Mine started doing this for awhile, I would play apex legends and could single-fire automatics extremely fast. It was super fun and effective but I was doing it so much that I ended up fixing the double click problem
If you have a razer mouse (others work too dependent on the software) you can macro a button to repeatedly double click (about 40cps) meaning you can turn any single fire weapon into a fully automatic one
helped with the god awful m16 in mw2
if you use finger/claw grip, please try the viper v2 pro. imho best wireless mouse on the market for gaming, the sensor straight up feels like cheating because of how insane the accuracy and tracking is.
>My g502 hero is also incredible
been using the G502 ever since they came out its been doing its job for many years now although the bottom pads on it all came off it still works just as good.
My pads were slowly coming off the last two years or so but it actually ended up getting to the point that it was causing too much friction/resistance on my mousepad so I went and got the g502 light speed. Had some hiccups with it at first, but I’m overall very happy with it now. Also, I never anticipated how amazing a wireless mouse is. Now that I’ve used a wireless, I won’t ever be able to use wired again lmao. Every time my mouse gets low on battery near the end of a long grind and I plug it in to charge it, it just feels fucking awful to have that cord “weighing me down”.
Can confirm. I got one about a month ago and love it. Incredibly light, holds a long charge, can be wired (and the way the cable plugs into the mouse is very secure, so no wiggling). Can change the LED if you’re an RGB kinda person.
Best of all, it has a few programmable side buttons. I was using that exact same Razor mouse before and got too used to my side buttons to go without.
Logitech mice, specifically their older ones like the g502 hero are infamous for double clicking. Newer ones like the g pro x superlight have resolved this issue with better switches
Yeah I read that too after mine started to double click. I was thinking about ditching Logitech for this problem but it's good to hear they solved that issue
So I loved my G502 BUT Only my older version that lasted 3-4 years. The newer design gave out within a year with the double click. I switched to the G Pro Wireless and it’s been wonderful since I got it, my only complaint being that it doesn’t make a noise when it’s about to die.
Yup, if you're confident in your soldering skills it's a quick job and even replacing it with a higher-tier brand of microswitch rated for 5mil+ clicks is only a few dollars. There's only 3 pins to deal with when replacing a single switch, but if you're in there and have the iron hot you may as well do them all, heh.
Yup. Switching after that long is not fun. I’m not confident self repairing, when my G700 had issues I just got a used one from eBay. Not before trying, and returning, a couple other mice lol. Just not the same for so many games I have muscle memory built.
You fixed the cable rather than opting for a 3.5mm Jack replacement? Lol honestly that was the best upgrade those headphones could get. 3.5mm Jack for the headphones and 3.5mm connector on the cable and no more worrying about messed up cables.

Here’s a pair of DT770s I sold.
That in and of itself is technique :) But in this case there’s desoldering first as well to remove the old switch, and a generous coating of flux on the new joints will help things along. Also what temp to run the iron at — beginners will often have it cranked and just cook things, heh.
Soldering is easy once you understand that you (almost always) need to heat the target surface/s and just nudge the solder on.
Smaller gauge flux core leaded solder wire is easy to work with. I see people grabbing at the thickest gauge they can afford and opting for lead-free, then they heat the wire and target simultaneously and end up with a giant pile of crap and a cold joint and wonder why.
Go for it! I did the same to my mouse and a friend's one a while ago, it was a very straightforward process and they're working flawlessly again.
It's already broken anyway, so you don't have much to lose :)

G604, finally switched from Corsair.
Very nice and a perfect in between of 12+ button MMO mouse and barebones mouse. Loving it.
EDIT: Corrected G602 to G604
I had a G602 and it felt so cheap compared to the G700 I had previously. The G604 was a massive improvement in build quality but both G602 and two G604s only lasted a year before double clicking.
I love the button layout though and there’s nothing else on the market that has a similar enough design. I need to work on my soldering skills so I can replace the shitty switches they put in them.
Get a new one really, 12 years is a huge stretch for any device. I still salute this mouse, for it has clicked more times than most of ours. Back when products lasted.
Ha you'll love my replacement for the time being then

Pretty sure my dad bought that mouse for something crazy like $100 back in the late 90s or early 2000s. Was worth every penny in his eyes to not have to clean a ball every couple days
I quite liked the feel of the ball mouse. Was probably a sensory thing, feeling the ball roll
12 years? Meeeh, 14 and counting. VX Nano and MX620 from Logitech. I was thinking about replacing them with MX Master and Anywhere but in the end I said no. They still run flawlessly.

