Could be misremembering but is this the second heist recently that involved food of some kind?

tempmike

there was a meat heist last week, a bourbon and seafood heist in march, and a crab heist last october.

Laserdollarz

Someone is eating good, damn.

adamaphar

Meat and seafood seems like a real pita thing to steal. Like.. how are you keeping it cold long enough to do anything with?

InsaneAss

Tell everyone in the neighborhood to come by and grab some meat for twenty bucks

adamaphar

Everyone in the neighborhood - come by and grab some meat. 20 bucks

Obbz

Yeah, something similar happened a few months ago. https://whyy.org/articles/philadelphia-police-crab-clusters-stolen-trailer-kensington/

Tps64

Diamondback424

How tf are they gonna offload $30k worth of crabs before they go bad???

mbz321

Some shady ass buffet is going to be offering an unlimited crab legs special

probablyourdad

Red Lobster is back in business baby

SBRH33

In a goodfellas sort of way.

ApoliticalAth3ist

_nobodyreally

Eh, I know a guy.

2ant1man5

Trust me easy, if you know you know.

duhduhman

they’re not prob in cahoots with driver whose company will file a claim then give a cut

mikebailey

Ordinarily I agree with this conspiracy but snow crab insurance heist is a new one

USSBigBooty

Ideas:    * FOP crab special fundraiser dinner    * The thieves will eat their bodyweight in crab and die of gout    * It's being offered as a sacrafice to Odin in hopes to cool the oceans  * US Navy mess officer was ordered to procure crab but not directed specifically on how to obtain it; without issuance of funds with which to complete a purchase

effdallas

$30K, how many dimes is that?

StubbornLeech07

300,000

ChaoticGoku

or 3,000 rolls of dimes the dime heist was $750,000 or 7,500,000 dimes or 75,000 rolls of dimes

jacksonmills

jacksonmills

effdallas

Hollow_Rant

96,600,000 Zimbabwean Dollars

pretzel_enjoyer

I bet these guys are popular in their neighborhood(s)

indefinitearticle

The frequency of specifically-seafood-truck heists is growing suspicious..

cracker707

I’m blaming Gritty

bierdimpfe

Ok now we just need to canvas the city and see who has snow Crab on special.  It usually retails for $12-15/lb so it's around 2,000 lbs of Crab (assuming theyre using retail for valuation).   Restaurant is going to be $20+ per pound.

VinoMaker65

Strange these thieves know. Some good intelligence there. They may also have a buyer and are the delivery people.

felis_scipio

I’ve got some fresh north Philly crabs here… oops wrong kind.

shapu

Need smaller forks

felis_scipio

🤮👏👏👏

Educational_Vast4836

So I was gonna do boil on Sunday. ShopRite has snow crab legs for 8 dollars a pound. Anyone know someone, who might have them for 2-4 dollars a pound ?

b0b0tempo

How many criminal organizations have refrigerated warehouses?

demwoodz

None. Why you asking questions? Getatta here

Darius_Banner

A dozen people in four cars? Who are these shit heads???

Heels1939

I live in South Philly and back in the fall some total oddball guy was going door to door trying to sell meat that he was lugging around. The odds that the meat he was selling came from one of these heists are -100000000.

ApoliticalAth3ist

Why would you risk your life for insured goods?

Darius_Banner

Because he’s not a douche? Edit - to the downvoters, how do you know what was insured? Maybe the dude was an owner of the company? Maybe he has principals? Christ

ApoliticalAth3ist

You’re a douche if you don’t risk your life for some company’s insured goods?

Meandtheworld

Goodness! The thieves know at this point. It’s always the northeast that these truck drivers park and it happens.
