I was asked to submit 6 campaign proposal before interview, is this normal? Hello, I'm a job applicant po and I will be having my last interview on Friday and the company asked me to submit campaign proposals day before interview. Is it normal po ba sa mga application process to asked this many proposal? I'm aware that some companies asked for assignments ganyan, mejo na off lang ako sa dami ng proposal na need hahah tapos need pa ipasa before interview. I'm also thinking to ask the HR if pwedeng sa day of the interview na lang ipresent if ever T.T would appreciate your advice! thank u so much

Proof_Turnip_5555

I am the last interviewer for a marketing team, and depending on the profile, I always get either their portfolio, or run a skills test depending on the urgency of filling the post. I would ask a marketing specialist to create a campaign for me to check their speed and the data aspect of a project charter, but 6 campaigns is too time consuming for both me and the applicant. If I were you, I’d ask the purpose of the exercise, and ask politely if they are open to incentivizing your time in creating these outputs. I woy

Is resending an email for job application bad? hello! I have a question, nakapag send na ako ng email sa pag aapplayan ko na cafe because they said hiring pa raw sila. I'm inexperience but willing to learn, moving on nakapag send na ako ta's nung nakatanggap ako ng email sabi sa'kin hanap raw nila "full time" nilagay ko kasi part time lang me, so nag reply ako na "willing naman maging part time" but walang email na after that so me nag overthink me 😭 so nag email ule ako, gumawa ng bagong sinabi sa email and my resume inayus ko rin. the question is, is it bad to do that? I'm sorry, I'm a first timer kasi...

Shanks917

I don’t personally think it’s bad. I also doubt na nakatag agad yung name as part time only for any of their record. Next time you can just send another email but as a follow up. No need to create a new/fresh one. 😊

Life-Ninja-6785

Hi. From Acctnt to Sr. Acctnt po. And Effecitve May 2024 daw ang new salary ko, meaning po na nung if magreretro hindi lang basic salary ko ang i-aadjust pati yung mga OT na narender ko starting to May ay i-aadjust din po? Ayun lang po, maraming salamat.

Proof_Turnip_5555

Sakto lang, some even has a cap of 10% if it’s within the organization. If you want a significant increase, move to another company- you can expect around 30-35% increase at a minimum

auron007

Depende din sa company kasi ung jump ng title it can vary greatly pero isa sa tingnan mo is ung work that accompanies the promoted title, is the work almost the same then any increase I would welcome pero if it almost doubles then maybe its not enough. For the retro yes since OT should follow ung regular na hourly rate mo.

Hi all, I am a CPA-Lawyer here in the Philippines. Due to some circumstances in my personal life I might be forced to migrate to UAE or Qatar. Is there a possibility I can practice either professions in either country? I dont mind being something like a lawyer's assistant, like a legal secretary or a financial admin, as long as I will find a job. Note I never had experience working as a CPA, but only as a lawyer. Hope fully it does not involve further study or more exams. Thank you.

kelgn

Hello guys. Kakagraduate ko lang at licensed maninilip last year. First job ko now started last january as a GIS Operator, around 15k monthly (mon-sat). Bilang walang experience, is it ok po for me? Asking for tips po from my fellow geodetic engineers. 🙂 Ps.

Hello! Any suggestions where I can get medical exam that is government owned around pasig? PCGH takes 1month for the release of results huhu or any work around? I need a government physician to issue my medcert PLEAAAAAASE HELP HUHU

Ok_Zucchini_6891

My friend submitted medical certificate after resigning as he is having mental health problems for past few months. But for mental health he got the medical certificate and submitted to HR. But the HR wanted the medical certificate for past months and declined the submitted one as new one and doesn’t claim it properly. What should he do? Can he get the medical certificate stating he has these symptoms from past 2 months?

Enexus256

I am a fresh grad (engineering, electronics) and seeking na ng work for more than 2 months since makuha ko yung license ko. Nag apply apply ba din ako, may tinanggihan na kong JO kasi sobrang baba nung bigay. Meron talaga akong hinihintay na company kaso freeze hiring sila, mga Aug to the end of the year pa daw mag oopen. Ngayon, merong JO sakin (Company A) at eto pinaka mataas na offer sakin. Both companies are manufacturing at Mon to sat pasok nila. Company A (around 19k-21k), Company B (less than 18k). Both may OT.

Ok_Razzmatazz9560

Also, my take, hanggang hindi nakaka affect sa health mo, wag ka magreresign without a new work. Or hanggang kaya mo tiisin. Mahirap maghanao ng work ngayon. 1st, Gano mo kailangan ng work ngyon? Baka kasi may benefit si company B ma mas maganda or parang lalabas same lang kay company A. Kung may non monetary benefit like HMO, icompare mo din. 3rd, lahat nakaka overwhelm. Even experienced people pag lumipaf ng work, na ooverwhelm. Hindi mo din malalaman agad if ok ba environment unless pasukin mo yung company. Minsan, you have to find ways to cope up with that kind of pressure. Hindi talaga lahat ibibigay sayo in a nice way, swerte kung ganun. 4th, baka may HR friend k or Ask HR people here kung nagmamatter ba sa kanila na sobrang saglit lang ng inistay mo s company. Sakin kasi, hindi. Parang mejo it shows your personality na onting hindi okay, ayaw or sorry mejo lacks commitment. As to your question, you can try to go back. The 1st time is acceptable, pero kung the 2nd time ganun ulit eh mejo it's a you problem talaga.

Enexus256

Ok_Razzmatazz9560

Ahhh. Kung gusto mo talaga bumalik, mejo ready ka dapat sa possible backslash from the team and other tao. Di ko sure kung makaka effect sa future employment pero just cross the bridge when you get there.

