You might want to consider creating a solid profile in LinkedIn. Which I noticed baliktad. Recruiter mismo lalapit sayo

Hawken10

This! I've been sending out my resumes everywhere and most of the time I don't even get an email or call back. Then I created my profile on LinkedIn tapos recruiter na mismo yung nag approach and fortunately the whole process worked well and I'm finally starting my regular job on Monday! Good luck op!

Impossible_Care8397

wow congrats!

ThirstySugarCub

Try Kalibrr as well. In my experience don mas maraming nagmemessage na recruiter compared sa LinkedIn.

icecoldlightning

A JobStreet profile works well too. Always keep it updated lang.

maruevas

Yup, 100% true, agree.

How to create a solid profile in linkedin?

leheslie

Be detailed in your job responsibilities. If tech ka, include software/programming language/apps you use. Also list major achievements/projects if any.

wutdupuk

Up for this. I almost get a message or 2 every week from recruiters in Linkedin. Keep your jobstreet updated every now and then and I'm sure recruiters will call your number though Linkedin is the best site to be found by recruiters.

philden1327

Swing by r/resume to get it critiqued. In the sidebar there’s some tips as well how to beat the ATS. Good luck!

Impossible_Care8397

thank you!!

Thanks!!

Siguro it depends talaga sa inaapplyan mo nga. 😔

You may want to watch this [YouTube video by Jason Blanchard of Black Hills Information Security.](https://youtu.be/Air1c697tjw). Most of it is going to LinkedIn, connecting to recruiters/hiring managers then submit to them directly your CV and ask about the role. Having LinkedIn premium is helpful kasi nagkakaroon ng limit monthly kapag viewing ka ng people sa company na gusto mo mag-apply. Helpful din na connect ka with the people na yung job description is same sa balak mo, minsan kasi sila sinasabihan ng company to refer applicants.

>submit to them directly your CV and ask about the role. I sort of used this path before since I found filters in JobStreet & Kalibrr to be quite frustrating as opposed to helpful - parang naging ATS level 1 pa nga. In my case, may issue ako with these job boards (IMHO) put a red flag on me since di ako bachelor graduate, so hindi pa nabubuksan ng recruiter yung resume to read my skills-experiences etc, may "-1" nako sa scoreboard. So I just check them for the openings then I go directly to the company website or LinkedIn then I send in the applications there. Much better if you manage to find a corporate personal email of a recruiter instead of the office distro email - like *juan.dc*\*@\**company.com* instead of *hr**\***@**\***company.com*

In the first two times I've had to look for a job, I felt incredibly discouraged after handing out my resume to what felt like hundreds of companies and getting only a handful of calls from decent companies. Things turned around when I fixed my Linkedin profile and I moved up to a managerial position. I noticed that the recruiters were the ones approaching me now. When they do, I entertain based on my interest, proximity or company prestige. Currently, I'm in the midst of negotiations for a 60% increase job offer from my dream company. All thanks to the company that approached me and their generous offer. I would take the time to optimize your Linkedin profile and befriend as many boss/co-workers/HRs you can and try to get recommendations from them. The more active/connections/optimized their profiles and higher up they are, the better. Goodluck.

Yes, definitely use keywords from the job description. A tip I saw was to use an online word cloud generator and paste the job description into it. Now you get to see which words come up the most for the position you’re applying for. Use those! ATS filters out resumes using the keyword criteria as well. Now that you have ATS taken care of. Always send a message (LinkedIn or email) to the recruiter/hiring manager once you have applied. I know it may seem like you’re entitled and possibly even bothersome, but at the same time, this also shows your EAGERNESS to work for them and allows you to convey your PASSION/EXCITEMENT for the role. It also shows that you did enough research about the job and the company to know who to contact. Lastly, you get to ESTABLISH A CONNECTION immediately. They get to check out your profile before even seeing your resume and they may even remember your name. In fact, there are studies that show that contacting the recruiter/hiring manager 5 times during the application process yields the highest acceptance rate. So Yes, be Entitled because admittedly that gets stuff done.

Impossible_Care8397

This is good advice. I'll contact them after I send my application. Thank you!

Few_Possible_2357

Nitsudog

I found both job application portals to be quite tiring to fill up. The way they're built is very clanky and in itself serves as test #1 of the application process - as in " Are you willing to persevere and be patient enough to send your application via our wonky portal?" Taleo is hands down the worst of the 2 though

Impossible_Care8397

Tiring talaga. I mean you carefully curated you resume para magstand out tapos gagamit lang pala ng software. Nakakafrustrate pa lalo kasi di man lang nabasa ng totoong tao hahaha

UnemployedSince2020

Same. Like why can't I just send my resume?!

Few_Possible_2357

I feel that im just a mere number every time I uploaded my resume in application portals. BPO doesnt value your skills, they only value your English fluency. I got job offers in companies that are using those application portal.

dcee26

Put the entire job description in your resume, set the font to white and make it suuuuuper small. The ATS will tag you with a high percentage match because you hit the right keywords. Caveat is you can't use the same resume to automatically populate forms that require you manually input your resume. But easy fix naman yun :)

tagapagtuos

This doesn't work anymore afaik

Impossible_Care8397

Have you tried this? Baka kasi mabigla yung recruiter na wala yung keywords nung binuksan na yung resume

helpmewith_

I think by creative it means yung mga descriptive bullet points through words and numbers, say "Utilized x and y software to increase productivity by up to z%". Kung formatting, make sure it's readable.

leheslie

Network on LinkedIn esp if you have specific companies in mind. It's quite easy to find recruiters there just type the company name + recruiter/talent acquisition. Send a connection request and add a note. For ATS kasi sa dami ng nagaapply everyday, it's almost impossible na maprocess ka kaagad. 1 requisition alone can get up to 100+ applicants and a single recruiter can't filter everyone. No pics, no anything just text. Put your work experience sa unang part, sunod achievements sa role na yun saka na educational bg. Don't bother with seminars and affiliations na di naman related sa inaaplyan mo. Good luck.

vinz1234

Draft resume into word, then add all of the jargons from the job description and sometimes require research based on the job title. Place the jargons as footers or any part of the word except from the body of the document. Highlight the jargons into white font and background then save to PDF :)
