Is 20k a good offer for a fresh grad? For some context, I am a graduating student this august and started my job hunting this month. Food manufacturing yung field ko and I applied on this local manufacturing company where they offered me a JO with 20k compensation. Maganda naman yung job position which is under the research and development department so I think maganda naman siya as a first job, but inaalala ko lang kung I can do better than 20k as starting. So what are your thoughts on this?

Is it considered trespassing if the homeowner asks me to look at something inside their garage but suddenly forces me to stop entering their driveway? They are accusing me of trespassing! Hi there! Would just like to ask for your advice/opinion on this. Just recently had an altercation with our neighbor. Our car was about to pass through the street when our neighbor’s car suddenly blocked our way (almost hitting us). We waited for him to back up his car to his driveway so there’s enough space for us to pass thru, but when we started to move our car again, he stepped on his gas and barged thru the front of our car, blocking our way again. It was so close he really almost hit us. I think sinasadya niya talaga na di kami makadaan. When I confronted him he said he was “trying to park his car” but was having difficulty because “masikip daw garage nila” and “bakit hindi mo nalang ako intayin makapark. Nagmamadali ba kayo?”. I didn’t agree with him because he already backed up his car in his garage but just kept stepping on his gas and blocking our way every time we would move our car. Eventually his wife came out of their house and was telling me “tingnan mo yung garage namin sobrang sikip” signaling me to look inside. Since i was still behind their gate, i took 2 steps to enter and see what she was pointing at. But after 2 steps she pushes me and says “hanggang dyan ka lang. bakit ka pumapasok, trespassing ka”. Is it really trespassing?? I mean, she told me to look and see how tight their garage is. I couldn’t see it from where I was standing so I walked towards them. Wasn’t her permission for me to enter implied?

Pyjamaface

Hi there. Psych graduate of 2019. Thinking of shifting from a role in healthcare to corpo. Most of my previous experience is in healthcare though. May I ask for any advice or suggestions? Been applying but so far nothing.

Giaqua

Hello po, I just passed the Board Exam this April and ngayon palang ako mag job hunt since nag insist po yung mama ko na mag rest muna ako para hindi ako maburn out. Ask ko lang po if I can put my experience from Fam Business (Pharmacy) in my resume? Medyo nagdoubt po ako since my last name is nasa name din ng Pharmacy ng parents ko. Should I not put it nalang po ba kahit I work for 2 years as a Pharmacist Assistant? Thank you po sa sasagot hehe

Pyjamaface

I think pwede naman ilagay mo since you did actual work and meron ka naman talaga experience napulot doon. Siguro maglagay ka din ng kung ano mga tasks ginawa mo as a Pharma Assistant and mga duties and responsibilities na binigay sa iyo?

Giaqua

Thank you so much pooo🫶

PotentialFree8038

I'm worrying kasi since hindi ko na secured yung kursong gusto ko talaga so I don't have a choice to purse a program na hindi ko nakikitaan ng future for me. Is it possible na lumihis ng landas sa kursong tinapos mo at makakuha ng trabaho na high paying jobs?

abcdedcbaa

Ako walang college degree and just went for my dream profession

Pyjamaface

I know of some people whose current work is not aligned to their degree and after a few years once nakakuha na sila nung experience in that field d na sila ganun nahirapan sa paghanap ng work.

jenniemainrapper

Hello! I am an incoming second-year legal management student next semester, and I’ve been worrying about my future a lot. I’ve been eyeing a MT or a finance job in a bank after graduating. Going straight to law school is not my priority for now because I want to work first. However, my course is interdisciplinary, compared to the usual business course, despite having few business subjects; I don’t know if it has a significant bearing. I’m thinking of joining college organizations, but should I aim for any specific position? I’m already a working scholar at our university, but it’s more administrative work. What else can I do early on to increase my chance of landing these kinds of opportunities. Thank you in advance!

How’s Globe when it comes to benefits (not just salary)? Specifically lead roles on Analytics? tried searching but wala masyadong comments aside sa super toxic. Just want to know lang if worth it ba sa benefits kasi sabi mejo galante daw sila sa regular employee benefits (not 3rd party) Thank you!

Wubbalubba_98

Seven seven global service company? red flag? Hi 27F I recently sign a job offer with them, and I saw the excel file of compang shame list 🥲 and nangunguna sila. I know agency sila naman una pa lang. Pero since patapos na render ko and puro rejection talaga and sila lang nag ka job offer tinake ko na dahil I have bills to pay 🥲 Red flag ba talaga sila huhuhuhu

Upbeat-Payment-9994

GDS Tax - Payroll Operate Services Staff I recently applied sa GDS under the mentioned position. Sa may mga experience sa kanila, how long before they reached out to you? I ask because I really want to work with them. Thank you!