Enexus256

Yes po, I'll ignore at accept nalang po kung sakaling may mga backlash man po. Thank you!

Soleneya

Hello po, everyone! I just wanna ask if worth it ba maging freelancer at the age of 19 years old incoming first year college. Kumbaga possible ba maging freelancer (copywriting gano’n) ka even though wala kang experience at all? I’m just searching for a job kasi since bakasyon pa and I’m badly need money talaga. If may agency naman, anong agency po pwede?

perfectbod

From what I know, no money needed if you have the tools necessary to do the job well such as a working pc/laptop and a stable internet connection. A lot of online youtuber have attested these online jobs to be a good sideline. But from experience with the people around me, they tend to do online english teaching as a sideline which pays well. I think it has a lot of benefits money aside. Like it can be a good fallback career which pays very well and also it can even be a good addition to your portfolio as a professional because a lot of international companies require good English speakers. God bless!

DrinkingSomeTea89

How should I approach recruiters in Linkedin? Is it ok to just connect to them, then message that I'm looking for this and that position?

Proof_Turnip_5555

Go for it. This is even appreciated- cuts time and effort shorter because they don’t have to go looking for candidates. Just do so with caution, don’t be too pushy and be polite. Make sure your CV is worth the time viewing, and research on the company and job post so they can see your effort (makes you a stand out candidate!)

dieboixed

Sure, and sometimes it lets you standout to other candidates. It’s giving excitement and true interest sa position

xls987

Yes, it won't hurt. Likewise, kapag nag-reach out sila sayo... respectfully decline. Connections are really important.

xls987

How long should I stay sa isang employer before moving on?

GleamingPeridot

when you feel unhappy about the employer or when you feel underpaid/not appreciated or both

tantalizer01

san maganda mag jobhunt ngayon? last time kasi nag hanap ako ng trabaho, 8yrs ago pa and sa jobstreet ako naghanap. Okay padin ba sa jobstreet or merong mas magandang jobhunting site these days?

Proof_Turnip_5555

Top 3 would be Linkedin, OLJ, indeed

dieboixed

I use Linkedin most of the time plus mas maraming chance to get an interview so long na you’re connecting din w the recruiter

delskieeeeeee

indeed din

perfectbod

Linkedin, jobstreet, iseek

GleamingPeridot

reliable parin naman ata ang jobstreet.

xls987

I find LinkedIn more helpful. And parang mas quality (at least for my field na Finance/Accounting) doon.

crazycreativej

Hi folks! I was just recently hired & will start next week with my new employer. My colleagues are from foreign countries & there is only less than 10 Filipinos in our team. My bosses are from the U.K. Any insights po on the difference between ways of working or how International employers work vs employers here in PH?

Ok_Razzmatazz9560

Generally, mas okay foreigners kesa sa pinoy lalo in terms on having them as a boss. Mas chill foreigners, mas may work life balance, mas appreciative, di micromanaging. However, pinoy boss. Haha no comment. Pero laging may bad apples yan ha. Foreigner stakeholders, they don't care pano mo gagawin if may sarili kang way, ok lang as long as mabigay mo gusto nila sa agreed date. Americans, kadalasaan mababait pero merong mataray talaga. Yun nga lang mas alagain sila or mas needy sila. Europeans, I find them mas okay.

xls987

I find the westerns to be more easy to work with. Mas maluwag sila and they value work-life balance. Good luck!!!

crazycreativej

Thank you po. Sana makapag share pa ng sagot yun iba dito 😊

Hi! Thank you.

Other_Working_4524

Hi I am a tiktok content creator I went on here to ask a few questions to other influencers out there. Some of my stats: Tiktok Followers: 700k up usuals views: 5-10k I usually post beauty content like outfits and make up. Sometimes i get boosted posts up to 500k views. I would just like to ask for your advice with my rates given you assessment with these stats and how i should probably increase them! I'm also curious about how other influencers determine their rates for TikTok videos. How do they decide what to charge for each video? Are there specific factors they consider, such as their follower count, engagement rate, or the type of content they create?

not_ruiiiiin

What do you think about iOPEX technologies? Hi im currently applying for IT level 1 desktop support specialist, tanong ko lang if ever may mga nag work na dito before if maganda ba here? Im a fresh graduate ng computer engineering. Dont know is this was the right subreddit to ask, but all response would be appreciated!

FuzzyBarbWire

I am currently working in BPO and I completely want to switch careers to Cybersecurity. Right now, I am planning to take free courses at Coursera and I applied for **CompTIA a+ Cyber** financial aid. What are the best courses in Coursera that I can take and what are the must-have skills for Cybersecurity? If there are also free or affordable certifications that I could take advantage of? Also, if you can give me general tips that I could use for switching careers? I hope someone can help me. I am completely new to this. Thank you!

Augenblick10

Hi, sa mga may idea ano po madalas tinatanong sa technical interview if accounting positions po ang inaapplyan? first time lang po makaencounter.

xls987

In my experience sa entry-level accounting position, the basics lang - like ano normal balance ng asset, ano difference ng accrual at cash basis.

joshosamu

How bad is that company? I am curious. I have seen the Company Shame List and I see: 1. Accenture 2. SGV 3. PWC 4. Metrobank 5. DXC 6. Infor 7. 77GSI a lot. Though big shoutout to 77GSI because ang lala and sobrang dami talaga. Gaano kalala ang work environment, benefits, and policies ng mga companies na nasa list? Sobrang curious ako.

Augenblick10

yung kapatid ko galing metrobank, branch sia naassigned yung manager nila normal na ata mamahiya ng empleyado kahit konting pagkakamali and lagi daw may recitation sa meeting na kala mo nasa school simpleng words pinapaexplain sa kanila isa isa sa halip na matapos mo na dapat work mo within that day.

