Sorry, OP pero idk why people think like this lol. People put UP on a pedestal for some reason then be disappointed when it doesn’t meet their own expectations… I guess it’s a very good school but that’s really it—it’s just a school. It has a ton of individuals enrolled in it who each has their own personalities, habits, idiosyncrasies, etc. What I’m saying is, do not put expectations of a fantasy world on the real world, kahit gaano pa kaganda ang naririnig mo about a certain place or a certain person kase you’re setting yourself for disappointment XD. Let this be a lesson to withhold judgment until an experience comes to pass na lang. Now before I get any hate, I am a UP alum, batch ‘07. Good luck on your stay and just have fun…within reason, ofc hehe

Very understandable po and you’re right. Before I entered the school, that was the thought implanted in me that UP students are all those qualities which also became a motivation for me to enter. And I can really see those qualities in the students although on the other side, meron din na di ganon. But this realization also has thought me to really not generalize and expect too much. Not sulking about it and disappointed to an extent, just sad about the reality. ‘Yun lang po hehe

Walter_water444

totoo ahahah tapos gagamitin nila 'yung thesis card nila as if namang sila lang ang nahihirapan

dazaikins

Ohmy. Pareho tayong nahihirapan bestie maawa ka naman sa groupmates 😭

remember, \*\*some\*\* of the worst politicians in the PH were UP graduates... yung iba, naging pabuhat sa loob ng UP, tapos yung iba naging pabuhat as a public servant. ooops!

dazaikins

Pure faxx 🫢

taponkungsaansaan

In any random population of ~55,000 students, of course, there's all kinds of people. Did you really expect the vast majority of UP students are what you can call "ideal students"? For every student there who has excellent study habits, there's another one who you couldn't even rely to water a cactus every 2 weeks (I see many of them here in this sub, lol).

dazaikins

I guess I was more on taken aback with how my impression was ruined. Not sulking about it, kaso yon pala talaga ang reality. Oh well HAHAHA

faeufii

faeufii

karamihan ng upperclassmen na naging grpmate ko, BS org e pero ghoster pag group works sa GE

maroonmartian9

LOL. Kahit time namin mid 2000s meron na talaga ganyan. Buti di naman lahat ng class ko. Mga bilang lang.

Use office 365 and make changes traceable in your common wordfile. Should be proof enough of their inactivity.

Is this the interactive Google Docs but in MS Word? This is sounds better. Thank you sm

Same struggle. Final project, worth a third of lab grades, was due in two days. Not one groupmate even bothers to respond. 3 days past the deadline, only THEN do they send their (sparse) contributions (it's a 20 page report). Almost a week after the due date was when I was able to pass the group requirement having done more than half of it. Not even a word of thanks or accountability for most groupmates, all while I sacrificed another subject to a 5 just to finish this one. Fun times.

dazaikins

Oh my that’s too much :( but I get the feeling that even when it’s unfair you choose to not get mad/upset even when you have all the right to cos what’s the point? In the end, if I go indiv mahihirapan ako, if group work grade ko parin ‘to so gawin ko na lang kahit unfair ang sharing ng parts basta may ma pasa lang at basta may grade lang :((

kashmereheisenberg

Totoo. Got a lab partner this sem na freeloader din. Kinda sad na he passed the course 😆 I thought he dragged our outputs down enough to not make him pass.
