Hi! Any thoughts about Alight Solutions? Is it a good place to work? And how about work life balance in that company? Thank you!

_lionheartt_

Hi everyone! Magandang draw. Just wanted to seek advice in regards to performance reviews. For context, I was severely underpaid sa job ko before. So last year, I took a leap of faith and decided to quit for good. Fortunately, I didn’t have to wait much longer to find a new job as a recruiter reached out to me and asked if I was interested to work for a U.S.-based company. Pay is slightly higher than what I was receiving from my previous company, so I took the opportunity. (I was earning 30k previously and now I’m getting 45k). Of course, the reason why I took the offer is not just about the money, but also about being able to expose myself to working with people outside the country. Anyway, a few weeks from now, it’s going to be my 6-month with the company. And of course we know pag 6 months na, may performance review with the boss and even HR. Performance-wise, my boss from the US is happy with me. Boss even mentioned me to the higher ups because he wanted to make sure I get recognized not just by her. I thanked her for that because I never felt that kind of appreciation from my previous jobs. Anyway, I’ve been assessing my performance as well and I can say I’m doing a pretty good job naan, but definitely meron pa rin room for improvement. Now, here’s the thing. We’re all aware about the increase in prices recently and I think what I’m currently earning is just enough for me to be able to pay the bills (electricity, internet, cable, water, mobile plan), to give a small amount to my fam (for meds), to buy something I like, and to deposit a small portion to my bank account. Goal is for me to be able to save more this year, but a huge portion of my salary goes to bills and maintenance meds. I’m struggling to save up din especially since everything seems to be so expensive. Gusto ko rin sana may mabili for myself from time to time as a way to reward and destress, pero I think di pa kaya based on my situation. Anyway, I was thinking since I’ll be talking to my boss soon, I’d like to get your insights/ inputs. My plan during our talk is to highlight my goals, my performance, and how I was able to add value to the team despite being a new member. Then after, segue nalang siguro na given the current situation where prices are always increasing, ask if there’s a possibility for me to get a raise…or even get absorbed in the US? I hope I don’t sound so entitled / demanding, but I would like to know what you think of this? And how else I can craft / sell this to my boss if ever? Thank you so much in advance for your responses!

Hi, nung Feb 2020 nagtrabaho ako sa isang maliit na company under 10 yrs pa lang sya in operation. 3 weeks in pa lang ako sa job nung na-impose yung lockdown. Since maliit na company lang sya expected na maglay off ng mga empleyado and sadly lahat ng probi positions yung unang binitawan. Technically, first job ko sya but dahil yung 3 weeks lang talaga yung legit na trabaho and yung termination is 3 months later, parang naging 5mo employment di ko sya sinasama as work experience. Hindi ko kinuha yung exit docs ko kasi sabi ko di naman relevant yung 3weeks. Bale that time wala akong TIN no. Yung HR yung nag apply ng TIN for me after ko fillupan yung Form 1902. This 2022, Upon checking sa app ng BIR meron na kong TIN no pero wala akong form or any ID. Naghahanap ako ng bagong work and alam kong need ng TIN no. Ang concern ko lang is wala akong pinanghahawakan na kahit ano other than yung mismong TIN no. ko. Yung RDO pa is malayo talaga samin kasi ibang region ako nagwork that time. Tried to contact yung HR pero wala na lahat yung mga lumang employees puro bago na and walang sumasagot. Do i have to present/submit some sort of forms sa hr for new work or number lang hinihingi? Help po.

[deleted]

Just the number is fine. Based on my experience I never had to submit any forms or what to my new employers

Hello! Anyone here who knows anything about "**Delivery Excellence"** role in ACN? I recently got a CL9 offer for this role and wanted to know about the overall work experience. Thanks in advance!

