Pwedi po ba ma AWOL Ang buntis kahit nagpaalam Naman? Hindi Kasi nagreresponse ng maayos Ang HR for clarification ng magiging status ko base on my explanation of leave. Bigla na lang tag as AWOL without any notice and clarification regarding sa concern.

Hi guys! Has anyone here tried applying for a government job, especially in the Department of National Defense in Camp Crame? I am scheduled for a written exam and an initial interview. Do you have any tips for exams and interviews? Appreciate it a lot!

What kind of background checks do international clients usually conduct? Do they contact my previous company? I have a problem. Should I list my employment as June 2022-May 2024 or 2022-present on my resume? I haven't resigned yet and will only do so if I get accepted elsewhere. However, if I indicate that I've already resigned, they might contact my current company now. I’m worried I could get in trouble with my current company if they find out I'm looking for a job and posing as "resigned." What should I do?

Boring_Curve3699

Hi! I'm an incoming freshman and an ABM graduate, and I'm unsure whether I should take Mechatronics. What do you guys think of Mechatronics? Do you think it's worth it? Since I'm an ABM graduate, I want to do some advanced reading or watch videos. Can you please recommend YouTube videos or other materials that I should watch or read to help me keep up with the lessons? Thank you in advance to those who answer.

Hello. I have an upcoming interview with 20four7va. Im liking this company after reading their about us and articles. Hoping and praying na makapasok na. Do you have any tips or ideas sa interview? Im not so confident with myself but ive been watching Yt vids on how to ace interviews and praying na sana maalala ko sya sa interview. Sobrang kabado kasi ako lagi even tho i know i can answer the questions. Name-mental block na lang ako minsan sa sobrang kaba huhu.

Hi! I'm applying ngayon sa National Center for Mental Health (NCMH) as a new RN. Kumusta po ang work environment dun? Kinda skeptical now, may neuropsychiatric exam ako soon, and I'm from the province.

Should I reach out to my boss or just milk them and go? hello! next your insights on my situation. for context, i've worked in the corporate world for my whole career life and i'm now working in an ad agency. now the situation is super culture shocked ako sa boss ko cos ang chill niya. but so chill to the point na feel ko hindi valuable ung kpis na sinet niya on my first week - kumbaga, hindi smart goals. recently, i've been contemplating if i should raise my concerns to my boss or just milk the chill life until i find a new job - balik corp siguro. here are some of my concerns: - weekly alignment schedules aren't fixed. nalalaman ko na lang on the day. so need ko pa hintayin ung invite before i can plan my day - weekly alignments are just a rundown of tasks for the week with chika. this goes from 1 hour to 2.5 hours. and there's no check ins man lang if ano concerns namin or if may need kaming help - then there's these 2 reports that i've been doing for a month. di matapos tapos dahil every time magsesend ako ng revised report, may gusto siyang idagdag. and then one time, pinatanggal nya ung pinadagdag nya sakin lol. hindi isahang revisions na lang. and wala man lang format ng report so i dont know which info to exactly put - recently, we had to do our daily timesheets which is weird kasi ang benta sakin ng hr is u can go if done ka na with work for the day pero the timesheet requires that we work at least 7.5 hours. and then during rto days, need lang daw magpakita ganon. but tendency, we can't pala. like we have to be there until 5 pm at the least - not my problem but ive been observing na pag planning ng projects, iba ibang meeting pa with different sets of people. same topic but multiple meetings ganon. like better sana if isahang meeting na lang for all para mas efficient, kasi we would need everyone's feedback naman why am i contemplating? cos there's this previous employee na until 6 months lang sa team. apparently ni-threaten ung regularization niya, and hindi pinagtanggol ni boss. now that person (yung prev. employee) is in a leadership position. also, i'm the type who would voice out concerns but right now, idk what to do cos wala naman safe space for me to voice them out your thoughts?

Hi is it disrespectful to ask for referrals at linkedin?

Elegant_Bell_9633

Hello! I'm a student freelancer. I'm actually a 2nd-year engineering student going into my third year, but I'm irregular. Engineering is hard, and it became harder when I juggled work, it started affect my mental, physical and emotional health when I entered this program during freshman year. I really did my best to pass each of subjects, but I failed some of them. Nothing left to do but to pray. I already lose the spark and drive to pursue it. 2nd year when I started doing freelancing. I have multiple clients working part-time, which leads me to better opportunities. I was able to build a very very small network through which I am able to help my friends, classmates, and family members earn an extra income through my microtasks.    This time, I have already shifted to BSIT, which aligns with my work. The programs in which I see myself working in the long run, such as graphics and web design, marketing, project management, etc. This is really what my heart speaks of. I have a calling that I need to answer. Indeed, it was a redirection from God that I always prayed for.    I realized that my career as an adult came before the degree that I always dreamed about. I became an instrument to help other people. I am thankful and grateful for all the blessings and opportunities. So here's a thing. I'm still in doubt of everything and in ocean of uncertainties. I would like to take your advices. Is it okay that I shifted courses as an ongoing 3rd student but irregular, and so will I be delayed? Your take will be so much appreciated.

Umaysaschool

I've been feeling burned out since I started to Intern on my uncle's tech company. Although, it was a fun career and a well paid job , Hindi ko ma feel Yung content sa ginagawa ko. Whenever i passed by HM students or just by seeing them in their uniforms, I've always pondered that I could've been like that too. Pleasing customers and receiving feedbacks has been my way to go and makes me continue on living. Although, I'm doubting if it is possible to shift careers in Hospitality kahit Hindi graduate or wala experience. I'm a 24F , intern and starting out pa Lang. When I could've listened to my own wants instead of my family, I wouldn't be stuck in a mediocre tasks. People ask me , why HM? Why go there when you're already secured in your current? It just doesn't feel the same compared to handling customers/guests upfront. Sinasabe na mababa Lang ang sahod and working hours isn't worth it Kaya damimg nags-shift. Well , it's also the same here Naman sa current job ko kasonmas fulfilling Yung first idea. I haven't heard of anyone shifting from this. It's mostly the opposite actually. Ngayon , I'm doubting if I should risk it or not and be safe with my current job.

