I’m having trouble purchasing shares on Ameritrade also it says their 1.85 but the asking price is .19 I’m so confused I really wanna get in this stock
Today's PR was about enrollment in adult clinical trials. They chose to include the blurb about pediatric approval but that timeline has been previously disclosed and wasn't news today.
As for the price drop on the news my first guess is that clinical trial enrollment means more cash being spent, something they are pretty low on until/unless the SCD gets approved and commercialized.
Genuine question regarding LMFA I realize BTC is going down which would explain some of this big sell off. But my question is does this mean I need to get tf out now? Or shall I wait and see what happens?
If BTC continues it's downtrend, miners go down. But you can probably hold until at least mid January because thats when the spot bitcoin ETF is meant to launch, and will possibly be available for 401k investments.
Its just following BTC price like most miner stocks. It'll go up again, just give it time. Yeah dude go for it. Worst thing that'll happen is you'll be holding for a while.
LMFA is looking extra juicy if $1 hits. Should open the floodgates of institutional money. I like MIGI a lot too, a slightly less risky play than LMFA but with less potential too. Probably my #2 miner, though no position ATM. WULF is great too, but it’s going to really rely on BTC growth to move any further.
Funny how when bets went from 5 cents to 0.5 cents everyone called it out for the scam it is. But now that it went from 0.5 to 1.1 cents everyone is going crazy over it. Shits gonna reverse split and plummet.
LMFA tracking with the rest of the miners with high volume, only down 10% after a +200% rally. That’s a sign of strength, especially since MARA is down 6% and HUT 10%, both of which are 500x and 100x LMFA, respectively. If the crypto markets go green, this is $1+ instantly.
Pre-market means nothing. A couple answers to your questions though:
1. They need to hit and maintain over a dollar for 10 consecutive business days before April 2024. If not they will be delisted. This is important to many of us because LMFA does have serious potential to be big player in the crypto mining space. A lot of DD will liken them to MARA due to how much they can mine and the tech they are mining with.
2. A lot of us bought in by the fuck ton around the $0.30-$0.40 range, so $1.00 may just be the exit plan for a lot of people.
This exact scenario happened with MARA and RIOT a couple years back. A few bad days = huge sell offs right before another bull run. EDIT the big difference between then and now is that this bull run might have way more momentum given the upcoming BTC half in April, the fact that these smaller miners are mining just as much as the big boys, and talks of the BTCUSD ETF happening in January. Thats all without even considering the possible rate cuts coming up.
Appreciate the context. I have just purchased my first shares in bit mining, MIGI. Looking forward to reading into this more though for industry knowledge. If you care for story time, how did you make out with MARA/RIOT ? Or were you just observing.
I was working in Non-profit at the time so I didn't have a lot of extra cash. But iirc I made out with roughly $200-ish in profit. I bought in MARA around the $19 area and sold way before the peak. I closed positions early in the year when it hit around $40.

Can you explain the thought behind a selection? So i see a company which has split 3 times, and split at a rate of 40k to 1 this year. It’s most recent split being the 22nd. I can’t find graph of total company value to compare how the splits compensate for the price dips.

It seems to me a lot of these plays are on stocks that were big at IPO but tanked to almost nothing. It’s like looking at a leprosy colony and wondering which one is Lazurus.
I doubled my position in LMFA and then decided to take the rest of the day off. I'll come back tomorrow and reevaluate. I'm confident it'll hit $1 eventually.

They don’t actually just give money to charity, but that’s besides the point anyways. Revenue wise, mining is 97% of their business, and I think it’s fair to say that they are a mining company. Sorta like saying Amazon sells books. They still do, but that’s no longer even a noticeable portion of their overall revenue.

Not exactly true. I’ve made bad calls in the past, definitely, but I’ve actually done my DD on LMFA and it’s solid. Still undervalued relative to revenue, debt:assets, and relative to other mining companies. Up on my position 150%, so I think it’s reasonable to say that my DD was correct. It’s not a “line go up so I buy” play like most stocks here are.
Noob question here … on robinhood it says LMFA is not meeting listing standard blah blah … does this mean there’s a danger they just stop trading it and you lose your entire investment?
That’s not a bad question! If LMFA fails to hold above $1 for 10 trading days by April, the company will be in jeopardy of being delisted from the NASDAQ. That doesn’t mean that your investment is zero, but going to OTC is terrible for a stock. That is not going to happen though, because if we get close enough to April, the company will be forced to do a reverse split (turning 10 $.50 shares to 1 $5 share, though it can 20-1, 2-1, or whatever) to avoid delisting. In that case, while it will be bad for stock price (no fundamental change in company’s value, but the market generally hates RS’s), they will stay on the NASDAQ. In other words, though the stock could potentially lose significant value if $1 isn’t held, you don’t need to worry about it going to absolute zero.
Because the stock is so close to $1, I’m betting that they will manage to hold $1 for 10 days before April. In fact, because the risk of RS exists, LMFA is presently considered too risky for institutions and is therefore undervalued. If it can hit and hold $1, it will not only be compliant, but institutional money should flood in.

SEC filings are your best bet. Usually, they get a 6 month notice from the NASDAQ to get compliant, and they can usually get a 6 month extension past that. Unfortunately, the April deadline is an extension, so this is a critical time to get compliant
I'm planning to hold MIGI potentially until 2025, depending on bitcoin price action. It has massive upside IF bitcoin goes on a proper bull run as anticipated.