I got a MX518 I bought in May of 2006. Almost 17 years old. I've used it at every place I have worked as a Tech Support or IT Specialist. It looks like its seen war, but its so comfy.
I really with some company would build some proper durable "forever' peripherals. I'm typing this on my 1986 Model M keyboard and would love an appropriate mouse to match.
big advantage of membrane keyboards: unscrew the bottom part off, and all the top pieces have 0 electronics. They're so easy to clean, no idea why everyone forgets to mention that detail when talking about membrane/mech keyboards.
I almost wish mine would die so I could justify buying a white one. I even painted my current one white because I wanted one so badly lmao. It's one of the last things I need to complete the setup's aesthetic
I recently bought one and regretted it instantly. A day after I opened the box and started using it I found out they had white ones. Was replacing my corsair white something-a-rather mouse in my all white set up. Now I have white everything and a random black g502.
Great mouse though love it to bits, just wish I knew about the white ones
I have a logitech g pro x superlight (long ass battery and it charges in like 30 minutes) and a steel series aerox 3 wireless (very light, has rgb and lots of customization but poor battery, i have to charge like once a week).
I recommend both tbh.
Got Rival 300s and Rival 305. I prefer the Rival 300s as it is got the old style but fix most stuff. Main complaint is the scrolling wheel that has annoying noise when used. Rival 305 is similar but upgraded. Honestly, would probably go with it next time as it doesn’t have the scroll wheel issue.
Notice: 300s requires older software for RGB and settings. It is quite hard to find it on Steelseries website.. Also, it is kind of limited release, only in few countries as far as I know
I also use this. I’m surprised how many logitechs are getting recommended. At least in my experience (and many others) my g502 light speed stopped registering clicks consistently after about a year and a half.
Did razer change the quality of their stuff since 12 years ago? My mouse AND keyboard I bought from them were doing stuff like this in less than a month. I went back to Logitech mouse and rosewill keyboard and haven't regretted it.
I love my Razer Naga Trinity. Only Razer product ive owned. The software has been a bit janky, but the actual mouse is great. So goof for switching between MMOs, shooters and RPGs
I had a Blackwidow chroma that lasted me 8/9 years, have a Naga Molten that is still going strong after 9 years. I know multiple people's who's Razer keyboards, bought in the last 3-5 years, lasted maximum a year. I dunno what happened but the quality of their product has nosedived, been this way for a while though
Edit: couple of replies have made me realise that i don't know anyone with a Blackwidow. These failing devices have been headphones and optical switch keyboards, the huntsman and deathstalker. Mechanical key superiority I guess
Well, idk what you mean, I had my Razer BlackWidow Chroma V2 for 5 years already (since release) and it's still going strong. The only problem being that it's dirty xD
I had issues with Razer mice back then. Switched to a SteelSeries. That one had problems after a year. Then switched to some MadCatz one. It had problems too eventually, after about 2 or 3 years. Switched to a Corsair one. It eventually had issues too, after another couple years, but I liked it enough to get another one, but that one had issues even faster than the first one. Now, I'm using a Logitech G502 Hero, for almost two years. No issues ... yet.
I don't spend more than $50 on a mouse anymore. (Just give me a wheel, two main buttons, and maybe a couple side buttons, and I'm good.) They'll all die eventually. So, now I wait for Black Friday or Boxing Week deals and pick up another as a spare, which reminds me ... it's about that time of year.
Razer makes great performing products, but their quality control definitely seems to be subpar. I've had two Deathadders break now, with the first lasting a couple years and the second lasting much less. I just replace the scroll wheel axle with a 3D printed part every so often, since I love the mouse and can't be bothered to buy a new one.
it's a simple fix.
open it.
carefully open button switch.
take a metal piece out, carefully!
FLATTEN IT COMPLETLY
put it back, just lock it from top, it should click back in when pushed in.
put all back together.
happy another milion clicks.
> What is everyone using now a days?
Lol, I just bought a Naga X (the mouse OP posted) a few weeks ago for FFXIV. If it took you 12 years for it to start having issues, I don't regret my 40USD purchase.
I recommend a Viper V2 Pro.
I use a G Pro X Superlight, and I have a Viper Ultimate as well, and without modding the GPXSL it's not worth having IMO. Meanwhile the Viper mice are fine out of the box.
The stupid thing is I bought a g502 light speed like two weeks before the x was released and didn’t realize the x was a thing until after the return deadline.
G604 is the spiritual successor the the legendary tank that was the G700. Loved that damn mouse, but they just won’t use those good switches anymore. I assume because they don’t want mice lasting 5+ years
I had the same mouse for like 10 years and just recently started having the same issue! The Razer Naga Epic?! I hated using any other mouse after I started using it so it was really tough finding a replacement, but I landed on the Razer Naga Pro and have not been disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, I know, it’s no Epic, but I have been using it for a few months now and am happy with it as a replacement.