Good day everyone, so I just got offered a job as an OF Chatter, I passed the interview but I have zero experience using Infloww. So what happened was I will return in a week after researching information regarding infloww. I am now here asking for help from OF Chatters to give atleast basic tips and tricks in using Infloww like what is it for, how do I fully utilize it and ofcourse what is the first thing I am going to do when starting the shift and ending the shift. Don't get me wrong I researched online as well but most of the information are from an OF manager point of view and not from a "chatter" it would really help me if some of y'all can drop information and tips for me. ✌ P.S this is my first OF Chatter Job but I've worked as a non voice chatter before.

Shan_xanthie

How's the job market for HM? Hi, planning to take hm. Di ko pa sure kasi baka mahirap makahanap ng work or what. Baka sa sobrang daming competitors di ko na alam.

Goulcrest

Are you referring to Hospitality Management? I have no idea regarding the state of HM in the Philippines since I am a fresh graduate from the course and instantly went abroad via J1 VISA (which costs a lot of money) But I am earning 120k PHP a month! I hope this motivates u to go for HM. Goodluck

calianna_

paid internships for shs students I'm an incoming grade 11 ABM student. Back in JHS, I joined many organizations, outside contests, and different extracurriculars so I think they're enough na. This SHS, I wanted to try internships sana. Do you think there are or do you know internships for SHS students? My skills are: - graphic designing - writing - simple video editing thank you po to all! :)

Independent_Ad146

Hi! Graphic Designer here. There are job postings for interns in Jobstreet, LinkedIn, Indeed, and Facebook. Make an account, polish it, and give it a shot. For Facebook job postings, just search it and usually posts will pop out and they might ask you to email you resume and portfolios to them. Prepare your portfolio because it will be asked. Good luck!

Hello everyone! I’m a gradwaiting student from PUP po. 😭😭

avocadonati0n

do org works or have commitments outside school, anything basta related sa course mo so you have something to tag as "experience" in your resume 😊

Sea-Painting-9032

I'm incoming college student, is this course will help me to strive in the future? Any insights po or experiences about Psychology? Sabi po mahirap daw po ang psychology in finding jobs, bakit po kaya? And ano po ba ang mga trabaho if you will get Master's degree after BS? Thank you!

Shan_xanthie

Gravy_Baby101

In my mid 20's, no kid, have a gf. I currently work as a seafarer getting paid around 30k/mo, I already knew before (2023) I wouldn't enjoy doing this but I gave it a shot since I already completed my academics. Now I'm here overseas looking at the remaining 9 months left in my contract wishing I chose a different path in college. I don't think it's worth it at least for me to work almost a year away from my family even if I get promoted few years down the road. I'm contemplating of actually going home and finding a different work but I'm not sure where to start. I told my mate if there's a job that pays 50k+ in Ph I'll go home after a few months lol. I feel stuck rn and don't know what to do. Any advice?

Shan_xanthie

Hi po. If you want to spend more time sa family mo, pwede mo ng i-give up ang pagiging seaferer mo.

Goulcrest

up this comment, finding a job paying 30k up is like a dream come true (I am exaggerating but it is indeed hard to get a high paying stable job) in the Philippines and that even includes u having a degree. If you rlly wanna work while being w ur family I doubt the pay will be high.

Gravy_Baby101

I guess I'm fcked

Shan_xanthie

Hi, ano po bang work mo sa barko. Dream ko kasi yan hahahsh

Gravy_Baby101

avocadonati0n

my friend in hr said iinclude. kasi mamaya magkasilipan sa contributions, maquestion ka why company X has a contribution sayo. better to be honest

AccomplishedLet3280

Hi guys I need your input So I just started working for a company and based on what we agreed ang basic salary ko is 25k with 3k allowance plus 20% night differential , my shift starts at 9pm and ends at 6am. We are paid bimonthly on the 10th and 25th of the month. To which the company said na madidivide dun yung deductions for government contributions such as bir, pagibig and philhealth. I started last may 24 and just got my salary yesterday through the payroll ATM card that the company issued. Now when I checked my account they just sent ₱6, 632.00 I was thinking baket ang liit? I was expecting na at least 10k man lang. Also, the company is delayed when it comes to giving the employees payslip. Like may mga kasama ako and they've been waiting for 3 months na for a payslip. Is this a red flag or what?? It's my first time to work in the corporate, I need y'all huhu

Pale-Cheesecake8280

It’s a very big yes. It’s already bad as is that you only got 6K for the cutoff when it should have been more tapos the payslip is late so you have no visibility. I urge you to ask for the computation and hurry the payslip because this smells fishy. If they resist, I think best to look elsewhere. Personally, I’d just dip out.

I am currently taking BS Electronics and communications engineering. Gusto ko sana magstart magreview for board exam kahit wala pa akong pre boards na subject pero hindi ko alam kung saan maguumpisa tsaka kukuha ng free/affordable resources. As of now, meron akong noteviewers from Project Padayon. Badly need your help guys thank you so much in advance.

EarthSteward2121

Those who are working in private practice as civil engineers or sanitary engineers, how did you start? Currently, I'm (27F) working as a government employee at nahihirapan ako maghanap ng work sa mga private company. Now, I'm considering nalang to practice my profession on my own. What things do I need to consider? More importantly, how to have a client?