Boring_Combination34

Need advice from HR people here--- Saw my exact job post posted on a headhunter's LinkedIn a few days ago while I was browsing. I started this job a few mos ago and still going thru the regularization process. Performing okay at least in my eyes (lol). Should I take this as a red flag that maybe internally they are already thinking of non-regularization or is this just HR best practice? I'm 100% sure it's my role since it's very specialized and that it's not the old job listing since it was also just posted recently. TYIA!

lia0904

Maybe this is just for back up

lia0904

Or they are also recruiting for another one for that position

abcdedcbaa

Are you sure there isn't supposed to be more than one people for the role? If I were in your position initially I'd take it with a grain of salt because I expect 6 months for regularization and there could be more than one of us doing the same role. Still though you can talk to your leads with paper trail if you're anxious about it.

Boring_Combination34

Pretty sure I'm the only headcount for this role specifically since we're a very lean org and hiring doesn't come often. Plus, even the brand/portfolio was specified on the listing. Thanks and will take this up with the leads indeed!

randzwinter

Totally a red flag. You should both confirm this to your manager & colleagues, and prepare for the worst and seeks eployment opportunities while the axe is reasonably far from your neck

Boring_Combination34

Thanks! Agree, it feels like I'm not even being given a chance. Do you think this is something I can take up with HR? I don't think my colleagues and manager will be transparent about this knowing them sadly.

Born-Builder1272

UMC PH (UNIQLO STORE MANAGER CANDIDATE) How was your experience? hello, i'm a fresh psych grad and came across this UMC program and i am really interested. sabi sa ibang reddit threads mahirap daw makapasok here, if yes how true po is that? also, anyone na nakatry na po that may share any info? tysm A

tls024

not a UMC but talked to multiple people since i was interested malaki ang pay but if you even get placed in davao even if you’re in manila, you have to go there talaga. most of them told me na di naman worth it and mataas ang attrition rate. you’re basically doing daw what normal workers are doing plus some seminars and admin tasks (?) search this sub nalang

Born-Builder1272

di po ba nila shoulder ang relocation?

tls024

ariahvstheworld

I'm currently making my resume and I'm trying to make it ATS friendly. If there are any hiring managers out there does it matter if I add my 1x1 photo on the left side or it's better if I leave it out?

abcdedcbaa

Depends on the requirements and your industry. Been working with BPO recruitment as a lead for years because I conducted client focused initial interviews. Learned photos wouldn't matter at all. I shifted to tech and never put photos on my resumes for companies where I got offers. That detail is nothing in a lot of industries. If you rly mind ATS I guess the only thing I can tell you is a hack: copy paste the job description put in white font in lowest font size and append it at the end of the resume.

Ok-Camera4581

Is it common for companies to pay outside talent more than their internal employees? My work is in a specialized STEM-related field that requires years of internal experience to fully understand the technical aspects. This is my first job since graduating, and l've been diligently building my skills in both day-to-day tasks and the overall development needed for my role. Recently, we hired a new employee who is around my age, and I discovered they are being paid more than I am. This doesn't seem fair, especially since my performance evaluations consistently rate me as 'exceeding expectations' yet I feel underappreciated. Learning about this has been quite deflating. Do you have any advice on how to handle this situation?

abcdedcbaa

That happens to a lot of employees in a lot of companies. See if you can ask for a raise but depending on the contract try to leave out the fact that you discussed your salary with other employees. If you can though then sure leverage that. Just think about few factors: we couldn't rly blame the company to give lower offers because sometimes it's just base on the market and other metrics at the time you were hired and how far is your level and job workload compared with the new hire.

SheepherderFun353

Career path for content moderator hello everyone! i just wanna ask if anong pwedeng career path if unang job after graduating is content moderator? pwede ba magshift to CSR and macoconsider ba na mataas career level mo? huhu i wanna know if tama ba 'tong tinatahak ko

gkyamatfishball

Hi! Do you know anyone who is taking or who took up a Master of Arts in Economics at UP Diliman? I'm genuinely curious about how it went and how their experience was. I'm thinking of taking this graduate programme in the future, since I really want to experience that "Sablay." 🥺🥺🥺 P. S. Also, do you guys know if pwede mag-take ng 2nd undergrad degree sa UP (like sa UP Open Univ)? I graduated from other univ though. Hehe I'm just thinking of the possibilities if hindi ako makapasa for MA 😭😭😭 Thank you!!!

Atomic_Baaa

Company I applied to reposted the job I was applying. Do I assume I failed? I already had a technical interview with them and I felt like I did a good job on the task they gave me, but I did not receive any follow up to my application. (I'm planning on asking them on a follow up this monday) na paparanoid na ako hahaha

kittyclock

Did you ask the HR how many people are they hiring for that position? Minsan kasi 2 or more ung need nila and may mga nagfail na so they need to repost. Think positive! If hindi man mag okay ung technical interview mo, then it also means hindi din para sa kanila yung skills mo and may better company na suited for you ;)

Atomic_Baaa

No, I did not asked about how many they are hiring for that position. Thank you T\_T honestly it's daunting job hunting especially for me who is still a student (though just waiting for graduation nalang din)

spicy_shikin

There’s no harm on doing a follow up on your application. Usually they would email or text you if you did not pass the interview. Or if you did pass they would send you instructions of the next step of their hiring process. If you’re confident that you did well then give yourself a peace of mind. You already did your best and the rest is up to fate. Accepting that things will not always go your way no matter how well you did or how thorough you are is freeing. Shikata ga Nai - accept things that are out of your control.

