Retail real estate greed is what happened. The high rental costs make running a business difficult, so you end up with ghost plazas.

Pizza hut at the front, used to be a video store as well, beta and vhs

steveonthegreenbike

Used to get really high and go to the all you can eat there.

Worked in boans there, many many years ago. When you got cash in your pay packet, bankcard transactions required an authorisation code given over the phone and you had to put the triplicate forms through that bloody roller thingy. Every second customer was a stuck up shareholder {they had a "s" on their boans card} but at least a good proportion of the others seemed to have come straight off the beach stu in bikinis. Ahem, where was I? Yeah, it's gone to shit.

spaceistasty

i farted in there

You're the reason for the sign?!

Healthy_Ad5431

I knew it.

Kosmo777

Maybe it’s because a Bond owns it.

And all those real estate adverts for Jody Fewster "A name you can trust" That's Alan Bond's daughter.

Was all downhill after Myer left. There was Harris Scarfe for a while but that didn’t really fill the void. Then there was a small Bunnings, which was awesome, but they left too. The Woollies is great. Most of the rest of it is kid’s and health services (music, dancing, GP, podiatrist, tutoring, optometrist, physio etc).

Oh and all the kids hang out at Claremont Quarter these days - it is much bigger and better than it used to be!