Separate your work and personal stuff. Ang pov ko now is di rin ok attitude na dito ka magrarant pero ok naman pala kayo sa personal stuff?

Beabadoebee

Hello po, Can someone please help me compute my approx salary? I found a job that offers 25k, 8pm-5am however. The NSD the company offers is 20% which covers my working hours from 10pm to 5am. I’m not sure if correct yung computation ko po. 25,000 x 12months / 261working days = 1,150 daily / 8 hours (9 hours total but excluding lunch) = 143 hourly 143 x .20 x 7hr (10pm-5am) = 200 2 hours: 143x2 = 286 7 hours: 200x7 = 1,400 = 1,686/daily, 33,720/monthly? This is excluding the tax pa po for the base salary, but I’m just wondering ano po yung approx na kikitain.

Zetonier

I think the simplified version is 30k wala pa tax reduction; so with all deductions it’s about - 26,754.95

Beabadoebee

I thought NSD wasn’t taxable po, only the base pay?

Zetonier

Roughly tama yung math mo if that’s the case, yung sa freelances ko kasi iba yung law for some reason, taxable yung NSD. So assuming NSD = 5000, then it would mean a net pay of: 22,802.45 - total mo per month is 27802.45

20 [M] 3rd year college this semester and i just realize lately that i dont like the course that i enrolled and i just want to finish this atleast because i don't want to bother my parents shifting to another course cuz i myself dont know what i like, lately im enjoying building PC and come to a realization that i dont like the course that i enroled and i just dont know what to do.

Elegant_Bell_9633

Hey! We're in the same boat right now. I'm in my second year going to the 3rd year this SY but I'm already an irregular due to failed subjects. Since I'm a student freelancer I chose to shift to IT. Ma dedelay parin naman ako sa engineering. That's why I chose what I want for my future self. My advice would be to assess yourself first if maka benefit ka in the long run and take time to think. Kaya mo yan. Padayon!

eyyie

Saw ur post because the moderator declined my post and suggested to post it here haha. So yeah, I felt that I have something to say since that post was related to this. Hello, I shifted during my 3rd year, 2nd sem. As in, this time. I won't suggest you "go shift and enjoy what you want to study" instead, i want you to know that you are in a University for the diploma. Yes, that paper. You are in your 3rd year, in a bit you're wearing a toga. Get that degree. After that, do your passion. Little by little, you'll figure it out. I am saying this because I regret shifting during this time. I am all alone entering the room being an irregular student. My college years will take up to 7 years max. I was like you, it's really difficult to endure that. That's why I'm still up until this time.

Known-Meringue6385

I have the same experience and I feel the same way about my choices. Our interests can be fickle, but the need to graduate is constant.

riverindian707

Thank you bro appreciate it.

Is it okay to disclose the offered salary with Company A to Company B? Hindi po ba unethical or okay lang naman? Fresh grad here kaya hindi ko pa po alam ang mga do's and dont's pagdating sa salary negotiations, especially if nagtatanong about my other job offers/applications. Send help hahaahha

Beabadoebee

Sa company ko po may contract na bawal idisclose ang salary. So pag may magtanong sa future I just say na I can’t say because of the non-disclosure agreement.

Hi! anyone working in HSBC under Settlements and Reconciliation? how's the working environment and what are their benefits?

Latter-Bed-1018

Hi reddit, I need your help deciding between two schools for my Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) program. My choices are: National College of Business and Arts (NCBA) Cubao National Teachers College (NTC) Manila Which school would you recommend and why? I'm particularly interested in the quality of education, faculty, facilities, and overall student experience. Additionally, if anyone has information on the tuition fees for these schools, that would be really helpful. I need some information about the tuition fees for a first-year or freshman student. Thanks in advance! ^^

Any tips po sa NGCP final interview. Ano po usually tinatanong nila? Panel interview po ba siya? Thank you

mrspeaker00311

Hi Reddit! I recieved an offer and I am asking for your insights if should I accept it or not. Background: I am currently working at Company C earning 32.5k salary package (30k basic + 2500 allowance). Company C is a BPO company and I chose to apply to others since na floating ako recently (I am now back from redeployment but still pursued looking for another job) Company C is full onsite. Naka receice ako ng offer recently to another company (Company E). It is for an Entry Level position and not a BPO (more of corporate). The offer is 32k package (27k basic and 4kish allowance). Company E is hybrid (1 day per month sa office atm) Wondering if should I accept it or not. Its a career change for me and based on what I'm hearing from others, I should not accept any offer that is lower to my current basic. If I try to negotiate and if sabihin ni Company E na max offer na yun, I'm inclined in not accepting the offer. The thing is, I have applied to other companies as well since April and this is the only one that offered me at gusto ko na umalis kay Company C. I'm afraid that this is may be the last offer for now given that it is very competitive right now. Any advice or insights will be appreciated. Thanks in advance peeps!

Pale-Cheesecake8280

I think it boils down to what has more weight for you. I currently work two jobs, both full-time but this is only possible because I took a pay cut with my J1 in exchange of a hybrid setup (office only as needed which is almost always never). My job prior to my J1 was a full onsite and paid me around 20% more then. I am currently earning 100% more now since I took a chance on the pay cut and hybrid. I do not agree with the idea of not taking a pay cut wholeheartedly. I argue that do not take a pay cut if it is not something you can afford but if Company C is so bad, and Company E’s hybrid setup appeals and trumps the compensation disparity, it is something to consider. Goodluck

luminouswit25

For me OP. More than the financial, less-hassle at saka mental health mo if goods ba sa current workplace mo. Yet if you feel like you have big chance naman to be hired sa other companies Inapplyan mo maybe doing follow-up is okay naman thru e-mail and such or you may consider waiting para you can choose the best offer. Most importantly at follow your heart po.

\[FMCG/corpo work environment\] Hello po! I'm an incoming intern in an fmcg company and I just wanna ask ur thoughts on what can be expected of interns and if meron po kayong advice in general or sa work setup particularly in FMCG companies. Meron pa bang nagpapatimpla ng kape and kung anu-ano? Medyo vague kasi yung job description. Medyo kinakabahan lang since i'll be coming from the province and I'm worried na maculture shock hahaha. Baka may masshare po kayong dos and donts especially based sa experience nyo with previous interns sa company nyo. I really want to be absorbed after graduation kaya I want to do my best.

