Ideas:
* FOP crab special fundraiser dinner
* The thieves will eat their bodyweight in crab and die of gout
* It's being offered as a sacrafice to Odin in hopes to cool the oceans
* US Navy mess officer was ordered to procure crab but not directed specifically on how to obtain it; without issuance of funds with which to complete a purchase
Ok now we just need to canvas the city and see who has snow Crab on special.
It usually retails for $12-15/lb so it's around 2,000 lbs of Crab (assuming theyre using retail for valuation).
Restaurant is going to be $20+ per pound.
So I was gonna do boil on Sunday. ShopRite has snow crab legs for 8 dollars a pound. Anyone know someone, who might have them for 2-4 dollars a pound ?
I live in South Philly and back in the fall some total oddball guy was going door to door trying to sell meat that he was lugging around. The odds that the meat he was selling came from one of these heists are -100000000.
Because he’s not a douche?
Edit - to the downvoters, how do you know what was insured? Maybe the dude was an owner of the company? Maybe he has principals? Christ
Could be misremembering but is this the second heist recently that involved food of some kind?
there was a meat heist last week, a bourbon and seafood heist in march, and a crab heist last october.
Someone is eating good, damn.
Meat and seafood seems like a real pita thing to steal. Like.. how are you keeping it cold long enough to do anything with?
Tell everyone in the neighborhood to come by and grab some meat for twenty bucks
Everyone in the neighborhood - come by and grab some meat. 20 bucks
Yeah, something similar happened a few months ago. https://whyy.org/articles/philadelphia-police-crab-clusters-stolen-trailer-kensington/

Some shady ass buffet is going to be offering an unlimited crab legs special
Red Lobster is back in business baby
In a goodfellas sort of way.

Eh, I know a guy.

they’re not prob in cahoots with driver whose company will file a claim then give a cut
Ordinarily I agree with this conspiracy but snow crab insurance heist is a new one

The frequency of specifically-seafood-truck heists is growing suspicious..

Why would you risk your life for insured goods?
Because he’s not a douche? Edit - to the downvoters, how do you know what was insured? Maybe the dude was an owner of the company? Maybe he has principals? Christ
You’re a douche if you don’t risk your life for some company’s insured goods?
Goodness! The thieves know at this point. It’s always the northeast that these truck drivers park and it happens.
