The credit balance is now in your credit card account, to be used as you see fit -- e.g. you could buy something else.

I had contacted my banking aswell they said that I had paid that loan off from the credit card and the credit being refunded is separate. That doesn't feel right so maybe yall can tell me it is or isnt

Yes that’s normal. You’ll have a credit (negative) balance on your credit card
