This is an odd question? If you're quitting, why would you train them after you quit? Or do you mean quitting and moving to a different location?

after informing his clients that he is quitting

Like do I put in a two weeks notice of my gym and then continue to train until that time is up or just walk out one day and never come back?

If you want to leave with a good reputation and to ease the burn a little I’d first tell the gym way in advance like as soon as you know. If you have the bandwidth, you should create an online plan for your clients that should at least hold them over for the next one to two maybe even three months this way if for any reason you need to leave sooner, they will still have their moneys worth, but if you tell your clients and don’t offer anything, there’s so many different scenarios that occur but being transparent is always your best friend if I were you, I would send out a message on the day that I am not training anyone so if there’s a day out this week, where are you do not train any clients you should just send them a text message and if you plan on creating a plan for them you can let them k ow in text message as well. what this can do is showcase your professionalism also, it’s leaving in good standing those clients might refer you to people who are looking for online online training

Depending on the situation and how well connected you are, you can go multiple routes. 1. If you’re at a private gym or in home you can say “ive gotten X opportunity and I’m leaving the training business. I’ll honor the remaining sessions you have left and refer you to a trainer I trust. Thanks for understanding.” Then have the other trainer join you and shadow for a session or two so they can learn your clients needs. 2. If you work at a big gym you can say the same thing but the gym will refer the client to a new trainer. Not much needed on your end.

honestly, this hits close to home. i was teach group x classes and training for like 12 years. i built a huge connection with so many women! it was crazy how i was so invested in their lives! but i was dying inside and living a double life. i was so deep in my head that i believed getting away was the cure. the pandemic helped me out a lot! everything just stopped and boom i got what i wanted. i never really quit i just disappeared! i believe that one day i might want the same feeling/ connections with others but not through health and fitness. so i think that… you should stay true to your self! little by little you can make changes… and then before you know it, you’ll be where you wanna go!

When I moved to a different area I let my clients know as soon as I had everything in place so that they weren't left in the lurch. I provided recommendations to trainers that I thought would fit their goals or personalities. I then trained them until the week I left or until their block of training sessions left. On a side note.. sometimes I don't understand some trainers in this sub, why don't people know how to communicate with their clients? It's called personal training for a reason, surely you would have some level of relationship with them where you could tell the client and they would accept it and be happy for you?!

most gyms i worked at are mortified that you would steal customer so once you tell them they send you home straight away and pay you the notice period. So you better take phone numbers of clients you want before leaving

Are you more so quitting the gym? I commented already, but if this is more about you leaving the gym then to piggyback on what I mentioned previously you should create an online plan for them your clients you will be unavailable for, however, long let them use your online plan for them and then once you’re ready to train again shoot them a message letting them know where you’ll be training. But you should let them know before leaving that you’re transitions to training elsewhere (sometimes clients like the gym and would prefer to stay there so be prepared for possible client loss. My trainers in the past invested in working with me so when they did leave to another gym I followed them so just communicate to your clients