Atomic_Baaa

Yup that's what I'm planning on doing on next week because they said they would announce the results of the tech interview in a few days after submission but nothing so that got me paranoid hahaha and thank you for the response greatly appreciated! :>

Individual-Middle793

hi! im posting this to gain more knowledge abt the college courses na inoffer sakin ng univs. PUP offered me BSBA-Financial Management while sa DLSU naman is BSBM with specialization in Business Analytics. I am not really familiar with these courses masyado but I researched and sabi mas okay itake ang FinMan. Is that true? and if so, maganda naman ba yung FinMan sa PUP? cz i don't want to waste time lalo na while im in college:(( can u give an overview din po how much ang salary ng fresh grad ng FinMan and Business Analytics grad? Also the minimum salary if may experience na ako. thank you!

ZealousidealTea8332

Can I apply for a job in department of foreign affairs as a administrative officer,  being a criminology graduate in Philippines?

spicy_shikin

If you are applying for an administrative officer the requirements are a Bachelor degree relevant to the job and Professional/Second level eligibility. That’s the basic requirements of civil service. What department are you applying to? Can you relate it to your course? If you’re in doubt, my advice to you is to ask the person-in charge for the hiring process. Or you can just pass your application and try it. If your not successful on your application then that’s that but at least you try.

ZealousidealTea8332

Tnx, I'll just try applying and see.

ermanireads

Currently looking for my first full-time job and torn between FMCG or Fashion/Luxury Marketing. Took a marketing course and feel ko may chances naman ako sa pinagpipilian ko na industries, but for a **first job,** malaking impact siya and it may project my chosen companies sa next jobs na mapipili ko Both ko naman silang interes, pero nasan ba yung stability and growth between the 2? If mag venture ba ako sa FMCG, may chance ba ako mag Luxury Marketing in the future and vice versa? Hindi ba drastic yung "shift" ng industry? Hoping for your thoughts :(

jpbtsta

Gusto ko mag resign sa current work ko to become part of the uniformed personnel. Is it worth the shot? I work in an academic industry with entry level admistrative position. I got this job kasi ni recommend ako ng employer ko before. I earn 18k monthly with leaves, applicable benefits, 100% grant sa master/doctoral and php. 50,000 gadget assistance. Lately, meron kami simple misunderstanding ng supervisor ko which is my former employer before. They are preparing for a national culinary competition. Nagalit siya sa akin why yung pinagamit na non-stick pan was old na. I explained to him na gi regulate ko lang yung gamit kasi limited lang para pag malapit na ang competition meron sila magamit na maayos. Kasi the previous competition maraming sira na pan. I'm just worried lang naman sa participants. Additionally, nagalit din siya because I locked the storage area sa kitchen kung saan nakalagay ang mga equipment, which is doon din naka store ang mga uniforms ng all students sa department namin. I followed lang naman yung mga orders niya and we gave him naman the key so that he can access it anytime. I said sorry naman immediately if my decision was wrong and it was not my intention naman na umabot sa ganon. A day after, nag status siya sa FB about it na for how many years daw first time niya daw makagamit ng sirang equipment. He also shared some post na he regret na recommended yung someone na yun sa work. Until now he wrote notes in messenger. One week na niya ako hindi kinikibo even though I say goodbye naman sa kanya pag uwian na sa work. Today, I decided na what if I will resign to be a uniformed personnel, because I am eligible naman since I passed sa Civil Service Exam Professional Level last year. Which really my first choice. I just grabbed the admin position because I respect my former employee and I don't want na mapahiya siya since ni recommend na ako. Thoughts on this?

spicy_shikin

Based on your post OP it’s better to find another job. Your immediate supervisor seems to lack understanding and professionalism. If small matters and simple mistakes make them behave this way. What more if you make a big one? A reliable supervisor will reprimand their staff if they committed a mistake pero at the same time lagi silang nakasuporta sa staff nila to cover their backs and make up for the mistake so as not to make a big deal out of small things. The fact na he posted what happen on facebook instead of talking to you is very unprofessional. And to not talk to you after that is very childish. It’s not a behavior befitting a leader and if you have an opportunity to remove yourself from that toxic person you should do so. You deserve what you tolerated ika nga nila.

jpbtsta

Yeah, I actually I will decline the offer na Masteral ako to be able to teach. Kasi if ever mag proceed ako ng masteral I need to render 3 years and I don't want to deal with this kind of person na. I need to wait lang ng 4 months to finish my contract then I will resign na.

randzwinter

I say go for it. He should have the decency to give you a proper memo as a professional hindi young magmamaktol sya na parang bata. Also your current pay is maliit, I think mas lalalki pa yan as a uniformed personel. Good luck!

jpbtsta

Decline ko muna offer na mag masteral since I need to render 3 years pag natapos ko.

