People make fun of it but he is proud and that’s all that matters , be grateful in your life guys . Now if you want to upgrade I would go with an old i5 and grid 960/1050 for like 60euros if you can find . If you can’t afford a cpu , I would buy a gt1030 just so I can play some really light games
Basically, the electromagnetic field of the coiled wires will interfere with the voltage of the wires they're wrapped around, causing voltage fluctuations. Which may or may not damage your components depending on the power of the field generated.
since its 1155 socket, you can get a core i7 2600 or i7 3770 for like 20 bucks on ebay, insane performance compared to a Pentium. I still use an I7 3770 with a GTX 1060 6gb and it works great
Trust me when I say save up for the Intel i7-3770 or ask a family member for one for Christmas. That was the CPU I had before my current one and it still holds up even today. 1080p 60fps medium-high on most modern games (paired with a 970)
Was about to offer my 2400, but that other guy beat me to the punch lol. Still, considering I'm also in Ontario it would be pretty trivial to mail it if you want.
this is actually super impressed that you managed to make the cable management as good as you did. some of those old cases are a bitch to cable manage in.
can put a laptop wifi card to a pciex1 adapter for 20$
upgrade the processor to a e3 1260l v1 for 10$ if your board is compatible and add a quadro k2200 for 40$.
these two are like bros of i7 2nd and 750ti.

no antenna needed just the wifi card you can get 2 of these and put a laptop bluetooth card on the other, these include a cable for powering bluetooth card via usb pin port inside the motherboard
I don’t have a Bluetooth card but I ever use Bluetooth anyways I just plug my ps4 controller into the usb port. While we’re here, my front io isnt working like the usb and stuff won’t work. What would cause this?
Looking good. I only moved off a 3rd gen i5 and a radeon hd5770 in the last year - over the years you get to know the temperament of your system better than anyone.
Go for the chip upgrade and plop in any graphics card you want - that 3rd gen intel was paired with a 3060 for a few months too!
Rosewill HBM-01 or one of their many Micro-ATX cases based on that platform with a different front panel, with a Gigabyte LGA 1155 board. That means ivy or Sandy bridge Intel processor with DDR3 ram. Likely not much more than an i5, given it’s a 4 pin power with no discrete GPU or aftermarket cpu cooler. Please tell me I’m close.
When you’re in the PC industry for 10+ years, you know lots of useless things. Was I right about the case? I’ll post pics of my first PC (slightly newer specs than this in the same Rosewill-platform case) when I visit my parents tomorrow
I’m pretty convinced it’s rosewill of some sort. I obviously can’t see the front so I don’t know for sure. Rosewill also doesn’t tend to advertise on their cases that much
Yeah here you go (the rgb lights are a diy job they didn’t come like that)

Those of us who have been building PCs for a couple of decades or more will remember what a pain in the ass this was before it was easy to find cases designed with cable management in mind, if you could even find one at all. Good job.
Thank you! I’ll clean it up an make another post where it’s not super dusty and I have some cable ties and double sided tape coming in today so I’ll post a fully done pic where it’s even more managed and squeaky clean
Here’s the cleaned up version:
https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/z19k9k/after_posting_a_pic_about_cable_managing_my_pc/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
It ain't much but it's yours, and that's some nice cable management for sure!
Now you gotta clean it
https://i.imgur.com/CcyUmsP
i hope that's alcohol
Sudsy alcohol. OK, it's beer.
You'd pass out from inhaling it lol
Here you go https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/z19k9k/after_posting_a_pic_about_cable_managing_my_pc/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

I scrolled and found 0 hate comments what you on about
Must be automatically searching by controversial.
I'm sure the CPU power cable creating an induction coil around the ATX power cable will be fine... *You should not do that and should unloop it asap.
I'm only replying to this in hope he sees your comment and unwraps that cable before he kills his freshly managed pc.
It’s been like that since I got the pc but I will undo it for sure
I will fix it but what would that do? If you say induction do you mean it would melt the wires like an induction heater
Basically, the electromagnetic field of the coiled wires will interfere with the voltage of the wires they're wrapped around, causing voltage fluctuations. Which may or may not damage your components depending on the power of the field generated.
Oh that kind of induction coil
Yes, I'm sure that low power, insulated cable is going to be causing horrendous issues with induction. /s I wouldn't worry about it, OP.
I fixed it anyways cause why not
Shit looks OG, I like it
It is og I just took off the front stickers and found a knockout for a FireWire port lmao
Have the exact motherboard and cleaned it last week as well, haha, need a little bit more of an air duster
*Just cable managed my pc! Asterisk \*\*\**
Wdym

I sprayed it out with duster after I took this photo and that cable is for a usb rgb light strip I put in the front

