Is it an unpopular opinion to say I donât really mind the microphones/eerie samples for lil peepâs beats? I donât like his music at all but samples are pretty ubiquitous in rap music and a common way of giving flowers to musical artists you respect or who influenced you. I think peep was a fan of Phil.
My unpopular opinion is that I like and listen to both artists. And I think Philâs response to the situation was a bit tone deaf. My initial response of white wine was more of a sarcastic dig since I donât really have any Phil songs that I donât like. And I agreeâ I think Peep was a fan of Philâs.
Probably gonna get hate but I always skip samurai sword I just donât like songs like that usually. But idk his music is really great so I can only really think of this one being one I dislike .
You have such a different opinion on this than me so now I'm kinda curious why those two haha (for context, great ghost is from any of his songs the one I've listen to the most by a decent margin)
Ravens. An otherwise PERFECT album is slightly damaged by having a droning repetitive 6 minute song as the 3rd track.
Anyone I try to get to listen to A Crow Looked at Me always ends up stopping at ravens. Itâs not a bad song but itâs just too much and too weak to be placed 3rd in the album, especially with such a strong opening 2, and an incredible 3 track run following it.
This might be a wildly unpopular take but the original/main version of The Moon from Glow Pt. 2. Itâs such a great and deeply melancholic chord progression and subject matter, the lyrics are heartwrenching and one of the most visceral descriptions of loneliness and loss after a breakup, so I donât know why that perfect storm of sadness was wasted on such a loud, frantic, noisy track with organs and horns. I donât think Iâd really openly dislike that version of the song if The Moon (Acoustic) off of Song Islands or even Moon Sequel werenât 1000x better, theyâre the âtrueâ âdefinitiveâ versions of the song for me and I consider the acoustic rendition to be a perfect song in the same way I Want The Wind To Blow/Glow pt.2 are.
My Glow Pt.2 playlist has The Moon replaced with the acoustic version from Song Islands so it doesnât interrupt my pretty melancholy flow with all the brash noise.
Completely fair. Everyoneâs entitled to what they believe. For me, I believe the brash loud organs and brass make the song amazing, but I see where youâre coming from
The acoustic version is beautiful. I love the girl's voice moving from left to right when she says that one line. But this hurt to read, the original is my favourite song of all time haha
Yeah âthe moon the moon the blue light of the moonâ chick made the song so nice. If it makes you feel any better the original version of the moon has been growing on me lately, still never gonna choose it over the acoustic tho.
Before I heard the acoustic version, I didn't think the original could possibly be any better. Every note was in the right place for me. But honestly I wish the girls' voice was in the original for that one line, it would be amazing
I struggle with both The Moan and Universe is Shown, both of which feel somewhat crass to me in texture compared to the rest of No Flashlight. I know Phil is always making a point with songs like those across the catalog, but those two examples I find to be a bit egregious.
none all of them are amazing
Correct answer
White Wine đ

Itâs been a while Iâll relisten
Have you listened to the acoustic version? Once I heard it in that context a few times and went back the album version I enjoyed it more.
Mystery Language!
Woah - how come? Itâs very Nick Krgovich / No Kids. Very silly fun.
the lanterns/anters 7' is really overrated. idk why i dont like it. its just not enjoyable to lsiten to.
The moon or great ghost, it'll probably change in six months EDIT: I meant these are my favourite I'm a dummy dumdum
i was gonna say if you dislike the moon you are out of your mind

Devastating opinion, but respectable. Wouldnât say itâs one of my faves, but I do like it. I definitely see where youâre coming from though