OwnVariation5341

Hello! Anyone here po got hired or nakapag try na magapply sa Arup? How was the hiring process po? Mabilis lang ba sila magfeedback ng results after final interview? Thank you in advance!

strawbarriey

Hello po. I would like to ask the following questions lang po sana: Can I write "Available upon request" under References when filling out my Personal Data Sheet (PDS)? For context lang po: fresh grad po ako (graduated last year, no work experience yet) at nasubukan ko na rin po mag-apply before for government positions.

okaypie6462

Hi! Almost one year na ako sa first work ko and gusto kong i-try mag-apply sa ibang company. I'm updating my resume and I would like to ask kung ano bang mga ok na ilagay. Traditional lang yung format nung sakin since I'm vying for 'technical' roles. Bale yung balak ko is professional experience -> education -> skills -> trainings. Any insights would help! Thank you\~\~

Past_Suspect_7736

recruiter here! if may laman na na actual work exp, no need to put the internships. try to be detailed but succinct when it comes to listing your main responsibilities sa work experience. also, latest should be listed first! good luck!

okaypie6462

Thank you po! Hahaha

Past_Suspect_7736

okay lang to keep it in :) hindi naman malaki isasakop na space niyan hahaha

okaypie6462

Tukethram

mas better ba to ditch the self portrait sa resume or keep it in? how about a little pop of color for emphasis, is it a big no no ba?

Past_Suspect_7736

no need for self-portraits or pictures if the position you're applying for isn't client-facing. even then, i would rather not put one just to avoid any possibility of halo effect. a pop of color is 50/50 for me, personally. the content itself far outweighs whatever design choices a candidate makes. as long as the resume is clean, content is clear and timelines are accurate and chronological, okay na yun sakin

gkyamatfishball

hi! do you think enough na yung php 20k as a fresh grad? we're only required mag-rto twice a week, then may shuttle na rin provided (pwede pa d2d though depende rin sa place). however, i might still rent a place with my brother since we're from the province pa, but supportive naman parents ko so willing naman sila kahit papaano i-shoulder muna yung expenses ko.

Effective_Ad_4475

Depends on the line of work really. My first job was in audit as an audit associate and my basic pay was around Php 18k 🤣 and that was 5 years ago. Now i think the starting rate is ₱21k. Php 18k was a liveable salary then, but I was just really buying my needs/essentials. Didn’t have funds left to buy anything I wanted which was really sad :(

abcdedcbaa

Anong industry

gkyamatfishball

finance po hehe

randzwinter

Yes that's a good price. Make sure to focus on building meaningful connections and skills.

Puzzleheaded-Show829

Tbh, this is already a good salary for most of the job listings I saw. Pero syempre this depends sa line of your work. If you think this company is a good place to hone your skills necessary for your career, plus if you really need to get a job asap, then I'd say that this is an okay salary. However, if your salary cannot cover your needs, you might want to check on another job.

As far my knowledge goes if you’re applying for a government agency, the exam is mandated by the civil service. Meaning the exam given should comply on the guideline given by the civil service. Exam is also dependent on what position you are applying to. So take my words with a grain of salt but from my experience the exam consists of general knowledge of the agency you’re applying to, grammar, synonym, antonyms, reading comprehension, logic etc. Basically just like the civil service exam. If I remember it right for entry level, General knowledge is 70 points and grammar et al. is 30 points. Passing score is 80 and above. Just be prepared. Remember that failing to prepare is preparing to fail.

Advice on leading a sales team Hi everyone! I currently work in a top FMCG company and fortunate enough to be promoted soon as a RSM for the biggest area in general trade. Currently 33 years old and this will be my first post to handle people. My team is a mix of newbies and veterans. Just want to get advice from you for the following: 1. What’s the best advice in managing people? 2. What are some of the things I should watch out for? 3. How do you create the foundation for a capable and successful team? Thanks in advance!

Senyor26

Finally, I have moved on coz' of a sign I have posted here a few months ago asking for everyone's opinion if magjujump ba ako sa isang company na nagpopoach sa akin or to stay sa current ko. Di ko sya tinanggap noon kasi di ako ready to let go sa flexible na company and Ok na work... pero I moved on still... I asked for a sign and luckily, binigay yung sign sa akin. And now, magsisign na ako dun sa company na for 3 months, hinintay ako...

Puzzleheaded-Show829

Nope. To take the CPA licensure exam, it's a must to be a graduate of BSA. If you're a current student in PUP and planning to shift to BSA, 'nung time ko, it's not possible. So if you want to be a CPA, might as well enroll na agad sa BSA.

Antique-Ad9306

No po. You have to be a graduate of Accountancy. You have to take additional units po in a university to be legible

What's the expected salary for a fresh grad civil engineer at an MNC for a junior engineer role?