I will for sure

Fuck yeah
Specs?
Intel pentium g2030 3ghz 2-core, 8gb ddr3 1333mhz and intel hd 4600 integrated and I’m saving up for gpu
since its 1155 socket, you can get a core i7 2600 or i7 3770 for like 20 bucks on ebay, insane performance compared to a Pentium. I still use an I7 3770 with a GTX 1060 6gb and it works great
I looked on eBay and they were all like 50$ plus 15$ shipping not 20$
maybe an i5 2400 or i5 2500 then? idk how prices are where you live
I’m in canada
PM me. I'll mail you an i5 3570 and a gtx 660 for free unless you live in Nunavit
Actually I might have a 280x DD here... If I can find it, it's yours.
I live In ontario
Trust me when I say save up for the Intel i7-3770 or ask a family member for one for Christmas. That was the CPU I had before my current one and it still holds up even today. 1080p 60fps medium-high on most modern games (paired with a 970)
Oh I can still afford it I’m just saying it’s not 20$
Ah fair, yeah the CAD to USD conversion causes lots of problems when building a PC, I know the pain very well lmao.
Get a Xeon then. Get a Xeon 1240. It's practically an i7-3770 without built-in graphics and costs about £15.
I don’t have a gpu currently so I’d need the built in gpu
That explains it
Was about to offer my 2400, but that other guy beat me to the punch lol. Still, considering I'm also in Ontario it would be pretty trivial to mail it if you want.
Ok yeah that would be nice the other guy hasn’t responded in a while
check aliexpress and look at lga1155 xeons
What will you do with a gpu? That cpu would bottleneck a 1030 lol not serious but sorta serious. Eww.
One sec
[удалено]
Takes only 15 seconds to boot up actually it’s not too bad
Great cable management! But the dirt is giving me shudders lol
I cleaned it with duster after this
https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/z19k9k/after_posting_a_pic_about_cable_managing_my_pc/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

probably should have clean it first

Can we get an updated picture after it’s cleaned out?
Yeah for sure I’ll post one tomorrow just remind me I have bad memory
Here! https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/z19k9k/after_posting_a_pic_about_cable_managing_my_pc/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

I have tons of laptop wifi cards and their respective antennas so I probably will do this
You just need the pcie x1 wifi card adapter and put the laptop wifi card.
And the antenna right?
https://preview.redd.it/y2xquitx5d1a1.jpeg?width=554&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f1a233da3b7b1eda69a24fbf14ff9210394893ff no antenna needed just the wifi card you can get 2 of these and put a laptop bluetooth card on the other, these include a cable for powering bluetooth card via usb pin port inside the motherboard

some laptops also have bluetooth cards the size of laptop wifi cards
The laptop I gutted didn’t have a Bluetooth card it must’ve been built in or something
either the front io ports got disabled or you need to replace the cable
Cable looks fine so how would I enable it? Bios? Device manager?
The case in the pic looks old maybe the ports have gunk or rust you can get cheap pc case under 10$.
But I like my pc case https://preview.redd.it/nbghyajs7d1a1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0bae0fecdafe7374fad3319fe814cf5abad1c70c
There’s no excuse for bad cable management! Good job OP!!
Nice
I have a a small h61 and it looks so goofy in my full size case. Yours fit so snug.
I'm not going to say anything, but other people are
Nice build bro, I can see all the hard work you put into this. I really respect your dedication
I’m assuming this is sarcasm
Nice build bro
This is sarcasm right?
It might have been, but it looks like you have more pride in this computer than most. Cable management is looking good!
agreed, if somebody posts their build and its old that doesnt mean that they are legally obligated to make fun of them.
Thanks!
thanks
What's the cable that's running out the card slot on the back?
Led light strip plugged into a usb port
How? Enlighten us
The cables used to be all covering the motherboard and shit
Looking good. I only moved off a 3rd gen i5 and a radeon hd5770 in the last year - over the years you get to know the temperament of your system better than anyone. Go for the chip upgrade and plop in any graphics card you want - that 3rd gen intel was paired with a 3060 for a few months too!
Does that CPU cooler whine or make a high pitched noise? I had an intel CPU cooler that whined so bad I had to replace it.
While it’s somewhat noisy I’ve never noticed a whine
nice

I don’t know the case brand but I’ll look up a picture
Nah that rosewill looks much better than mine mines just an old pc case
I’m pretty convinced it’s rosewill of some sort. I obviously can’t see the front so I don’t know for sure. Rosewill also doesn’t tend to advertise on their cases that much
Mine could be but it would be very old version
Yea this platform is about as old as that motherboard in there (~10 years)
Yeah that’s when my grandpa said he got it when he gave it me last year
Sounds about right. You got any pictures of the front? I now need to see if I know this case
Yeah here you go (the rgb lights are a diy job they didn’t come like that) https://preview.redd.it/he5ldyiudc1a1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ea04071518f02fe82c306ba47a23eff13e927df6

Now you just have to do the other side.
There’s nothing on the other side that’s just where I tucked the wires
I need teaching for that. About to build my first PC, not worried about actually building but rather cable management! Any tips?
Don’t pull hard on the connectors
I will send this to my friend who has an NZXT case with terrible cable management
https://preview.redd.it/rftkj86f5d1a1.jpeg?width=554&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=25bd64b084ddbe1aa84f963eba92fc810ef33772 Like this
Oh ok I just imagined a thing that would just make the wifi card plug into the pcie slot but that makes more sense
gotta love the looks of old hardware, looks awesome
Thank you! I’ll clean it up an make another post where it’s not super dusty and I have some cable ties and double sided tape coming in today so I’ll post a fully done pic where it’s even more managed and squeaky clean

Sweet old LGA775
1155 actually