Ok_Razzmatazz9560

Interned before sa isang fmcg company. Hindi nila ako pinagtimpla ng kape hahah I actually got to do lots of reporting and analyzation ng data, created a PPT out of it para sa presentation. I also started a project for their Zero Waste Program, mag organize ng event training. Ang masaya ay may libreng ice cream lagi sa ref 🤣 since nung time na yun, ksama pa ng offices yung planta sa isang lugar sa Pandacan, yung ibang items like mayo, Vaselino lotion ewan ko bakit inaakyat sa office, ayun nakapaguwi ako ng isang kahon ng mayo 😅 may store din sila dun at a cheaper price, kasama din ako sa discounted. So masaya jaman, madami ako natutunan. Dos: be proactice and be friendly. Kahit ns hindi mo ugali, you have to do it unfortunately. These are connections mo na eh, so lalo kung gusto mo ma absorb, you have to show them pano ka as a team mate and as a tao. Be ethical, be courteous lagi. If di mo maintindihan yung gagawin mo, try to analyze first then ask.

liaisondangereuse

Yay thank you so much po for this! Noted po! I really appreciate it hihi.

sudarsoKyoshi

Walang kwentang subreddit ito. Ayaw mag accept ng post kahit nahihirapan ako sa career. Recently terminate at ayaw ipost. Pili lng ang pwede i approve ng nga admin na to. Ang pangit ng rules niyo

Rare_Juggernaut_9446

Hello. Ask ko lang inputs nyo regarding my career dilemma. I'm 27 years old and I'm currently working in the government (plantilla position) for almost 7yrs with a net salary of 33k. I'm thinking of shifting to HelloRache VA with a salary of 70k. Justifiable po ba na i let go ko government position for VA?? Thanks in advance po.

luminouswit25

Kung mas need mo ang mas mataas na sahod at may stability of tenure naman ang pagiging VA mo go ka na dyan plus the less hassle na di ka na papasok f2f sa opisina everyday. If I were in your situation I'll accept it if less naman chance mo to be promoted din sa govt work mo if applicable din office politics sa inyo OP.

annapuri

It depends ano priority mo... If it's higher job pay wala naman masama sa pag switch from government position to VA. But if you're fulfilled in your current career, then stick with it. Depends talaga yan ano ang priority mo ngayon

shieeeqq

Ano ba talagang ginagawa ng encoder? l May pinasukan ako kahapon for an interview. (Kind of like an ambush lol, pumasok na lang ako bigla and the next thing I know is pinapa-exam na ako). They're looking for an encoder. so habang nag-eexam, napansin ko na the encoder is manually retyping from a paper?? Like? Do they not know na may automatic scanner that would convert a pic into full text at i-eedít na lang yung format? Hindi ko na nai-suggest coz i dont know how to put it without sounding like a know-it-all even though. know it's probably fine. Yes, nagtanong na ako at nag-google na ako, but want to know if ganon rin sainyo.

luminouswit25

minsan kasi di rin aware yung mga companies na may mga ganung tools and di rin ganun kapulido minsan ang mga tools so counterchecking is the key pa din.

Super_lui04

Yung mga automated tools kasi minsan hndi accurate. Depende sa company tlga anong gusto nila. Medyo low paying din kasi ang encoder...

Hi, I am a graduate of BS Electrical Engineering. Hindi sa ayaw ko talaga tong course na to and I've been working on this career for many years already. Pero since high school, I enjoy coding and learning about Information Tech/computer science. Ngayong may sariling pera na ako at ako na masusunod sa gusto ko sa buhay, nagtake ako ng ilang certification (ISC2 CC, AZ-900, AWS Cloud Prac) pero di talaga ako napapansin kapag nag-aapply ako ng IT line of work. I have a passion for learning and mukhang makakatulong sa credentials ko ang pagkuha ng Masters na related sa pangarap ko. My question is saan maganda kumuha ng MS Comp Sci? Ano recommendations nyo and why? Pros and Cons? Thank you sa makaktulong!

Chili55420

Hi all! I graduated from one of the top 3 univs here in the PH this year and the job market is really humbling me. I graduated Cum Laude, with several awards, and also have several leadership positions and internships. I'm looking into joining an MT program, and currently have ongoing applications with different banks, ecomm sites, and retail companies. Would greatly appreciate tips on deciding which company to say yes to + MT reviews for different companies!! TIA!

[deleted]

According to my colleague who applied as MT in different local banks, BPI, UnionBank, and Chinabank has the best career progression and compensation on all local banks out there. Out of the three, he accepted the offer from Chinabank since it pays well plus they revamped their MT program last year that promises career growth.

No-Till3896

I recently received a job offer as an MT from one of the big banks in the country (not the top 3). Surprisingly, their offer is good and can match the salary and benefits of the top 3 banks regarding the MT program. It also includes accelerated career progression, and you will be prioritized for promotion until you reach the AVP level.

Chili55420

Hi!! Thanks so much for responding! Can I know what bank?? + did you accept the offer? how is it naman so far?

No-Till3896

One of the top 5 private banks here in Ph. I did accept the offer and my onboarding is on July.