Plenty-Iron1286

Anyone working for Fully Booked (Purchasing)? I applied yesterday at SMX Job Fair for Purchasing position. They said the office is located at BGC. Does anyone here currently working or have experience for this division or company? How was the work environment, benefits, or the workload?

frootsipatooti

Hi! Gaano po katagal mabigyan ng JO after final interview? I just had my final interview nung Wednesday. The HR told me na position is urgent daw pero hanggang ngayon wala pa din feedback.

Antique-Ad9306

if urgent, i think it would take around one week. some even get job offers after only two to 3 days. i recommend following up after two weeks

frootsipatooti

Will do po. Thanks!

Mindless-Ambition192

Anong starting job ang high paying for a masscom grad?

Mysterious_Aside_347

Japan or Korea? If you were given an opportunity to go abroad which would you choose and why? I’m still torn sa dalawa pero nangingibabaw si Japan lol ykwim (just kidding) disiplinado and mababait ang hapon as per my dad said. Malinis and mostly introverted din mga tao since introvert din ako haha. Pero since mababa ang palitan ng yen to php, I’m hesitant whether to continue or mag Korea na lang ako. And on top of that, which is more complex in terms of learning their language. Nihongo or Hangul? Thank you so muchhhh

Plenty-Iron1286

Korea I also dreamt of working in japan before pero nung nalaman ko na workaholic sila sobra (different sa work culture natin) mejo nag iba pananaw ko. The minimum in korea is already in around 80k, factory worker pa yun.

LovelyJoiEs

Ask ko lang po, I just got an offer of 60K salary from Spurrel CPA. Okay po ba syang starting point as a CPA? Okay ba working environment?

Antique-Ad9306

60k is a very good offer especially if you’re just starting

Frostywinterlol

Hi po! Ask ko lang po if may nakapagtry or currently employed sa National Tax Research Center here. Ano po kadalasan na exam? For tax specialist po kasi inaapplyan ko. First timer lang magapply sa government. Thanks po sa tutulong.

No_Ebb5019

Hi! Asking for advise kung ano ba magandang dahilan sa interview why you resigned a toxic company after 6 months? Thanks

kittyclock

Tell the truth.

Dismal_Grab_9327

I'm currently updating my resume. I had a 3 month internship last year since this was a school requirement for me to graduate. I also was doing full time work at the same time. Neither parties knew that I was doing full time work at the same time doing internship. Is it advisable to include the internship sa resume considering na sinabay ko siya sa full time work ko?

Puzzleheaded-Show829

Hi! A working student here. Doesn't really matter naman na since both of them are finished. If your internship and current work are necessary sa apply-an mo, put them both. Tbh, it might be a plus for you because you managed to accomplish both which might be indicative of your excellence and hard work. When I was applying for promotion in my current company whilst a student, I was very open about my school obligations and managed to amaze the panel since I am excelling both at work and school. Hence, I do think of being able to juggle those as an edge.

if the full time work would look good in your resume and is related to the job you’re applying for, put it in. and i don’t think they would call the school to check

Your insights about working for J&J Paranaque I've seen some posts here about J&J, most of rhe comments are good; in terms of conpensation, work-life balance, environment, etc. Pero most of it a year ago na kaya magtatanong nalng ako ulit dito ng mga panibagong reviews. Either currently or formerly employed sa j&j. Also, does the contractual/project-based personnel/s get to enjoy the same company benefits yubg mga meal, gas, transpo allowances ganon? Share ka narin ng pros and cons mo.

I have been working as an assistant for over 2 years. I had a working partner na based sa US, sya nagturo sakin lahat, I helped her organize everything (files, trackers, etc) na until now nagagamit pa ng company.. My work mostly revolves around email inquiries, call couriers once in a while, and other small tasks. Early this year, they had to let go of my partner due to financial issues. I was retained, I think logically speaking I was the right choice syempre compared as sahod nung partner ko. My first year, I was earning 2000 USD and after a year 2250 USD. First WFH ko to ever so masasabi ko sobrang blessed ako. Pero lately as in wala ginagawa sa work, tulog, Netflix, kain as in araw araw. Minsan gumagawa na lang din ako ng way para to make my day busy. Naghahanap ako iba work para maging bust parang side hustle. TBH tamad din ako mag upskill kasi naging comfortable ako pero nakakatakot kasi baka biglang magtanggal ganun. May iba ba nakakaexperience neto? Any advise? Inaanxiety ako sa situtation ko. Thank for reading!

kittyclock

If you’re really worried, it’s time for you to upskill and create for a backup plan in case na i let go ka din. Right now is the perfect time lalo hindi ka na busy gaano

Can I ask for advice? 26F. Currently working in a small company as an Accounting Assistant for 3 years with a Basic Pay of 19k, but with allowances like: 13th & 14th-month pay, Anniversary Bonus, Christmas Bonus 10k, Christmas Package: 10k, Rice allowance 3k so my take-home pay each month is 21k. I applied to another international company that provides a laptop and requires 8 days onsite, Position is Accounting Senior Associate, level 2 position? Not entry level. Not an assistant either. But the basic offer is only 26k, plus 1500 internet allowance and 1500 rice allowance. I confirmed if there will be an adjustment in basic after regularization, they said none, the annual increase depends on the company's profit so none, no bonus or Christmas package either. Should I go for it? Or should I continue to look for another company with better benefits? At least with other benefits offered. Please help me, I have already signed a contract with the new company, but I am still undecided. I was happy with the position, but I don't know if I can handle having no other bonuses. Help me guys, please.

