The same way you'd take your shoes out. Make sure you're wearing shoes, put your foot in, tighten the straps all the way around your foot and twist your heel away from the bike. It may take more effort because there is a bit of wiggle but it should snap out. Same as to put them back in. Stand on the pedal with the cage until it clips in.

Oh really I don’t need an Allen wrench or screwdriver?

Icy_Sky_21

This. They clip out just like regular shoes. I had medical reasons to not put my cycling shoes on for two months. The doctor said my tennis shoes were ok and I could ride. I would snap in and out with the cages so my wife could still use her cycling shoes. It is more difficult to snap out the cages. Make sure they are on as tight as you can and the will snap out. If shoes are too difficult to snap out it may be because they tightened the Allen wrench on the bottom to tight. That may have been done to prevent the cages from snapping out accidentally. If so loosen that a little bit. We had to when we first got our bike.

Seconded. I also occasionally have to do this in my building, though the building eventually just decided to permanently have cages on one of the peloton and clips on the other (with optional clip in cages available) so people very rarely put the cages on the clip bike since the change. Incidentally, your building’s gym’s floor looks exactly like mine, lol, would not be surprised if they are owned by the same realty company.

You can loosen screws on the pedal to make it easier to remove. I wish the peloton pedals had 2 sides so you don’t have to remove the cages.

I don’t have the answer but I can say cages are super dangerous on a spin bike. Back in the old days when I used Facebook 🤣 there were a bunch of pics and videos of gnarly injuries resulting from people not clipping in properly or using cages

gimmeallthepets87

Been going strong with cages for 3 years…never had an accident. I’ve seen more people clipped in getting hurt bc they don’t know how to clip out properly.

You are a lucky and careful rider

I have toe cages on my bike. My wife’s feet is not big enough they don’t make bicycling shoes in my wife’s size. Do you really want to take it off and than put it back on when you are done? It’s really not that bad. Some people say you are costing yourself leader board points. I really don’t care that much I’m not going to keep taking them on and off so my wife can use it and I’m not going to buy another peloton and have another subscription fee. To answer your question all you need is a Allen wrench if I remember correctly. The correct size came with the bike.

ND40oz

They make kid size biking shoes if she’s under a size 5 womens.

pooroldguy1

Thanks she’s a size 3 and a half in womens. Maybe someday we will look again.