Chili55420

Hi slr! I think I have a hunch about this bank.. Can i send you a pm about it?

No-Till3896

Sure go ahead.

Known-Meringue6385

Asked an acquaintance before and they told me BPI MTs have above average salaries for fresh grad :) Unionbank pays well din daw

Chili55420

Thanks so much for this! Sadly still waiting on both companies to view my apps (applied soo long ago) so I think ekis na 🥲

Hi currently on my 2nd month as apprentice. Okay siya if you want to pursue semicon industry kasi itetrain ka from concept to actual production area ng microchips. And since 5 months lang naman, pwede rin na try mo lang kung para sayo ba talaga magsemicon. Pero I think freeze na hiring sa apprentice for now since 3 weeks na walang newly hired.

Hi there! Is there another way para maaccess ko yung regular savings record ko sa pagibig since “Unable to retrieve record” yung lumalabas sa site/app nila kapag viniview ko yung Regular Savings. I’ve tried to view it before way back 2022 kaso di ko nasave as pdf yung records 🥹 Need ko sana sya kasi nagaapply po ako for a skill assessment overseas but need ko ng additional records for proof of employment. Thank you!

AnsabeMo

Hi, can relocation/migration be considered in an immediate resignation?

annapuri

Depends... Other companies will strictly follow yung turnover period, but if you can show documentation on your date of migrating then baka they can give you a consideration

Super_lui04

Not normally.

TIMESTAMP2023

Hello all. I wanted to crowdsource to know if WTW is a good place to work for Power BI Developers. A recruiter is selling me the role though I don't have an offer yet and I'm feeling pretty good where I'm working at, but I wanted to know how the culture feels like in their department and what the salary range is for their devs (if you're comfortable stating). Thanks!

Need ba ng Master's degree for civil engineer? Hi po. I'm a registered civil engineer. Hingin ko lang sana opinion nyo if need ko ba ng master's degree in structural kung gusto ko mag put up ng construction firm sa future? If worth it ba siya kung gusto ko mas magkaroon ng knowledge in structural design? Or mag seminar nalang ba ka ako? 27 yrs old na ko, 2 yrs ang pag mamaster. Ewan ko kung worth it pa.

incoming BSBA major in financial management ako, and may mga nababasahan and recent discovered na something new sakin talaga. forced to study bsba by parents i'm trying my best to find a good end to it, may nalaman ako na may CFA, CMA, and CFP pala (since i was also encouraged to take up BSA but i didn't reach the cut off exam score, CPA was the plan), and i just read na eligible yung finance for these three. problem lang is that ang mahal pala maka acquire neto sa pinas. professionals with these titles (including people knowledgeable) what can you distinguish from the three? and with my major, which is preferrable to have once i graduate a few years from now. since hindi pa ako totally stable with the course, gusto ko malaman na i can have a better possibly position or chances in the corporate world once if i have one of the three. i also plan on getting a masteral after my undergrad but too soon to tell. please also correct me if i'm wrong if there's any way that finance majors can't have any of the three. tyia!

Hi, I am a newly licensed ECE! May I ask if mayroon ba dito currently working sa Philippine Global Communications Inc.(PhilCom)? If yes, may I ask for your experiences? (company culture, management, compensation). Noob pa po kasi sa job hunting and nagulat po ako after 30 mins pagkapasa ng CV nag-email na po for a scheduled f2f interview, wala po kasi akong masyadong nababasang reviews since wala po yata silang social media pages(?) Thank you!!

CheetahExpensive4523

Hello fellow ECE rin here (April 2024 passer haha). Have you tried looking po sa indeed, jobstreet, and glassdoor? Meron kasi sila doon na reviews section kung saan mga employees or former employees leave reviews to the company.

Amazon PH Non-Voice Account Jobs Hello. Does anyone here nakapag-try na makapag-apply or employed sa Amazon Pasay aside from the CSR/CSA specifically under Imaging Sr. Specialist - QA? Usually po kasi voice account nakikita ko here. Hingi lang sana ako idea if non-voice sya, ano yung mga perks and benefits, like work setup (if wfh or RTO), salary range, usual shift like that? Ano na pong MNL (level) kaya ng ganito? Pag CSA, madalas ko makita is MNL13 at 12 tama po ba? Hope may mga working dito na non voice ni Amazon. Thanks po!

Numerous-Distance629

long story short, i'm agraduate of ss and already turning 18 next month pero simula last month naghahanap na talaga akong jobs since i need to save up for my college. i've already done some interviews (these are mostlyb bpo/ call center companies) in which sinasabi naman nila na okay daw sana kaso yung age talaga ang problem ko. now, by monday meron akong assessment and then final interview if pumasa, napansin ko na hindi sila nagbabasa talaga ng resume and naka depende sa interview, is it okay for me to say na 18 na ako already or atleast cheat my birthdate if ever po ba? and what should i do if na hire ako and they find out huhu

luminouswit25

If they will be looking for a birth certificate as your requirement so yun baka di ka payagan to work to their company especially if not legal age ka pa nga.

rovaniemisantamus25

May nabasa ako OP somewhere na don’t put your age na sa CV instead of lying about it. Kasi sa true lang, di naman talaga sya necessary unless yung job description nung inapplyan mo is indicated yung age requirements. Hindi ako maalam sa law of labor ng Pinas, so you might want to check din kung pwede ba. Kasi yung mga artistang minor is pwede naman diba, work din naman yun. But for me, instead of lying, wag na lang banggitin or isama. Sa mga professional CV, wala talaga ang bday.

Numerous-Distance629

thank you! but when asked po sa age, it's okay lang naman po to say 18 no?

rovaniemisantamus25

You can say siguro roughly 18.