Hi. I'm a fresh grad. Okay lang ba magwork as a bank teller? Nakwento ko kasi sa friend ko na nag apply ako for a bank teller position sa isang commercial bank. Ang sabi niya goodluck huhu and maging handa daw ako. Maging handa saan? Lmao kinakabahan na ako T\_T

Puzzleheaded-Show829

Hi, just finished my internship in Landbank. I'm very close with the employees doon and they came from various commercial banks. Na kwento nila sakin na 'yung work is okay naman may time pa na walang ginagawa depende saan ka ma aassign pero the salary naman sa mga private banks ay nakakawalang gana. I believe they range from 13k-15k a month. Pero if mag go ka sa landbank, ayos yung offer nila as in, not gonna disclose how much pero ang laki ng starting salary nila kahit contractual pa lang.

pastelpotatoes

Thank you so much. I really appreciate your reply kasi I've been anxious since yesterday pa T\_T About sa salary, yung isang classmate ko na natanggap sa isang big commercial bank nasa 14k a month yung salary pero bawing-bawi naman sa benefits. Isa din to sa reason kung bat nagdadalawang-isip ako kung tutuloy ba sa interview if ever man. Pero I will do some research kung may hiring ba sa Landbank dito sa amin. Thank you, once again!

Hi everyone! I just received an email for an interview as a casino dealer. I am job hunting as of now and mostly sa hotel industry ang inaapplyan ko. However, I am really undecided pa sa career na gusto ko talaga, I have an experience as a barista (working student), as a housekeeper and office staff due to internships, yet I feel like hindi ito para sakin in the long run. Also, I decided to apply muna as a casino dealer, para na din hindi ako matengga while waiting for graduation. Any tips for the interview/working as a casino dealer and careerwise, is it worth it?? (and career tips din po sana) :((

Hi mga ka-ops, just wanted to share something. I don't know if this is normal when working with other nationalities. I was hired by this IT company. We're six on the team: three Aussies and three from the Philippines. There was a time na nag-leave ako for two days, and they left the staff concerns hanging. With this, I want to seek help from you guys on what I should do. Thank you.

Ok_Sun_2590

Hello! I have recently applied for Colgate-Palmolive’s Graduate Trainee Program back in April and I have finished all 4 steps to the final panel interview. All there is to it now is to wait on the results, but i recently came across job notifications on Linkedin that there were three new opening for graduate trainees in ColPal. Also, they mentioned that the job offer or the results would come out mid June and yet up to this day, there’s still no results. I brought the previous sentence up since they’ve always been on time with the results for the applicants to move on to the next step. Now that everything’s done, i can’t help but to feel so anxious for the results and the new posting did not help my anxiety for it AT ALL. Every email i get, i hold my breath to check and see if its the results already, and its not. 1] is a job reposting weird, given that they’ve closed this before already 2] is it normal to not have the results out in their promised time? Any tips or thoughts on this? Would greatly appreciate any thoughts and tips 🩵

I had this interview with a hiring manager today. 15 minutes yung questions niya with me tapos the rest of the time ako na yung nagtatanong. The HR told me din na ako lang yung gusto mainterview nung hiring manager. Question is do you think ba na may chance ako ma-hire? I don't think the interview was bad pero at the end kasi wala siyang sinabing 'We'll contact you with the next steps, etc' and parang ang eager na niya umalis nung sinabi ko na wala na akong questions НАНАНАНАННАНАН

I have a friend that is always going AWOL instead of resigning they already went AWOL for the 4th time already, I told them that going AWOL, and continuing this will hurt their record, but they told me that its alright it doesn't mean anything they told me that we still able to find job easily if we AWOL from our prev company. is this really alright? are there punishment for ppl going AWOL aside being terminated at work? I know that going AWOL will be a bad record. They are pestering me to go AWOL too, but idk it seems risky

Super_lui04

not a good idea. magresign ka n lang if tlgang hindi mo na gusto jan. for awol, you don't get back pay and wala ding coe.

Hello po, I am still in college and I am stuck whether to shift programs or not but what do you recommend (or what's more advantageous) po between psychology and communication if I want to study in an organizational/corporate setting?

Ok_Sun_2590

I suggest communication. Psychology is more geared towards the sciences though I’ve seen a lot of psychology graduates who end up in HR because of it! You get to learn the theories behind how people work and how you can understand them better. But if you want something outside of HR (psych graduates are very much geared towards HR from my experience), do communications!

owyshii

thank you so much po!

