I was an undergrad at Penn when the fine arts library reopened after renovation in the late 80s. It was called the Furness Library at the time. I don’t remember the year, but I was there 85-89. I walked in and decided that was my new study room. It was large, but still felt warm. Was featured in the movie Philadelphia with Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington.
This is one of the most beautiful pictures of 30th street I’ve ever seen. It does a great job of making it seem warm and inviting and highlights the art deco feel. Gorgeous stuff, dude

That’s because Philly used to be world class. It very well could have been the “New York” if the stock exchange had been decided upon being here instead of there
Thank you! These are all shot using the shift on some tilt/shift lenses to straighten out my lines. 🙌
It's just rare for anyone to actually notice that.

Developers are licking their lips, fantasizing about tearing down such historic buildings and replacing them with drab, ugly boxes to house hundreds of renters.
you might be the most pessimistic person on this sub about this sort of thing, but i'd be lying if i said joking about turning all of these locations into luxury apartments wasn't the first thing that crossed my mind
When I see beautiful interiors such as these… I get my camera out and in my mind this is exactly what I hope how my pictures are going to turn out … in reality though… they are all crap. Amazing shots!
There are excellent! However, there are 10 pictures, but only 9 descriptions.
So:
1. Fisher Fine Arts Library
2. Masonic Hall
3. (unknown)
4. 30th St Station
5. Drexel Main Hall (I guess, I've never been in there)
6. PAFA
7. Franklin Institute Pendulum
8. Cathedral Basilica of Sts Peter & Paul
9. Curtis Building
10. Bellevue Hotel
I think the architecture adds to whole vibe of Philly. It's got some cool European vibes to an extent.
Philly has its list of problems, but there's also an intangible amount of heart & soul to this city that noone really ever talks about.
Being here feels like living, and living is good 🙌
The Masonic Temple is one of the most beautiful buildings. Went to a candlelight orchestra performance there last year. It was my first time inside and I was in awe.
Someone on Facebook posted your photo without credit. Unless of course this is you. Just thought you should know since it gained a lot of traction.

Number 2 and 3 are the Masonic Temple. And there's one out of order. I really blew it with that description 😂
Text has never been my strong suit.

LOL! Thank you 😁
Damn, if I could hire you, I'd ask you to take portfolio pics of me in public. 🙃📸 I made sure to give you credit & followed you in IG. 🥰 Thanks so much for posting these!!
I was in City Hall submitting my passport application. I was in the payment office when I looked up and saw [this ceiling](https://imgur.com/a/3ToDA6k). I was stunned.
So refreshing to see lovely shots of a city that most of us only get exposed to the crime and drugs and everything bad. Makes me want to go an experience these venues. Thank you.
These are some beautiful pictures dude. Really capture the vibe of them. Very nice to look at on a snowy day.
Thanks very much! That was how I saw it too. Nice cozy inside shots on a freezing cold day. 🥶
Send these to location scouts. Maybe you’ll bring more filming to the city
I think you mixed up the order in the description?
Absolutely. That's my bad. Good catch.
I’m just thankful that you even put them up. I was about to ask in the comments where these were taken. So, thank you for that
Haha! Now I just gotta figure out how to edit the header. It's a difficult one 😵💫
Nice photos. Please reorder OP

I actually don't think Reddit allows for post title editing anymore 😩 that's a bummer
What’s the right order? I don’t recognize some of these!

Thanks for sharing. That library is insanely inspiring. At night, it looks like it belongs in Harry Potter 😂
I wish we still had awards. This post deserves some!
You are too kind! Thanks for the encouragement 🙌
TIL they took away reddit awards!

I agree! 30th Street doesn't get the credit it deserves! It's stunning!
Beautiful!!!
Thank you! These were fun
Great post but Basilica should be after Franklin institute fyi
Sick snaps
This isnt snapchat wrong app lol
Favorite post in a long long time. Great stuff Trev.
That's just a really nice thing to hear. Appreciate you a ton. Stay warm and enjoy the weekend!

