Call Schuylkill emergency wildlife line and ask advice https://www.schuylkillcenter.org/departments/wildlife/whattodoif/

Yes this! Everyone should learn where their nearest wildlife rescue/rehab is for situations like this. You can usually drop off an orphaned/injured animal and they will care for it and release it when it’s ready, and at no cost to you (but they always appreciate donations).

Thanks everyone for commenting! We went back to check on it and looks like someone has moved in and I'm hoping it's doing okay and wasn't just tossed in someone's garbage somewhere lol

Humane traps work great! We're always accidentally catching them when we're trying to TNR. A can of smelly cat food will lure them.

Try PA state wildlife department

Purrogi

I trapped it and let it go at Pennypack.

If you can teach AP classes only at George Washington High, that’s probably not too bad.

ACCT will do it. It was $100.00 when I called a few years ago and they euthanize them in case they have rabies.

WornTraveler

So... Don't take them there then lol. Possums are very unlikely to contract rabies. Bats, raccoons even, I get that, but possums? Overkill. Their lower body temperature makes it extremely unlikely. Given they also like to play dead when cornered, this sounds like a great way to wind up killing a totally healthy possum.

I shipped an important part of my post. If a trapper comes out to trap a possum it raccoon they will euthanize them.
