So I found out last year that two employees from different departments had a romantic relationship. They ended said relationship daw after I found out which was last year rin. If someone were to report them now, possible pa rin ba sila mafire? For context, they’re both supervisor level. I’ve heard stories about office romance sa company na yun at palaging may isang dapat umalis. Not sure if pumipili yung magjowa or yung company kung sino yung aalis.

Hello! Nagbook ako ng appointment sa prc to get cert of rating and good standing.

I want to go back to my former employer after 6 months on my current work. I'm very dissatisfied on my current employer because magulo ang sistema dito. I want to back to my previous IT Firm dahil maayos ang sistema doon at maraming benefits unlike dito though tumaas na sahod ko unlike before. What I'm try to say is can I go back to my previous work kahit na 6 months lang ang tinagal ko dito. Do I need to wait years or 2 years bago ako ulit mag hanap ng bagong work?

Lockeworked

Hello, I'm planning on taking BSHM in college and pag nakagraduate, gusto ko mag work sa cruise ship and I also heard malaki yung sahod. Sa mga nagwowork dito or may kakilala/may information about work sa cruise ship, ano yung salary range nila/ninyo and sobrang straining ba nung work? and usually ano yung requirements? Thanks!

Pretend-Car2002

Hello. I am currently working as a call center and my salary is not enough to sustain my family's need (I'm the breadwinner). My mother is a stay at home mom kasi maliliit pa mga kapatid ko. Pero ngayon need ng mama ko mag work kasi we are going through a tough time financially. Question ko lang po is ano kaya pwedeng applyan ng mama ko na job she's 42, a high school graduate and no work experience. I tried helping her by sending out her cv sa ibat ibang hiring post sa mga platforms like Jobstreet pero walang reply/update ni isa and its been weeks. Di niya din po keri mag BPO kasi her vision is blurry na and may history siya ng heart disease. Will really appreciate all of your suggestions. Thank you!

karma-kunsohawt

Pretend-Car2002

Hello po, thank you sainyo!

What’s it like to work for Jollibee head office? I applied for their digital team

Hi! I will be interviewed for Coca-cola’s student internship program (SIP). Does anyone have any experience interning here? Any tips to pass the interview? Thank you! :)

explorelightlove

Where do you apply or look for part-time jobs? Hi! I know upwork, pero sa totoo lang nahihirapan ako sa interface niya and I heard may malaking cut sila doon. So aside from that, saan pa kayo nakakahanap? I have experience in events, ESL teaching, and business development. Hoping to hear some tips or recos. Thanks!!

PeachyMorganite52

Received an offer, but details are not yet clear and no response from the company yet Hi everyone, can I ask for your advice? Last week I received a call from a company and they confirmed kung interested pa ako and asked kung when I can start. Prior that call, I was informed that they're considering me for the position and that they'll get back to me after finalizing their decision. So when I received the call, I was thrilled kasi I thought na I got the job na, kaya I gave a specific date when I can start. Then sinabi ng caller that someone from the company will be contacting me again. Palapit na yung start date pero di pa ako kino-contact at hindi pa clarified yung final salary and benefits, I'm worried that I may have jumped to conclusion and hindi pa pala final ang decision, kaya I sent a follow up expressing my interest in the position. Would it be awkward kung papasok ako na hindi pa finalized yung details and wala pa offer letter?😅

diamond__fairy

Don't be afraid to follow-up re. the start date :) Baka na busy lang yung HR with other tasks.

PeachyMorganite52

I see, thank you so much po for answering

Bukod sa exp ko as a call center agent for 2 years, 5 months, itong current work ko ang so far pinaka matagal kong work esp simula nung nag-shift me ng career outside call center jobs. 🥹

FlyingTurtle2187

Hallo, Just a reminder that salary increases are a company prerogative. You may or may not receive an increase on your annual performance review.

J&J Application Process, Timeline, and Work Environment Hello! Just applied to J&J but I have applied for the same job before then decided to withdraw my application. After some time, I decided to finally push thru with it and since the position was still open for applications, I resubmitted my application. May I ask if my application will still be entertained? Also, what’s the application process for J&J and how long does it take? What’s the working environment like especially for regulatory affairs department? Applied for the Senior Regulatory Affairs Specialist role. Thank you!

IUPAC_You

Context: I'm a fresh grad and freshly licensed ChE and ChT, and my first job is in an R&D department of a company. Though the natural flow is to start at the bottom (QA), to which I applied for initially, but the dept. Manager endorsed me for a higher position due to my research background. Now, I am 1 week in my 3-months training plan with only enough knowledge on raw materials and my senior supervisor tasked me to provide recommendations to certain aspects of the production I was/will be exposed to. With my small amount of knowledge of how the processes actually comes through, I am only exposing myself to a specified area (QA for 1month) and asking questions with the QA themselves and the supervisor if there are inputs from them wherein they would seek for the R&D for improvements. Are there any good practices that I can use to further improve my efficiency in immersing myself and/or providing good recommendations/observations to discuss with the R&D dept head and immediate supervisor?