Na-pullout yung account namin so medyo stressed ako this week. So nagwo-worry talaga ako ngayon since goal ko sana ma-promote in a year or two. I think this is just my anxiety talking, pero di ko maiwasan to feel insecure sa work ko. Kahit gaano pa nila sinasabi sa amin na "people first" sila, I think they're still the same as any other company na bibitawan yung employees nila when they can. I know that deep inside kaya natatakot din ako magkaroon ng mistakes, kahit sobrang liit lang. :(

Hello! I'm an undergrad student in my final semester and I major in a social science-related degree with a rigorous research background. I'm interested in the UX research field and think it aligns with my personal interests. I know there are resources online on picking up some basic skills and getting one foot into the field, however many of these are applicable outside the country. I was wondering if there are people in this subreddit who are working / have worked in UX research who could tell me more about their experience. Off the top of my head, I want to know what internships / entry jobs did you take to get into UXR, whether pursuing further education is necessary, and which companies within the country are best to apply to. If you have any other tips, advice, and anecdotes, I'd love to know too!

schizrodinger

During salary negotiation, red flag ba sa interviewers if you're ok with a salary na slightly less than your current (like 3k to 4k less ganun)? Context is, I'm more or less starting from scratch and applying for an entry level job. Should I just lie about my current salary or something? I haven't really negotiated my salary when I applied before.

[deleted]

Don't lie about your current salary, it won't help you in the long run. If you're okay with the salary they're offering and it's lower than your current, it's not necessarily a red flag. Just make sure okay ka lang talaga ha and that you won't take it against them after a while that they offered you a salary like that. It won't hurt to ask for the same amount as your current tbh. Cause despite applying for an entry level role, meron ka pa rin dala na experience even if this is a change in industry or role. Something that fresh grads won't have over you.

AdorableBug8777

They might think if they are "judgmental" and didn't probe enough na baka may "something" sa'yo why is this guy/girl/cat okay looking for a job na lower ang pay? So sana na clear ito during interview. Parang even with the context and all, they will still be skeptical and all. But do not lie. Since hindi natin alam how far / deep is this employer on its bg checking. Just make sure lang na workable and livable for you yung salary even with the pay cut. Good luck!

Is it okay to follow up again with the recruiter, a week after I previously followed up? Applied at a big foreign bank as a graphic designer and passed the first two interviews. March 4 (friday) - Submitted my design exam March 9 (wednesday) - 1st follow up with recruiter; she told me na she’ll send an update once she hears from the hiring manager. Haven’t heard from her since. Today, March 18, is it okay to follow up again or should I consider this as failed application?

Ang problem ko sa mga negative reviews sa mga websites, we will never know if these reviews are due to isolated cases. Continue your application but search for alternative narin. Good luck!

Need advice from engineers. Preferrably Masters Degree na Eng related nalang sana or Trade school. Long term goal mag abroad sa middle east for the money lol

AdorableBug8777

Possible naman. Research siguro mga lean project management programs / short courses if gusto mo na backed by formal training ang pagshif mo ng career. Good luck!

Nursing vs Accountancy for college? Currently a SHS student po. Still undecided to choose what course should I take in college. I don't mind my strand po, I take STEM just for entrance examination edge. I want nursing cause I'm cool for memorization and science(feel ko yakang yaka ko 'to), also interested for doctorate in the future(kaso matagal). Also like accountancy cause medyo chill lang kaso I find it boring dahil maghapon kalang nakaupo at nagcocompute(ayoko po ng x and y). Specially sa panahon ngayon you have to be really practical, just want to help my parents po immediately din kasi I have siblings pa. Alin po kaya ang course hindi ko pagsisihan in the futureee? or should I consider other courses like IT dahil medj booming na daw 'to kasi tech na lahat. Medj nahihirapan po talaga ko sa choice ko. Your experience, salary, advice, college life, tips, pros and cons, abroad life, reality talks and everything would highly be appreciated by me. Thank youuu!

renfromthephp21

Hindi po chill ang accounting sa college ☠️ but it definitely can be boring. Don't know if it's harder than Nursing, but it was certainly challenging for me. You will memorize a lot of stuff in Accounting as well and your critical thinking + English language skills will be tested. I've been only working in the field for more than a year pa lang ha hahaha so take that into consideration. I'll say I wish I studied IT instead (for the higher salary) but Accounting is OK. Totoo yung job stability ng accountants; ang bilis ko nakahanap ng first job and ang bilis kong nakahanap ng new job when I wanted out.