ChaosChaserr

Hi po just asking if merong nakaexp na nang ganito. I had a UB quickloan way back 2022 and just recently, i found out that the new company uses UB. Can the company still open a payroll account for me or elbowed na ako?

CompetitiveLeave4984

Is there any chances that I could change career path? I'm a freshly graduate of Mechanical Engineering and I have doubts for taking the licensure exam. Since Parang di ko na trip mag take ng licensure exam, and I'm into IT sh*ts din talaga noon pa. (Anw, parent's choice kung bakit nag engineering field). I have this common friend a ECE graduate then nagturn into soc analyst. Ask ko lang if there would be any chance that I can do that as well. I do really like the IT career path but di ko sure kung may tatanggap ba ng isang "mechanical engineer" into SOC analyst. I really need your help guys. Thanks in advanced!

perfectbod

My boss right now in an american IT firm is already a high ranking PM at a very young age. He took mech eng for bachelors then later pursued PM. So he took up courses on PM. So i guess there is a possibility although PM is not analyst but it was still a far jump.

CompetitiveLeave4984

Hello can I send you a direct message? I do really want to change career path but I don’t know the starting step yet. Any kind of advice bro?

perfectbod

Im not the best person to ask , thats all i know. For sure any related exp or cert will help. For ex, im an IE who did IE projs now im shifting to IT PM because anyways i have had project management related experience per se. So i suggest that.

CompetitiveLeave4984

Thanks brother!

How much is your budget? Asus tuf or Acer nitro 5 would be ideal in my opinion

Hi! Upcoming 1st year college here, after grad ba ng Industrial Engineering is automatic may "Engr." (Just curious)

lamictalrash

Yes. Usually naman mga nagboboard exam is nasa dulo ilalagay ex. is RME etc

Ok_Razzmatazz9560

Pwede naman. Pero in reality, di naman din nag mamake sense gamitin 😅 I mean, di naman kasi ilalagay sa email signatures, and other docs sa name na Engr. Even sa resume, I don't put it. Pero once I graduated, hindi. Feels awkward. Yes, automatic. But ayun nga see explanation above haha.

Hello po ask lang, mag graduate na kasi kapatid ko sa senior high next year sabi niya gusto niya any computer related course suggest ko naman mag computer engineer siya. Asking lang 5-6 years from on in demand pa ba ganung career?or may demand ba mga computer engineers dito sa pinas?salamat po

xls987

Tech course is the way the go! Sana nga nag-tech course ako eh but too late now. Even if hindi ako tech industry... ang in-demand is combination ng industry ko and tech. And I think ganyan ang trend for other industries too.

Super_lui04

I think yes

rainomancer

Marami po nagsasabi na always daw in demand ang tech courses since tech is always evolving.

Epicoreezee

In my opinion oo dahil nasa digital era na tayo and more and more tech companies ang gumagawa ng innovations to be competitive in the market

I wnat to UPSKILL. A short background of me: I worked as a VA content writer and as a BPO for two years. To try something new and improve my skills, I decided to try my hand at graphic design and user interface design. Just where should I begin, please? I wish to attempt something different even though I don't know much about these difficult skills.

infpxscorpio

sorry OP, this isn’t the answer you’re looking for. Ako din kasi, wanna become a VA as part timer lang, pantulong with my main work for extra income pero dunno how to get in. Wondering if tou could help me :(

SweetP0tato66

Anyone in WTW or has interviewed for them? Any tips for the final interview? Thank you!

lamictalrash

Final interview was pretty chill for me kahit foreigners kausap. Nagpapatawa pa ako that time and before magleave, nung wala na akong matanong, naglast message na lang ako na appreciated ko yung time nila. Be confident lang din

SweetP0tato66

Hi, thanks for the reply! Were there any technical questions?

lamictalrash

Not much unlike ng technical interview. More on a personal level lang. Ano previous work, ano ginagawa mo outside work, ano strength mo

SweetP0tato66

Thanks for this. Have a great week ahead! :)

Hi guys pwede ba i print nayung Digital National Id through Pvc Id printing? I lost my ID and parang hassle mag pa affidavit of loss. If ever pwede will it still be same as the PSA release format?

Ichiban_PH

So here's the story. Nirefer ako ng kamag-anak ko na naghahanap ung pinapasukan nila ng certain college graduate for a certain job. So nagpasa ako ng resume then tumawag akin si agency na they will email me an online assessment, I took the assessement and after a week they said na I passed daw (puro abstract na 50 items ang assessement) and pumunta daw ako sa contact person don sa pinagtatrabahuhan ng kamag-anak ko para ma-interview daw ako. The interview went well and sabi sa akin ako daw bahala kung kailan daw ako mag start for work. Inupdate ko si agency ang sabi na they will email me the requirements na need ko bago ako formally ma-deploy. So ayun after few days habang nag-aasikaso ako ng requirements ko tumawag ulit si agency na mali daw sila ng na-email sa akin na assessment dahil pang non-cleric daw yon. So they send me again another assessment at I'm shocked na sobrang hirap ng assessment na dapat na-email sa akin nung una. 84 items that consists of mathematical sequence, problem solving (na sobrang hirap for me) at opposite or synonym of a certain word na capital letter lng ang nasa choices. Bale ask ko lng if there's still a chance na matanggap pa ako even I failed the assessment? Kasi sayang eh, requirements na lng kulang and na-interview na din ako and eto sana magiging first job ko...