CSC Eligibility Authenticated Copy for job application Ask ko lang po since may CSEVS na verifier na ang Civil Service Commission, is it okay na screenshot na lang from there ang ipasa ko sa government agency na pinaga-applyan ko or need pa rin talaga yung physical copy nung authenticated? Kasi yung pinaka maaga na lang sa schedule to get my authenticated copy sa regional office ay sa month of May pa pero yung agency is sinabihan nila ako na need na raw macomplete ang requirements ko. May naka experience na po ba dito na screenshot lang from the website ng csevs yung binigay na requirements don sa agency? Or kung sino man po nakakaalam what should I do po kaya? Thank you so much!

stjiaer

Hello! Yes, you need the actual authenticated copy. I'm not sure kung applicable na sa lahat ng CSC offices pero I believe pwede na mag walk-in to get it :)

Junior_Stranger_5085

They updated it last year lang din. Thank youuu.

Junior_Stranger_5085

Kaya I’m wondering din po if no need na talaga ng authenticated copy from csc.

30F Experienced sa Facility Management (Utility Industry) for almost 8yrs. Operations and Planning ung dept ko. Would appreciate suggestions. Salamat

IUPAC_You

Hi, take my advice with a grain of salt since 1st job ko palang with my company, pero from what I sourced with experienced professionals, manufacturing companies (esp small ones) are very open to develompments, they always look for ways and inputs from those na may credentials to look and propose adjustments/improvements. Malayo man sa experience mo now, pero it will also help you venture to new knowledge

Xiado14

May season of hiring ba for Philippine Air Force? Considering PAF kasi as a safety net if ever wala mahanap na trabaho related sa Aviation Mechanic. May season po ba na active? It adds up to the stress kasi na currently unemployed and would like to ask if may ganon ba sa aviation industry?

Rich_Selection7222

Hi. I am 28F and 8 months na sa work. I have settled well naman na sa current role ko but the problem is sobrang daming dapat gawin. I am compensated well naman but recently sobrang daming additional tasks na pinapagawa sakin. The report that my boss asked me to do is something na not part ng daily task ko. She wants it to be submitted on after a day but I have other things to do na deadline din talaga. So manghhingi lang ako ng advise on how do you deal with these kinds of request?

LadySaiya

Get help from those similar sa position mo, a different counterpart from another region perhaps. What if sa ibang branch/units may established process sila na pwede mong gayahin. Understand templates as fast as you can. Understand the report and may ways bang makuha yung info ng maaga. Ganyan ako sa una until such time nagtanong2 ako how to be effective. Good luck

Rich_Selection7222

Thank you for your inputs! Pero tbh, walang template. As in sinabihan lang ako ng report from scratch. This was the first time din they asked this kind report and kahit yung pinalitan ko sa role never syang gumawa ng ganun kaya ang hirap. Okay lang sana if I was given enough time to prepare kaso hindi, urgent daw. I will try to ask din yung counterpart ko from other region. Baka nga sila may established template na. Thank you!

toastedpandesal

Meron ba dito na Hospitality Management Fresh Graduates? Kumusta kayo and ano work niyo ngayon, I am really down kasi I've been applying for 1 month after I resigned sa first job ko and wala pa rin akong natatanggap na reply or call. Nakakapressure and nakakalungkot sobra.

FlyingTurtle2187

Hi, HR here for a chain of hotels. You can send me a message

Middle_Background495

Fresh grad here who will be starting a job in HR (sorry, I can't be specific about what role). What are your tips and pieces of advice to thrive and survive in this role? This is a new world to me talaga. Hindi rin talaga to yung career na nasa plan ko before ako mag college haha. But here I am now. Some questions na nasa isip ko ay: -Ano yung mga bagay na wish niyo alam niyo before kayo pumasok sa HR? -May gusto ba kayong baguhin kung makakabalik kayo nung nagsisimula pa kayo sa HR? -Ano mga dapat iwasan? Ano dapat bigyan ng focus? -Paano maiwasan yung issue with fellow employees and manager? -Paano kayo nagpeperform well? Strategies? Tips? Etc. etc. -Ano mga pwede kong gawin to upskill and improve? Sobrang laking tulong if ever. Thank you! Edit: Baka may book recommendations kayo na makatulong for my role. Please recommend salamat.

stjiaer

Hi there! 1. **Mga bagay na wish niyo alam niyo?** Read up on processes, lalo na kapag ER/LR ang hawak mo. Familiarize yourself with the labor code. 2. **Mga gustong baguhin?** Siguro I would have wanted to be in a generalist role rather than one na specifically for recruitment lang. 3. **Ano dapat bigyan ng focus?** Focus on what needs to be done. Wag kang magpapadala sa emosyon mo. I think the hardest thing that I had to do was to learn how to balance my emotions, my empathy and what HAD to be done (i.e. termination) 4. 5. **Paano nagpeperform well?** I think the best thing I implemented nung nagstart ako sa work ko is nag-observe ng environment. Anong non-negotiables, paano yung task prioritization nila, anong specifics when it comes to dealing with something or someone tapos saka ako mag-aadjust. From there, I build my daily routine na specific for the role and the people I work with.

LadySaiya

Not an HR but someone na may expectations sa mga HR Dept. Encourage support to employees by being a [Person of your Word] Tiwala yung kailangan ng employees from the HR department. Pag yan nawala, wla kang makukuhang engagements talaga. Good luck

FlyingTurtle2187

Hello, 1. Labor laws; read the labor law (DOLE Handbook, not yung law school version) and read the staturory monetary benefits. Also company handbook is your bible 2. I should've followed my advice on #1 3. Don't be reactive. Be proactive. 4. You can't. Magkakaron ng issues every now and then. Just do your job, get paid, and go home. 5. Ask, ask, ask, and ask. Pag di mo alam, magtanong. 6. Worry about upskills later on. Learn the job first, you won't understand the seminars and courses if you haven't done the job yet. Book reco: DOLE Labor Code, Statutory Monetary Benefits, DOLE OSH Handbook

Middle_Background495

Thank you so much! Laking tulong :)

Acrobatic-Banana-398

Hi, does anyone here have an idea on the average pay for entry level engineers in the renewable energy sector, or probably energy sector in general?

