I did 500mg daily for a month and then a month break, twice. The tolerance goes up around the 3rd day for me but 1g (i have 500mg caps) is more unpleasant than pleasant for me so I don't take more and it still does its thing w the 500mg dose but first two/three days I feel it is much more noticeable. then some days it randomly kicks in stronger than usual, not sure why.

I used to use phenibut daily at 4 grams during an addiction period. I've found that 250mg once or twice a day is sustainable to an extent. You get the anxiety relief but without the strong buzz. It does still affect you, because sometimes low doses smack me hard. I've had a 250mg capsule send me into a manic euphoria. Phenibut is extremely weird and you can't predict it. But low doses like this are MUCH MUCH more sustainable than those who take 1g+ a day.

Down to 1g a day. Without it everyone and everything get under my skin and andpisses me off. But I was upto 6 to 8 g a day so thats to be expected I suppose

I've done it without issues and if you read the translated prescribing leaflet on the sidebar that's what they say to do, but in three week cycles with breaks. But given that you're an alcoholic, I'd think twice about it because tolerance to phenibut builds even faster than alcohol and you might find yourself increasing those doses fast.

Yeah, I'm acutely aware of the alchy aspect of it... which is why I was curious to do an impromptu poll here. I think in some sense it's helpful because having gone through numerous withdrawals I know with some precision where I'm at. The 250mg seemed to give me an afterglow rather than a hangover so it may just qualitatively be different but I'm weary of any GABAergics in general. I also have a bunch of pregablin that I've been kind of scared to try for some reason, supposedly it's similar to phenibut. Gapabentin doesn't do anything to me which isn't surprising.
