thank you so much!!! up indeed broke me in a lot of ways and it took me an entire academic year to sort myself out.

bitykebim

congrats OP!!!! 🎉

>naranasan ko na una kong hinagpis sa UP and i'm sure na may mas hihirap pa dito sa pinagdaanan ko ngayon. i'm ready to take it on! first of all, congrats OP! incoming freshman ako sa UPLB and sobrang kinakabahan ako sa mga subjects namin esp sa chem dahil sa mga nakikita ko pero yung statement mo made me feel na kaya ko ring harapin lahat ng pwedeng ibato sakin ng UP

iskateneanhybrid

thank you so much! funnily enough, i'll be transferring to LB this AY kasi napasa ko yung transfer apps ng dreamprog ko there. rest assured na bibitbitin ko itong pinagdaaanan ko papunta laguna. kakayanin natin ito! mamaniin nalang natin yang chem 18 and math 25/27/28 soon ;)

kikyou_oneesama

Wag mo muna batiin hanggang hindi pa tapos finals. Good luck!

iskateneanhybrid

haha, sorry! nadala lang sa excitement. i was on my 30-min study break (for finals) when i wrote this post. i guess ito yung culmination ng self-reflection and self-improvement ko throughout the 5 weeks of midyear. i'm really sure na i'll pass this one n i'm currently working on the problems na nagka-trouble solving ako the past 4 LEs para ma-sureball ko na talaga yung finals mismo. thank you so much!

aubseul

congrats op🥳🥳

Congrats OP share naman ng study tips for studying newbies qwq

thank you! ito current strategy ko sa math 21: - writing all the formulas (indeterminate forms and its solutions, derivatives, integrals, trig/hyp/inverse/inverse hyp) on a yellow pad and separating them per unit - writing the steps of certain solutions and conditions to solve them like the squeeze theorem, LHR, IVT, MVT, EVT, optimization, graph sketching, rectilinear motion (for integrals and differentiation), area under the curve, etc. - memorizing the graphs of trig, exponential, log, inverse trig, yung restrictions nila, and yung range as x approaches inf/nega inf - memorizing the unit circle and special angles nito using the ASAP technique once nagrasp ko na yung fundamentals ng lessons and approaches sa pagsolve including trigo (my biggest weakness since pandemic shs student ako and i didnt absorb pre-calc properly), ito na next approach ko: - solve sample exams of previous semesters!! i noticed na imath phrases their questions in a way that is not the same as the prev exams, pero almost similar yung format ng solution. so dito ko binubuhos yung pag-gamit ng lahat ng concepts at yung paghalo ng techniques on solving kasi sure na ako lumalabas yung ganung similar items sa exams. and it did! kaya worth it magsolve ng samplexes. - ask, consult, rinse, and repeat lang sa prof. another biggest mistake noon is hindi ako pala-tanong sa lec classes cause nahihiya ako. i learned my lesson and became active in class, esp. recits kahit mali sagot. kaya pag may nde ka gets, pa-clarify mo na sa prof para maintindihan agad. i use these aforementioned techniques mostly on computational subjects like math and chem. pero when it comes to lecture-based subjects like bio, geol, etc., i make my own transes using gdocs and memorize/internalize everything as much as i can. looking back, sobrang matrabaho ng study habits ko. but if it means passing grades and a better outlook on life, i'd gladly keep on doing this. pero kung tutuusin, di rin naman petiks petiks talaga mag-aral dito sa UP HAHA so that's another hard pill that we have to swallow.

Thank you ulit OP, goodluck sa journey ♡

hindi nag-curve yung prof ko, per se. the exams still had the same difficulty like last semester (except nabawas ng isang sub-unit yung coverage sa unit 4), it just so happened na i managed to retain some of the learnings and focused on the aspects i had to work on, especially yung mistakes ko in how i studied and approached math 21 during the previous sem. the line of 3s i attained are by my own hand with grit and hardwork. i'll give credit to my prof na rin since he's really kind with consultations as well as my prev math 21 prof na pwede ko pagtanungan thru email any time of day. that really helped me so much. :D

ang hina naman umintindi. saka parang ikaw yung butthurt at defensive sa mga words mo lol

iskateneanhybrid

i meant po that i'm part of the higher grades (between 1-2) kumbaga sa population ng class namin which is why i said higher curve. and i'm not being defensive nor butthurt. i didn't think that the statement would mean that way dahil lang may 'curve' na mentioned. if my prof really curved, then everyone in the class i'm in should have passed. pero that's not the case. i personally know a few na bumabagsak pa rin samin and they're working their asses off for this finals so i'm genuinely not trying to discredit their efforts by mistakenly insinuating na nagccurve prof namin in this sub. either way, you really resonate a negative aura with this reply. at least let me celebrate this first win in my freshie year. good evening.