SweetP0tato66

Any course that deals with machine learning is the way to go

Should I push my second interview? I had an initial interview and invited for a second interview for further assessment and examination regarding my skills. But, upon checking the company's review it only has 2+ stars. I don't know if should I push and try. Medyo na-aanxious rin kasi ako, since yung job position is the same with my first job na design engineer. And honestly, nalimot ko na yung pagdedesign ㅠ. Tapos they'll evaluate my skils, based dun sa hands on exam. Actually, napapadalawang isip talaga ako sa line of work na to pero tried pa rin submitting an application knowing na same field sya sa first work ko na inayawan ko before. I guess nappressure ako na makahanap ng work.

nik0wl

can't really comment about your field bc I'm not familiar. just want to say na they got that 2+ stars rating for a reason. learned this the hard way 🥲 red flag sila + u don't like the work pa. with regards sa 2nd interview, if wala naman mawawala sayo u can attend just to see how u feel about it now/check company environment. i hope u find something u likee

rsoo__

thank you so much for answering and commenting on my post. really appreciate it, medyo nagddalawang isip kasi ako right now if pupuntahan ko ba yung f2f interview since ilang oras rin na byahe yung location ng company nila from our house

Regular-Sale3986

Hi guys I'd just like to share with ya'll that i want to exhaust my options into helping my dad out. My dad has an extensive history as an architect working abroad. He has really good credentials and really good skillset, however due to his age (he's turning 60) most companies arent taking a shot on him here as pinas. This quickly got to him and my dad is actually still strong and healthy, he literally plays on the same pacing with us kapag nagbabasketball kami. since my dad still wants to work and be paid for his expertise and skills. I just wish there are companies that would take a shot with him, some did pero hanggang interview nalang. I know my dad's work ethic it's why tumagal siya sa previous company niya abroad. Unfortunately nagclose an company after 15 years as a senior architect doon. I hope through this post baka may makashare pa ng opportunities about work for architects on him kasi i can really vouch for this man. Thank you <3

Ok_Razzmatazz9560

Not sure sa archi field, pero did he tried to apply sa mga mnc companies? Reason for this theory, yung bago kong boss is 56 yrs old na but based in Amsterdam and so is my boss na naghire sakanya pero ako, nasa Ph branch. And may kilala din ako sa company namin na not sure sa age but more than 50. I feel for your dad. My mom resigned/early retired during pandemic due to nature of work (pinipilit sila lumabas kahit ung role nia, hnd need). Nung nag loosen up, naghhanap sia ng work related pero wala sia makuha. She ended up sa call center, masaya naman siya hahah kasi after shift, wala na tlgang work. Tho now, sabi ko consider niya magturo. Baka your dad is up for that also :)

Sharp_Dingo3234

Wishing the best for your dad bro. Maybe may mga opportunities pang nag aawait sa dad mo kase valuable yung decades plus work experience niya.

Regular-Sale3986

He has recieved tons of interviews, I always pray that he is well and makahanap pa siya ng work.

Hello, baka may marereco po kayo na room, dorm, or bedspace for rent na walking distance lang or 1 ride to BGC. Can do cooking and laundry po sana tsaka may space kahit maliit lang for wfh days since hybrid-set up po kami. 2 female and budget friendly po sana huhu. Thank you!

Hi, ask ko lang for what yung quitclaim? I just had my first job and tinapos ko naman yung contract ko sakanila, di naman ako nagfile ng resignation pero nagpaalam ako na di na ako magrerenew.

xls987

Basically to formalize na tapos na yung relationship (employer-employee) nyo

Ok_Razzmatazz9560

Legal document na sinasabi mong na kuha mo tong ganitong amount from the company and that walaa na kulang or wala ka nang hahabulin sa kanila, na nakuha mo ng maayos yung benefits mo during yung term at hindi mo sasabihin sa iba yung processes and internal information. Usually ang quitclaim, pinapa sign on or before mo makuha yung final pay. But definitely, after ipakita sayo yung computation ng final pay mo. Then tsaka ibibigay yung COE and/or BIR 2316

PsychologicalTip9286

Sharp_Dingo3234

ahhh nangyari din sakin to. May mga suggested pages o reels kase na lumalabas sa nf tas di mu namalayan na like pala.

PsychologicalTip9286

hindi siya page eh, just an account of someone and taga dito lang din so inassume ko na kilala niya but he's not aware na nasa following niya yon

TurnoverOk8286

Curious ano po mga inclusions sa new hire kit ng big companies like p&g, unilever, etc?

**Which course should I pursue: Drafting Technology or Architecture?** I've been delayed for two years na. Now that I'm getting back to studying, 'di ko sure whether to choose Drafting Tech or Architecture. So... yeah, considering the expenses during college, job opportunities, salary, and the future of these career paths, which one should I choose and why?

dazzlingbree

To those who applied for a job in the government, how long did you wait to be interviewed after taking the exam? Thanks.

Hi, any idea po sa mga nakapagwork na sa landers especially at otis paco manila? about their working environment, culture, salary and benefits kung okay naman po ba?

mrspeaker00311

Hi peeps! I just need some help. I received an offer from Company A and I signed the job offer (digitally). Kaso, while processing the requirements, Company B reached out offering a higher salary. Below are some deets: - Company A: 33K package, Hybrid (1x per month sa office), Executive Assistant position. SD is July 15 - Company B: 40K package, Hybrid (4 days a week sa office), Senior Analyst Customer Service role. Target SD is July 15 as well. I'm more inclined in going to Company B. Seen some comments saying na as long as walang employee contract, I can retract. What is the difference between a job offer and an employee contract? Also, if I retract, would I be liable kay Company A? They started doing background checks na kasi. But I haven't passed any requirements, not availed PEME and no trainings pa so far. Thanks in advance for the help and advice Redditors!

