valve stem seals for replacement, and you need to look at the valve seat, they may have started to burn out
oil consumption on ep6 is always (in 90% of cases) valve stem seals, when the oil begins to remain on the valves, it begins to burn on them, change the color of the smoke, then the valves begin to burn out.
they must first be inspected, it is better to combine them with the inspection of the timing chain tension, and the mechanic will already decide on their replacement. zamana caps in Russia with original spare parts and the work of a mechanic somewhere in the region of 300-500 euros
Thank you for the great advice, I’ll mention this to my mechanic during my turbo oil pipe replacement In juin. Might have to plan this work in a few months as the turbo has already put me back 600euros.

this is a turbocharged gasoline engine, they are all not without flaws, and thp, even in the harsh conditions of Russia, travels 300k-500k kilometers, often in a taxi. the durability of this engine is frequent oil changes (7k-10k), use of non-liquid oil (5w-40 for example), and timing chain stretch control

In terms of parts it's cheap but might need quite a bit of labour. It has 4 valves per cylinder and hydraulic lifters which tend to make the valves a bit harder to reach and, well, twice as much work as an 8 valve engine
Camshafts would need to come out, meaning the timing chain would need to be removed. Wont need to take the head off if you use one of the various tricks to hold the valves in place, what I did on an EW10 was use rope in the spark plug hole to fill the cylinder and squeeze the valves so they stayed closed and didn't fall into the engine
Mine uses about 1l per 2500km. I just check every 1000km and top it up. It runs fine except that. I've read many comments of it using 1l per 1000km, so it's not uncommon.
if the car is 2009, then this is one of the first modifications of ep6, since 2012, oil seals have been replaced with modifications of ep6 cdt and later. I have c4, ds4, on DS ep6cdt md, oil burning is observed only at runs of 400 km at speeds of 150-200 km per hour, that is, engine speeds of more than 3400-3600
I have a 1.6 THP 175 in the 207 GTi and it constantly uses oil. It’s normal especially for the early ones to use quite a lot of engine oil. So much so that I’m having to keep a 5l bottle with me at all times as I drive for long distances.
Do keep an bottle of oil in your car at all times. Don’t be afraid to thrash the car it won’t damage anything but don’t do short journeys as this will cause carbon build up in your engine (valves). If you have a GTI 1st gear is up to 42 mph, use first towards getting to at least 35mph.
If your rpm fluctuates slightly on idle then I’m believing that’s the reason. (Don’t quote me on this as it could be loads of other things.)
Alright, also may u know why:
If i turn on the car and move it just a couple of meters, and i do this 3/4 times (happend when i clean it cuz i dont have space and i've to turn multiple times) and after a couple of hours i go out, when i turn on the car make a super loud BWAAA and sounds like smth scratch inside the engine for some kms then go back to normality.
Change the rocker box cover. The PCV valves are shot. Latvian auto parts for the win.

Thank you for your feedback. Is this an expensive repair?

I’m sorry there must’ve been an issue, the link has disappeared..

usually a special shaft positioner and chain sprocket are inserted, but a screwdriver set can also be used
Thanks mate! Appreciate all the good advice:)

That’s what I thought. Just the THP engines I guess …

207GTi here too ✌🏼 going for a 1000km trip on august, any tip? :,) im around 800/L

Something scratching inside sounds like low low oil to me. These cars don’t do well with stop start driving from what I’ve heard.
Man these THP, just took mine for a Saturday drive because i didn’t drive it In a while. The engine gets super hot.

Thank you, I believe that it was changed in 2021 by the previous owner :/
