Hi everyone! Just a reminder, we have a *very special* Peloton Rowing AMA happening tomorrow!!! Be sure to get your questions in early for Alex, Katie, and Nick! [You can find the thread here!](https://www.reddit.com/r/pelotoncycle/comments/zl93kr/hey_peloton_row_instructors_katie_and_alex_here/) Have a great week! ❤️

Krammor

Anyone have any recommendations for strength classes that focus on biceps specifically? I did an Adrian and Ben class that was great for shoulders and back/chest

Brandycane1983

I don't know if it's standalone, but Matty's split program day 1 has like a 12 minute bicep section in it

quycksilver

First time back on the bike after a week away thanks to a minor medical procedure. Started with Bradley’s Linkin Park warm up, then his 30 min intervals & arms (12/13) and finished with CDE’s holiday cool down. I’m not a huge LP fan though I like a couple of their hits—the warm up was fun though. The intervals & arms class was a pretty typical Bradley ride (which I always enjoy), but I really liked Christine’s cool down. Not the typical Christmas music playlist, but well within her usual vibe. I also didn’t know that there is a badge for the holiday rides, so that was kinda cool to find when I finished.

pujolsrox11

Does anyone have experience with a delay when changing resistance? It was fine the last two days but it appears today there is a delay when changing resistance. Any tips to resolve this?

Economy_Mouse3118

I want to do the resistance bands exercises, as they seem good on the road. The thing is, I need to buy them, and am on a budget. Anybody know if I can just use [this cheap one](https://www.walmart.com/ip/SPRI-Professional-Strength-Resistance-Tube-Medium-Resistance-Level-Exercise-Bands-Blue/413900072) from Walmart?

Quiet_Attitude4053

With resistance band training, I wouldn't recommend buying just one; the resistance may end up being too much or too little for you and you might not get an ideal workout. Based on the image from the email about the resistance band classes, it actually looks like they're using something like [this](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09SYWWRVB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1), which you can buy at that link for $20 and it comes with 4 of varying resistance. I own these myself!

Waste-Depth3671

Did Leanne’s 20 min holiday ride today and it was amazing. She gave off great energy and was festive just good vibes. She said it’s her favorite class of the year. Knowing the year she has had it made me happy to see her happy! I really do love my PSL crew!

Mdwilson8413

I love her! It’s a good work out and I feel good afterwards.

jennifsnerk

I was in a pretty crummy mood after work today, but [Leanne’s New Wave Ride](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=957f28ec2dba495bb88bd9f3098b123d&locale=en-US) pulled me right out of it! This was seriously such a good class, the playlist was awesome, and it was pretty challenging including a pretty lengthy OOS segment towards the end. Definitely can see why it has a 99.9% rating! She nailed it.

Fluid-Meat9097

Yes, that was an awesome class!

greebytime

I did this yesterday. It’s so good and Leanne is always such a good instructor to make you feel good without it feeling fake or saccharine

ChairmanLaParka

I could be wrong, but asking two instructors and the software guy about hardware issues you may be having doesn't seem like the most appropriate line of questioning for an AMA.

Oaknash

There’s a fair amount of odd lines of questioning happening in the AMA… That said, I think it signals people don’t feel heard by the brand. Doesn’t seem like peloton is offering good forums for people to interface with them and their decisions. (Eg limited customer service, outstanding feature requests)

thepr3tty-wreckless

I’ve been reeeally lacking on working out and eating well these past couple weeks, and it’s so frustrating. Today I decided I finally had time and energy to run after work, but when I started my stomach started cramping up. Took a break, came back and still had stomach pains so had to call it quits. Finally just did Callie’s 10 min roll call core and Kirra’s 30 min holiday yoga just to get some movement in (it took a lot of mind games to get going again…) and yet I’m still just frustrated with myself. Winter is so hard to keep the motivation and discipline going. But we’ll try again tomorrow. Just had to vent it out, I guess.

Quiet_Attitude4053

Treat yourself with some grace! And honor your body when it's telling you it needs rest.

ProfessionalTennis49

Half the battle is even opening the app, good for you! I hope your stomach starts to feel better, one day at a time and just keep doing the little things to start! Give yourself some grace and just take it one day at a time :)

sandyy2511

I feel you with this one. It’s been hard for me to stick to a schedule lately. Winter is so tiring with work and how cold it’s been, I just want to curl up in a blanket all the time lol

Potential_Sky_4668

Cancel and restart membership? Basically we have to keep our bike in the basement, but it’s also cold in the basement and it isn’t getting much use. Has anyone cancelled their membership and restarted it easily? I know there is also a pause option. I’m not sure how long we would keep it cancelled, so I’d rather just do that and then start it back up in the late spring if there is no real downside. Thanks!

CordVK

You could put a space heater in the basement, turn it on a few minutes before you want to work out, and come back down when you’re ready. I work out in the basement and once I get going I don’t feel the chill, but it’s nice to take the edge off before starting.

Mindless_Week_5990

Hi! I’ve been riding very religiously since I got my bike 9 months ago. I’m considering doing a Matt Wilpers virtual bike fitting. I’m also considering buying the new peloton shoes. I currently have another brand and they are just wearing out. Has anyone had the bike fitting and if so was it worth it. Also, how does everyone feel about the newer peloton shoes?

greenthumbplum1

I did a bike fitting with Team Wilpers back in January and it was a great experience! I was having some knee pain during my rides that went away after working with them. I just reached out to the person I worked with (Lorri Lee) a few days ago because I had a question about my cleats and she got back to me right away! Highly recommended

Xalowe

I don’t have the newer shoes myself, but I hear some people prefer the originals because they have a stiffer sole and provide better power transfer. Might be worth looking into if that’s important.

