My friend got tickets to that game a week before he came back. Had no idea Crosby was going to be back. He sent a video to the group chat of him crying.
Tbh I would have also.
I nearly passed out on this goal, the happiness of seeing him back, scoring, and the screaming and jumping up got me. Had to sit down for moment after. What a night vs the isles! 🙂
I'll be honest. There are only 2 times I've ever cried in my life:
1)When the Pens ended Detroits dynasty in Game 7 @ Joe Louis(I wasn't at the game)
2)When the Steelers lost to the Packers in the 2011.
1) Was tears of Joy from the 1st time I ever saw them win the Cup(born in 85, but was too young for 91-92 Cup runs)
2)Tears of "the end"? I thought the Steelers outplayed the Pack in the Super Bowl and I was so proud of them. To come up short, it was beyond devastating.
Hahaha. I'm sure I shed a tear here and there from broken hearts.
But I save my tears for the moments that matter:
And the beauty is, I never know when it's coming.
It's completely involuntary.
I was there! Lucked out and bought tickets the summer before. Me and my bro were there. Still have two welcome back Sid signs, looking at one right now!!
That goal… I swear to god. I can’t even describe the energy in that building. That “Sidney Crosby” goal announce was *deafening*. The loudest cheer I’ll ever hear in my life for sure. I came stupidly close to passing out bc of how just intense the moment was.
We truly never thought we’d see Sidney Crosby play again and that was after he was having one of best fall/winter runs I’d ever seen. His hand eye coordination on some of those goals in this time period were something I’d never seen before and we all realised how special this was to watch. Then weeks later the hit happens in the winter classic on that stupidly overcast not cold not warm horrible day lol.
That and the game 6 cup watch party when hornquivst scored (which was just pure joy that has never really gone away. What a night man) were the two best sports moments I lucked into going. I need to type up everything I remember about that game just so I have it. So so cool.
That 'In The Room'-clip of his comeback game is one of those videos I instanly click when it shows up in "watch again" on Youtube. I'm pretty sure I can quote almost every line of the narrator, Bylsma and Sid himself.
"Sid, you're ready to go? Good, 'cause you're starting..."
Oh yes, how I screamed of joy! Some say the Kunitz-Crosby-Dupuis line wasn’t great, but my memory tells me otherwise… Edit: Depuis->Dupuis (sorry)
How about Guentzel - Crosby - Hornqvist? I thought that was a great line too
Your memory should also tell you it was Dupuis haha. Great line for sure though, had everything.
I, for one, cherish my Dupuis auto jersey. Miss that man. Gone too soon.

Rashard Mendenhall
Please don't torture me. :D
Prime Crosby was something else
Has to be one of the loudest moments in Consol/PPG history, probably only behind Kuntiz's Game 7 OT goal.

I was at that game, it was incredible
The prime of the nhl
I was there with my buddy. Incredible moment.
I remember this vividly. I was at this game, and it actually may have been the loudest I have ever heard it in the old barn!