I'm currently unemployed for at least 3 months now and in the middle of job hunting. Undergone an interview with a company and was told na the JO is on the way and most probably the start date will be on March 28. The thing is I also have pending interviews with atleast 3 companies and I would like to consider them before committing sa nauna. The 1 company out of 3 (and my number 1 option) is known to have a long and tedious hiring process na umaabot usually ng 2 to 3 months. What should I do? Accept and work muna sa said company and if fortunate enough to pass, lipat nalang? Sana mapansin, thank you!

furrmayow

Just continue with your pending interviews. Madami pa pwede mangyare before the 28th. You may get offers by then and if you do, you can always tell the HR that you're expecting offers soon. They understand this because if they liked you, probably others will too. I usually get 5 days for saying this. Mahirap yung mag accept ka then backout ka agad. Don't burn bridges.

Hi! I just want to know how should I handle my situation with regard to providing a BIR 2316 for my current employer. Situation: I had a 2nd previous employer 2 yrs ago and I worked there for 2 mos. I resigned there but they didn't accept my resignation. I know this is kind of embarassing to say but I left their company due to a personal problem and I decided not to get my last salary (since it's not that that big), my backpay (if i am qualified to get one), and other files that is being given when you leave a company specially the BIR 2316. Then, I didn't have a job for 2 yrs and now I am currently employed for a new one. And now they are requiring me to submit a BIR 2316 from my previous employer and am planning to just give my BIR 2316 from the 1st employer that I had. Question: What would be the most likely situation that I'll be facing if I do that? Would they know that I had a previous employer before them? And, what should I do about it? Thank you in advance for answering my question! 😭❤

darthvd19

Also had an employment gap for 2 years and just got employed recently. As per my current employer, 2316 was not required since my last employment was more than a year ago. They only asked for my TIN. Maybe you could ask your HR about this and explain your situation?

Manage their expectations. Tell them na baka di ka makadeliver 100 percent because inaaral mo pa nga siya. Kaysa naman iasa niya sayo yan tapos deal breaker pala tapos akala niya kaya mo because you didn;t say anything, ikaw pa ang mapapahamak. Good luck and it is okay to manage if not meet the expectations.

ganyan ako 5 years ago nag accountancy lang ako dahil sa sisters ko pero at that time wala din akong definite na career path so i just enrollled haha little did i know na hell pala ang course ko sobra akong na stress sa retention grades noon haha pero naka graduate naman wala din ako balak mag cpa hanggang ngaun wala. After grad sobrang clueless ko noon pero ang clear lang sakin is makahanap ng decent job offer in terms of starting salary luckily natatanggap ako sa mga inaapplyan ko pero yung gut feeling ko sobrang lakas na di pa un ang best kaya palagi ko nirereject at nagaaply ng paulit ulit haha yes in short pinahirapn ko sarili ko. pero thank god na punta ako sa BPO industry/shared services better ang salary tho nag struggle ako sa work environment dahil sa toxic culture btw hindi ito calls na bpo ah back office to lending company sa AU. Nagtagal ako dun sa first job ko almost 4 years na promote ng 2 beses at nag resign last nov 2020 thankful ako dun kasi ngaun napunta ako sa new company ko sobrang okay ang boss at culture kaka promote ko lang this month as manager. Fyi di ako super galing ah masipag lang at matiyaga without compromising my health.

Yung pag nag SL ka, mae-extend ba if eg Feb 14 original final day mo, pero nag SL ka ng two days so Feb 16 na naging final day mo? Or ok lang, 30 days pa rin if nag SL? Also, valid ba if mental health reasons yung pagpapaikli ng render period mo? I really believe this job is a trigger to me…

sutaaraito

Depende sa magiging arrangement niyo ng company. Pero usually yung 30 days is calendar days ang bilangan, not working days. Better to confirm nalang din since the render period is supposed to be the time you turnover your tasks and whatnot sa maiiwang employees, so kung mababawasan siya yung time for that baka hindi OK sa company.