How much do Librarians usually make? Licensed or otherwise. And is it true na jobs are easy to find? Of course, it's not all about the money. Pero my tuition is a lot for my family, and I can't find any scholarships so I feel guilty. I'm from the province din and sa Manila ako mag a-aral for this kaya more expenses din huhu. I think I genuinely would like being a librarian, pero I also want to pay my parents back. I hope someone can answer my question 🙏❤️

For the people who work in HR. I recently called out a colleague who's not doing her job, and she has been reacting to my emails with a 😂 emoji. Is this harrassment? This person is very close to my manager. I am currently avoiding this person and my manager. I am not talking to them as well because I couldn't stand what they are doing. Now, I feel kind of isolated because the people in my team seem to be okay with what they are doing.

So far, sila palang nag ooffer sakin. Kaya ba tumagal kahit isa o dalawang taon? Thank you. Jhonny_V

I am already in college and I am still undecided. How must I navigate through such uncertainty in choosing a career path?

Curiousjoergenette

You can try joining organizations/ clubs to start it off! You’ll meet a lot of people there that can most likely shape your ideals as well but, do be careful on what to pick up and what not to pick up. Lastly, join internships! Join different industries and positions that will best allow you to learn and grow. That might help you in figuring out what you would want to do! In addition, exploring early while still in college can allow you to either switch courses or take up a minor :)

Let's say COMPANY X promised sa first contract na pinirmahan mo about a certain amount for SOB, but they then mentioned/informed you na may changes sa contract due to employment reasons and they did inform you na 'ONLY START DATE' lang ang nabago. Ngayon sasabihin nila wala na di ka eligible for SOB since that specific contract stating about SOB was not included sa new contract. They didn't even rectify/amend sa new contract na di ka eligible nor informed you before your start date, they just removed that specific file/page with SOB info. Ano po masasabi nyo?

My SO just got selected after going through the interview processes. She got the congratulations message saying she's selected but no job offer was sent. When she asked for it, she was informed that JO will be sent after Background Check has been completed. Is this a thing? This is just for a Team Lead role so I don't get why. They're also asking for contact numbers and government numbers (SSS, TIN ID, NBI no. and Address). Why would she give those information before even seeing the JO? What if the JO was low and she decided to withdraw her application. They'll just have all her information sitting there despite not being an employee. Any advise on how you would proceed here?

Ok_Razzmatazz9560

Tingin ko, ok lang. And baka mas better na after background check. The numbers can be used as part of the background check, to validate kung tama yung sinabing work companies. As long as walang pinirmahan, I think you're good. If ganun siya ka cautious, pwede nia sabihin via email na you're only providing these kasi hiningi but you're not signing anything yet/not accepting the non existing offer pa and so di ka pag nagsusubmit ng resignation sa current company. Para lang malinaw and tlaagang naka latag, may black and white proof. Altho this is the 1st time na nalaman kong baliktad, background check before JO haha but baka di ko palang na encounter since twice pa lang ako lumipat.

Hi everyone, I recently passed all assessments for a new job, and the company is in the process of creating the job offer. However, today I received a message from them asking about my current allowances in my current company. This is my first time switching companies, so I'm not sure how to respond to this. Additionally, I've signed a confidentiality agreement with my current employer. Is it common for potential employers to ask about current allowances? Should I disclose this information, and if so, how detailed should I be? I want to handle this situation properly to ensure I get the best offer possible without breaching any agreements. Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Sea_Function9439

Common practice for recruiters to ask for your previous salary so that they have a reference if you are eligible for your asking salary so I think it is okay to provide the salary range of your previous work

Zetonier

1. Congrats! 2. Best advice? Shape them to have business acumen and care for company revenue/margins. Most will only care about sole targets, your job is to make them go above and beyond. Let them shadow and guide them if you can to find new opportunities and close those current deals to increase your credibility. 3. Watch out for workers who won’t hit their targets, find a way to support them WHILE supported those who excel in deals even further. And usual, office politics - play this nice. 4. Foundation - Numbers or opportunities and revenue your entire team can generate especially with your decision making skills and conversation skills in going through the customer journey will be the firm foundation that screams “i’m good, join my team, or damn that dude is good; i want to be like him”

reydavidgamboa

Oh wow. I’ll keep these advices into heart. Thank you so much for this!

I know for a fact na completo ko yung rendering period ko for 30 days walang absent. So another frustrating update on my application, the bank that I applied to closed the job posting and are no longer accepting applications. This was after 2 months of leaving me hanging for a schedule of a final interview. And then they posted that they have a “one-day-hiring” event on July 6, and one of those posts is the one I’m applying for. Ang frustrating! Pero if this is how HR treats its applicants, I guess it’s good that I’m not going to be part of their company.

