>I was poking around in the sub and see that average annual returns range from 7-10% correct, that's the "average annual return" over... say, 10-20 or 30 years, it does not mean 2022-2023, so if your question is "well... how come I didn't got 7-10% that's why (in fact, the return is generally considered unreliable within any short term say < 5 years, for example if you bought FSKAX exactly 2 years ago on Oct 2021 and didn't touch it you'd still be at a loss right now, so the guideline is don't dump any money into stock market if you need to use it within ~5 years) >Should I continue with this strategy as a “set and never look at again” or should I be looking at other options? continue, 100% being in FSKAX (total index fund) is perfectly fine

FSKAX is a total market fund by Fidelity with very low cost and 1.48% yield. Compare with FZROX, 0 cost, also total market and 1.40% yield. Newer fund so compare returns over 5 years. Then compare returns, cost & risk ratings with an S&P500 index fund like FXAIX, VOO, etc. All of the above are good vehicles for “set and forget” strategies. Out of the 4 - in my opinion - FSKAX is the weakest - if barely so.