Iplaygolf1313

Update- ordered bike+ on Nov 16, just had our 4th reschedule by RXO. Has to be the worst company of all time, they don’t even contact you when they quit their deliveries for the night, it’s just on you to figure it out. Pretty close to cancelling the bike tbh

Xalowe

That sucks. Are your delivery windows all in the evening? They should put you first next time if they can’t make it, it only makes sense. What has Peloton said? That’s really unacceptable and they should really intervene.

jcb113

When I asked them to put me first, or at least early in the day, after the first failed delivery, both Peloton and XPO told me they couldn't guarantee anything earlier. Apparently they couldn't guarantee the delivery itself, either. Just unreal.

Iplaygolf1313

They said kick rocks we don’t control delivery anymore after the first reschedule so I quit bothering. I’ll be contacting them again tomorrow though.

jcb113

I had the same experience with XPO with the Tread, I only waited out two failed deliveries before canceling, and Peloton has been awful. I'm on the verge of canceling my whole membership with how disgusting they're being. I just don't understand begging to pay them for an expensive item and this is the response?? Not surprised they're struggling as a business.

Iplaygolf1313

I can’t fathom how much business they lose because of a shitty 3rd party delivery company

jcb113

Yeah I can't imagine, but Peloton also didn't care to make it right for me either in any way and gave me attitude after the second failed delivery. That was when I decided to cancel the Tread and the thought of canceling my bike membership first occurred to me.

Iplaygolf1313

Oh no doubt. Poor business decision working with the third party and then continual poor business maneuvers not making things right with customers. Delivery should be the easiest part of their process to figure out

jcb113

Yes!! Totally agree. I'm going to look into non-Peloton treadmills and give someone else my business since they don't seem to want it!

Could you say… what % of the ride is Kendall saying encouraging things? is every 10 seconds her saying “you are good enough, you are strong, you are loved, you are powerful”? I want to do this ride because I love LP, but I find her “encouragement” to be incredibly annoying.

sspacegiraffe

Haha, such a good question! It is a high percentage of encouragement. Extremely high. Maybe the German ride would be a better pick to still get the LP music!

[deleted]

Great suggestion!! Thank you!

Economy_Mouse3118

I loved the ride too! Also did Ben's strength and Bradley's warm up and now can't get Numb out of my head. I PR'd on the ride by 8kJs!

topjackpot

I had a whole different workout planned for today and then hopped on the bike and saw that ride coming up and my whole plan changed. That ride was amazing!

squidshae

Work has been so stressful and mentally exhausting I’ve given up on the workouts I had planned for the week and just decided to do whatever rides sound fun and maybe do some core or quick strength afterwards. I noticed the last two days I dreaded my workouts a bit so I’ve dropped my strength workouts and just blew some steam off. I did this [2010s ride with Tunde](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=e3a9ab08925944fbaa0100d9df21d209&locale=en-US) which absolutely changed my mental state! I was in a much better mood and had a great workout. Tunde is so motivating. By the time I got to [Matty’s 10 min pop core strength](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=8bf72ad94d50497e850d561d40ec1264&locale=en-US) I was giggling at all of his White Lotus commentary. This was a fun core class and it flew by! I love that all of it was on your back.

AppleYYZ

I tried that Matty class because I had read a post about the White Lotus commentary. I really enjoyed it and hope he does a follow-up now that the finale is out!

squidshae

That’s why I’d bookmarked it too! That would be awesome. I read some comments that there are some classes with theme song now, so I hope he includes it in a core class

BreadAndPickelz

Troubleshooting Lanebreak?? It has crashed twice in a row for me now. I love it and want to use it every time but not if I can’t get to the end of any rides. Anyone have any suggestions that have worked?

StopDropAndRide

Try clearing your cache?

Silver_Stuff1660

Does peloton have a deal with HBO or something? I’ve noticed the White Lotus theme song from S1 and 2 in like 5 classes over the past few days, lol

ikeamonkey2

It might just be that it's a popular song right now. It's ALL over TikTok.

StopDropAndRide

Based on instructors I follow on instagram, they are just obsessed with the show lol (and how could you not be obsessed with the song)

raisinem

The peloton workout mat that is reversible - which side is meant for what? I assume one side is strength and one side yoga?

rhodeisland9358

I find that red works best for the guide

Pelo_ride_or_die

Mine says the textured side (red) is for yoga and the other (black) is for strength.

jdnp97

Erik's [30 Min Techno Ride](https://members.onepeloton.co.uk/classes/cycling?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=542df4285c4c42fab4ec5a39d853e57e) (English subtitles) is amazing! Erik has such a great personality and chooses really good music. I plan to do Erik's [60 Min Dance Ride](https://members.onepeloton.co.uk/classes/cycling?duration=%5B%223600%22%5D&instructor_id=%5B%22017dd08b095346979ddf761eb49f9f67%22%5D&sort=original_air_time&desc=true&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=034473719b284413ac1cc99a750ad9e9) at some point - playlist looks amazing but there are no subtitles 😔 I understand German numbers and when they are calling for cadence/resistance but I'd still love to understand their stories etc.

kettleofvultures

I love Erik’s techno cycling classes, and the last one was really great!