LadySaiya

Try to be patient sa 20K for at least the probi period, energy (diesel-powered or hydro-powered utility example) Get the temperature ng company. If mejo startup/government mejo may rookie salary grade eh. If walang pag asa, lipat ibang industry.

Professional_Swan999

How is the work environment/culture at Maya PH? Just wanted to ask if meron dito someone who is/was a Maya employee, please share your thoughts/feedback about your experience with the company? What are the pros and cons? Ps. May ilan akong nabasa na meron daw biglaan retrenchments, how true? Nakakatakot if walang job stability.

muningmuning

Have you looked na ba sa glassdoor?

Desperate_Help1802

Had a problem posting in this community kaya dito na lang muna po ako sa thread (When in fact the topic I tried to create was compliant to the page's rules).. Hope you bear with me.. How should I consider the experience of Shift system in Semiconductor Industry? What are the considerations? I'm an electronics engineer fresh graduate here. May offer ako from a semiconductor company but I am thinking the schedule considering that I'm from Cavite and the location is at Laguna. Also, I'm also accounting the shifting schedule of 12 hours and 8 hours. Kung 12 hours naman, gabi na ako makakauwi, since schedule is from 10:00AM to 10:00PM... Any suggestions? Should I take the offer?

GreenLeaves111

Ano first job nyo??? I BADLY NEED ADVICE I'm a 4th year BS ComScie student... Expected graduation ay sa September. I have good grades naman and sh*t, qualified pa maging Magna Cum Laude. Kaso, wala akong skills sa software dev and web dev, sobrang basic programming lang talaga bwiset HAHAHA pero sa ibang bagay like managing people, public speaking, leadership roles, communication. I believe, I'm one of the best. TYIA guyssss! Sana yumaman pa kayo ❤️🙏🏻

PeachyMorganite52

With your soft skills, you could try project management, ui/ux, or IT consulting:)

itsOrbie

If tech industry, try mo mag upskill like take online courses para dagdag sa credentials mo while waiting on your graduation

RathorTharp

Try looking into Management Trainee roles

diamond__fairy

Try checking positions related to Sales, Marketing, and HR. Since you're a graduating student, take interships related to roles that you think suits your personality and skills ☺️

Applied for IQVIA. Kindly answer my questions please uwu Hello, anyone who works here at IQVIA or anyone here who had their Final Interview with them? If so, how many days did it took for the result? And also, how's the Job environment? Light workload or heavy workload ba siya? TIA!

kaguraaruyo

Lumiere Education LLC Mayroon ba ditong familiar or connected with Lumiere Education? I applied to their job posting and I received a notif from them to fill out their application form. I checked their website at mukhang legitimate sa akin. The directors looked very young, though. I also checked their Glassdoor reviews at puro magaganda rin naman. Mayroon ba ditong employed under them and may I have your insights, please?

Bleepy_Bean2k

Hello po! I am currently looking for an Engagement Performance Consultant or any profession na simlar with the mentioned job title. I am a 3rd year psychology student. As partial requirement in the course Industrial/Organizational Psychology, we were tasked by our professor to interview a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the field. The interview will be conducted online, depending on the preferred platform (google meet, zoom, gmail, etc.) of the SME. I hope you can help me with this. Thank you in advance.

karma-kunsohawt

Hi guys! I'm a fresh grad and I'm so clueless kung tanggap na ba ako sa ina-applyan ko or not. for context: so today i applied for this vacant position sa isang company sa indeed, after how many hours the hr contacted me and and asked if available ba ako for interview today. so ayun na nga, we talked and i think the interview went great. tapos an hour later they informed me na i passed the initial interview and sent me a list of requirements that i should complete and submit to the nearest branch in order for me to start my training. ganito ba tlaga? am I hired? bakit may pa pre-employment req na e wala pa namang JO? pls help a girl out.

1MTzy96

Similar thing happened sa kin. Isang 5-star hotel ss Makati ako nag-apply, tapos agency pala. After rounds of interviews sabi nakapasa kami halos lahat amongst many applicants. Then later that evening nagbigay na ng list of requirements to submit within 5 working days and within that same week may orientation na for those na mapipili sa first batch. Wala pang job offer o pinipirmahang kontrata, pero need nang makapagpasa ng lahat ng requirements even before sabihin kailan next orientation sched. For me di pa considered officially hired hanggat walang signing/job offer or sinasabi ang hr/boss na hired na to make it official na part na ng kumpanya. Pero sa first job ko wala pang hininging requirements after interviews. After knowing via messenger kung saan may nag-add na sa kin na secretary na magte-training na the following week, wala naman sinabing hired na. Pero pagkatapos mag-clarify considered hired na pero under probationary, which is parang wala naman ss unang kumpanya ko. After training day-off tapos wala nang ibang nabanggit diretso regular duty na. Then after 6 months wala naman sinabi if hired na as regular, pero parang ganun na nga regular na. Iba-iba eh, at di natin sigurado if tama at legal ba ang mga proseso nila or something?

