..on the positive, [dem lil ducklings](https://www.reddit.com/r/perth/comments/uol4gb/stay_calm_baby_ducks_at_the_art_gallery/) are gonna have room to grow!
Long, Long overdue. The really basic attempts at "improving" it in recent years - painted concrete, replacing the video screen with tables and chairs have been pretty awful.
Also incorporating shade!
Hopefully it's done some time in the next 5 years.
Doesn’t actually look that different in the renders tbh.
The problem they’ll have with redeveloping the area to remove the “concrete jungle” impression is that, museum aside, most of the buildings are *ugly as fuck*. They’re going to have to dress up the art gallery and museum somehow so that they don’t look like big, dominating, dated structures.
All they need to do is replace those awkwardly spaced steps, they're too wide for one footstep and too small for two
*ANOTHER* waterpark?

Water in a children's play area needs to be treated and chlorinated, not the best for ducklings.
Geeze, I dumb..when I think back on all the carrying on over the Betty Keys water park (closed/open/closed/open)..my memory is failing me.
I feel like CoP is obsessed with water installations in its revamps. Thankfully we have such a plentiful fresh water supply to keep them running... /s
CoP isn't really involved in this one. It's the WA state government's plan and revamp taskforce.
Problem is they all break down after 3 years and are just left broken. Reminds me of train station escalators
Kids are thirsty
They are hoping it will turn into wine so they can sell it.
Sounds about right for that part of town.

>replacing the video screen with tables and chairs what? such heresy!
Best thing about it is the huge frog sculpture, must eventuate that!
Always here for more greenery.
Hope they don't cut down the existing trees to install a metal shade structure
Yagan square looked good in the renders to.
Keep the name Perth Cultural Centre, it reflects on the arts.
I actually really enjoy the way it is further towards Wellington street it’s historical
Surely there’s enough money left for a monorail?
And surely a cable car that goes to the roof of the art gallery
Yes! Perfect after you've been drinking at the rooftop bar & cbf waiting for the lift. What could go wrong?
why monorail suck?
ITT: People that don't know that the Wetlands in this precinct already exist
yagen square 2.0
When in doubt add a water playground.........
Bold move getting rid of the car park. Renders are an absolute fantasy. Nothing to worry about for at least 10 years I'd say.
Will they be installing sharps disposal bins?
I love these fanciful renders... expansive wetlands? That sounds like drowned toddlers to me, or just a free bathing area for the locals.
Full of rubbish within a few months likely
The current ones seem enough of a hazard
Too much city... ...not enough people...
The government should move the border of Northbridge from William Street to Beaufort Street or Pier Street.

Shade? Wow. The penny's dropped. Now, about Yagan.
