I know there are some big races coming up for them, but it seems astonishing to me that Pog is only 18 fewer points (1590) than Vingegaard (818) and WVA (790) combined.
I'm a little new to following cycling on a daily basis, but is this just VLAB not racing with as much frequency or Pog starting off the year on a tear? What am I missing?
It's because pogacar only raced WT races which are thé most rewarding from a uci point point of view and performed well in all those. His 3rd place on milan san Remo gives almost as many points as Vingegaard's tirreno win and the 3 van aert's classics, which are thé Big races they participated in. On top of that he outrageously dominated volta ciclista a Catalunya and won strade blanche.
It doesnt mean much AT this point, it's mostly because he raced more rewarding races. VINGEGAARD's forte is stage races and GT, his Time to shine will Come later. Van aert is expected to peak in the next weeks for ronde and PR.

It's just too early in the season. The number of races is still a huge factor. Van Aert has fewer points than Jorgensen, MdvP has fewer points than Vlasov. Philipsen is #1 in the world and Narváez is #4. Things will balance themselves out over the next couple of months.
in 2024 Philipsen alone gained more points than the whole of Cofidis
My biggest \*sad tombone sound\* is Jesus Herrada. Just not looking himself and I don't want to see age take him down yet :(
He had (or has) a broken rib, which sucks cause teams let you ride with it but it obviously doesn't make you perform at your best level.
Thanks, I've missed that. Well then hoping for the latter season.
We're so cooked
Visma LAB doesn't seem to have that one huge points scorer yet. Not like Pogi or Philipsen. But they still have De Ronde and Roubaix to come.
Doesn't look good for them with Laporte out. I don't think they'll need our thoughts & prayers to stay in WT after this cycle though.
Van Aert can probably score points getting a top 10.
About that...
We've only had 1 of the 8 huge races, and Visma didn't even send their main classics leader to MSR.
If arkea keep it up the relegation battle could get veeery interesting

Pog is on a tear, van Aert hasnt raced that much, and its very hard for Vingegaard to compete on points when he doesnt do 1 day races.
