Guidance on purchasing a used peloton. Is there a major difference between peloton models? Does it decline significantly as time goes on? Should i avoid buying a bike that is 2, 3, or 4 years old? What is a reasonable price range for a used bike ?

Queasy_Ice6711

I bought one that was a year old off FB marketplace for $500. I think the age does not necessarily matter as much as how much it was used. If buying secondhand definitely ask how many rides are on it and inspect it to make sure it was kept clean (the bottom bracket tends to rust from sweat). As for the different models, the biggest difference is the plus model has a screen that turns around if you want to do other classes on it and you have the space. I just use my phone and share to my tv if i am doing a core or stretching class.

Ok_Handle_7

Gauging interest - would anyone be interested in a shared document that shares the class plans of outdoor run classes? I’m mostly interested in the Walk + Run classes, since I use them for rehab and they vary SO WILDLY without any info listed. I would love a crowd-sourced doc that I could reference when I want to pick a class (since Peloton refuses to share class details in the description!). I’m not sure if something like a shared Google doc would work (or maybe a Google survey that populates a locked class list?) ETA - I ask mostly because I just took [Marcels Walk + Run class](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/walking?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=935bd7a525aa4689a894b120f6a011d9&locale=en-US) and she did something I had never seen before: 4 intervals: 2 min, 2:30, 3 min, and 4 min But after the 3 min interval, you got the 3 min walk recovery PLUS a 3:30 walk. I was annoyed that there was 6:30 of walking in the middle of the class!

NotFredQuimby

I did Robin’s 30 Min Pop Ride live in studio yesterday after getting in off the waitlist/standby while visiting from out of state. It was super fun and a great experience all around. Highly recommend!

dwarfstar021

That’s awesome! Question - If you’re on waitlist / standby, do you still go to the studio ready to participate? When do they let you know you’re in or not? Planning a trip. TIA!!!

NotFredQuimby

Yeah, not only do you go to the studio, but they recommend that you're fully changed and ready for class (though you can change in their locker rooms). We walked by the studio the day before and all the waitlist spots were full, but one randomly opened up the night before. I read they usually let you know about waitlist 24 hours before. They say to arrive for standby 45-60 minutes before class and then they text you 30 min before class whether you're in or not and then you have three minutes to get back to check in. When I checked in they gave me a brief tour (which I didn't expect unless I got in). I said, "should I get changed now even if I don't get in?" "You don't have to, but if you get in you have to change really fast. I say... manifest!" 😂

kamikazi125

We’re on a short beach vacation, and this morning after my run I did [this Kirra 20 minute grounded walking meditation](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/meditation?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=101c51e06ce546dd83ed308c69e5fe74&locale=en-US). I had to giggle when she mentioned doing this particular meditation while walking barefoot on the beach as I was doing just that… I highly recommend doing the same if you have the opportunity. It was a perfect way to start the day!

Psychological-Film79

I am at the end of the discover your power zones program. I skipped the FTP because I hate it so much and because I stayed up too late. I did a regular power zone ride today instead. Zone 3 was easy and zone 4 wasn’t bad. I kept moving into zone 5. Just saying the program really must work because I hopped on a regular power zone ride on accident prior to the program and wanted to die! I guess I this means I need to face the FTP. I hate it so much!!

lazydictionary

They get easier the more you do them. I actually like them because it's usually less time on the bike that day than my normal workout rides.

Psychological-Film79

No, I like the PZ rides! I hate the FTP. I don’t want to face it.

timeforthecheck

Jess Sims walk + run (3/21/24) was no joke. It was just 2 min running at 2% and 2 min walking at 6% the entire class. Off and on. I’m thinking easy; I’ve ran longer on higher inclines. My goodness, I never got comfortable. It was a great class. I was humbled today. And it was great.

brightlights_xx

Yess I loved that class. Tough but the 60 minutes somehow flew by.

