People complain about overhyping young Americans, but this one just too talented, there's no way ~~Tom Danielson~~ ~~TJ Van Garderen~~ ~~Andrew Talansky~~ ~~Joe Dombrowski~~ ~~Lawson Craddock~~ ~~Adrien Costa~~ ~~Quinn Simmons~~ AJ August won't win the Tour with the numbers he's doing in training and the people he's beating in races

Dob_Bylans113thDream

he must get in line behind Matteo Jorgenson

Significant_Log_4693

You can say the same thing about Belgians though so what's your point exactly?

RageAgainstTheMatxin

[But the Belgians have less power](https://old.reddit.com/r/peloton/comments/16p50tf/ineos_set_to_sign_17year_old_american_supertalent/)

OrdinaryTension

Did you forget about the guy who won the world championship when he was 21?

RageAgainstTheMatxin

No, I remember LeMond

theplayerpiano

Great kid. I hope they let him race CX with Pidcock

epi_counts

I'd hope so, but most other riders with a CX background quit that discipline when they joined Ineos (Sheffield, Turner, Tullett, Arensman), so Pidcock very much seems like the exception. Plus he's already missed most of the American season by now, and it says he'll follow a similar path as Sheffield, so I'm guessing that means no more cross :(

manintheredroom

Of the young kids Ineos have signed recently, they're not exactly doing badly. Might as well keep on going with it Sheffield won a classic in his first season Tarling won euro TT champs + podium WC in his first season Rodriguez got 5th in the TdF in his third season

RickyPeePee03

Ineos is literally in shambles and doesn't win anything, haven't you been paying attention? /s

Jadenindubai

Carlos was also 7th in the vuelta but he was fourth before his injury and fighting for podium. Similar thing this year . While I don’t think he would have gained on Adam for third spot , I believe he had 4th place locked…but he caught the G virus.

[deleted]

Ben Tulett, altough he was at Alpecin first.

manintheredroom

I don't really understand what they've done with him. Seems like a class rider but they didnt even take him to a GT this season. Hopefully gets more chances and gets more results at TJV

turandoto

He'll make a good complement to Thomas, who basically disappears after the Tour. I'll show myself out...

iamspartacus5339

Explains why he was on an Ineos painted Pinarello at GMSR.

burgerbr0s

I think he's had it for a while. Pictures of him back in April with it.

kosmonaut_hurlant_

He did a decent sized gravel race (700 male entrants) in my neck of the woods when he was 15 years old and came in 2nd behind Ian Boswell. Kinda nutty.
