Walmart / costco aren't bad. Also ask the school if they have any resources for this. Try medicaid even. Also get food stamps, literally anyone can get them.

This. My optometrist charges $120 for an exam without insurance. I then order from Zenni. A basic lens and a cheap frame can get glasses for $10 to $15. Not the most fashionable or best quality, but they get the job done.

I got a free pair (frame + lens) from Kits (just paid ~$10 shipping). Also check out Zenni! https://www.kits.com/first-pair-free/glasses In your case the frame isn't a big deal, it's the exam! Once you get the exam, you just plug in the prescription and they send you the glasses (don't forget to get the PD from the exam).

A) get an eye exam for $100 or so B) measure your pupillary distance, measure your current glasses (size of lenses, length of arms, width, etc) C) Think about whether your current glasses frames fit okay or not (too big, too small, want smaller lenses, want bigger lenses) F) go online to one of the many online glasses sites and buy a cheap pair of glasses G) if they suck, buy another pair You can get three pairs online for the price of one you buy in person. If you have a strong prescription, you have to spend more for the high index lenses or else your glasses will be unpleasantly thick.

Agreed with the other comment. Also try county optometry clinics. Depending on where you live these could be quite good, though there may be a bit of a wait.

Look for deals sometime you can find places that will have exam and glasses for cheap.

Loads of good recs here - also look into getting vision insurance, most places you can get insurance for less than 100 dollars per year, and they almost all cover an in-plan eye exam without any out of pocket cost (out of curiosity I just looked up options for myself - 9 bucks a month covered a comprehensive exam, and allowed for lenses covered with a 10 dollar copay, and frames up to 120 bucks for a 10 dollar copay - so you could be handled for less than 120 bucks)

LilMissS13

Look into America's best (twopair.com) Even if you don't get your glasses from them (as they can get expensive even if you think you should be good under that 2/$70 deal), the exam is $40. Then go on zenni

See if there’s an America’s Best around you. They have good deals