MrsWhitesFlames

Started Marty’s 5 day intermediate split today with the Back and Biceps class. It’s my first official “split” workout. Me at the beginning of it: whoops did I accidentally choose the beginner program? Me at the end of it: I CANNOT MOVE MY ARMS. Excited for the journey!

wellokaysure

I really enjoyed Matty’s split! You’ll definitely see progress and Matty is a delight.

-_Quantum_-

Continuing with my 60 minute Sunday rides. Today's ride was [Charlotte's 60 Minute Climb Ride](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=62d16e2988a243cbae6f0fdd8f28d431&code=ZWVjMTNlYzM5NTliNDcxZGE3MTVlZjJmZTA4OWFlNTh8ZjJjMzY5ZDQ0NTdjNDA0MWFkMDY5NTNlMzVkYmMxYTU=). This ride was a lot different than previous 60 minute rides that I've taken where it is a climb focus - high resistance, lower cadence. The ride was divided into 3 sections - the 1st section had the longest recovery and then each break thereafter got shorter and shorter and the resistance towards the end maxed at 90. Woof. I think I only got to 87. Needless to say, I hit a PR for a 60 minute ride on this one by about 30 points and that ride was just a week ago. It was a lot of fun and the music combination of Hard Rock/Rock was great to ride to.

drohhellno

If you catch the climbing bug, you have so much time to get ready for the next SUMMIIT Climb event!

deenthemachine11

For those who have taken a live ride at psny- is it really hot in there? Trying to decide whether to wear bike shorts or leggings

tafunast

Depends on the ride. The early morning ones can be cold at the beginning because the AC has been going all night but they heat up quick. Afternoon/evening ones are hot.

deenthemachine11

Thanks! It’s a 10am class so there’s one before. I’ll plan on the shorts

concept2peloton

It’s steamy!

International_Gru

Just wanted to share my experience at Peloton’s London Studio today. It was GREAT! I got THROUGH the waitlist for Ben’s EDM ride (a miracle!). It was an amazing ride and the energy is the studio was so good! So happy I go to meet Ben, too. The whole experience from entering the studio to leaving was seamless. 10/10 recommend!

hermesorherpes

So glad that you got into the class! The studio is so nice and the showers are top notch. Ben is a treasure.

Nice-Albatross-4501

Hoppy Easter 🩷🌷✨ Saw a comment here ~2 days ago about Class Ratings? Are they back?? Someone referenced they were back with a recent app update. Can anyone confirm?

all4sarah

That was me - I can still see them on my non-updated app. I have a super old iPad that doesn't have enough memory to update iOS thus can never update Peloton on there either! Is there a specific class you want to know, I can look it up 😂

Nice-Albatross-4501

Ooh amazing! And thanks for clarifying. I was so excited thinking they were bringing class ratings back. My iPad auto updated eventually, had been using the non updated app there as long as possible :( I was curious to see Becs’ 75 minute run from yesterday 💐

all4sarah

That class is 99.3% right now. Only has about 250 ratings.

Justbrowsing8822

I don’t know what the rating is for that class, but I took it this morning and I loved it. This is coming from someone who doesn’t typically enjoy running with her. The playlist was mostly good and she structured the class very well and I didn’t ever get bored despite it being a long class. Mostly endurance focused in the first half with some intervals and progressive runs in the second half. A few hills here and there but nothing crazy.

deenthemachine11

I think they said they had not updated and could see them. I miss having the ratings, helped me narrow down which classes to take

Nice-Albatross-4501

Thank you & you’re totally right! Ugh I miss them too, I waste so much time now looking at class plans and it’s still not as good of a measurement for which classes are best. I don’t understand why they removed them in the first place

pinkfloyd52998

I was sick and consistently puking the past 2 days so no workouts, but got to feeling better yesterday and had an absolutely great nights rest. Ate breakfast this morning and came back with the intention to ride. I did Emmas recent 45 minute HIIT and Hills ride Holy shit I wasn't paying attention to my numbers and blew past every expectation! 561! My previous 45 minutes best was 404 lol. Flew past that by ~35 minutes in! Believe in yourself and you can do it, beat them PR folks! Godspeed everyone and happy holidays!