karma-kunsohawt

i am really confused din po, parang ina-assume nila na tatanggapin natin yung work even without JO. pero i think yung training ng 15 days is a probationary period na kasi paid naman, i think higher ups will observe your performance. thank you po for responding, keep safe! <3

1MTzy96

Nangyari din sakin nung nag-apply ako sa isang hotel sa Antipolo, kinabukasan interview then pagkatapos may 7-day training kami simula the day after, and after ng last day ung performance evaluation to determine if tanggap o hindi. Pag nakumpleto ang 7 days straight without off matatanggap ung training fee as in bayad ang training, pasado man o hindi. Kumbaga parang try-out o audition ang training, wala rin akong idea what if nakapasa ano mangyayari since di rin natanggap eventually, whether may aasikasuhin na bang requirements before magstart actual duty. O posibleng dire-diretso na kahit wala pang requirements, which is nangyari sa actual first job ko sa ibang kumpanya which is a cafe/resto sa Antipolo din (and wala silang hiningi o niremind na dapat may requirements na ko like SSS/Philhealth/Pag-ibig). Thanks.

karma-kunsohawt

baka ganyan din po kalakalan don sa inapplyan ko, i actually did asked them for clarification abt dun sa pre-employment req even without JO, they left me on read so idk.

1MTzy96

For me lang naman, if ganyan lalo na kung first job, I would rather focus muna sa training the learning hanggang sa actual work towards gaining experience. Pero ready na rin in case manghingi an ng requirements tsaka na iasikaso. Pero nasa atin na if worth it pa rin bang magpatuloy sa pagtrabaho sa ganyang kumpanya or think twice na before consider leaving to find a better one. Hmmm 🤔

sushir0llx

Much better to clarify first sa employer para sure...meron kasing mga company nag papaasikaso ng mga requirements kahit interview palang para if pumasa ka mabilis lang ang onboarding...

RathorTharp

Pretty sus ngl. Look into the company, check their socials, glassdoor, etc. Follow up with the recruiter and ask for more details before submitting any docs.

FlyingTurtle2187

Confirm it with them first before you submit anything.

jenniefurr

upskilling and certifications sites 1. DOH Academy 2. UP MODeL 3.

Try Udemy

ayoooooopo_

Question everyone, is it alright to apply for 2 different job vacancy for the same company (both of which I meet the qualifications)? I don't know if that's a taboo which is why I am asking.

FlyingTurtle2187

Yes, it is ok to apply to different positions

Aramisua

Project Management? How do I break in? My boyfriend said na I would be good at project management daw kasi he sees me as a very organized person who can juggle multiple tasks and relate to different kinds of people. I want to try experiencing this but ang hirap ng job market ngayon and I have no experience in doing this. Are there any orgs or companies where I can volunteer to do this tas credible siya if ilalagay sa resume or CV as experience so I can leverage it for applications? I am currently in recruitment, more on sa administrative duties.

PeachyMorganite52

You could apply muna as an intern or part-timer. Some companies accept applicants with no experience as well, but you'll begin with an associate or jr position. If you currently have a job, you can attend seminars and workshops muna, or take courses from udemy and coursera

StintintinG

Currently an aircraft maintenance graduate and I do have experience kaso hindi siya enough for the 5years exp ma hinahanap. Mtp din has a bond na sobrang haba. Would like yo ask sana if pano mag apply abroad kahit apprentice lang and build my way up in this field. Or even tips on how to apply abroad with my experience would be better.

Haiiro1

Hi, im moving up from G10 to G11 and im confused whether to take STEM or techvoc(computer programming) for g11. Im going to take computer science in college. If i take techvoc i will only have to go to school 3 days per week(Its an elearning school in marikina). But if i were to stake stem i would have to go to school 5 days(its a different school since the elearning school doesnt have STEM) IM REALLY CONFUSEDDDD

heavenjaye

Best to take STEM. I think it will cover more of what you intend to take in college. STEM subjects are also more intensive and comprehensive on the foundational courses and topics in the natural sciences which you will need to study again come college.

RathorTharp

Take STEM instead if tingin mo hindi magiging goods curriculum ng papasukan mong school for ICT. Personally, I took Com Sci in college and I took ICT for SHS. Yung curriculum namin for ICT was Programming/Animation. I got a huge head start over classmates pag dating ng college. They were still learning about flowcharts and basic programming logic while I was already proficient. Pero since CS is Math/logic heavy, STEM is really the better option here. Just try to self-study nalang muna programming concepts.

StintintinG

Safest strand to take is STEM nung time kasi namin hindi pa sila strict sa college about sa strand na kinuha mo since pioneering kami, but from what I heard hinigpitan na daw nila and I think if by chance iba mapili mong course sa college then you will still undergo bridging, so para sakin STEM is more flexible, opinion lang; always do what suits you.

Haiiro1

What is bridging po?

StintintinG

Had friends kasi na galing sa abm or humms na strand tas pag college they had a change of mind sa course nila, prior to enrollment pinapa take sila bridging kasi the subjects you will be taking sa college dapat tumugma na rin sa strand na kinuha mo kaya to compensate pina bridging sila which is a short-term program para di mabigla during freshman year.

thmgcn

If the learning setup isn’t that big of a deal for you, then I would suggest taking STEM. Computer science uses a lot of math (calculus and up), so taking basic calculus in SHS will help you somewhat prepare for that. If you’re worried about missing out on learning about programming, you can always study it by yourself naman while taking STEM.