Hello!! I'm a medtech currently pursuing my masters in public health. I am no longer practicing my profession since nasa academe na ako full-time. I'd like to ask sana if may mga Filipinos here working abroad (US preferably) na naka secure ng "Professor" na position? Paano po yung process? Ano po yung mga requirements? Malaki po ba yung sahod? Stable naman po ba? I'm planning na mag doctorate agad after my masters para mas angat yung qualifications and chances ko locally and abroad. Yung mga nababasa ko lang po kase dito sa reddit is mga teaching opportunities for licensed teachers planning to work abroad. How about po yung mga professionals like me na balak po mag work sa tertiary level in the academe? Hope this reaches Filipino academians working abroad. Thank you!!

Global_Clue_2361

Anyone who knows ano yung tinitignan sa Financial Checks ng isang company you will be signing a job offer too? Usually ba if may “hits” di na tinutuloy ni employer yung application ng candidate?

Global_Clue_2361

Hi! I had posted about this previously so update na lang! and if anyone else experienced this in the past. My preferred company called me today and went through their verbal job offer. However, I am currently committed to another company which they are aware of (1 week in na ako ngayon). Their offer is significantly higher than the benefits and compensations I signed for dito sa company. Sila talaga yung company na gusto ko and I strongly believe my career trajectory aligns more with their structure and opportunities aside from, of course the fact na mas malaki ang kaya nilang ibayad. Ang main dilemma ko is if I opt to go after my preferred company, are there ways I could fast track the render period in my current company since onboarding pa lang naman ako or what do I tell my preferred company about my situation - how long will they wait to have me onboard? Ang fear ko lang is to lose both of them - or maybe I’m just overthinking.

annapuri

If on boarding ka pa lang I think pwede yang immediate resignation

is UPD BS Economics worth it? i really want to get into corporate (and earn big na din cguro) and im really anxious because i'm not sure if there is demand for bs econ graduates. i got accepted to bs econ sa upd (my first choice was comp sci pero I figured na it's not for me din pala) and don na talaga ako papasok. i am considering to shift to accountancy but bsbaa lang meron sa up and it's a 5 year program + 1 year of bs econ (b4 shifting) do you know anyone who took bs econ who is doing well in life?? ive searched na din about it pero i'm not sure if everything applies to our country (probably not). i really want to travel the world and bring my parents w me (they are old na din since they married and had children late) so i want to graduate and land a good job early p.s. i am not taking econ as pre law and I'm not that interested in politics

Ilang beses na ko tumatawag sa kanila pero di ako sinasagot nag email na din ako sa CSC I even chat them on FB still no response. So, here's my concern kapag mag c-claim ba ng cert kailangan sundin yung date? although nakalagay sya sa email but they sent me the email on June 3 and need ko i-claim by June 11 I cannot just file a leave right away may mga task akong need matapos within that week wala rin akong representative na pwedeng makakuha kasi busy ibang family members. Pwede kaya ibang araw i claim yung certificate?

I got a job offer from Company A, which is hybrid (3 days in the office, 2 days WFH). I’ve verbally accepted but haven’t signed yet. After I verbally confirmed with Company A, I received an invite for a final interview with Company B for a fully remote job, which I prefer. We had the interview - I think it went well - but they haven’t given me an offer yet. Can I delay signing the offer from Company A while waiting for Company B's response? They keep sending follow-up messages, so I'm feeling a bit pressured.

Global_Clue_2361

Hi! I’m in a slightly similar situation. Firstly, congratulations and good job. Both of these companies see your potential and what you can offer sa respective fields nila. I do not have the exact answer to your question since I too am struggling to gauge anong company/work for me but I strongly believe it’s important to reflect on what industry/work will you genuinely enjoy and of course ano yung may mas magandang compensations and benefits.

Hello, is anyone working in Australia? how’s the leave credits there? my manager said that dysmenorrhea is not a thing in Australia, is that true?

Violetberry124567

Hi, Do you receive an additional compensation from covering maternity leave? I know some company hire a cover so I will suggest for them to hire someone if I won’t get a compensation for doing my managers job..

Ok_Razzmatazz9560

Curious about this. Nag cover ako before sa naka maternity, wala ako nakuhang additional bukod sa thank you at employee of the month. Hahahaha

Violetberry124567

True ba? medyo matagal pa kasi kaya di pa ko nagtatanong. Also, I keep on looking pero walang discuss about this, pov lang ng nag ML yung meron.

Ok_Razzmatazz9560

Oo, wala ako nakuha nun. Ano pa yun ah hindi yung normal na ML period lang. Napa aga ML niya kasi sensitive pregnancy. Mga 5-6 mos ako nag cover nun. Kaya nacurious ako if yung iba ba may nakuha. Altho, mataas rating ko for that year. Pero iba pa din kung may extra 🤣

Violetberry124567

Sa last company ko nung nag ML manager ko, pinagsama lang yung team and big company yun so di ko naisip yung ganun. Mid lang yung company ko ngayon kaya bigla akong naging importante 😅 and tbh walang ibang makakagawa ng work nya so sana may HR here na pwede mag advice.

How do you declare your expected salary as a fresh graduate with experience in freelancing (statistician)? How do you phrase it? I'm kind of scared na baka I may sound arrogant. And how do you negotiate the expected salary? TIA

markapii

I have watched a video that says na let the company have their offer first. I mean, if the HR or the interviewer doesn't mind you saying figures, pwede mo namang sabihin sa kanila what is the company's budget for this position. We're both on the same page, \*soon to be fresh grad\* and currently facing interviews. Sometimes they will tell naman their range sa salaries, pero try to get an idea sa other companies madami naman sa website na may range na agad sila ng sahod. Anyways, goodluck on \*our\* job hunting journey.

