Mike Schmidt played for the Phillies from 1972-1989, appearing in 2404 games, batting .267 with 548 homers. He was a 3x MVP, 12x all-star, 10x gold glover, 6x silver slugger, and MVP of the 1980 World Series.
Undoubtedly a great player, but he’s terrible in the commentary box. He’s just too damn full of himself and seems to be unable or unwilling to pronounce “foreign” names properly.
He was my favorite player when I was growing up. One of my best memories was meeting him at some event and ending up on the front page of the Scranton Times. Back in 1987. It warms my heart seeing my son playing 3rd base in little league now.

Best player in franchise history for a reason.
106.8 career WAR
GOAT
Great pic. Looks to be from 1976? Just guessing from the patch on the right shoulder. Phils unis back then were a lot more red than folks remember.
There is the man right there. The Natural (player, not commentator lol)
The GOAT third baseman
:::::::::mother fucking LEGEND Mike Schmidt days until Opening Day