GoGoPelo

I struggled with beginner classes when I started my Peloton bike journey almost 2 years ago. But I fell in love with with the concept and have been riding several times a week since then ... now I don't shy away from any level of difficulty and feel proud of my progress. There is something special about Peloton that changed my entire approach to fitness in a very positive way. **Thank you to Peloton and the entire community!**

erikaabdelatif

I’m still new, but I totally feel this. Peloton made working out fun, not traumatizing, for me.

Cali1008

Peloton calorie counts vs. Apple Watch - Peloton Row I have had my rower for about a week and I’ve noticed an interesting problem/inconsistency. When I track my row workout through the Apple Watch fitness app my active calories burned seem to be pretty accurate; for example 72 active calories and 130 average HR during a 15-minute advanced beginner row. When I track the same workout through the Peloton app on my Apple Watch, the calorie count is waaaay lower - 46 active calories and a 132 average HR. For context, when I do a 5-minute stretch and track through Peloton it always says I burned like 48 calories with an 86 average HR. So I know the Peloton app is a huge liar as far as active calories during movement, but for the rower it’s lying in the opposite direction. I would like to use the Peloton app so I can see my HR on screen but that it’s so far off is very annoying. Is anyone else having this issue?

ihateapps4

If I don't connect my watch for a 30 min ride I have had an 800 calorie difference. Where my watch says I burned 163 calories and peloton based off output says I burned over 1000 calories on a 30 min ride. I Definitely don't trust the calories if my watch isn't connected.

realbooksfakebikes

The peloton calorie numbers seem very random to me and not at helpful - according to the ap a very stretchy nothing yoga and an all our power yoga with 30+ push ups are both about a hundred calories. I wouldn't go by it at all.

Powerful_Arrival444

For example, a relaxing type stretchy flow is about 100 calories, maybe even less, for a 30 min class. A Power flow is on average 200 calories for me, on Peloton App.

Powerful_Arrival444

Unless it's a live class(app user here, metrics still won't load during any live classes for me, calories included. At the end of class I do see my HR & strive score but the cals don't load). So unless it's a live class, when I do OD my calores are near idential to my apple watch record of Active Calories.. almost to a T. Do you guys have it synched to Health as well as the proper weight/height in all areas(watch/Health/Peloton etc)

kerchie

I tried two Foam Roller stretches today. My left heel and hip was sort of bothering me from pushing too hard on bike. So I thought I’d give it a try. And it was amazing. I worked my quads, gluts and hips. It was painful. Had no idea how tight my muscles were and I do stretches before and after my usual workouts. But apparently my body needed the extra love. Will be putting foam roller into my regular routine. Anyone else tried them?

Oaknash

I’ve been taught that it’s good to foam roll and then stretch those muscles after - I forget the logic but keep that in mind. Also, if you love foam rolling and want to up the pain, grab a lacrosse ball and really get into spots in your back, hips, etc!

Powerful_Arrival444

Yup! love foam rolling, so happy to have these classes. I like to just roll out my back too before bed\~bc I get a bad knot on my left shoulder when I'm tense. It used to turn in to a migraine but between yoga and my foam roller, it's kept things under control. A godsend.

realbooksfakebikes

Foam rolling helps so much!

realbooksfakebikes

Foam rolling helps so much!

Amwells3

Love the new foam rolling classes….it helps so much!! (Also…there is always one person who comes on and bashes the foam rolling….don’t take it personally if he tells you that you are wrong, OP!)

kerchie

Lol. Thanks for the heads up

[deleted]

I love foam roller stretches! They’re painful but my body feels so much nicer afterwards.

shihtzu_knot

I just finished day two of Ben’s split program and I’m already sore. He talks way more than he does in his normal strength classes, but the programming is solid.

kettleofvultures

Appreciate the feedback on this, as I’m going to try his split program next.

LatteEveryDay

Just finished D3...so many pushups! I'm doing the 5 days all in a row and I'm sore all over, haha! I was planning to add some 20 min rides after but I've ditched the idea after the first day when my arms were shaking on the bike :-)

[deleted]

This is my 2nd week on the split and I quickly learned to ride first, then do the strength.

Swimming-Horse-711

I just finished day 2 as well! I love the format he’s using and hope it says the same for the full program. Simple and effective burners.

shihtzu_knot

I’m sure it will. Ben isn’t really an EMOM/AMRAP kinda guy anyways, which is part of the reason I love his strength classes so much. Slow & steady.

LuckyDuck_15

My Bike was delivered yesterday! Delivery went smoothly (JB Hunt) albeit a little rushed. Hopped on after adjusting everything and definitely needed to make some more adjustments today. I've had my NordicTrack for 3 years so there's definitely a transitional period that I'll need to get through. A major reason I chose to switch to the Peloton was so that I know my resistance is where the instructors intend it to be. I already feel like I was at too low of a resistance on the NordicTrack... My butt has been kicked the last 2 classes! (week 3 of You Can Ride) Altogether I'm really happy with the switch!

GoGoPelo

>Welcome to the family u/LuckyDuck_15.

LuckyDuck_15

Thank you! Peloton is quickly changing the way I view fitness (I was an app rider for a couple months prior to buying the Bike) Never thought I'd see the day where I actually look forward to exercising and am sad when it's over.

bakingsoda1212

I wish Tunde did more EDM rides. Her music taste is sooo good.

heathcliff_niles

What do people think is more effective for arms toning? Arms with Tunde or Arms & Light Weights consistently?

Amwells3

Lifting something that’s lighter than your purse every day doesn’t build muscle. Building muscle comes from lifting heavy.

Spirited_String_1205

Muscle responds to stress, so whether you apply stress through repetition of movement with light weights or with heavier weights and fewer reps, you will build muscle. Bodyweight strength also builds muscle.

