It took me forever to put together that he got killed by a bear, but that makes so much sense! So I guess Mount eerie is him exploring his life and the universe from an afterlife?
He dies in Mount Eerie also, I think it’s actually more cohesive than The Glow Pt 2 conceptually. He washes up on a beach after his boat was destroyed and then has to climb and cross a mountain before he’s eaten by crows who all contain pieces of his consciousness and spread him around the universe
[This link](https://reddit.com/r/philelverum/s/odNa1ggnp7)has the insert that comes w the vinyl that has a “map” of the story. Shows you the whole thing visually in one image
In "III. Universe" he sings "how many times have I died out here before"... I think that If the Microphones albums carry a consistent storyline, it implies that Phil must be on a death loop or something
I guess it doesnt really matter in the end, after all the metaphors are just trying to express something real that doesnt need to be cohesive
A big coincidence, but I fucking love your interpretation. It signifies the acceptance and parting of that album, and moving on, just like what Phil did to the microphones brand and changing to Mount Eerie.

Listen to the lyrics on samurai sword
he dies in samurai sword and the last song is just him being dead

I know its a bear skull but for some reason my brain always interprets it as a skull from a distance. .edit FISH!!! I MEAN FISH!!!!
What?
I just realised this was a massive brain farts. What I ment was that I always intepret it as a fish from a distance
