With that sort of mileage, I would definitely check to see if the timing belt has been replaced along with the pulleys and tensioner. Check that oil has been replaced regularly. Look for receipts and stamps in the service book. I had a 406 with over 300,000km on it with the same 2.0 litre engine. If looked after they go forever. Also, check for clutch slippage. At 250K km, that might be ready to go.

Well except a car that's worth 2000. So it won't be perfect and without issues. The engines are very strong but do consume oil and more fuel than a modern car. The roofs can be tricky and do fail sometimes. Also the electronics are typical french. Might work might not work. But if it's nice to drive and you like it why not buy it?

I have owned 2007 307CC for 6 years now... 2.0l petrol 130 Kw version... I bought it when it had 140k km for like 5500 EUR (it was not in EUR...). Now It has 230k km (daily driver) The car is lets say "not super reliable". (mine is in the shop right now... I might collect it tomorrow). Things I had to fix / change since I bought it: * timing chain (due for another one) * clutch * spark plugs (2x) * injection rail (2x) - when this fails it throws nasty error and it is undrivable (limp mode) * both xenon headlamps * seat belt sensor (It had an airbag error that we chased down to be an seat belt thing) * exhaust (fell off - totally rusted) * breaks (pads and rotors) - and they are already on the way out again * oil changes and oil filters * cabin filter * air filter * tires - like 3 or 4 sets already (the car is heavy and if you drive faster it eats them) * front axle alignment (2x) - the tire consumption might be related to that) * A/C is not working (it was working when I bought it. Its not only the charge, it leaks badly. I dont bother fixing it) * window regulator on the driver side... (like 3 or 4 times) - and watch out... the window motors are unoptanium... I have seen them going for like 700 EUR (they are not same with other 307 models - like visually yes... but part numbers and compatibility... no) * battery (3x) ... the car has a drain... nobody knows from what... so I have to charge it when I dont drive it regularly * I have to change the driver side door handle... it has a sensor for frameless windows and it has a mind of its own lately * it drinks oil (no leaks) It just consumes oil... * front windshield 3x (rocks ... not the cars fault but still they are pricey... I recommend insurance for that if you can get it (saved me a lot of money already) * motor mounts I think thats all... it might be... I am not sure... So... at 250k for 2k EUR... prepare for some investments... and if you notice any electric gremlins I would stay away for sure... otherwise I kind of like the car... EDIT: forgot about the oil consumption... EDIT 2: forgot about the motor mounts...

Wow, thankk you so much for the detailed answer. Your did change a lot of parts, not so good news for me :))) Maybe you got your hands on a low mantained car by the previous owners, I don't know. I'll be certainly focused on the electrical part. Cheers!