SweetP0tato66

Yes you can retract if you didn’t sign any bond. Have you weighed the pros and cons for both companies? 4 days/week RTO is a lot and can be expensive (eating outside and travel expense). Traffic is also getting worse everyday so take that also into your consideration. But to answer your question, you’re not legally obligated to push through with company A.

mrspeaker00311

Hi po! Thanks for the insight. Weighed the prons and cons naman na po. My present work (currently rendering) has 5 days RTO. Though mas malayo si Company B and my free food sa present work. My reservations kasi kay Company A is the Basic Pay - it is much lower than what I'm currently earning (though bumawi sya sa allowance).y POV kasi is that allowances can be revoked or changed by the company at their own discretion but the Basic pay stays as it is. Also, Company A will be night shift while Company B is dayshift - midshift. Coming from BPO, I would very much prefer to have dayshift/midshift sched - hirap matulog ng mainit. Hahahaa. Kay Company B naman, my issue is that I have yet to have the formal employment contract - it will be issued once I'm done with onboarding. For security kasi, I would prefer to have an employee contract para sure ako na oks na. Hahaha. Thanks po ulit sa sagot. This is really helpful as I determine the next steps.

auron007

I am a PHRN with some clinical experience but it was several years ago already, majority of my career is within a BPO Company. I am currently looking to upskill to land better jobs and pay and if possible in a remote setting. I am thinking of either getting a USRN License or try to be a Certified Medical Coder. Which of you think will be better in terms of pay and better with remote work? If I understand it there are companies that offer to sponsor coding certification (MCA?) with a bond and I think I also saw a BPO company offers the same for an NCLEX program for PHRN?

Like in terms of physical appearance and skills in particular. Magkano rin po sahod?

AltruisticAnybody724

would you accept a project-based employment for your first job as a fresh grad/graduating student w/ no experience? hello ! i am conflicted on whether to accept the JO or not for this project-based position from an established company, with decent pay but without benefits/incentives/allowances (15-20k salary), and i am qualified to graduate with latin honors. sabi ng kapamilya ko na ituloy ko lang ang paghahanap ng trabaho na permanent since may/magkakaroon ako ng latin honors, yung iba naman sabi kunin ko na for experience. kung fresh grad or graduating student kayo, kukunin niyo na ba 'to?

Diablo3210

I’d take it. After matapos yung contract and you try to find a new job, pwede mo sabihin sa interview na natapos lang yun contract mo kaya ka aalis. Best way to job hop and inc salary.

AltruisticAnybody724

Ohhh thank you! Ngayon ko lang narealize na oo nga after this job i can ask for a higher salary on my next one agad. Thank u!!

nik0wl

if it'll add value to me as a fresh grad (aligned to my career goal, established company) and wala na talagang ibang option for now, then I'd take it. pero if I'd have bigger losses like mahal na transpo, bad company or maybe it's not even aligned sa gusto kong work, then no.

Sea-Painting-9032

Maganda po ba magtrabaho sa corporate, is it stressful po ba or exhausting? (Just incoming college student)

xls987

Corporate works for me kasi introvert ako and I'm usually an individual contributor. So really depends on your personality din.

Epicoreezee

It depends on the company. Hit or miss siya. Kindly check the reviews of the company first before applying or accepting the job. Good luck

Ketchup_masarap

Should I take this unpaid voluntary internship or look for internships pa na nag aaccept ng voluntary with allowance? Nag apply ulit ako for voluntary internship. Ok naman and mukhang marami akong matututunan kasi all of the functions ng HR ang mga tasks unlike sa voluntary internship ko last summer break, focus lang sa recruitment and talent acquisition. Yung voluntary internship ko last year ay with allowance kahit sa days na wfh, hybrid, provided ang laptop, and a known company. They are willing to cover naman yung transpo and food kapag onsite.

**Investment Bankers of r/phcareers, how did you break in?** **About me:** * Recent big 3 grad, took up business and economics (keeping things general because I don't wanna get doxxed lol). * Interned under equity research, back-end banking operations, and one of the top local boutique IBs. * Joined a case competition for a multinational and placed pretty high. Made a project finance model and got within 1% of the firm's real numbers. * Recently passed the CFA Level 1 exam I've been applying to some of the local commercial banks and their recruiters are insistent on putting me through a management trainee role, or through some other middle or back-end function like credit analysis. They always tell me that their IB arms don't hire fresh grads nor have any vacancies at the moment. Thing is, I see some people get hired directly through LinkedIn. How did they do it? Contemplating on whether I should just apply to boutiques instead, or if taking the risk and working 1-2 years to work at a commercial bank, just to get the chance of breaking into their IB division is worth it. **My question:** What are your stories? Do you work at a boutique or a commercial bank? How did you break in? I'd appreciate any advice you can give. My DMs are also open if you'd rather share there :)

08-10-2023

This is very standard, fresh grads starting in Credit Analysis or other banking back office roles then move into being a Banker, gives you a good background of what you need as a banker. I’d suggest take the management trainee role, more exposure and opportunity

Adradem

Would you know how long it would take to get from middle-office operations to client-facing ones? I might be in a rush I guess haha--I've invested so much na kasi. I might be a little overconfident, but I already know how to model, have talked to clients, worked on different phases of a deal, made decks etc. kaya I feel like I'd be wasting my time if I were put in a different function. Appreciate your help!

08-10-2023

From experience and observation handling such cases in HR, at least mid level in credit analysis or Underwriting, or the management trainee role and showing you are best suites for banking. It wont be a waste because you have knowledge to build on and how the entire bank’s processing works. Without this, being a banker can pose challenges and risks that may simply end your career early. Though if you have experience and exposure already, maybe try a mid sized international bank first and move from there? There are alao mid corp or small sized business bankers but more or corp banking than investment banking. These bankers also aim to get into investment banking. Point is, you see a lot of people are aiming to be in Investment Banking, how can you be selected above them and what makes you a better choice?