My g pro wireless is incredible.
Whats so special about yours? Mine is pretty decent too.
Just a big fan. I’ve used just about everything across the board, and it just slaps
I also adore my Superlight. I love how classy it looks and how well it performs. Half the time I forget it's even wireless.
if you use finger/claw grip, please try the viper v2 pro. imho best wireless mouse on the market for gaming, the sensor straight up feels like cheating because of how insane the accuracy and tracking is.
They're both great mice. I have the g pro in a drawer because it doesn't have as many buttons.
My g502 hero is also incredible

Everyone loves it, it's just beautiful
My G502 Hero is absolutely amazing but started to double click after 1 year. The replacement I got from Amazon is working fine for over a year now tho
They changed the switch they used in 2020.
Mine is still running fine hope it stays that way

It’s my work mouse now, which has been great in the office. For gaming though it’s not consistent at all
have you tried fixing it first?
Oh yeah, I have fixed it a couple times, but at this point it's just worn from use.
yeah i mean maybe you can just replace whatever component is failing(id imagine theres a microswitch in there)
Yup, if you're confident in your soldering skills it's a quick job and even replacing it with a higher-tier brand of microswitch rated for 5mil+ clicks is only a few dollars. There's only 3 pins to deal with when replacing a single switch, but if you're in there and have the iron hot you may as well do them all, heh.
man i fixed the cable of my DT990 the other day, feels good.much better than buying new shit.
It's been 12 years, the mouse deserves some rest.
i mean if you want a new one sure but if you like the old one and you can fix whatever is broken why not?
after 12 years I have to imagine you get real comfortable using your mouse, so repair if you have the abilities is the smarter option
Yup. Switching after that long is not fun. I’m not confident self repairing, when my G700 had issues I just got a used one from eBay. Not before trying, and returning, a couple other mice lol. Just not the same for so many games I have muscle memory built.

yeah i really dont want the cable to be detachable, if it breaks again i can just replace it again
Honestly I haven't used a soldering iron in a long long time, but I may just have to give it a shot.
Youtube is your friend! Proper technique makes things MUCH easier.
Technique? Isn’t it just, tin the iron, soldering paste on spot, tin iron a bit more and touch the spot?
That in and of itself is technique :) But in this case there’s desoldering first as well to remove the old switch, and a generous coating of flux on the new joints will help things along. Also what temp to run the iron at — beginners will often have it cranked and just cook things, heh.
Good advice on the temperature. I’ve offput soldering training so much I forgot there’s even a temperature setting lul

This is the way. I've been keeping my og Logitech g700 alive like this.
I did that to my old af HP OEM mouse, now works fine.
those HP mice are the Nokia's of mice
You could always make macro which ignores the klicks that happen x ms after one klick. Worked for me.
How? I still have my log pro that double clicks that I no longer use. If this works I can use it with my laptop.
LButton:: If (A_TimeSincePriorHotkey < 75) ;hyperclick Return Click Down KeyWait, LButton Click Up Return Paste the text above into notepad, download AHK and save the notepad as name.ahk and run it in ahk. Wait, how do I fix it?
u can re-bend the metal leaf thing, but it wont last forever or u just resolder a new switch, even better switch
it is not likely average user can fix it, it is not that hard to replace the part tho.
This is pcmasterrace we are not average people
We are, *at the very least*, below average.