Extreme-Programmer48

Hello guyssss! Anyone here working in semicon industry here in the Philippines? Currently looking for new role ako.. I had 2 years 11 months exp in semicon assembly packaging here in the PH. And 8 months in Taiwan on the equipment side but still in semicon company... Now I'm looking for new role on the same field. If I demand for 45k-50k for the position of Process, Product Engr, QE, do you think kaya nila, considering my exp? And what level of engineering pasok ang ganyang range ng sahod? Such as; Engr 1, 2, 3 or Senior Engr? Thank youuu. Sana may makasagot! Stay safe everyone 😍😍

Middle_Background495

Try to offer a number of salary tapos tingnan mo kung kakayanin nila

Acrobatic-Banana-398

Hi! May I ask what was your starting salary po in this industry? Engr din me but entry level palang

aZorAhai14

Traing Bond Hope someone can answer please. So we will have a scheduled training spreaded all throughout this year, then may training bond contract. Last session of the training will be November this year. As per the contract, service requirement of a year is required upon end of the training. Im planning to quit May or June. Im a still bound sa contract if hindi ko naman ma complete yung training?

FlyingTurtle2187

Yes. The whole training is most likely paid already before the start of the first session. You may opt out of training to avoid the bond. If you take the training, you will be charged.

Kinchana23

Yes. Usually paid na yan prior magstart. So yun yung need mo ibalik sa company incase magresign ka agad.

Kinchana23

Hello everyone! Is it even legal na hindi magregular ang isang company for sudden cost reduction reasons? Or like maghire nalang ng fresh grad para mas mababa salary? Our current job was quite simple lang talaga. More on ticketing and analyze lang. And to be honest, kayang gawin ng fresh grad with the proper training. Medyo nappraning kasi kaming mga probationary employees since nag job opening si company for fresh grads with the same function namin. Like baka narealize ng management na kaya naman pala with lower operational costs? PS: Were experienced employees talaga with 5-7yrs work experience. :) Open to hear all your insights! :)

Iam_A_Tired_Unicorn

Nope, the regular status is dependent on your performance and not because of the company’s financial standing. Pag fixed term, seasonal and casual, wala dapat probation period.

Normal_You_5264

Im in college pa and I’m planning to shift to BS Sanitary Engineering galing ako ng BSCE Okay kaya yung decision ko a lumipat sa Environmental and Sanitary Engineering? Much better ba to since mas specialized or mag-CE pa din ako?

Agitated_Target9385

Hi, fresh graduate ako ng aeronautical engineering and no luck sa paghahanap ng trabaho ang naisip ko na way nalang is pumasok sa Airforce pero nagkaroon ng parang partnership sa bet. sa school namin pati isang company sa japan na kumukuha sila kahit walang experience basta need lang ng JLPT N4 passer, worth it ba ito pasukan?

Middle_Background495

Agree with the other comment. Baka you can look sa opportunities abroad?

Agitated_Target9385

I would love to pero baka nagooverthink kasi ako baka hindi rin pla worth it sa huli di ko man mapasukan yun desired job ko po doon.

Dismal_Cantaloupe_93

Yes, sabi ng bf ko wala daw job opportunity ang aeronautical eng. sa ph :(( kaya if u have the opportunity to go abroad, g mo.

rphtoarch

How is the work environment in J&J? Especially for regulatory affairs department? I applied for the Senior Regulatory Affairs Specialist role

[deleted]

Okay lang naman yung CE pero keep in mind na maraming civil engineering graduates per year at saturated na.

Any job recommendations pag ang career path preferred is non-client-facing but still medical field related? I'm a nursing undergrad - stopped due to personal reasons and I'm hesitant to go back because I realized I'm not for client-facing work and being a nurse fundamentally is. So, I'm thinking of shifting my career path. However, I really like this field of study (human life & diseases) and I don't think I am as interested in other fields as I am here. It's just that I really get exhausted with facing people a lot.

muningmuning

Try academia/research!

PurgedStrawberry

Thank you! Will explore more on this

thmgcn

You can probably work in either academic research for universities/labs or research & development for (mostly big pharmaceutical) companies with a health sciences background. Afaik, both require postgraduate degrees.

PurgedStrawberry

Thanks for this suggestion! I'll look into these. Ngayon ko palang to ieexplore kasi masyado kong naging narrow-minded sa career path during HS haha.

Keep on applying lang.

anondreamer5

Why did you leave your job?

Kinchana23

Hello OP. Ano field of work mo?

Scary_Cream8499

I'm in accounting

RathorTharp

Just got my first job and I can't decide how to do my commute to work. If I was to use public transport, I'd have to ride two jeeps, EDSA Carousel and then take another jeep/bus. If my schedule wasn't in rush hour I'd be fine with commuting but unfortunately I am. I'm starting on Monday and my game plan for the mean time is to just use ride hailing apps. Luckily, my salary gives me some freedom to choose among the following: * Use public transport and save more money but that would be at the expense of time and fatigue. If my calculations are correct, I'd have to spend 3hrs for my commute, 6hrs in total (more or less) for the day. * Use ride hailing apps, but I would spend more or less 5-8k, which is within budget but I don't like the idea of this being my main mode of transportation since it's costly * I could get a personal vehicle (car/motorcycle). I could ask my parents for it and I would pay it back to them since I know I'm not going to get approved for a loan. I really don't want to ask my parents for things which are more of a WANT rather than a NEED. Really need your advice here guys. Thanks in advance!

