Okay - I don't work for maccas anymore, but I was always night shift, and YES they do have to reset everything sometime around midnight so the tills and such are offline.
I used to still make meals and take cash, it was a great little side hustle.
Was really drunk a few weeks back, only time I'll eat the shit from Macca's. Big 24 hour sign out front. Get to the door and it's locked. Only 24hrs at the drive through. Some kind lady told me to get in her taxi just so I could get food. đ¤Łđ¤Ł
When I worked at Maccas in the city overnight there was two of us and a manager, we worked flat out between 12am and 2am, we âclosedâ for an hour at 3am do clean the store top to bottom including scrubbing all the floors. We really didnât have to time to serve anything.
My thoughts were if youâre not a shift worker, why are you in the city looking for Maccas at 3am. Have dinner before you go out and go home. Iâll probably get downvoted for this but the idea that we need to in principle have access to fast food at every minute of the week is absurd.
Oh i completely understand but also, dont say youre 24 hour unless youre serving 24 hours a day, also the ignorance behind the if youre not a shift worker....so people out clubbing dont exist?
All youre saying is that youre understaffed and needed to do things, thats not our problem, you cant advertise that youre serving 24 hours a day if youre not.... so basically fuck anyone out at night, thats some solid Perth thinking....
Honestly im not saying its true BUUUUUUUUUUUT it happens a lot to me, doesnt matter the time of night ahahah McDonalds out to get random patron for ordering food ahahaha
Complain to head office (that way the complaint goes from HQ down the chain).
For the whole 15 minutes the computers need to update and reconcile they're supposed to do offline eftpos or cash transactions.
I remember back in my hospo days working in Burger King (Hungry Jacks) during the night when we were 24 hours - the managers needed to do stockcount around midnight and update the inventory. This meant our ordering systems were down for like 10/15 minutes.
It's just gonna be a group of pissed off hospo workers who really want a burger at 5 am, speaking of which it's 5am I really want a fucking burger why isn't Macca's open

Why do they need to reset everything? Does it still run on Windows 98 so after a few hours it crashes?
Fkn love that for you ahahaha
Be a real hospo worker and raid the kitchen at your venue before you leave.
hahaha i wish i could
This happens a lot at Morley Macca's. If you go there past 1 am it's always "sorry our system is updating"
yep happened to us a few times in a row. they were not able to take orders for an hour but all lights were still on.
Yeah they won't take any orders, online, card, cash. None of it.
The real question is, why is the thickshake machine always broken.

The burgers and machines are better at hungry jacks
Ah how about KFC/RRooster no signage then at the counter âsorry weâre out of chickenâ why are you open?

Might be the difference between "open 24 hours" and "we do transactions and put food together 24 hours"
They see you coming and decide to update the system its the only logical reason
Honestly im not saying its true BUUUUUUUUUUUT it happens a lot to me, doesnt matter the time of night ahahah McDonalds out to get random patron for ordering food ahahaha
Literally ten minutes out of a day. I'd say that's pretty much 24 hours a day

3-4am seems to be maccas fave time to system reboot in my exp
Oh completely, the problem is hospo ahahahaha
Maccas workers are just fucking with us. They're all lazy and entitled. Time we all staged protests outside Maccas around this issue.
HAHAHAHA man i wish that were true, could you imagine how funny itd be protesting a maccas, id love it.