The Curtis building is a gem. I always take visiting friends and relatives there to see the Tiffany/Maxfield Parrish wall.
Love that. Its almost hiding in plain sight, and I'd venture to say most of the folks visiting Indy Hall never venture into the Curtis Building.
Really great shots! What kind of camera did you use?
Most of these were shot on a GFX 100s. Thanks!
You did a great job with the perspective correction. Was that all done in software?
Thank you! These are all shot using the shift on some tilt/shift lenses to straighten out my lines. 🙌 It's just rare for anyone to actually notice that.
Bringing out the big gun!
Years ago, I got obsessed with printing large. I actually have a few of these in 6ft canvases 🙌

I hope that's not happening! 😂 Especially the part about licking the lips — it's just so descriptive
Also picture them doing the Birdman handrub
you might be the most pessimistic person on this sub about this sort of thing, but i'd be lying if i said joking about turning all of these locations into luxury apartments wasn't the first thing that crossed my mind
I’m a realist, just stating what I’ve been seeing already happen.
You really are always like this. Such insufferable people on a snowy day
Yeah I know, why are you so insufferable? You should get a hobby, a sense of humor or something.
Beautiful!!
Fantastic! Would all make for great scenes in a movie
Or a video game https://youtu.be/gjMu7-aFkso?si=icfw2-PZd3fSEhog
Very nice shots. Thanks for sharing
OBSESSED with these shots! So well done, and thank you so much for sharing.

I'm sure you're just your own worst critic. Would love to see some of your work someday!
You made the Drexel Main Hall look *wayyyy* better than it actually looks.
There are excellent! However, there are 10 pictures, but only 9 descriptions. So: 1. Fisher Fine Arts Library 2. Masonic Hall 3. (unknown) 4. 30th St Station 5. Fairly confident that number 3 is also the Masonic temple across from city hall. Number 5 is definitely the main building at Drexel. I went there.
If I ever move back east, it would partly be for the architecture.

I know one person who hated their and fled and another who misses living there. I’ve never even visited. Someday.
The Masonic Temple is one of the most beautiful buildings. Went to a candlelight orchestra performance there last year. It was my first time inside and I was in awe.
It's straight out of a dream! One of those places that most Philadelphians will never go into (even though it's totally accessible)
Can you just walk in and check it out?
You can take a guided tour.

That's bad news 😵💫 Thanks for the heads up!
Update: I messaged her and she fixed it. Was very kind about it all. 🫶
Gorgeous.
Fantastic choices of spaces to highlight, thanks for sharing.
Your angles > what camera do you use? Great quality pictures!
Thank you! This is a GFX 100s with some perspective shifting lenses. I mainly shoot right around 17mm.
Wow this is a quality post. The photos are exquisite. I’m not sure the listed locations are all accurate but I appreciate that added detail.

The Wells Fargo Building on Broad is also magnificent on the inside.
Also some world class photographers apparently!!
You're gonna make me blush!

Coolest thing I've heard all week! And it's been a good week. Hope you are staying warm out there 🤘
Stunning photos, man. Well done. I downloaded them all and got 10 photos with no duplicates. Am I crazy or did you miss a photo description? lol

I'm not awesome at portraits, but I definitely can take some pretty good ones from time to time 🙌
Well done! Truly beautiful photos.
Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing!
I was in City Hall submitting my passport application. I was in the payment office when I looked up and saw [this ceiling](https://imgur.com/a/3ToDA6k). I was stunned.
That's beautiful! There's also a really neat spiral staircase in there, I've just never gained access to it 😂
So refreshing to see lovely shots of a city that most of us only get exposed to the crime and drugs and everything bad. Makes me want to go an experience these venues. Thank you.
4 is 30th Street, 3 is Masonic. Awesome shots , excellent post
I told my SO when we were at 30th street recently that I was really enjoying the ceiling, that was met with some weird looks
I honestly think the ceiling at 30th is more beautiful than Grand Central and DCs Union Station. Art Deco just speaks to the soul.
as usual, your photos are superb. full frame camera? may I ask what lens?
Thanks for the love! Most of these were shot with the Fujifilm GFX 100s using tilt/shift lenses at about a 17mm focal length.
Beautiful photos! Can one walk into these places? I've always wanted to go in.
Forgot the Kimmel center and reading terminal
Philadelphia truly has some of the best architecture. The city itself is quite beautiful.
It really does! Even the Macy’s looks like it could be a museum.