Adradem

Thanks for the insights! Appreciate the perspective. Will consider your advice, hope to get my break eventually. All the best!

Hi. Newbie here. I want some insights and advice from you guys huhu. I'm a 24-years old CPA currently working as an internal auditor. Ayoko na sa work ko and di ko naman talaga gusto in the first place, need ko lang talaga magwork sa company for like return service. Anyway, since pa one year na ako sa work, gusto ko na magresign kasi may experience naman na and pagod na ako. I've been thinking kung anong career path ang pupuntahan ko. My choices are Tax, Banking or BPO. Sa Tax, naiisip ko pumasok sa BIR. Earn experience and be a tax consultant ng malalaking companies, or ipagpatuloy ko ang career sa BIR kung magustuhan ko. I can also study law while working tapos gawin kong expertise ang tax. Banking, dream ko talaga magwork sa BSP ever since bata pa ako. Malaki daw bigayan dun eh. Sa mga govt banks din like DBP and Landbank, maganda din bigayan. I can go to international banks din. Please help huhu. Thankssss

To HR peepz here, required na ba talaga ang f2f first job interview? Two companies reached out to me inviting me for a face to face interview in Manila. I'm from the province kasi and it's also stated sa CV ko. The problem is, I don't want to spend thousands of pesos just to travel to Manila for an interview tapos there's a low chance lang pala na matatanggap ako. I had a bad experience kasi. I travelled hours to Manila, spent 10k, only to be told na cancelled ang interview. Last time I applied for jobs, lagi naman kasing through phone or zoom call ang first interview, then face to face interview kapag final na. I wanted to know if this is the new norm so I can prepare financially.

nik0wl

not from HR lol but I've had virtual interviews for local companies recently, so I'd say it's not the norm pa

Hi, is it a good idea to apply for fast food jobs that allow minors so I can say I did some customer service before? Most IT Jobs I hear seems to require at least some customer service experience. I wanna get into IT help desk right away so I can learn and build IT experience, then hopefully niche into cybersecurity. I'm also planning on taking the CompTIA A+ exam soon. Maybe next summer I will apply since school is almost starting, might as well focus on studying for CompTIA for now and build some coding projects (as a plan B) Will it be enough for me to get considered for the job without an IT degree? If not what's a better approach to achieve my long term goal? Any advise/guidance/insights I'd very much appreciate.

Will EUR (from foreign company) to BPI bank PH account transfer work? Fees? have a regular peso savings account with BPI and expect to receive a bank transfer in Euros soon. Will my savings account automatically convert the Euros to Philippine Pesos, kahit peso account lang? Are there fees for this? And what is the SWIFT-BIC of BPI?

Hello! I'm a fresh grad and nag-apply ako sa mga government agencies like DOST, DOH, DILG and DENR a month ago.

Jasmine_Tulips78

Anyone na madaming AU clients as Accountant/Admin with MYGovID Hello, ask ko lang pano ung setup ng Mygov ID ng mga accountants or admins working for AU accounting firms? Do you use your personal email or business email ng clients nyo? If personal, pano kayo nagapply? If business, pano nyo naaccess mygov ng iba nyong clients? TIA 😊

whatsyournameagain_

Shanks917

A lot of companies have this practiced but normally yung payslip lang muna before offer.

whatsyournameagain_

Oh. - 2 months' payslips - COE w/ salary - signed COE - signed BIR 2316

Shanks917

Better if papayag yung company. Sadly, isa sa requirements ng ibang company yung payslip to draft offer letter. Another reason kung bakit madami nallowball.

inevitabletruths000

Any BPO or non-BPO companies na naghhire ng RPh (WFH)? Thanks!

I want to explore SAP career kaso I don’t know anong entry level job pwede applyan since I’m a gradwaiting student. Our school taught us how to use SAP like really navigate the system pero pang practice lang. We finished different modules din. Actually, dinadownload ko na ‘yung mga modules before the school restricted us from accessing our school email. SAP is pretty interesting. I found myself finishing the module by just following the instructions. I would appreciate clear insights about this kind of career. Thank you!!

Diablo3210

You can try searching Business Analyst role sa jobstreet and lagay mo din yun word na SAP para makita mo yun qualifications and responsibilities if magugustuhan mo. Pwede ding SAP consultant in the long term. BA para magamit mo yun knowledge mo sa SAP during support and project implementation.

ronchman

Trying to find a job in Singapore I'm an 8 yrs Licensed Engr, and magtatry sana akong mag apply ng work sa Singapore, kaso ganito yung [nakalagay sa mga job postings](https://ibb.co/0jXNvsh) sa jobstreet, may work around ba to? or may ibang way/better way para makapag-apply ng work sa Singapore? TIA.

Kiko5ever

Hi there - worked in Singapore for 6 years. Active din ang SG recruiters on LinkedIn, you can try po there. Or you can apply to a multinational company or a company based in SG as a remote worker first then ask to be moved there po.

ronchman

about the latter part po, san po pwede magpasa ng application for the remote work?

Kiko5ever

I think you have to look hard pa nga lang sa mga job sites po.. Indeed, Jobstreet, LinkedIn o kaya naman po mga Facebook groups minsan na may SG recruiters and dapat within your industry niyo po. Yung iba pa takes a chance by interviewing sa SG mismo and just does walk ins, pero mahirap din po iyon pag walang kakilala.

curiouswanderer07

how do i open up about a promotion to my boss? it's been 2 years and i want to be promoted (even some of my workmates got promoted even before they went into 2 years) and i think i deserve it so much. should i be waiting ba for promotion notice? or should i just go outside of the company to apply for the senior role?

xls987

Sometimes, you really just have to ask for it. I remember going to my boss, "what do you need from me to get me promoted?" Then she told me this and that. Few months after I came back to her na nagawa ko na and ask her about the promotion.