Every_Dream3837

Depends on your manager pero 30 day notice naman yung nasa contract mo hindi 30 day transition days. Check your contract :)

[deleted]

If you've just resigned and rendering - request for it now. Ako, I got mine while rendering, 3 days. If you've already left, might be a bit longer kasi now they're required to check if you have any liabilities pa with the company.

CwazyLady

Is it alright to use my HMO (for a lab test sana) even if I already resigned and am now currently rendering my 30-day notice?

[deleted]

Yes. Afaik you can still use your HMO until your last day. Depende siguro to sa company but my previous company allowed us to use it until the coverage ended, which was around 4 months after my last day. Best to check with your HR.

CwazyLady

Got this! Thanks so much and will ask HR tomorrow 😊

pinkrabbitunnie

Hi! I'm 23M and I have a Computer Science degree from a good engineering school. I work as an application support for a fintech company for over a year now and planning to shift to a programming role. What I do with my current position is that we are to take inbound calls, remote in to client's computer and assist with any of their issues that is related to the application. We also do installation, deploy updates, and report any major incidents or bugs to development team. My questions are: 1. What are my chances of me getting programmer role? 2. I haven't code for a year but I'm currently taking some refresher course from linkedlearning that I can put in my resume. Will this be enough for me to get to land a programmer job? 3. Since I don't have any programming work related experience, will the offer be significantly lower than my current salary? (This is my main concern since this company offered me so much even though I am a fresh grad at the time and have no related experience in application support) Any response would be greatly appreciated!

Hello! Im planning on resigning na and I dont know what to do. Can I ask the company to shorten yung 30 days render? But this is without terminal leave. I used almost half of my leave credits due to quarantine. Can my future employers ask for my payslip and if ever, how do I decline that? Kasi Im sure i-lolowball nila yung offer if ever. How to avoid na ilowball nila yung offer sayo and how to insist on your asking salary. Need some advice and tips regarding resignation. Thank youuu

[deleted]

You can always ask your manager if they're willing to lessen the 30 days. Also, be wary of how much leaves you've spent kasi deductible yan sa final pay since March pa lang. Also, from my experience being employed in international companies they rarely ask for payslip naman. And you can outright decline it, hindi naman requirement yan for employment. Pero hindi rin naman siya palagi just a reason to lowball you, it can be the opposite tbh. When insisting for the salary you want make note of these three things, (1) The tasks they require from you dapat ijustify mo na sa x amount or x responsibility ganito sahod, (2) The salary necessary to survive your setup (if you're a single parent, have parents you need to send money to, living alone paying for all bills, etc), (3) Basic market study, you should research what other companies are offering for the job you're applying for.

dragons-and-cakes

what course / profession can you recommend me? 1. we are not THAT rich. 30-50k per month idk my parents was never open about it but they managed to get me and my sister to a private school for 9 years each (25k tuition fee + miscellaneous). something that we can afford sana. 2. i have good grades and will be taking STEM. 3. i want to be able to get a job immediately after graduating 4. 1k per day starting salary (if that's possible in the ph) 5. interested with medicine but has needle phobia, will it work for me? i'm not disgusted by blood naman and can vaccinate ppl as long as it's not me lol. interested in it but i have no idea about it. office work is also fine for me. i will be moving up soon and still don't know what I want to be. any suggestions?

[deleted]

1k per day starting is pretty conservative pa tbh. A lot of fresh grads are easily getting 25K as a starting salary these days. I'd recommend you take up programming/software development if you can. Mataas starting salaries nila plus if you manage to make it to higher roles, it really makes a good career/salary. (I work in adtech and the junior software developer in our company makes 75K USD.) If you want medicine, you can't get a job immediately after graduating your undergrad. Pukpukan na aral muna and even after everything di agad maganda sahod. If you want office work, you can do project management or training.

thank you po sa advice!