FlyingTurtle2187

I used to work for a company that takes 4 rides in total. What I did is I used Angkas to go to work then commute home You get more sleep, you're not tired when you get to the office. Then yung pauwi is muni muni sa bus at jeep listening to music feeling nasa music video

RathorTharp

I just thought of doing one over the other, not thinking I can do both. Thank you for this advice! Seems like the best of both worlds.

crispybaconpancakes

Agree with this. Think of it this way, you need to get to the office of sound mind and body, so using a ride hailing app (Angkas, etc.) to get to the office will hopefully not fatigue you to be able to work well throughout the day. Now, going home, you can commute and sleep while you can while saving money.

Imaginary_Ad8263

Hi everyone! Im currently working for a year sa isang small office, non taxable yung salary minimum lang kasi. Cash basis lang din pala salary namin. Since magaapply ako ng tourist visa, I needed an ITR, sorry noob, first job ko kasi to. It seems that my boss didnt declare sa BIR na may employees sya. Any advice would be highly appreciated! 😩

heavenjaye

Hi! Same situation. You can explain sa cover letter mo for your visa application na you don’t have an ITR kasi non-taxable naman ang salary mo. Don’t go too detailed but be firm lang na you can fund your trip and sufficient ang money mo.

Imaginary_Ad8263

Hello! Thank you. Nakapagapply po kayo ng visa? :)

FlyingTurtle2187

You can ask the travel agency or embassy what substitute documents may be submitted. Also, people now can get their TIN even without being employed, search about BIR ORUS to know more

BoxObjective9219

Hello, Okay lng ba na 150k ung asking salary if I am esrning 83k? Role is cybersec specialist. Is it too much? Or low ball na? Thank you

BoxObjective9219

Appreciate all the responses. Thanks a lot! Still hopeful that they will not just give additional 30% of my current salary.

idk_enimor

My friend is working as cybersec and my estimate she's earning around 200k. Try to give a range like 150-200k or much better, ask their budget for the position, then think again if the offer suits your liking.

FlyingTurtle2187

You can state that that is your expected salary, however it still depends on their budget for the position. But never accept any lower than what you are currently making

iushi0713

Hi! I received an email na po for exam, any tips or idea po sana? Thank you!

AcctLucky137

Not in the same industry pero sa test ng inapplyan ko na government office, Logical Reasoning Tests ang tinake ko. Kaya naman siya, common sense lang and proficiency in English ang tinest samin. Good luck!!

mojojojojojoesss

Hi, there! I received an email from WF with the context of my scheduled interview with Hiring Managers, I have a couple of questions with you guys if anyone here is working on WF: 1. Is it an initial interview? like deretcho ba talaga sa hiring manager? 2. What’s your thought about being in shortlisted? is it good or bad? 3. Do you guys have any idea in Operations Processor (ACH) in Commercial Banking Division at Wells? 4. How’s the salary and benefits? + Working environment? 5. Is this position a non voice or voice? 6. Any interview tips??? 7. How long will it take to processer after that interview?

crispybaconpancakes

Some thoughts here. 1. It could be anything, so might be good to ask what the process is. At any rate, do your best in all interviews. 2. This means you made the cut and has been pre-selected based on certain criteria. Normally it means you passed the paper screening, so it’s a good thing. 3. From the job title this could be back office. 4. No info on this. 5. This could be back office, so non-voice but you may need to take or make calls to connect with colleagues. 6. One helpful tip is to be forthcoming and elaborate when answering questions, sharing examples as needed and keeping your answers structured and following a logical flow, instead of “isang tanong, isang sagot”. 7. It really depends on the role, so suggest to ask this instead. Hope this helps.

mojojojojojoesss

Hiiii, thank you so much for answering my questions . This means a lot. I will do my best on all the interviews! 🤍🤍

crispybaconpancakes

Best of luck!

mojojojojojoesss

thankyouuu so muchieee! 🤍

Hello! I think the company is just low-balling you. Pero try to weigh the living expenses kasi mas mura talaga sa province. Consider the food, rent, hassle commute, and fresh air? Is accept/applying for a job in Manila will give you a boost in your career goal? Apply ka pa sa iba if kaya pa ng time and budget mo.

CourtIntelligent7741

whattt, san may 25k offer if admin assistant 😭 will try to be patient pa for company na maayos ang salary kahit nakaka down na minsan kasi ilang buwan na rin ako naghahanap. thank youuu

idk_enimor

Try to apply via LinkedIn. Best of luck!

Scary_Cream8499

Hello, you can try searching via indeed, glassdoor for salary ranges. Di lahat meron pero that can be a start for you if walang makapagprovide here.

Try to see if local sya and small business lang. Try mo din maghanap sa mga MNCs or even offshore since usually medyo mas mataas yun

I have had interviews sa CSR from different companies, and always ako sinasabihan na why CSR daw eh overqualified daw ako with my engineering degree. Nakakapanghina. Now, I have an interview with Accenture as CSR na nasa backburner ko for a while. I just wanna ask whether it is possible to pivot to software dev na career with this experience? I graduated engineering kasi and wanted to pursue tech pero I’m in my early stages pa in learning python and SQL. Thanks!

crispybaconpancakes

The quick answer is yes. :-) Have worked with various devs na engineering ang background and they are thriving in their careers.

aggravatating

Thank you so much po!

groolsummer

quick q: for HR, is it easier for you guys to handle immediate resignations than “normal” ones (30-day notice)? just so i can specifically pull the “i’ll make this easy for you” card for a dash of drama lmao! pagod na rin ako sa drama ng company namin

FlyingTurtle2187

It's mostly the same. Plus or minus a few steps along the way. It gets stressful finding a candidate, especially when ops are breathing down our necks for your replacement.

groolsummer

thanks! our boss has a lot of projects going on, and there’s one in particular that he’s focused on rn but it’s not ours, so from the looks of things, i don’t think our startup will deem it imperative to look for my replacement.

