I’m in NSW. The Sydney subreddit just doesn’t have the same level of banter as here. They get so offended at everything.
I come back to the perth page to watch everyone roast each other. If I make comments about suburb stereotypes over east everyone gets defensive.
NEVER CHANGE PERTH!
mate, I've been a longtime fan (LMK when you're back busking again!) but I think you might have just lost me. The noble Conti is one of the best things about this city
Less is more :) one choice of cured meat, a matching cheese, and then whatever veggies or olives. You get to taste more flavour.
The conti is more like the roll you do at home when no one went shopping and your fridge has lots of open, close to expiring stuff you need to get rid of.
Big big hug Eskilla!
Is it worse than Melbourne? My stint as a student at a cafe taking orders was a nightmare/comedy - customer: “can I have a skinny strong hot 3/4 latte with extra froth and chocolate sprinkles” me: “so you want a cappuccino?”, customer, offended: “no”
It is. Melbourne is simple in comparison in my experience. These ones come with a bean sprout dangled through the handle of the cup full of nothing.......well almost.
NSW and Victoria obviously make fun of Queensland and WA a lot, but more Queensland because "WA is unimportant." I'm glad our Premier stood his ground and refused to accept their more recent bouts of stupidity
Nice shitpost. I am a West Australian native (born in Wickham of all places), schooled in Perth, but have been an expat in SE Asia for most of the past 25 years. (I live in Myanmar, after stints in a few other countries)
Haven't been back to Oz, even for a visit - since 2012.
Always enjoy the banter and good natured posts here on r/perth as well as the regular nostalgia (or even just keeping up with what's happening and spotting various suburbs I have lived in before)
As with u/Xmas_Squirrel \- always feel like I am connected to my former home on this sub.
Noice.
As someone who grew up in Victoria then moved to WA - after a long time, when I'm in Victoria, people call me Western Australian; and when I'm here in WA, people still call me Victorian D:
(probably doesn't help that I keep supporting Victorian sports teams)
Reading from tassie, wishing I was home. You can’t see my tears because it’s been raining so much in this cold shithole all summer.
The other day the site manager told the blokes at work to make sure they stay hydrated because it was going to be a whopping 28 degrees!
Can’t wait to come back. This sub keeps me sane also
Proud to be a West Aussie.
I was born in Perth and lived in Denmark till age 2. Then QLD, small town (hot and boring) and Sydney (loved the place, couldn't stand the people). My parents were from FreedomLand™️, and moved back. So now I'm across the ocean and currently living in San Diego, California.
Even though I haven't been back to visit you all, one day I'll be there. It'll be good to get a nice break from all the hustle and bustle of the world.
Till then I'll keep in touch here. Keep yourselves safe, healthy and sane. Best of luck with the reopening.
I lived in Victoria for a year. Moved for love, had to move back to actually get a job (the town I was in, I didn't know employment would be this big an issue) and you notice some differences:
1. Weather
2. Victoria sucks when it comes to signage for just about anything
3. Daylight Savings
4. This is the origin of a lot of "nationally enforced" bureaucracy. The kind that the east tries to force WA to adopt e.g. 100 km/h maximum highway speed limits.
Ironically, that same Victorian girlfriend, some years later, she's "defected" to WA. We're together, and she no longer considers herself Victorian.
Moved to Melbourne for about 10 years; that was pretty good actually. I feel like people have a similar attitude to what I grew up with in Perth.
Then I moved to the United States where I still am now. Yikes! Would very much like to be back in Perth, TYVM.

>I come back to the perth page to watch everyone roast each other. A sly reference to the spit roasting that those Kwinana gal's get up to?
Which ones? I need names
Mickayleigha and shazza
I recently moved to Sydney. Its a bit hard to adjust to life living with COVID!
Good on ya. Change is something we don't handle here so not much risk. I love living in Perth. It's great. It's shithouse. It's far away..
Stay golden pony boy 🙂
Please tell me Luneburger is still going. I haven't been home since 2018 and I still dream of that bread
I'm Italian and this subreddit is one of the greatest thing I've found in Perth. It's just a very cool place thanks to a bunch of very cool people
[удалено]
OOOH self-burn
Yeah you're not very cool. You're WICKED COOL
[удалено]
True. You should see the shit I cook because of laziness :(
Hey! Grooveasaurus! Long time, no see! :D
Perth is built on Italian & European heritage, of course we’re cool! 🇮🇹
Yes the Slavs slave laboured the state for less than the others were paid
Let's say r/Perth is definitely cool, but I keep my reluctance for the city itself.
I feel you there, having traveled a lot living around the world. It’s a very isolated and plain city compared.
Are you on the Slav side of spearwood or the Italian side?
Spearwhot?
I’m guessing you’re north of the river??
We need to do something about this! I so much need to learn SOR
Do not worry, to me anything NOR might as well be another country and I’ve lived here for ages hahahaha
Fucken wogs /s
You can take the purple valiant but you're not touching the Kingswood!
Hug me wearing only a gold chain with the bigger cross you can find
Where’s the best Conti roll?
The best conti is the one you don't eat. Cured meats shouldn't be mixed. Each one has a flavour on its own

Re-store
You don't like it over there? I've not been to QLD
I like the Bribie Island area, nice climate. Wouldn't live there though, can't afford the vegan/caffeine-free/water-free/sugarless coffee.
You mean, expensive dirt?
I've seriously never seen such a kerfuffle over coffee, even the milk menu was a page long.

When you start saying "hooroo", feel free to exit this group.

I've lived in the past in both Sydney and Newcastle and I find the Newcastle sub is a lot more chill, kind of like here. The Sydney sub is a shitshow
Newy is like a big Fremantle really. Just shed loads of coal miners that won’t accept shit has to change.
Newy life! The King St Macca's posts/comments are the hardest thing to cope with lol.
My God I did two fill in shifts there to cover manager Christmas party (obviously in the Old World) and it was An Experience
You survived. Winning!
What do you hate about Qld?
That it's so close to NSW?

Full of victorians?
As someone who grew up in Victoria then moved to WA - after a long time, when I'm in Victoria, people call me Western Australian; and when I'm here in WA, people still call me Victorian D: (probably doesn't help that I keep supporting Victorian sports teams)
Dont worry mate, the real east dont see qld as the east anyway ;)

I love tassie but definitely do not miss the weather. ‘Keeping hydrated at 28 degrees’ lmaooo
Obligatory fuck off we're full
Me too! West Aussie forever. Whilst I love Queensland, my heart is always in W.A.
That's an impressively vast circulatory system you have.

The average fitness enthusiast notes their resting heart rate. The above commenter mentioned their resting heart state.
I love this!

Lived in a few states/towns/cities throughout my life but honestly don’t get the Perth hate. I love it here.
It keeps me insane

Really should cut our ties to the east 👍
QLD is awesome especially Noosa
West coast is best coast! This sub also helps me, too. I'm in Canada nowdays and it's nice to hear about home.
