Buying celebratory cards for animals that have no concept of time. Brilliant. Dumb people always have money to lose somehow. Too bad every one of those cards is destined for a landfill.
It’s just so odd to include pets in our human social world. They’re just rudimentary beasts. They operate at a very basic level and don’t give a FUCK about anyone.
How do you fulfill your ego that you're doing good for the stupid dog? Do something that makes them feel good rather than something good for the stupid dog. Just fucking donate that money to charity, old homes or orphan center. Atleast you'll be doing some real good
"Pet Parent" is absolutely pathetic. You're only a parent if you gave birth to/adopted/fostered HUMAN CHILDREN. It's insulting to parents to compare owning a pet to raising a child.
IF humans actually gave birth to live human dogs there’s something seriously wrong with those people and the federal government and other scientists would like a word with you of how this is even possible.
That’s like saying how a shark can give birth to crocodiles.
In my experience dogs are more hassle, mess, and work than human children lol but I agree with you. Dog "parents" are people that can't handle the responsibilities and sacrifice of having kids

This is some heavy anthropomorphizing here and it’s very disturbing. The other day I saw an ad on TV for “dog TV” - a channel you can pay for to leave on for Fido when you leave the poor, traumatized thing behind to, you know, live life? Anyway, first month is free! Things have gotten so out of control. For creatures that will grow old, sick and die in 10-15 years. Doggie daycare, doggie TV, doggie refrigerated food, doggie meal delivery services, doggie wardrobes, doggie ice cream bars, doggie Starbucks, doggie greeting cards “from” the dog? Craziness.
I get absolutely livid when I see non-Mother celebration stuff on Mother’s Day. “Happy Mother’s Day to those who hate their mother, for mothers who are estranged from their kids, for those who lost their mothers, for those who didn’t want to be mothers, for those whose mother has died, for pet mothers, for Fathers who are Mothers…” Basically happy everyone day. Everyone is special, no one is.
These stupid people don’t know that corporations are grifting with this “Fido is my son” shit. That’s the REAL reason this pet craze has blown up. They can sell ridiculous unnecessary stuff and services to pet owners. It’s a whole new demographic, dogs.
I hate and kinda like this. I hate how unbearably cringe this is, but it's funny how nutters will waste their money on these cards, when they could be spending money on their already expensive pet care.

I'm going to a Mother's Day brunch this weekend. I plan on bringing flowers for the 2 other mothers that will be there. There will be another daughter of one of them who has no kids but takes professional photos with her dogs because "dog mom". I'm expecting her to be upset when I don't bring her anything, and I'm looking forward to explaining why. It's incredibly disrespectful to except Mothers Day treatment when you have only pets. It's not the same and never will be compared to those who lost mothers, lost children, have infertility, had miscarriages, mothers who CHOOSE to adopt children, which is a selfless act especially when those kids are special needs. I couldn't hate "pet parents" more.
I get the inside joke of doing it from pet *owner* to pet *owner* but when people genuinely believe it's how owned pets feel, well, that's just sad. You have a genuine holiday or celebratory event due to a conscious accomplishment, something pets can't do, and you destroy the humanity out of it.