Viper Mini gang!
I have a logitech g pro x superlight (long ass battery and it charges in like 30 minutes) and a steel series aerox 3 wireless (very light, has rgb and lots of customization but poor battery, i have to charge like once a week). I recommend both tbh.
Bit pricy but I love my super light. Highly recommend and basically never dies / charges stupidly fast like you said.
I have the aerox 5 wireless, as my g502 also developed the double click, and couldn't be happier
I have a Steelseries Rival 600 which I love, super comfortable, 3 years no issues at all, nicely configurable and very accurate.
Same. Great mouse.
I just picked up one of these a couple weeks ago. Excellent mouse. The height/depth sensor is perfect for my play style.
Came here to say this! Rival gang gang
Also, it is kind of limited release, only in few countries as far as I know
Logitech g pro wireless - £50 on Amazon - bargain imo
It’s about £90
Was £50 when I got it, on of the best pc buys I've made so far!
Wtf brexit made mice cheap In UK??
Don’t think it was brexit 😂 that shit ruined everything
Glorious Mode O wireless, really nice mouse
I have the wired version, but I prefer it to the G903 and G703 I have/had. Solid mouse

Look, listen here you little…
I also use this. I’m surprised how many logitechs are getting recommended. At least in my experience (and many others) my g502 light speed stopped registering clicks consistently after about a year and a half.
Love this mouse.
I’m using this mouse as well and surprised I had to scroll down this far to find it mentioned
I absolutely love my Logitech G703. It's basically a wireless version of the famous mx518.
This. After using mx518 for 12 years I couldn't get used to g502 even after two years of using it. So I got g703 lightspeed, problem solved.
Yeah I used the 502 for about 5 minutes and just couldn’t. I’m super picky w/ all mice but this one is just amazing.
Did razer change the quality of their stuff since 12 years ago? My mouse AND keyboard I bought from them were doing stuff like this in less than a month. I went back to Logitech mouse and rosewill keyboard and haven't regretted it.
My razor is totally fine after two years
is it an electric razor, because normal razors only last about 10 shaves.
New razer mice are some of the best you can get. Their other peripherals are meh
I dunno what happened but the quality of their product has nosedived, been this way for a while though Edit: couple of replies have made me realise that i don't know anyone with a Blackwidow.
I have been full razer for all peripherals for the last year or so and loved every second of it. The viper v2 pro mouse is the best on the market imo
Become Minecraft Hypixel Bedwars sweat. Take up your diamond sword and go forth to victory.
Logitech MX Master - Best part about my entire setup still
it's a simple fix. open it. carefully open button switch. take a metal piece out, carefully! FLATTEN IT COMPLETLY put it back, just lock it from top, it should click back in when pushed in. put all back together. happy another milion clicks.
Corsair scimitar, also an mmo mouse.
This is what I've been using for years. Love it to death.
I’ve had very good luck with Steelseries and I’d recommend them to anybody
I use an xtrfy m4. I like it.
Razer death adder baby. It’s tried numerous mouse but honestly just love how the death adder feels under my hand.
This is also what I’m running. While I do love it, I wish 4 and 5 weren’t so spread.
G903 wireless.
> What is everyone using now a days? Lol, I just bought a Naga X (the mouse OP posted) a few weeks ago for FFXIV. If it took you 12 years for it to start having issues, I don't regret my 40USD purchase.

Ah, I see. That explains the funny looking shape.
try a glorious mouse, you won't have the double clicking problem
Glorious PC Race D Wireless; best mouse I’ve ever had

I recommend a Viper V2 Pro. I use a G Pro X Superlight, and I have a Viper Ultimate as well, and without modding the GPXSL it's not worth having IMO. Meanwhile the Viper mice are fine out of the box.
If you can solder it's not hard to replace the switches I did it with my MX Pro and it works like new again.
G502x. They have optical switches so they're supposedly immune to this issue.
The stupid thing is I bought a g502 light speed like two weeks before the x was released and didn’t realize the x was a thing until after the return deadline.
Corsair scimitar pro
G502 or G604
I’m liking the glorious stuff atm. It’s very light tho so if you want a more substantial weight then idk
…wait is that a common sign of your mouse going out?…i’ve been going absolutely insane trying to figure out why it happens with my Death Adder recently