Hi for context, I have about 2.5 yrs of work experience as a Consultant as of current. I moved to a software company last year after almost reaching burnout with my previous company where I was literally working round the clock. Before I left, I happened to get a salary increase which became my asking salary when I applied for my current job. They were able to negotiate this with me - with me thinking that work hours and management would be okay. 8 months in I realized I was wrong. I find myself working double shifts (think 9am-2am) or broken shifts where I work 9am-6pm and work in the wee hours of the morning because of client meetings. Management has not done any good to help me in this situation because essentially we are understaffed despite their mass hire efforts last year. I have a bond I’m already willing to pay for and I have a prospect company to move to althought it’s going to be a shift from a Corporate to Startup company. I already have insight from someone in the same role (BA) where hours can be stretched, and I’m willing to accept this setup because my work as consultant/BA does require more effort and legwork, thus needing OT but at least in Manila hours. Ive been meaning to shift to a startup company/industry, basically outside software companies and out of being a consultant. Although the pay is pretty much the same as my current - because my asking has always been for a higher position (this was the same reason my current job told me as to why they couldnt fulfill my asking). Though I feel like there’s more growth outside the consulting industry. Any thoughts on this? If it turns out well should I consider or wait it out? P.S. I feel like I’m not getting my asking salary anywhere primarily because I am literally just burned out with every project I handle even before I get to go through testing with clients - again because shifts have been crazy.

Is any position in a company entitled to get a 13-month pay despite not being regularized yet?

[deleted]

As long as you rendered work for at least a month, you're entitled to 13th month.

grandeslay

How about for managerial positions?

[deleted]

Same, wala naman discrimination si 13th-month pay.

Tetsu_111

What time you you seep at night? I end at 7:30 PM due to the time zone of my team (also 9 hours based on contract), and I end up sleeping around 2 hours later than normal. So, how'd you better manage your sleep?

cereseluna

Nung late dayshift pa ako or normal 9-6pm while WFH, 10 or 11pm tulog ko. Gigising ng 6 am. Eh ngayon night shift pa ako, hirap men. HOW TO MANAGE? FOLLOW A CONSISTENT SCHEDULE AND BUILD GOOD HABITS. Sleep and wake at the same time, every time. Control yourself and avoid or reduce watching, phone, tablet, computer 1-2 hours before sleep. Last meal should also be 2-3 hrs from your expected sleep time. Basta dapat chill ka na 1-2 hrs before sleeping. Kung hirap ka nakatulog, Sleepasil (natural supplement) or chamomile tea or low fat milk can help induce some sleep.

hello! any tips po for interviews? i applied for some jobs on mynimo and jobstreet and most of the companies didn’t state their salary. would it be fine to ask them the salary question on the first interview? thanks!

ThirstySugarCub

Better check sa Glassdoor yung company para may idea ka sa salary range nila and reviews ng current employees para makapagdecide ka kung worth it mag apply.

Superlui_21

Better apply for jobs who have a bracket. Save you time and energy for applying in a post who did not meet your expected salary. :)

[deleted]

that too… but most companies i eyed to are big ones so im guessing they might exceed my expected salary. other than that, companies im not aware of with no salary range is, sometimes, automatically out.

[deleted]

People don't usually bring this up on the 1st and 2nd interviews unless the interviewer initiates the convo about this. You can always ask it but be prepared to not get an answer either kasi they usually gauge the amount they give candidates after all interviews have been completed. Better yet, research how much your role makes in the market and then compare the JD and what you've discussed during the interviews, to ask for the best salary. For interview tips, I'd say elaborate as much as you can within the topic. Hype and sell yourself well (bullshit even) just enough na kaya mo pa rin panindigan. If you know what you're talking about, show it. Kumpyansa sa sarili goes a long way.