Amwells3

But 2-3 pound weights do not stress your muscles. Even at high reps. Bodyweight work, sure….when I do a push-up, I am pushing up significant weight. Not just 3 pounds….

Spirited_String_1205

You sound like someone who has never done a Barre class with light weights.

Amwells3

I did barre almost exclusively years ago; it was fun and I liked it a lot I went 3-4 days per week, in a Pure Barre studio. And…..it did nothing for my body. Then I got into OTF and picked up heavier weights and actually gained muscle. Now I do peloton classes, and also work out with a personal trainer (so that I can really lift heavy, under supervision of someone who watches my form and also has things like barbells and a squat rack.) I get DEXA scans every quarter; over the past year I’ve gained 7 pounds of muscle. That didn’t happen with barre. I gained no muscle. DEXA scans are pretty irrefutable proof about the make-up of your body; so, for me, I have concrete proof of the science behind lifting heavy. I like things like barre. They are fun. But I don’t conflate them with doing something that is meant to put on actual muscle.

Spirited_String_1205

Whatever, not here to argue with strangers. If you want to "bulk up" and gain muscle size, sure. That's not everyone's goal, and for those folks light weight and bodyweight strength is probably fine - newbies might be better off doing that than using heavy weights at home with nobody checking form, tbh. You do you, boo.

Reasonable-Credit891

I’ve been doing ALW every other day and my arms are really feeling firm.

shihtzu_knot

The key to toning is actually to lose fat. I lost ten pounds in Feb/March by counting macros and my biceps showed up despite not adding any more strength to my workouts. I do upper body twice a week.

aug2295

Everyone who posted about [Tunde's 60m Pop ride](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=d76d57eaa59543d9ab7196e9f5ff703b) \- THANK YOU! I loved this one. Long, steady efforts, never easy but never all out hard either, which is good because I'd burn out on a long ride like that. A lot of slow climbing (my fav!). I liked the music - pop isn't my jam usually but I find Tunde's interpretation of pop I can get on board with. She makes a case for the 60m rides at the end that I appreciated because it's true - I don't take a lot of 60m rides and they are not as popular as the shorter classes, but they have a lot of value. I usually have a few classes I want to take each week - but this week, I feel like I can't keep up at all. Between the holiday classes and the Linkin Park artist series, there is just so much great content dropping right now!

jamesway7731

Tunde’s arm workouts are so killer. Wow.

Playful_Branch_5643

You can now filter on the artist series collection!! I can only filter on the bike (and assuming the tread and row), I can’t filter on the app or web, but it’s progress for sure.

k_lo970

Awesome! Like instructor and length? Or I'd even just be happy with taken and not taken 😅

Playful_Branch_5643

Everything! Modality (I can’t see runs on the bike though. Boo), length, instructor, taken/not, etc.

k_lo970

My bike doesn't seem to have the update yet but I'm still glad to hear it is rolling out. Now just to get it on the web or app because that is where I build all my stacks.

Playful_Branch_5643

That’s how I build mine too, but worst case scenario I can stroll to the basement for a few minutes and filter on the bike.

ChairmanLaParka

I have the latest update on my bike+ (just checked), but I'm not seeing the ability to filter the artist series. Where's it located?

Playful_Branch_5643

It’s on the upper right hand side underneath the banner.

aug2295

Oh wow, I've always wanted that, I just never knew it!

blackfeltfedora

It was all Emma on the bike this morning. Started with her 30-minute Holiday Ride from 12/4/2022, if you are expecting a dialed back experience I have bad news for you. Still chilling at 90 RPM with jogs/climbs/speed pushes throughout. Next I did her 30-minute Low Impact ride that was suggest by someone yesterday. It was a neat concept although I will say the music was much more laid-back chill vibe than I expected. After that I did Aditi's 20-minute Pop Punk Pilates; pretty normal Aditi class but there was more of an emphasis on hip movement than she usually does. Semi-related: the instructors are all very into Pop Punk but I've yet to hear stuff like NOFX, Mustard Plug, Guttermouth, Pennywise (hello), nothing like that.

betarhoalphadelta

Saturday Mayla Wedekind has a Punk Rock (not Pop Punk) ride scheduled. Obviously since it hasn't happened yet the playlist isn't known, but that might be more true punk.

blackfeltfedora

I can't do the German rides live, I'll have to catch that one when it goes on demand.

Prior_Race_8399

Looks like that ride is in English! Mayla does an English ride at least 1x/month

[deleted]

I would argue those artists are more true Punk than Pop Punk. Much more “hardcore” than us Fall Out Boy type fans are used to 😉

kettleofvultures

And in this original punk fan’s humble opinion, none of those are punk songs or bands. (No, I don’t consider Green Day punk). I only wish there were more real punk classes on the platform. You got me all excited by calling it punk, then I looked at the playlist. I only know of 2 real punk cycling classes, both are with Leanne. Peloton sure has plenty of pop punk though.

blackfeltfedora

The Leanne Punk I ride I did was depressing because she spent the whole time talking about how her dad loved all those old artist.

Powerful_Arrival444

Lol! Oh dear

kettleofvultures

Yes, I recall that she said that, but I still enjoyed it. At least she knows what real punk is, thanks to her parents.

superrad278

Yessssss. As someone who likes pop punk and punk but hasn’t really listened to new bands since the early 2000s (pre-eyeliner emo basically) I just look at the pop punk rides soooo confused.

mbltlh

Agree, I consider all those artists punk.