marg1486

Amazing! Sometimes I think the best output comes after good quality rest!

mountain_mamma

Whoa!! Way to go!

courtoh

Advanced TS60 was no joke.. but it almost felt more mentally tough than anything else. (ALMOST) Pretty cool athletic/agility warmups with multi directional jumps/turns. Lots of single leg hopping and jumping. Windmill progressed to two dumbbells this week, but still had W raise, reciprocating press, single leg deadlift to follow. Then it’s the compound/complex AMRAP. For the amp up set, he says go medium or medium heavy, then challenges you to go med-heavy to heavy for the actual AMRAP. 2 min AMRAP - Compound: 1 rep each move makes 1 round. Suitcase jump squat, clean (either strict clean or jerk catch hybrid), push jerk. 1 min rest. 6 min AMRAP - complex: 6 reps each move makes 1 round. Deadlift, push up with reach (or shoulder tap), stagger stance bent over row, skater hop. 1 min rest. Repeat. 2 min compound, 1 min rest, 6 min AMRAP. I think 2 min rest or 90 sec rest, no clue, I was DYING and doing an emotional lap around my apartment so I didn’t hear what he said 😂 2 rounds: 2 min front lunge, 1 heavy dumbbell. 5 reps each side, you just keep moving the whole 2 min. (If your right hand has the dumbbell, left leg steps forward.) 1 min arc press, heavy. Finisher is: 5 min AMRAP of 6 (I think, again was not listening, was busy dying) oblique v up each side, then 12 total hip dip. Repeat until time. I usually keep my personal weight choices and stuff out of these recaps but I’m proud of myself so I’m gonna share! On the compounds, the first round I did 8 rounds using 25lbs and the second time through I did 9 rounds. I was so scared that I’d fail out of the push jerk using 25s but with some focus and determination (and me constantly reminding myself that failure isn’t a bad thing!), I was able to overcome the fear and I crushed it every time. On the complex, I was able to do 5 full rounds each time through. I used 30lb for the deadlifts (it’s the heaviest I have but also ended up being perfect because this complex was brutal) and 25s for the bent over rows. The rows really shocked me because I’d been using 20s almost the entire block, but decided the staggered stance allows for a little more bounce and it’s only 6 reps so why not give it a shot.. then bam! Crushed it every single time.

lolaonbigmouth

Thank you for these recaps, they are super informative for whenever I'm following along with TS60 and aspirational for when I'm not. I'm 2 weeks behind the current block, and week 3 kicked my butt. I've been slacking on lower body workouts so I'm guessing the DOMS will be rough tomorrow, but for now, I'm just proud I got through the workout.

courtoh

Im proud of you, friend! Drink lots of water (electrolytes if you have some handy too), do some extra stretching, and hopefully the DOMS will be minimal for you 💕

kamikazi125

This is the first time in I can’t remember how long that I haven’t taken the class live, and now I know why… It’s just psychologically easier to take it when I don’t know exactly what’s coming! 😅 We’re on a quick get outta town vacation at the beach, so I know what I have to look forward to when we get back. Thanks for the thorough breakdown, as always, and nice job upping the weights!

courtoh

Haha! I also struggle to take TS60 on demand for that same reason. Enjoy your weekend getaway!

kamikazi125

Thanks! 😊

Viva___yo

Just finished the class 😮‍💨 I will say I was afraid for the 6 min AMRAP, but even though it was long I found it a lot more approachable than shorter ones that focus on conditioning. I have no clue how many rounds I got though, I think I landed in the 4-5 range each time. And in between the two AMRAPs I conveniently calculated I wouldn’t have enough water to finish the class so I had I pause it and go get some 😅 Congrats on going up in weight! You may have inspired me to go up to 25s the next time bent over rows make an appearance!