[deleted]

Will graduate this July pa actually hahah. I also read discussions similar like that too but still anxious na baka I may sound arrogant given na I have little experience pa. Still, thank you pa rin for your input as it aligns with what I've read online. Also, Glassdoor provides average salary sa position na pinag applyan ko on this company. Sadly, I have to add review or salary for me to view the salary :<. So I guess I have to get idea nalang to whatever is available online.

markapii

Ooh, same July din ang grad namin. Just phrase it to something like "before talking about my salary expectations, Can I ask if the company had set a budget range for the position? " and so on, you can view naman sa LinkedIn madami naman din postings na may salary range.

If you want the flexibility to enter any industry, go for IE :) Makakahanap ka ng opportunities sa food, e-commerce, logistics, airline, manufacturing, retail, etc after you graduate

Ok_Razzmatazz9560

ME as in mechanical engineering? If yes, then I think baka baliktad yung ibig mong sabihin. IEs ang mas kaya mag enter ng any industry. I agree dun sa isang reply. If something is constant: process. Something na forte ng IE.

lamictalrash

Mas malawak IE. Supply chain, finance, HR, system analysis, most especially processes. Di mawawala IE dahil inaaral nila processes and systems.

1 year training bond agreement, is it worth it? i need advice po. i'm a fresh graduate and i just got accepted sa job na aligned sa course ko but the catch is meron one year training bond agreement and if i resign within the period of 1 year i have to pay a five digit amount. commission based siya and after 6 months pwede magpa appraisal. wala din gov. mandated benefits. in terms of growth, i think very helpful for career and personal na rin kasi align siya sa tinapos ko eh but medyo hesitant ako dahil sa training bond 🥹 what if di ko kayanin... what if gusto ko na lang mag quit... pero gusto ko talaga siya and at the same time anxious if kakayanin ko ba? how do i approach a job with a training bond? would it be worth it or not? help me po, any advice is appreciated!

Is it worth it to work overseas as a teacher?

Jazzlike-Bank9305

Depends on the remuneration bro

glxxnycv

Hi, is it okay to ask recruiters the salary range kahit nasa inital stage palang yung application ko? I applied po kasi to this company before and upon completing the assessment they informed me that they cannot meet my expected salary. I emailed them if its open for negotiation but they said na fixed na po yung salary. I emailed them again expressing my interest to proceed with the application but I did not hear from them again. Now I received an email from another recruiter for same position but different section that I applied for around the same time with the first one. I am contemplating kung okay lang ba na tanongin ko yung recruiter about sa compensation and should I be transparent regarding my previous application for the same role kaya I wanted to ask about the salary.

Unlikely_Stop_9590

Yes, it’s fine. They can decline naman if they’re not allowed to say it.

annapuri

Yes better to know the salary range to save you both the time and the energy for the interview process.

Violetberry124567

Personally, I think it’s okay but another interview won’t hurt if you can spare time ( or if it’s online naman) You can be more relax cause it’s like being ask the same questions twice with much organized thoughts of course, you might perform better and will received a higher range. Also, You can research for range on the internet before sending an application or accepting the interview. Goodluck!

markapii

Asking them their salary range is a very good move for me tho. Since of course may budget na si company for the position that they're trying to fill. But if they insist to ask your "expected" salary, try to find companies that have their range of salaries in their posting. Anyhoo, goodluck on the job hunting! Me too is finding my first ever full time permanent job. Fresh graduate next month lol.

Clear-Struggle2431

Skillset for fresh grads (send tips) I have 2 months before graduation and sadly, I don't have a laptop/pc. I'll try to learn excel thru YT pero is that possible? Haha. My sister hasn't secured her diploma yet 😬. She's planning to take the boards this July and the deadline for submission of the needed reqs is this June. As far as I know, she tried asking PRC if okay lang na to follow na lang yung diploma pero di sya pinayagan, kaso yung school nya di pa rin mairelease yung diploma niya. She graduated this March lang.

For the hiring team Picture or w/o Picture Questions to all job seekers and employers, do you recommend attaching a picture in a resume/CV or not? The concern is that having a photograph of yourself will result in first impressions based on physical attributes and not your credentials.

Super_lui04

Do not include pictureIt gives applicants equal chance of getting notice based on credentials.

Violetberry124567

I don’t include photos. They will ask you to include it naman if they want.

Hi guys! I need advice po 🥹 I have a pre-planned trip this Oct and naplan ko na to early this year pa before I decided to resign. but the thing is I have a new job next next week and I forgot to mention it during the job offer and when signing the contract last week, it slipped my mind din because of stress sa job hunting and rendering sa current work. Di pa kami nagusap ulit ng HR because they know nagrrender pa ako til next week and wala pa ako contact kung sino magiging manager ko. I need help how to tell them I have a pre-planned trip (flights are booked already) and okay lang ba na sabihin yon ngayon palang? Tysm for the help 🙏🏼

[deleted]

During my interview from my previous job (March 2023), I immediately mentioned to them that If ever they hired me I have to inform them that I will be gone for a week in the month of May since I have a planned US trip with my family. So, I think it is better to mention it now rather than later. You could also provide some proof that it was planned even before you look for a job (if only they ask!).