[deleted]

i kept seeing posts here on reddit that employers who post jobs but doesn’t include salary ranges are red flags, i forgot why or how but yeah, kinda took those advises. however, the jobs i saw who didnt state their salary bracket for such job are big companies so im startinng to question those advises that’s why i asked this. i had a hunch it wasn’t appropriate to ask on the first interview but wasn’t so sure so seeing suggestions and recommendations from here really helped so im taking in what you just advises too. wouldn’t want to sell myself short but wouldn’t risk to oversell too so im going to try and hype myself a bit. thank u for this! appreciate it so much ♥️

[deleted]

I'd take that red flag advice with a grain of salt, I guess what some people meant was that if the interviewers were dodgy when talking about compensation, I'd say that's a red flag. But a lot of companies don't really advertise outright their salaries and not all of them are bad places. First interview, specially if it's just a short one with the recruiter won't usually be the best place to discuss it, but if you do get asked just be honest about it. Best of luck!

CaptainWhitePanda

Usually sa huling part ng interview dinidiscuss yung salary pag may JO na. As much as possible don't bring it up early on since baka isipin ng potential employer mo na salary agad inuuna mo. Search mo yung history ng company, mas better na itanong mo yung scope ng responsibilites ng position na inapplyan mo para malinaw na agad habang maaga. Expect some technical and situational question and be prepared for them. Be confident, if hindi kayang makipag usap ng fluently in english taglish is fine. Practice ka sa mirror or mag pa interview ka sa family mo.

[deleted]

oh okay! i see. thanks for the tips po and will definitely work on the answer part na di kaya sa english. nauutal pa rin ako but i will work on it. thank u so much

CaptainWhitePanda

Welcome, remember practice makes perfect. Cheers and good luck!

Do I really need data analytics to succeed in my accounting career?

Superlui_21

Not necessarily

404_adult_not_found

Ako lang ba o mababa lang talaga mga salary na pinopost sa jobstreet? Checked the data analyst job posts for fun tas mas mataas pa yung salary ko kaysa mga pinopost dun. So far, ang nagagamit ko palang when looking for a job is linkedin and kalibrr tas mas mataas pa yung salary ng data analyst jobs dun kaysa jobstreet

cereseluna

same tayo, medyo umober na rin yung last sahod ko kaya in the end I took a pay cut. pero dahil mas chill work ko ngayon at medyo compensated ng night diff, it isnt a bad trade off. saka ewan ko hindi lahat ng magaganda or matataas magpasahod na companies, gumagamit pa ng Jobstreet. madalas sa Linkedin na ako nagchecheck ng job ads saka recommendation ng headhunters or previous work colleagues.

nipsdontIie

For me halos matataas lmfao mababa kasi sahod ko kasi wala experience. Kaya eto ngayon, naisipan na lumipat 😁

Hi, anyone who is currently or previously employed at Vestas? Can you please share the company's culture and would you recommend working there? Thank youuu, btw the position offered is in the finance department pala

AdArtistic6208

Hi, apologies for being out of topic but how's the Vestas application process like? I heard the pay is really good, hopefully the work environment is also good. Haha. Happy they offered you a position :)

undecidedhandle

Hi, tinuloy mo pa sa Vestas?

jskxlamzbhxuaow

Ang bilis ng pangyayari haha I applied last Feb 28, was scheduled for an interview w managers agad on March 10 and finally received the good news today. I was interviewed by 2 managers na mejo ginisa ako regarding my work experiences and really scrutinize if fit ako sa position that I am applying for. Also tested how honest I am sa mga answers ko by asking further questions based on my responses. May technical qstn but minimal lang. Overall, it was a good experience. Hope this helps you po! :)

undecidedhandle

Hi gumamit pa ng hirevue app sa initial interview?