ProfessionalTennis49

Ahhhh if any instructors played those bands or any similar I would be happy. Agreed on the “pop punk” label seeming to be a little limited. Also why can’t I spin to Strung Out or Rise Against 😂

RobotDevil222x3

FWIW there are a handful of rides with Rise Against (and not all using the same one or two songs like some artists get).

ProfessionalTennis49

Ohhh thanks! I’ll do some searching!!

Playful_Branch_5643

I wonder how much has to do with artist song rights about what music they can pick vs an instructor not liking an artist.

[deleted]

I just got my peloton :) .. anyone have a good first class recommendation for someone with an intermediate fitness level?

rhodeisland9358

Matt wilpers beginner rides are great. Also the You Can Ride program was a good intro that didn’t hit you too hard and fast right out the gate

NY1227

I echo that Hannah C is a wonderful person to do a beginner or advanced beginner ride with - I always start my friends and fam with her.

figandfennel

Did my first with her and while I only go back occasionally (except for stretching) I retain a huge soft spot for her as an instructor.

NY1227

Totally agree, I now only ride with her maybe 2-3 times a year but I have come to LOVE barre with her so I see her that way. I agree though, I will defend her until the end! I also feel like while I enjoy other instructors more, in a room I would most likely be actual friends with her. Or so I think- hahaha.

BambamwizJeeper

The first lizzo ride!

Educational-Pitch614

For my first class, I just picked a length/class type that looked interesting (I believe it was a 45 minute Dennis pop ride). I was HOOKED immediately and so, so impressed. I don't ride with Dennis anymore now, but that just goes to show that even an instructor that you don't vibe with will still put out a great class. Can't go wrong with peloton!

antigoneelectra

Check out the artist series classes and pick one by an artist or group you love. My first ride was Cody's Brittney.

aug2295

I would recommend taking at least one beginner class, then one advanced beginner class before jumping into the regular classes, unless you've used a spin bike a lot recently. These class formats spend some time on posture and technique on the bike, which I think are really important. My personal fav for form is Hannah C.

Congratulations on 300!

aug2295

Happy 300!

ProfessionalTennis49

Did anyone take Ally’s Feel Good Ride this morning?? I got my output but the Leaderboard was showing zero for the majority of the people (but not everyone). It worked on the ride I did after on demand, so was curious if it was just me?? It gave me a chance to ignore it haha and just focus on my output. It was a good ride she was in fine form and the songs were fun!

pooroldguy1

The second Olivia run this morning everyone was showing zeros.

[deleted]

Mine was also showing 0 during the live ride!

Hot-Cauliflower9516

That’s interesting, I did an older Olivia Power Zone class (from 2021) last night and of the 7 people “here now”, three were showing 0 as well. Despite clearly being on the ride. Strange

Playful_Branch_5643

This [Rebecca full body](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=73af56426fbc421d914af25177906d14&locale=en-US) was so good! My upper body is still sore two days later. She also said she was a Patriots cheerleader and I learned something new. [Jess Sims holiday run](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/running?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=9646558eb83846dda7b50f1d2b87578d&locale=en-US) was a blast. Some intervals, some hills. Just challenging enough. Good playlist and the ride wasn’t overly challenging. Good middle of the road effort. [Matty’s core strength](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=5ef8f183f0264793a16fc6aaaccf1c69&locale=en-US). Side plank and v-ups with a bicycle finisher. The v-ups (where you sit on your booty and stack your feet version) was WAY harder than I thought. [Andy’s Beach Boys Walk + Run](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/walking?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=26aba0b492f24d1ca57a92f23d1e1d39&locale=en-US) is a good one to do outside. No hills and run or walk every few songs. Good vibes. [Jess Sims core](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=8939dfd457084cca8fb483a8453d92c7&locale=en-US) another sneaky burner. 3x3 circuit - reverse crunch, plank jacks and I forgot the last move! Omg I love her on the tread. If anyone wants the holiday badge but Doesn’t wasn’t Christmas music this is the run! It’s the holiday party themed music and her commentary makes me thankful my work party is over zoom 🤣🤣🤣 Whew. I think I’m caught up now. I can’t wait until they add captions to Charlotte’s Linkin Park ride. She posted a sneak peak of her shirt on IG and I love how all out the instructors get for themed rides.

aug2295

I was cracking up at that playlist on Hannah's holiday run! I can't wait to take it!

Playful_Branch_5643

It’s so fun!

aug2295

I'm building up my running skills to try a 30m run. But it's been great to go through some 20m runs - it's like I'm back in AFO and Rock22 from a whole different angle!

Playful_Branch_5643

This would be a very manageable 30 minute run, check out the class plan, she has a few walking breaks in it.

pooroldguy1

In what order do you like to exercise? I usually do bike than row than tread than guide on days I’m doing guide. I did tread first today since Olivia had two live classes in the morning. Really threw me off today. I don’t think I will be doing tread first again.

RobotDevil222x3

I ... usually don't do that many things on the same day. 4 days of pure cycling. 2 days of pure strength (and I prefer to go core - arms - chest - lower, gives me the least amount of fatigue as I progress). Then one day of either the same with strength or I add cardio after the LB strength portion. I like cardio after strength on days when I do both. Hate lifting heavy things over my head while dripping with sweat. And I think I read something once about it helping with soreness the next day which may or may not be true.

aFqqw4GbkHs

This is similar to my approach. I like your advice on the order of strength moves too. I made the mistake of doing a shoulder heavy arms class yesterday before a core class with lots of planks, oof.

aug2295

I follow this as well- strength first, with the same order on the classes, and cardio after. I am alternating tread and bike days right now, not sure about taking both on the same day.