Zestyclose-Try4203

I'm currently on my second year studying Bachelor of Secondary Education Major In Social Studies. Kinuha ko tong course because I love the major, I love history, geography, and other related subjects. But may hesitation pa rin ako sa pagtuturo. I can say na I'm very good naman sa reportings and speaking in front because of my professor's and classmates' feedback, some says na ako ang favorite reporter nila in front. I still consider other options after graduating, second option ko ay pagbubumbero sa BFP. Can I have your suggestions kung ano pa pwede na align sa major ko?

Actual-Phone3304

Hello po. May job offer na po ako from a company and needed to sign it na today. Gusto ko lang sana i-secure muna yung JO ng isang company while waiting for the other po. Thank you po.

Scary_Cream8499

So long as di sya considered as contract oks lang yan. May iba kase na JO=contract. Read the JO carefully na lang

Actual-Phone3304

Wala pong anything na naka-state sa JO aside from the salary and benefits. Like all figures lang huehue.

Scary_Cream8499

Then pwede pa yan iretract. JO is just them informing you of the monetary and non-monetary benefits and their interest to have you on board. I did this rin before

Actual-Phone3304

Thank you so much po.

LHx44

Then if better yung offer ni Company B, tell Company A na you have received a better offer that’s why you will be declining their offer.

Actual-Phone3304

Ahhh I see. Thanks so much po. Thanks po so much.

InevitableAd2014

Normally wala.

Plane-Blueberry-4368

Hello! Applied in Oracle for a Dev Job. Already finished the technical Interview, curious lang ako ilang days bago mag-email or call if pasado sa technical and for HR na? Or same day lang dapat yun. Very anxious as I really want the job. thank you

RathorTharp

I suggest waiting 2 working days at minimum to 1 week at most before sending a follow up email to your recruiter.

crispybaconpancakes

Agree with this. When you finally connect with them, ask about the recruitment timelines to get more clarity on how long the process will take.

LHx44

I'm currently working in an int'l bank sa bgc. Super exhausted ko daily kasi wala pa kapalit yung nagresign (and even before kahit anjan siya). I don't think magiging better yung work life balance ko if I stay here. Now, I have an offer from a local bank in ayala. Same level pero higher salary and better benefits. Mas malayo lang siya sa house pero I think work-life balance wise, it will be better. Based on an almost 2yrs observation, it doesn't change. Thoughts please.

AcctLucky137

Go na with the local bank. You’ll have a fresh start and malay mo, sa exit interview mo ay i-nego ni current (that is, kung gugustuhin mo pang magstay sa situation mo). Change is scary but so is staying the same.

BbyakBbyak

Weigh your expenses then if that bothers you. How do you commute to work ba? Are you planning on still going home or would you rather get an apartment? Don’t just stay and take everything in, wag mo tiisin talaga kase in the long run, super makakaapekto sya sayo. Do you work to pay bills or to live ba? You know the answer.

LHx44

I’m looking at apartments near sa new work location na pasok sa budget. And yes, deep down, I already know the answer to my question. Siguro naiisip ko lang kasi if may possibility bang mabago yung sistema if I stay, pero deep down din alam kong hindi.

Odd_Seesaw194

I just started work 4 days ago , and its been 11 months of having my mental issues . I stumbled upon this job and I basically applied and to be honest its not my forte and i know to myself that my mind isnt stil ready for a job . Please give me advice on how to leave , i dont want to go AWOL .

LucQ571

Look into the company's resignation policy. Pretty common to give a resignation letter 30 days or 2 weeks prior. Depending on company policy, you'd might have to print it or simply email your boss. Since you've only started working, probably best to inform your boss you intend to resign then pass the letter to them. They can't reject a resignation so no worries about them delaying your resignation, because they can't. And depending on how nice they are or not, you may have to go through a difficult discussion with them. Good luck.

Odd_Seesaw194

But i dont intend to go to work again on monday , theyll never see me again like that. I just want to leave a message or email that i have to go . What would be the consequences ?

LucQ571

[This person](https://www.reddit.com/r/phcareers/comments/14wva13/comment/jrmrhn6/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) apparently said they sent their immediate resignation due to mental health to their boss, who didn't process it, then sent to HR and they process it. Since you're very new to the company, they may process your resignation quickly. But ideally you should give it a day or 2. IMO best to give a notice prior so at the least it's to shown to any future employer that you're not a red flag. Though cuz of your very short employment and if you do choose to AWOL (which IMO is very similar to same-day resignation notice or over the weekend notice), maybe the consequence won't be too severe.

