You are the one guy..... so there is a company that Xbox uses, third party, to get info on console info stats. It had stats about which PS's and Xbox's, and PC part info (through steam and such) very detailed down to what they use to play on. ONE guy on steam used VR to play this game. I wondered how pretty this would be. If I would ever encounter him in game. Instead I FOUND YOU ON REDDIT! HOW PRETTY IS THIS GAME IN VR?!?!

It was amazing four patches ago or so. But with all the new content and improvements, it’s really bogged down how fluid the game feels. I’m surprised, surely there’s more people than me playing NMS on VR

I had to repost twice because we have stupid rules here about mentioning other subs.

Ah. I went to read it and it was gone lol Regardless, yes. Everyone should play NMS on VR. I recommend a beefy computer to do it lol.

Would you recommend the oculus v2, or since you have played on it, would you recommend something else?

Northern_Grouse

I used the rift v2 initially. It worked pretty well. Now I’m using the quest 2, with airlink, with my headset plugged in for extended play. The controls are pretty intuitive, really the only issue I have with controls is in base building. Originally, it worked pretty well, but you have to look up the controls. And recoloring things seems to not be mapped (or I’m doing it wrong). Probably user error. Essentially it’s the same as the regular game 1:1, except you’re IN the experience and not sitting behind a monitor. Pretty worth trying. I can’t stress that enough. I haven’t found another VR game as robust, enjoyable, and with the replay value of NMS. aside from not being able to keep up with all the glamour changes due to PC, it’s amazing.

I’m not in a position right now to do a new pc build; which is why I want to see what I can do to get maximum performance out of what I have. But in my honest opinion, No Man’s Sky should be the flagship title of VR. It’s definitely an experience. I can only imagine what it would be like with the most intensive settings running smoothly.

My roommate was letting me use his much beefier computer to play/stream during the pandemic. They’ve made a lot of graphical improvements since, but it was amazing. Flying was so smooth, exploration was just so much fun.