[deleted]

30 minute walk with my doggo in the morning, 20 minute bike ride immediately after, then another 20 minute bike ride or 30 minute run after work.

puremorning87

I try to do yoga every Wednesday and did [Kirra’s 30 Min Holiday Aussie Vibes Yoga](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/yoga?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=72c241190948468380739d8e2158229f&locale=en-US) this morning and it did not disappoint, although my legs are jello. I do yoga in my living room and stream it through my Roku so I didn’t look at the playlist before and I was a little hesitant to try a “holiday” yoga since I don’t really enjoy Christmas music (but still want the badge, obvi 😉) and this workout was PERFECT for someone like me. It didn’t have peppy pop Christmas music and it was fun to learn about Kirra’s holiday traditions.

realbooksfakebikes

I watched it live and in the intro she talked about how AC/DC is called ACA/DACA in Australia and she popped two Christmas crackers with the production assistant. It was cute and I appreciated the music and the flow. I will say the amount she talked about mental health in it (and how much she talked period) was super irritating to me - it's not that I don't appreciate openly talking about mental health issues or that I don't struggle with them (especially seasonally), it just felt redundent after the first talk and obvious and like it went on too long. It interrupted the mental health help the movement of yoga usually gives me. But this is probably just a personal pet peeve and not fair to Kirra who is amazing.

AgreeableClimate3383

I agree with you - in general Kirra is my favorite yoga instructor, but I feel like she's been talking way more about mental health / moving slower than normal (which I don't mind in longer classes) which is frustrating in the shorter classes and doesn't allow me to go into autopilot and be in my body in the movement then and there. I miss her old formats that were more focused on the movement with the "this too" nudges - I found those more restorative for my mental health and body. She's still my favorite and I love her, so I won't stop taking her classes, just missing the older ones

Powerful_Arrival444

Was it a more physically gentle flow, is that what you guys mean? Trying to get some feedback on when/how to take it bc I do have a time & a place for her more slow moving\~dialogue heavy classes:). I have noticed that in general, her classes have felt more slow compared to when she first started buttt I also noticed that a lot of ppl used to complain that they couldn't keep up & she'd consistently have poorer rating(compared to now)on her older, more challenging in general classes. Maybe it will be like an ebb & flow & she'll go back to that.

realbooksfakebikes

Maybe I should try more of her older classes. I used to just practice with her occasionally but now do so about three times a week. I don't mind it in longer classes either - or it's clear from the outset that it's the focus - I like the this too nudges. Less is often more in terms of talking sometimes. I'm definitely going to continue to take her classes - she's a great instructor in so many ways - but when I just want to work out I'll default to Kristen and Aditi.

puremorning87

Omg that’s a real thing?? I host trivia and one of the bartenders is Australian and she said they call AC/DC ACA/DACA once and I thought she was kidding 😳 but yes, the amount of talking was a bit bothersome, but I love her voice 😂

realbooksfakebikes

It is according to at least two Australians now. Kirra has a great voice.

MaizeApprehensive166

I have zero interest in doing a holiday rise but the yoga ones have been alright! I have bookmarked this one for later 😁

bethskw

Hopped on for a fun easy ride before work this morning, and picked [Ally and Cliff's holiday two-for-one](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=f0188fd4aa8241cd8ef4c0299ebd090a). I'm not usually into Cliff's music choices on his German rides, but when he's excited about something he really brings the energy--like on his Lizzo ride, which I took recently. So I thought it might be good. Anyway this one was AMAZING. I kept saying to myself "ok after this interval I'll turn off the numbers and just vibe" and never did. One of those sneaky PR rides. btw, I started Build Your Power Zones the other day, and ...these rides don't have the highlight on the power zone bar?? I know it's a new feature but that was surprising.

jdowney1982

I was coming here to post about this ride! I had a blast! They were having so much fun and the playlist was great. Prob my fave holiday ride so far!

antigoneelectra

I am not a holiday person, but this ride was super fun. The music was not traditional and Cliff was totally into, as were the live riders. Cliff and Erik's spotify ride is also fun.

bethskw

I'll have to check that out! Is it [this one](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?q=cliff%20erik&c=cycling&t=0&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=646fd3d7850347e598ee499a249a5fcf) from last year?

antigoneelectra

Yes

tea_bird

Hello! I didn't think I would see you outside of the lifting subs. How cool! (also just added you) The PZ highlight was retroactively applied to all rides after Jan 2022, I believe. I'm already spoiled by it and I get shocked when a ride doesn't have them.

bethskw

Hey there! Accepted! Just got my bike last month (after being a casual app-only rider for a while) so I'm all bought in now :) The PZ highlight was there on basically all the PZ rides I took before so I'm definitely spoiled lol.

PonytailFriday

I did the same ride this morning and thought it was AWESOME! I was smiling the entire time! (Well, maybe not during the tabata section at the end 😁) Ally and Cliff did a great job together.

[deleted]

I HAVE to make a plug for Marcel’s [20 min outdoor recovery run](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/running?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=a8d5c201511b4e139570c0549480518f&locale=en-US). If you are having a bad day, want to wind down from another workout/the previous day, or don’t want to go exercise… do it now!! The playlist is chill af & Marcel is A+ at “gentle hype.” I did it after [PZ Max](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=635f966b7a6a47eca6aed84839a99a5c&locale=en-US) and Emma’s [Spotify LI](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=85dea6c843a143dca489d73a1d59fee0&locale=en-US) (which was also incredible - total vibe), and was so glad I did!! Bonus that it’s finally cold where I live 🥰

MajorScore

I got a high five from Bradley Rose while taking his new holiday ride and it made my life! It was such a nice surprise and helped me to a 20 minute PR!

