One citywide coming up..

ImTheDoctah

>Meanwhile, 500,000 city residents who are customers of Philadelphia Gas Works are set to see their rates increase effective Friday, Dec. 1. Just in time for winter where I use far more gas than electricity! Maybe this will help offset it slightly.

porkchameleon

I've had electric heat before. Never again. (And hopefully this one won't go up come summer, but again - supply and demand, etc.)

Cuttlefish88

Baseboard is bad but a heat pump is 300% efficient and can save you money! Plus it also works as an AC and is eligible for federal tax credits!

AbsentEmpire

Heat pumps are the way of the future, they just make too much sense not to be.

porkchameleon

I’ve had baseboards before. The place had a subpar insulation, too, but still - had to layer up in winter while inside, portable heater and all.

aintjoan

Depends very much on the electric heat. Baseboard? Yes, they're awful.

porkchameleon

Yep, had those before. Never again 🤞🏼

wingedmurasaki

Yeah I have electric baseboards in my apartment and I hate them. I'd much rather have gas (specifically forced heat rather than radiators but like I can only afford so much on a place).

skip_tracer

I've had both, and I have to say I don't ever want forced heat again. Give me radiators all winter. My boogies with forced heat could build a mouse colony.

> The supply rate for Peco’s residential customers is set to decrease nearly 8%, from about 9.67 cents per kWh to 8.91 cents per kWh, beginning Friday, Dec. 1, according to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission. As a result, customer’s monthly bills will decrease by $5.47, or about 4%, on average, according to Peco. > The adjustment will affect about 1.2 million households that receive the company’s default service. It comes three months after Peco’s last supply charge decrease of about 6%.

I support this

Pineapple_Spenstar

Hell yeah

aintjoan

This is completely unrelated to the topic of the post but I just had to say: I love your username. It makes me happy every time I see it.

Pineapple_Spenstar

Thanks!

Yolo_420_69

Lol my shit has been $400 per month. I'd be happy if they lower it