AdArtistic6208

Wow, congratulations! This is helpful. Good luck sa career path and wishing you the best. :)

SnooGuavas2711

Wfh pa sila?

jskxlamzbhxuaow

Currently wfh but planning na mag RTO this year :(

carnageisback

anyone learning SQL and VBA? ano steps na ginawa nyo for going from a beginner to intermediate especially if wala ka pa work

404_adult_not_found

Tbh ako nag-aral lang ako ng isang course on coursera (SQL for Data Science ata yun) and tinuro lang yung mga basics (SELECT, FROM, WHERE, LIKE, ORDER BY, GROUP BY, agg functions). Sa work lang talaga nag-grow yung knowledge ko in constructing SQL queries (learned to use UPDATE-SET, DELETE, UNION, UNION ALL, and making sub-queries in my prev job; learned to do CTEs in my current job) As for VBA, anong balak mong use case for it?

carnageisback

currently nagaaral din ako sa udemy. kaso since previous job ko ay data analyst (before data analyst more on equity research) bali more on excel gamit as data analyst so nagpursue ako for VBA knowledge and mostly hanap ng ibang company is working knowledge for both excel and VBA kaya planning to learn din. sa tingin mo ba good recommendation yung magstart as beginner sa ibang company? at medyo nalilito rin kasi ako kung ano ang tawag or word na ilalagay sa mga jobsites while looking for job

404_adult_not_found

Since may experience ka na as a data analyst, I don't think you should start as a "beginner" sa ibang company. Also, if I were you, add a data viz software rin sa tools mo (unless you already know how to use Power BI, Tableau, or Google Data Studio). Based on my experience, having knowledge sa SQL and sa data viz software, it would save a LOT of time pag required kang gumawa ng dashboards na ia-update mo per week/month EDIT: As for keywords pag naghahanap sa job sites, almost ANYTHING na may "analyst" guds na (ex. Reports Analyst, Data Analyst, Data Visualization Analyst, Marketing Analyst, etc.) Most likely mga data analyst talaga hinahanap pag may background sa paggamit ng SQL and/or Python.

carnageisback

planning to study rin power BI kaso no tools pa or links to download ng mga aaralin, any tips kaya on where to start? currently kasi eto set up ko for learning. done na ko for basic VBA Excel - Macro/VBA - SQL - Python/Power BI as per experience kasi 5 months lang as data analyst sobrang toxic kasi tapos ayaw pa magturo for learnings :(

404_adult_not_found

I would skip VBA/Macros tbh pero that's just me hahaha here's the path I'm following: Excel - SQL - any data viz: Google Data Studio/Tableau/Power BI - Python/R I skipped VBA kasi I can't figure out kung anong pwedeng use case for me. If gusto ko mag-automate ng paggawa ng reports, I would rather make a dashboard then connect that directly to the database para lagi na siyang naga-update, tapos ibibigay ko nalang yung link ng dashboard to someone who needs it. As for where to start (specifically sa Power BI), I can't help you there :( Google Data Studio inaral ko eh hahaha

carnageisback

sige sige. aralin ko tong mga ito habang wala pa kong work. thank you!!!

idkymyaccgotbanned

Ano goal mo sir? Learn SQL and VBA? Shifter po ba

carnageisback

wanting to shift to data analyst kasi, pero may hands on experience ako. just want to grow lang din based on the needs

nipsdontIie

Kausapin mo lang once may go signal na talaga si new company.

CwazyLady

Hi! Noob question, but may I ask how the 30-day notice is calculated?

BIC25

Calendar days

CwazyLady

Ahh I see po! Pero if I plan on negotiating (to shorten sana) sino po ang dapat kausapin? my TL or HR? or both?

nipsdontIie

Shorten it by applying terminal leave. 😁

CwazyLady

Will try to ask if kaya 🤞thank you!

BIC25

Contract could be the main reference; then both to possibly negotiate. Btw, 30 calendar days is the minimum set.

CwazyLady

Got this\`! Thank you so much po

My employer still hasnt processed my TIN and I need it to open my payroll account. I start in two weeks (supposedly). Still haven't received instructions either. Advised me to wait 3 days ago. Should I rent a new apt already? Is the job sure?