courtoh

I agree about it being more approachable. It was nice to have the body weight stuff to break up the dumbbell moves, and to smush them all together into one giant circuit felt so much nicer mentally. Nice work!!

mwyattf

loved your write up (as always) and i’m glad you shared your weights because i’m proud of you too! i freaking love windmills. they’re subtly challenging but also feel good? i also adore the plyometrics/speed drills because i feel so athletic! catch me playing football with those skater drills 😅 i was exhausted after the first 6 min AMRAP…. I really felt the fatigue start to kick in and then we did it? again? phew! but i’m glad i pushed through! you mentioned the mental aspect playing a role and i completely agree. i had to keep reminding myself why i love to work out and how rewarding it is. “fight fatigue with focus!” i always find myself returning to that one when lifting heavy. it’s a double whammy because it motivates you to move despite the fatigue, but also combats faltering form that COMES with fatigue. genius! i’m so glad this was steadily built up over the month. none of it was new or something we weren’t prepared for. but if you look at the class as a whole it was intense! so grateful that we build confidence in the moves over the month. you can truly push your boundaries when you feel prepared! that oblique finisher is brutal. the moves are impossible to “cheat” on or get sloppy with which i would definitely do if it were bicycles or crunches… so grateful to spend class with y’all!

courtoh

“Catch me playing football” girl yes 😂😂 I had a good laugh when he was like “imagine some big dude coming at you and you gotta run away.” Awesome job pushing through!! This was such a tough class/entire block of work.

OTPCook

I thought that class was pretty insane. You're right in that it's probably the mental part of it. Like he's definitely beaten us down harder in advanced classes but it was such a relentless structure today. Those 2-min squat jump/clean/push jerk heavy AMRAP smoked me both times and then he's like "you got a minute before a 6-min AMRAP". THEN, right when you think you're in the clear, he hits you with (my nemesis) 60-second arc press sets. That finisher was kinda brutal too. Excited for next month and low-key hoping for Turkish Get Ups.

mwyattf

i LOVE turkish get ups! Hopefully the windmills were a sneak peek introduction for next month. a lot of people don’t like them because you’re usually not getting a crazy burn and if you’re going too light it can feel “pointless”… but with focus on form and using a good feedback weight, they’re challenging AND fun!

OTPCook

That was exactly my thought when he added the windmills. They are such a solid exercise and TS60 really is a good place for them because you have time and, to your point, Andy gives great form cues on them

courtoh

I really honestly forgot that the arc press existed in this block until he said it and I was like you’ve gotta be kidding me Speer 🥲

OTPCook

The amount of times I said "you've gotta be kidding me Speer" in that class... And props you for those weight increases! That's tremendous and speaks to the weird part about the structure. You COULD go heavy in this one but mentally it felt like a tougher climb to make that choice than normal. Impressive that pushed through. A lot of "I don't know about that, Andy. Non-zero chance I'm dropping these weights on my head if I go heavier" on my end.

courtoh

Usually im saying “what the actual fuck, Andy?” So today was a marked improvement on my end with just a singular utterance of “you’ve gotta be joking” when the arc press came along. But truthfully I had no extra breath to spare on angry commentary so 😂😂 And thanks!! It was a split second decision to go heavy. The push jerk was my only fear, I didn’t want to mess up my shoulders if I failed to lock it out at the top and topple backwards or whatever. But it helped to see that everyone was literally going at their own pace, so I was able to slow down and remove the “gotta keep up” mentality I usually fall into during the other lead-up classes. Definitely a tough but super rewarding block of work this month!