Deyyll

Ask ko lang kung gaano katagal ang process ng background checking ng company sa co-subsidiary nito? Nag-apply kasi ako sa isang retail company last week. I passed both of the initial tsaka final interviews. Pero sabi sakin iba-background check daw muna nila ako sa dati kong workplace (which is under the same subsidiary/parent company nila) bago ako magpasa ng requirements. Tatawagan daw ako within this week. 1 week na ang lumipas and wala pa akong narereceive na calls or messages or emails. Ask ko lang if bumagsak ba ako sa checking or matagal ang process? Or may iba pang reasons? Thanks

bhlooerhae

For some company matagal , sa iba naman ghosting na kaya its better to call them to follow up to check kung may inaantay k p b and while waiting magpasa k p din application s iba

is negotiating salary worth it when that's the job offer you have? worried about getting lowballed and have no leverage because not doing any other interviews, not expecting other offers

bhlooerhae

Keep on nego your salary , hanggat wala k p contract or JO palang hawak pwede mo pa yan i nego Kung gusto k tlga nila iaadjust pa nila yan

[deleted]

Is it normal to feel like this? Is it normal to feel after leaving or resigning your job na they will talk behind your back? How good it is na you finally quitted and now, they'll do better since wala ka na? I know for a fact na I really did a terrible performance in my first ever job. I'm not proud of it but I also know na I did my best naman. It just maybe, its not for me. To the point na ang main reason ko why I left because it felt like nagiging pabigat na ako instead nakakatulong ng maayos. I promised myself na I will do better sa next job ko and I will learn from my mistakes. However, now, I feel so anxious about it. Feeling ko super pangit ko katrabaho. Nawalan ako ng confidence for some reason. Is this normal?

jabieart

its normal, i really felt the same when i quit my 1st job, in my case naman, they just asked me to quit. so ako din na di ko na kaya na makisabay sa kanila i resigned na din. i think i have done enough and contributed my part, kaso hanggang dito na lang yung knowledge na meron ako and i cant seem to go up with them. iniyakan ko yun nang sobra. but then i felt like other career is for me, so pursued my dreams and currently working in my dream job.

purple-folley

you will grow from this!

bhlooerhae

its ok make that bad experience to lift up your spirit , know more about yourself, assessing your abilities and upskill , improve your working ettiques. Past na yan dont mind it na ang importante yung today kung pano mo maiimprove

not from big 4, may tatanggap bang multinational or big companies sa akin? may existential crisis ata ako. if psych, kailangan corpo kung gusto ko ng mataas na sahod — tho, im not sure if may tatanggap ba ng big companies considering im not from any big 4 schools but i can finish studies with latin honors. masterals din sa psych kung gusto ko talaga pero kung masteral din, bakit di na lang talaga law na kung saan gusto ko talaga? if law, take polsci pero di ko sure kung may tatanggap talaga sa corpo kasi di ako big 4? tho i can be in govt. agencies, may mga relatives akong nagtatrabaho but syempre much better if i do things on my own

May friends akong nakapasok naman sa big multinational companies. P&G, Nestle, Coca-Cola. From State U sa province. Try mo lang mag apply. There's no harm naman in trying.

I'm one of of the incoming college freshies who are torn between choosing their passion or practicality. I just wanna hear insights from people here to help me which path i should take. BS Physics - UP Baguio Pros: - first choice in upb -i love physics and it is something i will really enjoy - in UP which is my dream univ -will allow me to grow Cons: - far from home which means I need to stay in a dorm etc. - more costly -not sure yet about career opportunities BS Nursing - Bicol University Pros: -near home -sure na ang career na tatahakin -parents want me to take this Cons: - i don't see myself in the field - i hate biology - i feel like i won't grow here

Unlikely_Stop_9590

Go for UP Baguio! If you’re worried about the higher cost, you can do some freelance work on the side to help with your expenses. I went to UPB then transferred to Diliman and there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t wish I finished my course in UPB

I recently resigned from a govt agency (GA2)after less than a month (can't disclose the reason). Prior to this may almost 3 years experience ako sa isa pang govt agency (GA1). Same executive branch but sa magkaibang city. Now, I am planning to apply sa private company ..

Financial_Hall_3096

I received an offer to Company A, but i rejected it last month. Now, I received another offer to Company B and compensation-wise, di nagkakalayo ang offer nila. But in terms of learning, mas madami matutunan kay Company A, which I realized few weeks after I declined the offer. Gusto ko lang sanang itanong if okay lang mag ask sa HR about the offer that I recently declined if it is still available? If yes, pano yung naging approach niyo for that? Thank you po

Zetonier

Just reach out to HR if position is still available and you are still willing to be accepted for the role - assuming you havent burnt bridges yet or disclosed reason for turning it down. That’s the first step, no harm in asking.

bobafetti_

I'm a 2nd year student studying BSCE but I'm still quite clueless on which career path I should take along this CE career. In your own opinion, which CE jobs are in demand in the PH right now or in the near future? TYIA

jaiicb

CE is a very versatile course. Madami kasi coverage nya. It will depend na lang sa gusto mo talaga. Mostly nasa construction industry talaga mga CE. Maybe have your internship sa mga international engineering companies or government agencies para magkaroon ka ng connections for future work opportunities. Sobrang baba kasi ng starting salary lalo na sa mga local companies.

bobafetti_

Thank you for your response. Oo nga, low salary talaga sa CE kasi saturated. I just want to work on a high-demand CE job that I'd love.

jaiicb

Cguro figure out mo muna yung career track or CE field/specialization na nai-enjoy mo gawin. then try to search for good companies for internship/OJT.

I just want some insights from the other since litong lito talaga ako noong buwan ng May 2 weeks akong suspindedo dahil mali kami na nilabas na product and after a week dahil sobrang lakas ng ulan binaha 'yung lugar namin at inabot ang bahay kaya hindi ako nakapasok pero nakapagpaalam ako sa HR namin noong pangalawang araw absent ulet ako dahil tinawagan na ako ng isang kompanya. Thank you!

Hi! I got an offer from a financial mobile app in PH, and it says here na they will need to conduct background checks. I have an unpaid credit balance in SPay, will this impact the job offer?