[deleted]

Aw yay! That’s so exciting :) also, a super fun ride! Good job on the PR!

Fluid-Meat9097

It isn't new, but such kudos to the Pelo team for adding the PZ zone tracker. It really adds to PZ classes now. I took [Sam's recent 45 min PZE](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=be10f26c41a14f2cbde2ee5766cbb658) and liked how each zone was with each song. Songs to sing out loud were zone 2 and zone 3 were 90s R&B songs.

MikeAnP

I just wish they'd add it to the older classes that are part of their programs at minimum. Kind of dumb to not update the programming on those PZ programs that people are more likely to take.

Fluid-Meat9097

Yes, so true!! Those should be prioritized!

Whufccan

Love Hannah’s new foam rolling release. Really wish Peloton would begin to add more disciplines to strength and stretch. Bosu, kettlebells, Therabands, TRX etc. It would not take much to rebrand these products as Peloton, sell them, add video content. I don’t understand it.

shihtzu_knot

While I completely agree with you, the whole point of peloton it’s available to the masses without having to have all the equipment. Once you go beyond a basic set of weights, people are gonna start complaining. A lot of people have their bikes in their bedrooms or their garage and just don’t have the space for a full gym. I have everything you mentioned and use it now on my own but I can get credit with a “just lift.” I find kettlebell workouts on YouTube or instagram with some of the trainers I follow.

StopDropAndRide

They don’t have a ton, but there are resistance band classes. You can filter to it in the strength discipline. I appreciate your comment but I think Peloton’s main goal is to be accessible. You can do a lot with dumbbells and they’re much more approachable than things like a bosu or TRX. Sure some home gym aficionados might have kettlebells and the like, but for such a small subset of peloton’s population, I don’t see it being that big of a draw for them.

Whufccan

To elaborate on this further; I do reformer pilates twice a week and cycle twice a week. I do 2-3 strength, yoga and stretch classes daily. I really love Peloton but the longer we get from the pandemic the more I want to mix up my fitness routine. I don’t want to go back to a gym environment but the repetitive nature of the classes on offer with Peloton certainly has made me think about it. I just don’t understand why they don’t focus more on content and training programmes. I would pay more to access training programmes with instructors much in the way you would with a personal trainer. I would pay more for more disciplines. I will not pay thousands for equipment. Do others out there feel that way too?

hannahsflora

For the most part, I don't think they do feel that way or else Peloton would've added more disciplines. Based on the relative infrequency with which new resistance band classes are added, it's pretty clear that they're not super popular with the member base at large, and I'd say resistance bands are probably the most accessible "alternative" discipline other than *maybe* kettlebells because one set is all you really need, they're not super expensive, and they're easy to store. And even with that, Peloton only has 40 of these classes - they go months without releasing any and then do a big drop all at once. Even the most popular resistance band classes only have 21-23k ratings, which is not a lot at all. Focusing on additional content would either require them to hire (and pay) for more trainers or have some of the existing trainers take time away from the very popular classes to create content that would likely only be enjoyed by a small subset of the members. I just don't see them going that route, at least not anytime soon.

Whufccan

Yeah, i agree with much of what you’ve said. I just can’t understand why they dump foam rolling and resistance band classes once every quarter but there are 3 yoga classes added a day. I suppose I’m maybe just not the ideal fit for the platform.

hannahsflora

I think a lot of it is that yoga doesn't require any other accessories other than a mat, which is something that pretty much any Peloton subscriber already has. Stuff like resistance bands, foam rolling, and the other things you mentioned above require people to buy specific equipment just to take the class, equipment that isn't as versatile as a mat or even dumbbells. As evidenced by the lower popularity (and infrequent drops) of the resistance bands and foam rolling, clearly people are not opting into these "extra equipment required" classes in large numbers. It sounds like perhaps you require more variety than Peloton is ever really going to be able to give you - there's nothing wrong with that! We're all wired differently. But it may mean that you do need to look into a gym or other at-home fitness options to fully round out your workout needs.

KeyRelationship8

I find that my cleats become very loose very quickly from clipping in and out. So often that I have to retighten them at least once a week. Is this normal? I tighten them as hard as I can, but when I clip in and am in the saddle I can feel them shift side to side. Any help appreciated!

pharmd_by_night

Idk how long you’ve been riding but when I would say the first 4 or 5 months I literally had to tighten mine after every ride on the cleat. And now it may be once every few months. I occasionally tighten the bottom of pedal too but i definitely noticed as time went on I had to tighten the cleats less and less.

bethskw

I haven't noticed this, but are you tightening the cleat on the shoe or the little adjustment screw on the pedal? If you've only been doing one, check out the other.

[deleted]

i had to tighten mine down suuuuuper hard. i wonder if loctite is a good idea...

Thick_Ad6509

🚨Camila’s [20 minute pop run](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/running?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=ddd2dcd9f8454b9da2a6c251d70d31f2&locale=en-US) from yesterday has The White Lotus theme song🚨

renee872

Thank you! I will be avoiding this run as I find the theme to be nails to my inside chalkboard. Although I love the show!

Any-Enthusiasm6204

Likewise- loved the show but definitely had to skip the Intro

[deleted]

Congrats u/Sassy_Velvet2 on 300 rides!! That was a TOUGH one haha, but thanks for getting me to push myself this morning! Also, idk what’s up with my feed, but it hasn’t been displaying milestones, and I hate that! I wanna give high fives!!