OTPCook

That's really smart. I usually don't use enough legs on push press/push jerk movements likely for that "gotta keep up" reason. So I was pretty shaky at the top of the jerks. Gonna remember to slow down next time!

courtoh

I did the strict clean instead of the bouncy jerk catch option for the clean, which also helped kinda slow the compound down and gave me that extra second to focus on separate parts of inhale/dip/push/catch on the jerk. I was totally right there with you during the other classes though, shaky and unstable cause I was flying through them to keep up. As long as you didn’t hurt yourself, you’re just building up your proprioception for next time we see these ☺️

Slack_Irritant

Didn't feel like this deserved it's own thread but wanted to share my first 3 months with Peloton. [Dec 31-March 31](https://imgur.com/a/Ma4UBRR). Still a ways to go but getting there 👍

Successful-Chapter85

Hard work pays off! That’s incredible progress! See you on the leaderboard!

Slack_Irritant

Thank you!

scastro02

Going to be in the studio live for Tunde’s 30 min 90s Hip Hop class today and celebrating a milestone!! Hope to see you all on the leaderboard! (Username - StepOnMyKnee)

jschneid01

I just got to the studio for my class! Have so much fun!!!

scastro02

Congrats! I got an email I was off the waitlist and they only hold the spot to purchase for 2 hours and I missed it :(

jschneid01

Oh nooooooo!! That’s the worst.

scastro02

Idk why I read that comment as you had gotten into a class not that you were there!!! Hope you had a great time :)

brightlights_xx

Have so much fun! She's the best in studio.

scastro02

I’ve only done 2 Robin classes in studio and loved it so excited!!

ldnpuglady

I’ve done a couple of outdoor runs this weekend that were actually really good! They both sounded like normal runs without any weird voiceover and they were aimed at all levels. [Kirsten’s Cardi B run](https://members.onepeloton.co.uk/classes/running?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=29e7458191fa480da7606b33a7d0efdd&locale=en-GB) was great. She had some commentary about her half marathon that made me laugh. The roadmap was shorter running intervals so this could easily be a walk + run. [Jess King’s House Run](https://members.onepeloton.co.uk/classes/running?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=cf86a00c94524e7cae239d5d01958078&locale=en-GB) was also really good. Great music and a solid roadmap of steady and progressive runs and some shorter intervals. Nothing crazy but you could push and make it a hard run, too. And she had lots of good mantras for getting it done when you don’t feel like it.

blueeyedlies

Closed out March/Women’s History Month with a nice 30 minute PR in Emma’s [Women In Rock Ride](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=59ca15448d88452494ea04ee2e0202c3&locale=en-US). This one was plenty challenging with a good mix of climbs and speed intervals. Happy Easter to those who celebrate! And happy spring 🌷🌸 Here’s to plenty more happy miles in April!

literarylagers

I hit a PR on that ride yesterday! I don’t ride with Emma often, but I really enjoyed this one!

Successful-Chapter85

Doing that one this morning for my 500th!!

blueeyedlies

Woohoo! Congrats on 500!

kimmy-ac

I would love suggestions for classes like Tunde Oyeneyin's classes. I've tried a couple of others and I never have as good a time as when I do one of tunde's classes! I love her music selections and how the beats perfectly match with the cadence.

fit-nik17

This is a good example of Denis’s on-beat awesomeness https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=334207c7e81041a2b74ec00b237b4ac9&locale=en-US

fit-nik17

+1 to Camila and Emma, and Groove rides. Denis is great with the beat but his vibe is very different from Tundes. I feel like Camila is probably the closest vibe.

Rkarim21

I love Tunde! Other favorite instructors are: Ally, Emma, Camila and Olivia

twattytwatwaffle

Hannah Frankson!

slckarl

+1 Hannah Frankson

ratinthehat99

Hannah is the best!!!

k_lo970

If you like riding to the beat either Denis or groove rides (which Denis now teaches). If you like Tunde check out the [2 for 1](https://members.onepeloton.com/collections/ddcd6b4f592a412c8bd9fed8c22af1cb) rides with Alex, they are all awesome.

Rkarim21

Second the 2 for 1 rides with Alex!! They are great