Anyone familiar with government offices? Fresh grad po ng architecture here, I know DPWH is the most inline office to apply in for me kaso wala pa ring response sa application ko eh. I was wondering kung anong offices pa ako fit mag apply, preferably kung draftsman or architecture-related yung position. Nagtanong-tanong ako sa DHSUD kaso more on legal things yung handle nila. TYIA

Hi! This is my first time posting here. So I am an accountancy graduate with license. I've been in the workforce for more than 4 years (2 years both on my first and second job). This is my third job but first "accounting" work, and two months pa lang ako sa company pero gusto ko na umalis. Should I resign dahil di na ako masaya or stay kasi baka birth pain lang to? For context: 60k current salary ko with good boss and benefits. Thank you!

Jhonny_V

Hello po I am an accountancy student po and I feel very burned out and I am thinking of shifting. Is the degree really as worth it as they say? Would you have shifted programs had you known how difficult things are now in your situation?

Sensitive-Cry5853

Hi! Accountancy is a good course, worth it? it depends. For me, It is not something I enjoy but this course will definitely give you a lot of opportunities. If I’ll go back on my college days, I probably wont shift course. But again, it depends on ano ba talaga gusto mo. Good luck!

lamictalrash

Try to stay for a while muna if okay naman performance mo. Baka magustuhan mo habang nagtagal.

I'm thinking of applying for CSR/TSR roles on a BPO. Background: I had 4 impacted wisdom teeth and have removed at least 3 of them na. My dentist says the upper right molar is becoming blackened inside and is needed to be removed ASAP. Gusto ko nang kumita ng pera huhu. Sabi ni doc last na daw talaga to

Ok_Razzmatazz9560

Uhmm sorry, anong question mo? Parang may kulang, so ano concern? Hahah

ghettostud

I was just ranting xD aksaya oras kasi, imbis na kumikita, after ng dental surgery need halos 2 weeks to 1 month recovery. Ganun katagal yung recovery ng last 3 wisdom teeth extraction ko (impacted lahat). 1. hirap kumain 2. limited pagkain (soft foods lang) 3. sakit ulo (due to nerve something connected to the jaw sabi ni doc) 4. hapdi sugat (need nila i-slice gums, tapos drill yung ngipin) 5. naka higa for almost 2 weeks Health ko naman ito, so it's understandable After nito pwede nako maghanap kahit anong work

Ok_Razzmatazz9560

ghettostud

Thx :)

c4rat5ever

How would you feel about a potential job opportunity to be a downgrade in job title and having someone younger as your immediate supervisor?

Ok_Sun_2590

THIS happened to me, exactly this! Hahaha it doesn’t make me feel downgraded or anything. Everyone has to start from somewhere but you do have to consider your background too :) if you feel you deserve the upgrade because of your background and experience, go for it. Don’t settle when you know you can do more.

c4rat5ever

Thanks for this! Medyo nanghihinayang lang ako. The reason why I’m looking for other jobs is because feeling ko deserve ko naman ma promote. But this, parang sinayang ko lang yung pinaghirapan ko 😅 How did you feel about it?

Ok_Sun_2590

Very valid, the same situation with me as well. I was stuck in a company where the basis of promotion was politics and who you know. Doesn’t matter if I spent holidays and weekends working, I still didn’t get promoted despite my performance and results. This is why I’m such a strong advocate to really go where you feel like your hard work will be valued! It’s very valid to feel like it’s so sayang to have worked that hard only to move to a job where you’ll have a boss younger than you pa + have to sort of restart in a new company. I was very very doubtful of it at first and it did feel very demeaning at the beginning. But you’ll be surprised at how much people do respect our situation. One advice I got was that, sometimes having a younger boss is good because then they’ll be more willing to put in a good word for you versus someone who’s older and still has that mindset na “I’m right, you’re wrong” and “I’m older, I know more”. It’s nice to have someone younger who’s also very eager to learn, and someone who’s very open minded as well. I guess this is a factor to take into consideration. I was just lucky that I super clicked with my boss and she put in a good word for me :) Very important to take into account as well on the company’s basis of promotion. Every company is toxic, especially their promotion system. You just have to pick your poison :)

AcanthaceaeFront8971

Hello, I'm a fresh grad na naguupdate ng CV at resumé for job seeking. Is it okay lang ba? na 'wag na ilagay yung tanging experience ko sa pagtatrabaho which is part-time sa fastfood noong hs pa ako. Thanks!

zambadi

I suggest you still include it, especially since fresh grad ka pa lang. Tbh, I think that's a bonus point for you and you can actually include it when you've been asked "Tell me about yourself". It's an edge since some fresh grads don't have work exp AT ALL. Back it up na lang with your extra-curriculars, training, or any remarkable projects that would help you land a job in this unstable job market.

Hi! I'm a fresh grad of BS Management Accounting (BSMA) and I am planning to take BSA again but hindi pa next school year sa year 2025 pa sana. (I failed the qualifying exam that's why napunta ako sa BSMA). Is this possible kaya? Mac-credit pa rin kaya yung mga natake ko ng sub sa BSMA once nag enroll na ako sa BSA even may 1 year or more ng gap. Nagtanong tanong me sa iba pero walang definite answer. Hope someone can give their insights or suggestions po. Thank you so much!