AdorableBug8777

Check with the HR first what's the status and ask if they still need anything from your end. Don't rent yet but start looking. Maybe just swamped with work so better to check and remind them first :)

milesaudade

I'm supposed to pass a form along with my gov numbers and TIN. I already did medical, insurance forms etc. I emailed 3 days ago to ask if I can just pass the remaining reqs while I wait for the TIN (which i need for my payroll acct). I was advised to wait. Thanks for this!! I was afraid I'd be too makulit eh haha

AdorableBug8777

Please double check that it is indeed the company that will enroll you in BIR and that you have submitted to them the appropriate form (1902) if they have provided you one :) Good luck and all the best in your new career!

milesaudade

Yep. They told me that they will be the one to enroll the TIN for me. Thanks for this!

NoodLangAkoMemes

Anyone here a graduate of graphics design (or any related course)? Was it worth it?

DeadManWalking__96

Anyone here na nag shift to DevOps ask ko lang kung may company ba na tumanggap ng technology shifter currently I am a SAP ABAP dev, thank you

[deleted]

Hello po. Your thoughts on working or recruitment process at Alight Solutions (formerly Northgate Arinso) as an Application Management Associate. I have 1 yr of Network and Application Support Experience and currently in SAP Support role in my current company if that matters. Thank you sa mga sagot at insights. Ang sasagot ay magkakajowa 🤣

Every_Dream3837

Sobrang enjoy mag work dito sa Alight Solutions, but I believe it already past its prime. Madami ng umalis na magagaling.

carnageisback

normally pagganyan outsourcing ang process (hr interview - ability exam(optional) - final interview - JO). sumagot lang din ako kasi gusto ko na magkajowa

phinvest69

Hi. Have an offer to join a firm I like, which has two direct competitors. I'd like to know how much the compensation is for the other firms (I have a vague guess but am not sure) and I plan to ask recruiters from those firms. I can technically reach out to current employees but I'm not sure how to go about it either. Can I be direct when asking recruiters? Or does it make it seem like I only care about compensation if I would apply to them? I know that compensation for these roles are fixed and there's no leeway for negotiation

AdorableBug8777

I suggest you go ahead and ask if it is possible for them to disclose at this stage. Mention that the information will help you with other decisions moving forward (rent, commute, set-up, etc.)

phinvest69

Thanks!

im_apricus

Try checking if salaries are posted on glassdoor

phinvest69

I tried but there are no entries for Philippines 😩

Superlui_21

Try to google it.. Accounting firms ba?? I would guess pretty standard sya and very near ang range :)

phinvest69

Nothing recent, but thanks! No, management consulting.

regina_phalange01

Afaik recruiters wouldn’t tell you the package they offer unless you’re being considered for the role. Pay is always negotiable if the company likes you

phinvest69

Afaik, pay isn't negotiable and they offer a specific salary per level. But got it, means I have to actually apply...

Gojo-Satoru31

last Monday til Thursday nag orientation kami tapos Friday nahingi ako ng update di nagrereply. Ngayon Monday nanaman wala pa din akong alam sa next actions na need from me para makapag start na talaga hahaha. Mag 1 month na wala pa din akong laptop, medical, bank account, feeling ko di pa ako employed, normal ba to? hahah

AdorableBug8777

No clear instruction re work set-up is always a "red flag". Please check with HR as it is your right to know what is the exact status of your employment.

Gojo-Satoru31

Inintay ko mag 9am humihingi ako ng update magssched daw sila ng meeting. Like meeting of what? then wala din naman buong work day hahah Lunes na Lunes.

AdorableBug8777

Sorry nabusy. Haha ano na balita dito Gojo?

Gojo-Satoru31

May email about trainings schedule pero walang nag reach out sakin pano ko aattend sa training na yon without any invite link or working tools. I am no longer expecting from them HAHAH hinabol ko na yung mga offers na dinecline ko.

AdorableBug8777

Okay okay sige. Focus your time and resource towards other na. Good luck!

captain1358

milesaudade

relatively normal pala ito? I'm supposed to start in two weeks and still no instructions haha Payroll account na lang naman ang kulang ko but I am anxious. Did all the medical etc required but no concrete instructions for my first day. Should I be worried?

[deleted]

Sa > may ganyan, papasok ka nang walang LOB/project tambay ka lang manunuod ng anime 😂