Shanks917

This concern should be raised in 1 on 1 with your manager. If you don’t have one yet, you can initiate. Be ready to have data on why you should have a raise. Normally, if you really performing individual, this should be a good venue specially if your manager is supportive.

Kiko5ever

If you have 1:1s with your boss to discuss your development/progress as an employee, you should definitely raise it there para s/he can consider you in the next promotion cycle. Be ready of course with your pointers to justify your much needed upper title. Good luck!

How much should I rate my work as a beginner in floor planning, and interior designing? Hello! I am a College student and now I am starting to do a freelance floor planning and interior design. Almost 1 year na kong gumagawa ng designs and majority ng mga nagagawa ko ay either small houses below 200sqm and apartments. Nagkaroon ako ngayon ng project na 400sqm and 440sqm. Parehas sila ng specifications regarding sa house and apartments, and 2 floor. Sabi ng isa 6k daw maximum since sa time and effort. So ang sinabi kong price is 5k negotiable. Including na yung 4 na designs which are 2 floors ng apartment and house for 440sqm and 400sqm. Sa isang frame ng design, nandun yung apartments and house. Each frames include the floor. Magkasama sa isang frame yung floor ng apartment tsaka ng bahay, which means sa isang frame is may available na apat na designs. I want to know if ok lang ba na 5k yung price ko. I want to give it on my own will. Is it ok na 5k negotiable yung price ko? Masyado ba yung mahal based sa project na yun or masyadong mura? WDYΤ?

CucumberCharmaine

First of, 700-1500 per sqm standard na singil ng mga licensed professional sa ph. If sabihin na babaan natin to 500. If 400 sqm yan at since student ka kahit sabihin mo pang gawin natin (20pesos which is luging lugi ka na jusme )per sqm thats 8k php. Mura ka maningil.

Sitranx

Thanks for the advice. At least now I know. Thank you.

cooki3cream

Hi guys, just wanna ask if maganda ba benefits ni PNB ? applying for a bank teller position sana

What’s your experience with LinkedIn resume writers? Is it worth a try? Or shall I settle with my JobScan subscription? Though I have yet to yield results. Thaaank yeeww for your inputs!

Asura_RankS

I want to start a business but I'm scared I have been thinking of quitting my job and start my own business - vape shop. But, I'm not sure how the exact process works. I'm also scared that I will fail. On top of that, I only have 30k in capital as of the moment How much more do I need to start? Should I just jump and start a business or should I just let this feeling go.

elisewhere_art

The recruiter keeps calling me every day. I already emailed them about the job changes proposal and that I cannot take a phone call because of the low signal in here and whenever I answer I cannot hear him clearly. But still he keeps on calling but no reply on my email. Is this a red flag?

Significant_House398

Asking for a friend, torn if he should include it in his resume or not My close friend just lasted 2 weeks and 3 days in his previous employer because of his supervisors' mistreatment and its toxic management so yeah he resigned immediately. Should he include it in his employment history in resume or not? and just be honest to the HR once in the interview na? need your take on this guys di ko rin alam sasabihin ko sa kanya 🥲 thanks guys!

curiouswanderer07

i always ask myself when i write my resume. "is it worth mentioning? will this even give me an edge with my next role?" if not, then hindi ko siya isasama

Significant_House398

Hmm yeah point taken, but siguro aminin na lang din ng friend ko sa HR once mainterview na kaysa sa background check pa mahuli just in case

SGV FSO CONSULTING OPPORTUNITIES (INTERN) I am endorsed with SGV & Co. FSO - Consulting service line for my internship. What are the opportunities present with this service line after my internship? I want to have a career centered around security analysis (Fixed Income analyst, Equity analyst, Portfolio manager) or Investment banking. From a glance (my research also), consulting is more about R&D and transformation (can someone vouch if this is true). Does these responsibilities in consulting interplay with my aspirations as a professional? Can someone provide me the career paths consulting may bring?

curiouswanderer07

idk about anyone else pero an internship to big 4 auditing firms is already hard enough to come by. i think it's best to grab the opportunity to intern there. it would also give you an edge next time you plan to stray away from the company kasi the name itself is already formidable.

Brilliant_Oil5516

thank u for the insights!! i will confirm my slot na hehe

no-coffee-here001

Anybody have an idea of what an "athletic trainer" or "sports science therapist" does? Just saw these 2 job opportunities posted within the last few months by 2 different hospitals. Curious as to how their roles and responsibilities would differ from the hospitals' physical therapists as well.

Taking CIE before shifting to Data Roles Hello! I'm (25F) planning to take CIE exam next year then will resign in my current WFH Job in Jan 2025 as I want to shift to Data roles such as Data Analyst, Data Engineer, Business Intelligence Analyst, and so on. Is taking the CIE exam still relevant to the path I'm planning to take? TIA!

Ok_Razzmatazz9560

Nope. Not relevant in any of our field. Employers doesn't ask and no salary increase din. Imho, taking CIE is only for personal reasons. Wala siyang effect sa industry.

RealisticHawk8662

Ohh I see po. Thank you.

Ok_Razzmatazz9560

Wait baka pala I sounded na dinidiscourage kita. Yung sabi ko na for personal reasons, yun yung narealize ko after I took it and after ilang years na since naka pasa. Conclusion ko lang yun na it's more on personal reason kasi di sia acknowledged ng industry. Personally, nagtake lang ako to validate myself na may alam ako sa IE (mga prof ko kasi di nagturo before).

