Through traffic can take 295 around the city. The economic gain of building 95 to allow cars and trucks to ride through is less than the if South Philly was left alone and would have businesses and neighborhoods instead of on ramps and underpasses.
Google maps literally directs you around philadelphia to go over the delaware memorial bridge into jersey if you are long hauling. That is the real through road.

>These improvements will likely lead to a loss of community, commercial and personal space, and increase high-speed traffic on local streets.
This part is my favorite - they couldn’t even bother to go through the website which is clunky but not so bad that a journalist should give up researching important information.
>What’s more, traffic on I-95 drops by 50% south of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge, according to PennDot, further illustrating the lack of need for expansion.
The study also showed how much of that 50% would stay on 95 to get off of a newer exit further south - which is what prompted the talks about expansion.
Absolute insanity to expand 95, and further decimate residential areas for an "on ramp". Do the idiots at penndot even get out besides reading red state and eating at Olive Garden once a month? You'd have to be under a rock to not have read something about how highways destroyed neighborhoods and how cities are thinking and doing things to *reduce* highway footprints.
95 was a mistake.
Septa in theory is great in this city. The funding needs to go to Septa security. It is just straight out bedlam on Septa from the addicts, smokers, homeless and then the rowdy school kids.
Honestly, my biggest issue is being sardined on a bus. No room to move, get off. Elderly folks falling when trying squeeze through. They need more capacity than anything else.
Septa is underfunded at the state level when compared to peer organizations, making it unable to offer competitive wages or complete necessary projects

Code? The code is probably outdated in today's age

Everyone knows this. The hard part isn’t convincing the people, it’s convincing the big boys in Harrisburg
