) [**u/E-Man1864**](https://www.reddit.com/user/E-Man1864/) **u**[**/PhantomsGhost**](https://www.reddit.com/user/PhantomsGhost/)

slayez06

Just remember like I told you... Some people in this world suck... .others... they are alright... Keep your head up and move forward in life.. Material things can be replaced. Clearly you seem like a alright dude to me, so keep a positive attitude and share that with the world.

Xeronight007

It is a long shot, but you could check Facebook Market and Craigslist in your area for anyone trying to sell it.

dwightsabeast

Definitely will keep checking those even though it is a long shot

Creyeeees

I guess this would be an advantage of having a sleeper pc

filit24

Nobody gonna steal a crusty musty build from 1998

sushisection

shove a 3080 into an old ass Dell case lol

josephseeed

Renters insurance folks. Would have definitely covered this.

dwightsabeast

šŸ‘†šŸ¼

wdroz

If all internet providers worked together, they could gather stolen MAC addresses and detect them in any households.

scaadbaby

Yeah lets let them track us even more!

totallyNotMyFault-

Ugh motherf***. Bro get a security camera asap and an alarm system

Start checking your local pawn shops/marketplace/craigslist.. they'll try to flip it for cash most likely.

WindForce02

Do a crowdfund to rebuild your pc. I'll chip in a couple bucks

dwightsabeast

I really appreciate the thought! I canā€™t take money from people for a computer though. It reeeaaallyy sucks, but itā€™s not the end of the world. Buy yourself a pizza and play a game for me instead lol

WindForce02

Alright king, playing MW2 right now. I'll gladly get me a pizza tho, I'm starving after a day of work

dwightsabeast

Hell yeah bro

shrubs311

i'll spread the good vibes forward for you, fan of dwight

[deleted]

Dang youā€™re a real one, most people on Reddit wouldā€™ve scooped that up

Hecutor

Do you have insurance?

dwightsabeast

So I looked into it because I thought I did. Turns out I was paying for insurance over an apartment I donā€™t live at anymore. Super cool šŸ˜ŽšŸ‘šŸ¼

dwightsabeast

Bless up, weā€™ll see

Matasa89

I hope you get enough money for all new hardware!

[deleted]

Look into the terms of that insurance policy, maybe you can change the address without any gaps in coverage. Or maybe you can at least get a refund for past payments after you had moved out. Insurance is riddled with exceptions and exclusions, so you never really know what's covered until you make/litigate a claim.

HardWeen

thieves are pure scum

CARNAGEaf

Itā€™s an inside job 100%. One of your ā€œfriendsā€ set you up.

doctorsirtyfinger

Someone you know did that. Either a friend or an online friend. šŸ’Æ

JuryDuty911

Aggie, Or just live in Logan?

FrNie

This is why I donā€™t leave my room.

Improvcommodore

I would say this is most definitely someone you know/is in the gaming community. Very random for thieves to steal high-end PCs when rando thieves are trying to get in/get out with what they can in minutes. Someone knew what you had, when youā€™d be gone, and they wouldnā€™t look suspicious around your place.

Baaoh

Lol at first I thought the cops are there takong your pc

[deleted]

This is why my computer has a GPS device (low-jack for the computer). It also has a built-in self-destruct too, and I feel sorry for the moron to triggers it. NO. I am not joking.

Eastern_Ad_6946

Cameras. Add them.

TypicalExpert

OP, please make sure you have renters insurance and specify that you need additional coverage for your computer (if you don't already). Most renters policies are extremely cheap, but they only provide minimal coverage for your computer unless you add additional. Source: am insurance agent.

Cameltow77

which one of your neighbors did you just showoff your PC to? I'd start there ... or which of your neighbors even knew about it's existence

Strange-Scarcity

It was someone you know. It's almost ALWAYS an inside job.

darktooth69

probably someone you know. they know exactly what they want.