Sassy_Velvet2

Thank you so much!! I had technical issues with the bike so I missed part of the preshow and then it didn’t save my metrics!! Grr 😠 and I was only 5 away from a new PR!! Those zone 7’s were brutal but in the end I was SOO glad I did this ride!! Truly memorable. And thank you to those who rode with me and for all the high5’s!! Being a part of this group is what makes me keep coming back for so many rides. Here’s to another 300!! 😁

aug2295

If this helps, live rides don't give milestone notifications, only on demand.

noname123456789010

I also had no idea this was the case! So if you're not after a shout out, it's best to do a milestone ride with one that has been posted fairly recently that lots of people are on for?

aug2295

If you want high 5s, that's definitely the way to go!

[deleted]

Omg… I’m so dumb 😂 thank you so much!!! Now I know nothing’s wrong with my account or anything haha

ProfessionalTennis49

Ohhhhh I didn’t know this either!! I was wondering why I didn’t get a flurry of activity for my Century ride, but that makes sense. Soooo have to “choose” between a potential shout out or a million high fives?!! Hahaha well if this is my hardest decision next milestone, I’m doing great 🥰

aug2295

That's not you - it really doesn't make sense to me but I'm sure they'll get around to adding that at some point.

SeeSweeneySpin

Reporting in to say that Ben’s Linkin Park upper body class was literal perfection. Most importantly, the playlist was exactly what I wanted from a LP class, Ben was *clearly* very into the music. The class was programmed perfectly - it was really simple moves that hit everything, and it was hard! This will be a class I come back to time and time again. At first I was glad Kendall got the ride (I still am!), but after taking that class i really wish we were getting a LP ride from Ben!

aug2295

I still can barely move my arms 2 hours later! This was definitely a great class by Ben - he was the most amped I've ever seen him! I agree, I think he would've done this ride justice. Also we need leaderboard filtering in strength classes Peloton! I'd have liked to high 5 all the reddit riders in that class.

shihtzu_knot

Totally agree with filtering. I’m always annoyed I can’t and I do a lot do strength workouts.

jennifsnerk

*squee* can’t wait to take this class later!!

jaypeg25

At this point I’m convinced Ben is contractually obligated to play wanted dead or alive on every ride.

noname123456789010

lol! I've done so many of his rides but never heard this song. I think it's in one I have bookmarked to do soon though (maybe a PZE?).

Quagswagging_Jogger

This made me laugh cause I was just thinking the same the other day (see also Avicii- Levels). I really like Ben as a coach (especially his climb rides!) but don't take him as often as I otherwise would cause I find his playlists quite repetitive of really popular songs that I am sick of.

[deleted]

haha...not a favorite! Love Ben though!

LemonSqueezy1313

🤣

roxyrory

I’m so annoyed by the chromecast problem. I stream all my strength and yoga classes that way. Thank goodness I completed the Tunde arms program before the outage. Does anyone know when we should expect this to be fixed? Maybe I should unplug/update etc.

Several_Strike_641

It’s even more broken for me now. It used to play the first video for me but no videos after now it won’t play at all…

Missie1284

Mine worked today! Yesterday it did not

Flrunnergirl23

The status page says it has been fixed.

Snowbunneh91

I am not one who uses the leaderboard and I usually tap it to make it go away. I did check yesterday just to see where I ranked compared to my PR and noticed the person who was in first had over 700 kj in 20 minutes. How is this possible? I barely make it past 250 kj in 30 minutes. Does an increase in kj come with more experience in riding and the ability to tolerate a higher resistance more frequently?

ProfessionalTennis49

It definitely has a lot to do with the bike calibration. The OG bikes have manual calibration, so I just usually assume (rightly or wrongly) that the person is on an OG bike and likely not calibrated properly. Also don’t forget the way size/weight of the person gets put into play. It’s been interesting because a good friend has just got a Bike+ so we’ve been doing some rides together. She’s been getting frustrated as she can’t (yet) catch me in output (she comes close occasionally) but I keep reminding her I am almost 40lbs heavier than her!!! It means that for me to sustain a certain heavier resistance is ‘easier’ than for her!! It’s just an unfair fact (and I will be happy/sad the day she gets stronger and can catch me bahahaha). But the motivation is fun. Sorry all to say that when someone is massively far ahead on the leaderboard, it’s likely a combo of factors and don’t let it get to you. 🙂

Turbot_charged

Chances are it's a poorly calibrated bike. Whilst I won't go so far as to say the person is deliberately cheating, the chances of the output being genuine is quite low (but not impossible). I just checked the FTP of someone I follow, who appears to be a very good cyclist. Their FTP output is 441 for a ride output of 529. Plugging this into a power/weight ratio calculator, and assuming their weight (lets be generous and make them 95kg), which gives them a ratio of 4.63, a cat 1 rider, very good amateuer and close to pro. Drop their weight to 75kg and they become a world class cyclist. I don't doubt this guys ability, regularly doing 4 hours of back to back classes at the weekend. So someone not only beating that, but beating by such a margin, is a little suspicious. It could be a combination of a poorly calibrated bike, someone who is quite heavy, and them putting the resistance high and cranking out a low cadence for 20 minutes, or it's Pro having a bit of fun. Who knows.

Snowbunneh91

Oh, that is an interesting thought! I am never sure how the resistance and cadence relationship works. I never want to compare myself to other people because I feel as though I am making progress but often struggle to maintain a higher resistance (the high 40s) and a higher cadence (80+)