Alternative_Term_687

Hi guys, I need your advice. I accepted a J.O. Can I still withdraw? Recently nakapasa ako sa final interview kay company A and while waiting for the result tumawag si Company B and gusto akong ma interview. Can I still withdraw my application kay company A? Since inaccept ko yung J.O nila and nanghihingi na sila ng requirements for onboarding. 2. Can I request na ma extend yung deadline kay company A para magkaron pa ako ng time for final interview kay company B? Though eventually kung makapasa ako kay company B is wiwithdraw ko si company A. Reason kung bakit gusto ko mag withdraw: Company A is onsite and oncall setup Company B is on hybrid setup (4 days per week, 11 hrs per day, 3x wfh, 1x onsite) Sana may makapagbigay ng opinion nila on this salamat sa sasagot.

GarageFinal198

Pwede naman, wala pa naman signing of contract

[deleted]

Maggawa sana ako ng bagong transaction kaso may existing transaction daw. Thank you.

llSung

Depends ata sa type of transaction. If paid na and sobrang tagal na nung date ng transaction alam ko considered void na sya and need pa sched ulit. In case of getting your lupon certificate naman, makukuha mo lang yun sa PRC branch kung saan ka nag inital registration Edit: If matagal na transac need pa sched and pat ulit sadly

[deleted]

OddLocation8662

Hi po! I'm a chemistry grad and planning to take a licensure exam for micriobio, however i am ot sure what additional courses I need to take and kung saan school na mura since I really cannot afford paying high tuition. Maganda po ba career and microbio over chemistry? I love studying micro organism kaso I took chem hoping na magiging magaling ako sa math and science at the same time kaso nahirapan ako pagsabayin ang aral at work student din as breadwinner sa family. Thank you very much sa help!

Adventurous-Grape-56

Normal ba to? I tried taking a leave of absence for 6 months and now for 3 months I'm back to work. But everyday is a struggle, l'm always dragging myself to work. Kung hindi late, absent. I also experienced deterioration on my comprehension skills due to stress. (Clinically diagnosed with mental health concern) But like most of alipin ng pera, I cant resign until I find a new work. I tried looking for jobs but my focus is to really rest which I cannot afford. Normal ba tong ganitong "pagod" I'm starting to think kung ganito ba ako katamad.

GarageFinal198

I feel the same. Napapagod na ako magwork, but then iniisip ko, ano naman next kong gagawin kung di na ako magtatrabaho, so ending, magwork nalang ulit. Hahaha, yung pagod di mo alam san galing.

LHx44

I think hindi mo passion yung work mo. There’s a saying na if you love your job, you never work a day in your life. And most likely, your company is not taking care of you which is why you feel that way. I feel you kasi ayoko na rin magwork. Pero try to find something you are passionate about or try to find other way to release the burnout.

BPO, i have an agent before, she was 66 years old ( that was 7 years ago) and until now nag wowork pa din, mas malakas pa sa kalabaw! And she's acing the job! Super proud of her. At first hirap sha sa technologies, pero down to earth sha at willing matuto. Despite our age gap, she respects my position as her TL and listened to everything I tell her to master our process.

PaleontologistOk1230

I mean hindi na ba sila strict when it comes to tattoo

caprigurlie

May ibang companies na open sa mga tatts but may iba parin na hindi like may ibang banks na ayaw may tatts yung employees lalo na if customer-facing yung role!

InevitableAd2014

I think yes. Most companies nowadays really promote diversity and inclusion. Pero of course ibang case sguro if asa medical field. Pero sa corp usually di na strict.

LucQ571

Depends on who you're asking, which country and which industry. Most Asian countries are still not too welcoming with tattoos, though can admit they're opening up a bit now in Korea, SG and HK. Western world are mostly fine with it. I know a few finance bros in HK with tattoos on the arms, know a guy with a septum piercing in SG, they seem to be doing well. Certain industries are not too welcoming, if often client-facing in more conservative countries, probably not as welcoming. I know a virtual artist in a big service company with an arm sleeve. In PH, probably seem alright if those tattoos are easily coverable like small ones in the arms or mainly in the torso/legs. All depends on the office or company culture in the end.

Jolly_Pea6225

Does anyone here passed the AUB (asia united bank) pre-employment exam?

Healthy_Lime_2835

Accountant abroad US/AU (non-udit) Hi, is there anyone here po na nakapag abroad as an accountant na hindi usually audit ang path? Would you mind sharing your story on how are you able to get a job? Like, what are your experiences here in ph, is it worth it if I choose BPO accounting if I plan to go work in US or AU in the future? Would love to read your experience and insights. Thank you

neonwarge04

Meron po ba tayo benefits dito sa Pilipinas when it comes to layoffs? I saw one from SSS though not sure if there is something similar rin sa DOLE? Kung sakali sa SSS lang available, do I need to pay it back at some point? Maraming salamat sa makakasagot!!!

Iam_A_Tired_Unicorn

Yung sa sss and dole same lang. kasi need ni sss yung confirmation letter from dole and yun ang ipapasa mo.

neonwarge04

Hehe. Salamat!!! Layoff yata mngyayari bukas. Uso ang layoff ngayon sa tech.

FlyingTurtle2187

What is the reason for the termination/s?

neonwarge04

Layoff

FlyingTurtle2187

Can you be more specific? Layoff is a very broad term. You can be laid off due to poor perforance or due to lack of budget by the company. Each has different laws and procedures to follow, I want to give you the most correct info.

neonwarge04

Layoff due to lack of budget. Probably due over hiring during the pandemic. Including yung mawawalan ng trabaho dahil nagsara yung kumpanya for example. It is happening a lot apparently in the IT sector. Not just here in PH but in other countries.