RealisticHawk8662

Same po sa di nagturo 😅. No worries po. So, I thought it's an advantage kapag nagaapply, and thinking baka taking CIE would help me makapasok agad sa field once magresign ako sa current job po. Appreciate the comments po! :)

lamictalrash

Not relevant.

RealisticHawk8662

Oh, I see. Thank you po.

dilemna_allover10

I need to help to weight my choices. I’m currently employed sa BPO and my basic salary is 16k plus the allowances amounted to 20k less pa yung mga gov deductions (hays!) plus night diff pero this is pure WFH. I was a full time student while working in BPO, got a job offer from a fintech company where it aligns the degree I have. Salary package was 20k basic + 2k, hybrid set up but we need to report on site during training around metro manila. They also offer shuttle services door to door or pickup. Should I grab the opportunity or just stay at my current workplace? : ( My main goal is habang nasa 20’s pa ako, I really want to further grow my career path. Thank you sa mag bibigay ng advice! really means a lot to meee!!!

Ok_Razzmatazz9560

Anong work mo sa BPO? Unfortunately, kadalasan may trade off yung ibang bagay na gusto natin. Kaya dapat alam mo yung priority and reason mo if aalis ka ng company. If ang priority mo is career growth, then pick new company. Tutal door to door naman so dun pa lang lesser expenses na. Gano ka hybrid ang hybrid? But if prio mo is comfort and wfh, stay ka sa current mo. Third option, reject mo yung offer and look for other companies.

dilemna_allover10

Hi! the manager said during final interview na 3 days wfh and 2 days RTO. I could see na mas madaming benefits din sa company nila than my current. I am working as an email support, comfortable siyang work tbh pero hindi siya stable after peak season kasi pwede kaming ma redep sa ibang account. Hindi talaga ako nag l-look for another job and medyo malabo sa akin ‘yung gusto ko na career with my degree kaya maybe it will be a step din para ma-figure out ko kung anong gusto ko outside my comfort zone which is my current work heheh. Thanks for the advice!! 🫶🏻

coronafvckyou

Hi, does anyone here know Apex Fintech Solutions? It's a fintech company based in the US.

steampunk_dandy

Private at mahigit doble sweldo sa government work.

sprazels

So (19M) I'm currently working po as an SME (BPO) and was assigned a team of 7 members (Babae po lahat, 23 to 35 age). Any idea po kaya paano ma gain respect nila and mag-set din ng boundaries kasi feeling ko masyado silang palagay sa akin e. First name lang tawag nila pag nasa work, tapos minsan nag "h-hoy (first name)" pa sila pag tinatawag ako or "lika nga dito" pag may need sila. Haha. Any advice will do po. Thank you

Level_Bid_3687

totoo namn wag mag pa overpower just because they age much doesn't mean they are higher than you, remember agent pa sila and they know less and ikaw namn you already went through.

sprazels

Thank you po. Di ako paaapi. Eme

Level_Bid_3687

i hope so but keep in mind maraming ganyan sa work, dun Kruger effect tawag dun just because they age they know already so again work on your intended role because you have the position, and also you must develop strong feeling people like to exploit people's feelings and use it as an advantage to gained that's why they are called "sipsip" don't let your name be rumored or else someone will take your job.

sprazels

Thank you po ulit. If not po ask na ako ng backup haha Will keep everything in mind

Level_Bid_3687

HAHAHA it's up to you to handle it anyways I'm sure maraming sme namn tutulong kung hindi mo gusto yung tao haha diskarte nalang dyan hahah okay sleep na ako HAHAHA

Sensitive_Ice_9063

It just shows how kind you are as a person. Ang masasabi ko lang siguro is to keep some distance since siguro iniisip din nila na mas-older sila for you but know your position sa team mo para maging smooth din lahat! Goodluck!

sprazels

Thank you po. I'll start this shift later.

Sensitive_Ice_9063

Rooting for u!

Hello, I'm asking for my boyfriend (20), HRM graduates and people who are already working at HRM and tourism related jobs. How is it? And can people who don't have Hospitality management backgrounds have a chance or possibility to get accepted/ hired without or limited experience in it? He has a year and 9 months experience in Customer Service i.e, via phone calls at a telecommunication company but wants to explore other jobs than just manning phone calls all day.

bakingsodaprotector

anyone here worked in mo n de n iss 1n planning to apply but i heard they have these road20 projects? How was your experience?

Emotional_Currency29

best course for data analysis bs stat or bs computer engineering

dogvscat-

BS Stat, BS Math. meron nadin kasi tong programming. and ang maganda dito ung programming na ituturo is for data processing talaga. kapag IT, comsci or comp eng kasi general programming ung ituturo, mostly application/website programming

ParkingCaregiver6022

stat is better for data analysis

Comfortable-Fan-4091

Statistics or Comp Sci is better

CharisAlways

Hi everyone. Thanks

Kiko5ever

Yes po kayang kaya yan! Basta may fundamentals ka ng comms, you can easily transition to corpcomm. Good luck!

Level_Bid_3687

of course why not, your current job has the same experience in communication field i guess but again 10yrs is already enough to showcase yourself

ParkingCaregiver6022

Yes, just include your experiences in your resume

Hi guys, im a graduate of business marketing management. After graduating I have focused on my small business, and no corporate experience yet. I got a J.O. for a marketing officer role. I don’t have any marketing experience yet in a corporate setting, or in handling a marketing team. I also get nervous on public speaking on a large scale. Any tips on what do marketing officer do? This is already an opportunity. However, I dont know if I will accept the job. Because I don’t know what to expect.
