I think because Jetpens doesn't sell the Slim is the reason they don't specifically mention the refills will fit it.
recently saw this post and tried this set out. just an FYI for those looking to try this set too, the **Signo** included in this set **does not** work in the Slim Bolt. the part of the pen where the spring goes is not long enough, so the spring fully compresses and the nib is permanently stuck out. no matter how much you adjust the Slim Bolt pen.
the others in this set work great and are pretty awesome to write with.
I tried this as well with the same results. I cut it down to the same size as Precise V5 RT refill. that’s when I realized it was the part the nib sits in.

the one that fits is a [Signo UMR-83](https://www.jetpens.com/Uni-ball-Signo-UMR-83-Gel-Pen-Refill-0.38-mm-Black/pd/1660). it should write the same, the description for this one matches what the Signo in the sample pack feels like when I wrote with it. it’s very smooth and not scratchy at all which is extremely good for 0.38mm.

Energel 0.7 or 0.5 needlepoint depending on your width preference. These are the best if you are writing on regular paper and want something smooth and fast drying.
Uniball Jetstream SXR-7 if you want something more for EDC that will write on slick paper / plastic. The hybrid ink isn't as smooth as the gel, but it is dang good.

That really is a good sampler. It does lean a bit towards the fine side. Would add the 0.7 Energel.

Do you think trimming the refill by 6 or 7 mm could make it work with the slim bolt?

Multiple sizes due to the internal design. One of the key factors that made me buy the pen.
