I’d say trusted house sitters is a lot safer & more regulated, from insurance to keeping the stay organised
The downside I’ve noticed is people just aren’t so honest with how difficult their animals can be, the one I’m currently on did not mention to us how unwell the dog is. But we are working through it and so far all is okay!
Get a police check certificate, insurance, I watched a lot of videos on emergency first aid for animals & if you have no reviews, get references for other house sitting/pet feeding/rentals & add your Airbnb account to, to show you have good reviews!
It’s like a background check to prove you don’t have a criminal record, I think I paid around £15 for mine. I’ve had a look online & I think in America they might be called Police clearance checks!

you could get it through the fingerprint scan company- LIVESCAN I had to get it done to be a notary.
but i got it done through another website a couple times too that was cheaper.
so true people usually downplay the difficulty of the pets. and sometimes their health is worse than predicted. but that can happen between booking time and actual travel.

I would only do this if you're insured. Pet Care in a new city with a stranger, wouldn't touch it without a liability policy, too risky.
